Made from the fetal cell line, like AZ. So I’ve not been interested in it.

Well…that is out of the question then.

Looks like…I am not getting vaccinated then.

Health nazis love being health nazis.

Six-beer limit for homes in strict lockdown (DT, today, paywalled)

Residents in a Sydney tower block under a strict coronavirus lockdown are having their alcohol deliveries policed.

Well if you want people to rebel that’s a really great way to do it. What you going to do Karen-types, also refuse them deliveries of pizza and Maccas due to the threat of obesity?

Bureaucracy and politicians consider faith to be one of those kooky things that of course we say people can have but which really ought not be allowed to intefere with the implementation of policy.

As far as they are concerned it is like people dress up and do American Civil War re-enactments – they can take it seriously, but serious people don’t take it seriously and you certainly do not let the guys in blue and grey General uniforms run the real military.

I’d like an explanation as to why people over sixty who don’t want to get AZ are being denied access to the other vaccines even if they are happy to have them.

Many countries vaccinated the whole age groups of the population without using AZ.

If the aim is to get the most at risk groups in society vaccinated first, this surely is a political act of punishment not medicine.

Why should a healthy seventeen year old boy get Pfizer ahead of a sixty five year old woman?

Scummo promoted this punitive behaviour a few days ago.

He’s a Christian.

I’d like an explanation as to why people over sixty who don’t want to get AZ are being denied access to the other vaccines even if they are happy to have them.

The only explanation can only be a punitive one. Morrison made that clear – you don’t take the AZ, you go to the back of the queue.

Which is fine for me. I don’t want to queue-jump and deny a younger person a vaccination that allows them to work. No one else should suffer because of my ethical position. That is entirely on my head.

From the “Australian.”

The trolls will no longer have to be held to accountCHRIS MERRITT

9:54PM September 8, 2021

The most objectionable aspect of the High Court’s decision in the Dylan Voller defamation case is that it undermines the law’s ability to hold online trolls to account.

Instead, everyone who has a Facebook page is now considered to be the publisher of defamatory comments that are left on those pages without their knowledge or consent.

That means the High Court has exposed individuals and community groups with Facebook pages to an unknown potential liability for damage inflicted by online trolls.

This defies common sense, runs counter to the goal of cleaning up social media and cannot be allowed to stand. It is an affront to the principle that everyone is responsible for their own actions – not those of others.

State attorneys-general can expect to be deluged with demands for this decision to be reversed so everyone with a Facebook page is only answerable for material they intended to publish.

The targets of abuse on Facebook now have a choice: they can track down the real author of defamatory comments or they can use the Voller precedent and sue a well-insured entity that had no idea third parties had posted defamatory comments on their Facebook pages.

The High Court’s ruling, which is based on precedents going back to the 19 century, exposes the fact that this aspect of the law of defamation is no longer fit for purpose.

Defamation lawyer Anne Flahvin of Baker McKenzie has made the point that the High Court’s ruling is also at odds with a decision of the New Zealand Court of Appeal.

The New Zealand court has determined that the administrator of a Facebook page cannot be held liable for the comments of third parties if the administrator had no actual knowledge of the comments.

The real issue at the heart of the Voller case concerns this young man’s quest to find someone to sue after he was trolled in comments by third parties that had been left on Facebook pages operated by the media.

Voller came to national prominence when he featured in a 2016 Four Corners program about the detention and mistreatment of Aborigines at the Don Dale Youth Detention Centre in the Northern Territory.

In April, NSW Attorney-General-General Mark Speakman issued a discussion paper outlining a way of enabling people like Voller to track down the trolls he should be pursuing over those comments.

Speakman favoured a British provision that gives website operators a “safe harbour” from defamation if they can show they did not post the defamatory material and they have enough information about the identity of the wrongdoer to enable a complainant to sue.

That suggestion makes sense. But after the Voller case it should be accompanied by a new provision making it clear that the act of publishing requires an intention.

