Uniformed cops in relatively modest numbers at parliament house, Flinders Street station, and QV Markets / CFMEU HQ. More plainclothes out than usual, taking pains to be conspicuous. Still, I’d say a good two dozen cops looked straight through me when I passed them without a mask. The conversations I could overhear (eg people being questioned near CFMEU) were of exaggerated politeness. It’s no excuse, but clearly the message is getting through to the police that they’ve well and truly crapped the bed.
Apart from innocent unarmed people not wanting to get (more) vicious police beatings, a lot of them are simply bound to be knackered.
