As a general rule, there can only ever be 3-5 big issues with a high profile in the media. But this rule has been busted, with only one issue having a high profile for the last 18 months. According the media, nothing else that happens in the world is anywhere near as important.
Readers of this site, and many other worthy sites like those on the sidebar, know that this is an absurd warping of reality.

Yes, it was simply ye olde analogue composite video.
I have personally worked on equipment of this vintage that was capable of broadcast quality composite colour video, and while it is demanding to get this stuff tuned correctly etc, once it is sorted it is pretty solid and reliable. The gear I worked on often had to be parachuted out of an airplane to get to site, so one of the tests was to literally bash the crap out of it while it was operating to make sure physical stress didn’t make it fail. FFS, I have even seen vacuum tube based radios that are capable of transmitting composite video, so to say the tech was not up to it is just plain wrong – it was easily capable of it.
That it was a “bit fuzzy” was likely a result of the weight constraints on the lander etc – smaller bandwidth gear would be lighter, but also “fuzzy”. And they were on the edge for weight – if you listen to the audio, you will hear stuff like “6 down and 15” which means 6m/sec speed down and 15 seconds of available fuel left – if they went past the fuel limit, they wouldn’t have had enough left to get back to orbit of the moon and thence earth. If I remember correctly, they got down do single digits like “and 6”, so it was pretty freaking close!