The alternative will lead to truly ludicrous outcomes where publishers will be called upon to defend material they did not write, did not post online and knew nothing about.

Shifting liability away from the real wrongdoers is a threat to everyone with a Facebook page and will do nothing to clean up social media.

MINISTER WANTS PATRIOTIC EDUCATION

A person can be patriotic, can love what their country’s achievement, and still see that there are things that can be made better but see the ability to make the right choices as one of their country’s achievements and which makes it special.

A person who hates their country will recoil from it starve it of what they might have offered or, more to the progressive strategy, look for a way to destroy, and progressives always make sure they have plenty of revolutionary demagogues on hand who just need the cannon fodder.

But progressives do have countries that can be loved, but they are usually far away and no one here has actually lived under them – old USSR, Cuba, and for a while Venezuela.

Awesome stuff…

“… attacked by a masked gang who subjected him to a homophobic assault at knifepoint and carved the word “faggot” into one of his buttocks”…

The apparent attack, which was alleged to have taken place in the central Madrid neighbourhood of Malasaña on Sunday afternoon, shocked Spain and came amid a rise in hate crimes – and just two months after a gay man was beaten to death in the northern city of A Coruña.

The 20-year-old man, who has not been named, initially said that eight masked men had followed him into the hallway of his home and abused him verbally before slashing his lower lip with a knife and cutting the homophobic slur into his buttock.

The incident was condemned by the prime minister, Pedro Sánchez, who convened an urgent meeting of the anti-hate crimes commission on Friday. It also triggered the calling of protests by LGBTI collectives and accusations that the rhetoric of the far-right Vox party had fomented an increasingly anti-LGBTI climate.

Record zip noise….

A Spanish man who said he had been attacked by a masked gang who subjected him to a homophobic assault at knifepoint and carved the word “faggot” into one of his buttocks has now told police that his injuries were consensual.

Which leads the usual mongs to say “well it could have been true”..

The organisers of Wednesday night’s demonstrations in Madrid said the protests would still go ahead, insisting that a single false report should not distract from a rising number of hate crimes.

September 9, 2021 9:07 am

From the Herald Sun in Melbourne:

Victoria has 324 new cases overnight, including hundreds of mystery infections.

It’s an increase of more than 100 from Wednesday’s daily tally, with only 107 linked to known outbreaks.

This is the state’s biggest 24-hour spike since August 14 last year, when 372 infections were announced.

Melbourne’s Covid-hit north needs an urgent injection of Pfizer doses, an alliance of 30 local medics and multicultural leaders has warned.

In a desperate move, the group – which includes doctors, pharmacists, faith leaders and former Australia Post boss Ahmed Fahour – will on Thursday call on the state and federal governments to rapidly increase vaccine supply and accessibility.

I may be mistaken, but I thought you should not vaccinate in the middle of an infectious phase.
These vaccines do not prevent infection and take some time (perhaps weeks) to generate the antibodies needed. Actual treatments to reduce virus entering cells and replicating in an epidemic was once the standard procedure. Seems not any more

Is it more about keeping the frightening narrative going?

But we’re never getting back the property rights John Howard took. That was a despicable frontal attack on the rights of citizens. I don’t need to mention how the population ponzi scheme has weakened the social fabric.

Could China Take Over Bagram Air Base Since Biden Abandoned It?

US News & World Report revealed late on Tuesday that China’s military planners are “conducting a feasibility study about the effect of sending workers, soldiers and other staff” related to Beijing’s Belt and Road Initiative.

That’s according to Chinese officials who spoke to USN&WR on the condition of anonymity. But you can be sure that they had been authorized to speak from on high, signaling Communist China’s true intentions regarding post-Pax Americana Afghanistan.

Presidentish Joe Biden seems OK with that, too.

Exiting Marine One on the White House lawn last night, Biden was asked by a reporter, “Mr. President, are you worried that the Taliban will get funding from China?”

