A Conservative Hero?

Lt. Michael Byrd of the Capitol Police is a conservative hero, but in the strictly small-c sense. People who identify with the Conservative movement in America tend to hate him, because his action did more than anyone else to stop an insurrection which would have installed Conservative politicians in a coup. What Byrd did, though, was act to conserve the institutions he was sworn to protect. If you truly believe in conservatism with all the respect for authority and adherence to societal norms that entails, you should laud Byrd as an everyday champion.

Is Lt. Byrd a conservative hero? He shot an unarmed woman that posed no threat to anyone in her immediate vicinity, including armed Capitol Police officers that were directly behind her not in another corridor as was Lt. Byrd. Nor did he ‘do the most’ to prevent an ‘insurrection’. Only last week, the FBI conceded there was no evidence of an organized attempt to mount a coup at the Capitol on Jan. 6.

What he did contribute to, unwittingly though successfully, was an end to any Congressional oversight of the administration of the 2020 US election, that might have allayed some of the suspicions that the election was not conducting according to law. Given the extent of the changes to election law largely brought about by executive orders and administrative discretion in many of the States, which is contrary to Article 1, Section 4 of the US Constitution, on the grounds of COVID, Congressional oversight was entirely justified.

Consequently, this pearl-clutching about ‘conserving institutions’, ‘respecting authority’ or ‘societal norms’ is rather disingenuous; like a thief demanding that you knock on the door before disturbing his rummaging in your garage.

What we learned in the lead up to the 2020 US election and its aftermath, is that ‘the Cathedral’, is concerned only with conserving its own institutional power. That it will do so by whatever means necessary, societal norms be damned, and that whoever fails to respect its authority, can and will be killed, imprisoned or surveilled with impunity if it deems it necessary for the furtherance of its own ends. And they will call those conducting the ‘policing’: ‘heros’.

    Monty is just desperate for attention – it was much easier when all the Cats and Kittehs were in one place.

    He knows he has no argument in this reality, so he is trying to create another one.

    My attitude? If someone wants to argue, then argue back.

    If they are trying to annoy you, annoy them back (by not getting annoyed).

    Meanwhile Sirhan Sirhan is on the verge of freedom. Meanwhile a leftwing Spanish terrorist from the 1980s, sentenced to 84 years for his role in killings and bombings, is free to compete as a swimmer in the Tokyo paralympics. He lost the use of his legs due to a hunger strike (!?) and under another of those idiotic progressive laws so beloved of Europeans, was eligible for parole on the basis of disability. Moreover he lied about his criminal record, which would normally have disqualified him from the Paralympics. Incredibly this story is printed in the formerly Fairfax press. Though, the typically, the journalist repeatedly refers to this convicted killer as an “alleged” killer.

    So a guy shoots an unarmed woman who is no threat. And he does it in a country where 72 million or so armed people think he is a murderer and took part in a coup. If he comes to my company for life insurance he won’t be getting it. Gogh Whitlam’s life expectance is better than his, and Gough’s dead. I know that cause a mate went to the funeral to be sure. He was also keen to piss on the coffin but did not get the chance. Life is full of disappointments. This is why little bits of good luck like a stairwell eff ing up Andrews are worth celebrating.

    The ‘Cathedral’ not only includes the alphabets, media and big techs but includes big pharma and big banks.

    Pfizer is / was about the most fined institution in the world… censured and fined for various corruption bribery and other malfeasances by the truckload! However – by some accounts – it has forged bulletproof agreements with nations that force them to keep buying COVID shots and explicitly prevents them from looking at alternatives….

    The big banks are in the loop too. They deplatform and demonetise troublesome entities…. Parler, Gab just could not get a bank to help them collect revenue. And most recently OnlyFans was demonetised and even General Flynn had all his Credit Cards and accounts frozen by City for reputational reasons! (And Elon may be the next on the block!)

    Now that police shooting unarmed protestors is established practice, conservatives should all support it (unless it is a BLM protest).

    Now that voter fraud is an established institution in the US, true conservatives should support its introduction world-wide (but only when done by fascist leftist parties).

    Now that random lockdowns are established practice, conservatives should support them each summer, to protect people from swamping Emergency Departments with preventable sunburn cases.

    The fascism is strong, and getting stronger, in munty.