Biden answered, “Well, China has a real problem with the Taliban, so they’re going to try to work out some arrangement with the Taliban, I’m sure — as does Pakistan, as does Russia, as does Iran. They’re all trying to figure out, what do they do now. So it will be interesting to see what happens.”

The plan is simple,Australia is being taken down by lawless politicians and unelected bureaucrats. There is a Supreme court hearing tomorrow and a media blackout. Not many know about this and this is our only hope.

We have AFL soliciltors and G and B laywers as well as Senator Craig Kelly who are heroes to all who know what they are doing. What we need is for the link below to go viral and get as many hits as possible, so the Supreme Court is aware that the World is watching and it may keep them honest.

One thing is clear…which is that Bird has destroyed Dash Catallaxy. It’s like watching a slow death.

He certainly didn’t like me calling him a bitter coward, a petulant toddler and comparing him to Numbers last night. He’s still going on about it.

Actually, he’s worse-Numbers gave up on the Cat when Sinc declared it over. Bird’s still trying.

At least when he’s screaming his tits off at my fellow Nano-Wrigglers, the morbid fascination factor with his proclamations about the ‘true’ nature of matter, gravity and physics that might lead people headlong into his anti-J extermination fantasies is gone.

Women: 42/46
White men no degree: 28/61
White women w/ degree: 53/42
Black: 65/26
Hispanic: 41/36
Registered Voters: 43/53
Dems: 77/15
GOP: 9/89
Independent: 35/56
Overall: 39/50

His overall rating makes him the second least popular first term president of modern times. Only Trump rated marginally lower and that was with a hostile deep state and media.

Instead, everyone who has a Facebook page is now considered to be the publisher of defamatory comments that are left on those pages without their knowledge or consent.

That means the High Court has exposed individuals and community groups with Facebook pages to an unknown potential liability for damage inflicted by online trolls.

Someone made this point over at Dash-Cat yesterday when the subject of cash contributions was raised by Kaysee.
If you contribute cash, are you the publisher, and therefore liable for Bird?
Two days ago I would have said no.

The two most destructive PM’s in Australian history have been Rudd & Morrison.

I would draw this distinction though – Rudd would have been destructive no matter what. The GFC gave him an opportunity of sorts, but he was always going to try to turn Australia into a backdrop for his own magnificence – not as brightly coloured or lit, 2 dimentsional, a little stylised for effect, enough to create a sense of something without being enough to distract from the main focus.

Morrison was an accidental PM who was happy to get by. If he was less obtrusive it was not from conviction but lacking the vigour to do anything. He let more boisterous kids run wild but so long as he could just coast along while Labor kept making themselves unelectable he thought he had it made.

Then Covid came along and suddenly he thought he had to do something, didn’t know what, didn’t know how, knew that he didn’t want to know what, or how, or why, so he tried creating a quasi-governmental chamber where the Premiers would slog it out and he could coast by on that. But now that it is clear that he can’t there are various people behind the scenes shouting out what he should do and he is trying to do them all at once. Think of a marionette where there are different puppeteers angrily fighting over the strings.

Kirralie fighting the good fight:

Australians need to know what happened to many women in the recent Olympic Games…
Because then they’d see how the double standards of trans-extremism is hurting women and girls.
Let me start by telling you about Rebecca Catherine Quinn – a Canadian soccer player who went to the Olympics hoping to be celebrated.

Last year she demanded to be known only as “Quinn” – declaring she is transgender and non-binary.
But despite her identifying as transgender, Quinn remained playing on the Olympic women’s team.
Why? Because it’s common knowledge that very few females could ever transition and be competitive with biological males.
So while the virtue signalling may be high, the reality is she can’t compete as a man.
Those double standards have great consequences for women and girls, especially in sports.
And that’s why I’m asking for your help today – to defend the rights of women and girls from being trampled by trans activists in the next election.
You see in these recent Olympics, men such as weightlifter Laurel Hubbard, BMX rider Chelsea Wolfe and Archery competitor Stephanie Barrett, all robbed women of their rightful places in their chosen sports.

As males they have a competitive advantage over females.
When a female like Quinn identifies as male, she usually has to remain in the female sporting category as she has no hope of being competitive against biological males.
To make matters worse, some female athletes were told to be silent about the discrimation they saw.
You may remember me telling you about Tracey Lambrechs, New Zealand’s retired champion weightlifter. She reported:
“We were told not to talk to the media and were warned that if we did, we could bring the sport into disrepute and then could miss out on being selected or could be dropped from national teams. The sports national body did not know how to handle the situation, so they had a knee-jerk reaction and thought silence would be best for them.”
You and I know there are separate categories in sport for men and women because there are scientific and obvious advantages for males due to their biological reality.
To dismiss or threaten female athletes for defending their sex-based reality is shameful and must be exposed.

Yesterday someone linked to a very smart small business in Melbourne(?) which had a large sign up that masks were mandatory so if you didn’t wear one they would assume you had an exemption. Businesses should not have to act as policemen. They are not, and surely cannot under the law be held, responsible for what other people do or do not do.

If any trace of democracy is to remain in this benighted country then this WILL have to be challenged at some point.

Last night, at 5.28 pm, he revealed (what I presume to be) the real name of a Cat. I flagged the post and it was quickly removed.

He has to be monitored constantly or he will bring down Dash Cat. Alternatively, he must be banned.

Re the hearing in the NSW Supreme Court it’s about whether the NSW Gov has the power to make jabs mandatory.

As long as they can get businesses and employers to act as if it is they don’t need an actual law.

I love that the shop said that they would respect people’s privacy by not demanding proof of mask exemption, but a lot of shops will be worried that they will lose customers if they don’t put on the show to reassure their more nervous customers.

And there will be all the people who got the vaccine even though they did not want to and who will hold a grudge against those that are getting around doing what they themselves felt they had to.

Put that into context.. friends of mine (both doctors) have a family member in excruciating pain due to a health malady. ‘it is a bit rich’

Like saying Dan Andrews is mildly unpleasant.

The few decent thoughts at DashCat are being buried by Comic-Con level infantility.

NEWS ALERT
Biden Administration Prepares to Sue Texas Over Abortion Law

The Biden administration is preparing to sue Texas over its new law banning most abortions, people familiar with the matter said, an action that would set off a federal-state clash at a time when the future of abortion rights becomes an ever-more-pressing question before the courts.

It was all about fund raising.

I know what Biden’s new rules are, because I have paid attention to the beta-test in Australia.

A slightly modified (legal hurdle) version of the NZ/Aus mandated approach toward vaccine and tracking is what Biden will be announcing tomorrow.

When Psaki says: “It depends if you’re vaccinated or not” at the end of this, it feels like a scene in a dystopian movie. Don’t know what these new rules will be but clearly the White House is focused on how to force compliance with their agenda. Too bad, WE WILL NOT COMPLY!

This idiot is a menace no doubt but the problem is with the idiots who vote for her type:

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) on Wednesday asserted that more than just “women” can menstruate, defending her use of the term “menstruating people.”

“Not just women! Trans men & non-binary people can also menstruate,” Ocasio-Cortez exclaimed, defending her use of the term.

“Some women also *don’t* menstruate for many reasons, including surviving cancer that required a hysterectomy,” she continued.

“GOP mad at this are protecting the patriarchal idea that women are most valuable as uterus holders,” the New York lawmaker added, continuing to tell people to “grow up” because “trans, two-spirit, and non-binary people have always existed and will always exist”:

One day in the not too distant future I hope, I’m going to take my now 14 month old grandson to the zoo.
He reminds me a bit of you, KD, because he insists that all animals are dogs though I think he’s coming round to the concept of bird.
