Well done to The Oz.

In March 2020, a profile of the typical Covid victim emerged from Italy. The average decedent was eighty years old, with approximately three comorbidities such as heart disease, obesity or diabetes. The young had little to worry about; the survival rate for the vast majority of the population was well over 99 per cent.

That portrait never significantly changed.

The data out of South Africa, after five weeks of Omicron spread, suggest that Omicron should be a cause for celebration, not fear. Its symptoms are mild to non-existent in the majority of the infected, especially the vaccinated; hospitalisation rates are over nine times lower than for previous Covid strains; deaths are negligible.
(Heather Mac Donald from The Spectator)

She goes on to describe the authorities tactics in the deliberate manufacture of fear.
An excellent read.

Where is Steele Rudd when you need him?

From his wiki entry:

FitzHenry notes that Davis’s satirical depiction of individual members of the Queensland Parliament was so close to reality that he was almost called to the Bar of the House of Parliament for breach of parliamentary privilege.[15]

In effect, Rudd (the pen name of Arthur Hoey Davis) lampooned the Queensland Parliament so thoroughly and accurately in 1908 they got butthurt enough to try and legally summons him for holding Parliament in contempt.

I just don’t understand where the “power” comes from to lock out non vax’d MPs. I can only think of one or two who aren’t (the eminently solid citizen Nick Goiran and I think a Greens MP). Did they have to change the Standing Orders? Talk about taxation without representation!

It reminds me of the crap they’re trying to enforce in Canberra with “professional standards” and training for MPs. I get, if you break the law, you get tried. But if you launched a tirade against a staffer there’s no HR to call and complain. The standard is the electorate.

Damn right. The lack of a broader perspective because of our industrialised education system is a huge mistake. That touches on what I previously complained about in regard to modern politicians. They don’t reflect a broader appreciation of a liberal arts course in their policies, their character, or their rhetoric.

I’ll gladly support requiring all graduates having to demonstrate competence in arts subjects, if in exchange all graduates have to have passed a first year unit in logic, set theory, and the elementary functions. In particular, they have to understand frequency and phase, so they can clearly see the idiocy of renewables.

Unvaccinated people will be banned from State Parliament but MPs will be exempt under a directive that comes into effect next week.

This shows in ‘democracy’ – which is what we’ve suddenly lurched into almost without noticing (a 50+1 suicide pact all powerful state with no external limitations) – a requirement for protection is a people who have a significant group of organisable belligerent lunatics in their ranks (lunatics from the bugman establishment’s perspective). It’s urban mob vs non-urban mob. And QLD can organise a mob and a half.

Democratic societies are violent and ugly. The threat of violence by the mob posing as the state is naked, and the threat of violence by mobs – directed at people who refuse to accept the 50+1 ‘democractic’ suicide pacts of the government, or people forming defensive mobs in the form of flash mobs, cults, guilds and fraternal groups who operate as mini states within states and try to protect and shield the people in them will be daily life.

Dr John Campbell, The Australian Protocol. If only it was real:

The remark about low BP at 8:00 and the enthusiasm of docs to increase volume/pressure in trauma patients was something we learned the hard way in Vietnam. Trying to get BP back to normal would blow off clots and the patient would bleed out.
(My information comes from 1990 – 2010 and may be out of date. Correct me if I’m wrong.)
The other aspect of trauma recovery was the efforts to keep the patient warm. It was felt that the ‘shocked cold patient’ was a natural response to massive trauma, and should be assisted.
If anyone has further information/studies on this, I’d be pleased to read it.

Now, if some MPs have chosen not to be vaxxed then why are their choices respected but no one elses?

And it is not as if politicians can by any stretch be described as people of good character. Perhaps one or two creep in unnoticed, but overwhelmingly they only advance in the party to even get to standing for seats by the party being assured that they are ‘sound’ – they they are like them. The party stinks of the pollie, and the pollie stinks of the party.

So their reasoning cannot be based on an ideal or a conviction. What is it?

Health Hazzard complaining that workers are being abused. The abuse is really for you, Minister, and all in the government who almost completely stuffed up the response to COVID. Masks indoors and outdoors that don’t work, experimental vaccines that were supposed to work but don’t and now need boosters. Unnecessarily harsh travel restrictions which prevented husband and wife from going to the regions even when they or a family member had a house there. But top of the list should be the complete rejection of early treatment with known antiviral drugs.
Don’t come to us now saying we have to have a booster to be completely or at least substantially immunised. You had your chance, you said two jabs did the job, and now it’s all booster b/s. Then there’s the walk-back of PCR tests, probably responsible for a lot of false positives. What about natural immunity? No promotion at all of blood tests to see if we already have the antibodies. Silence.

For as long as I can remember communists and “the left” have harped on and on and about “democracy”. When I was young it was a given that this was a Good Thing. Who could be against democracy? Democracy as sold was everyone having a right to vote and a right to have their say. Those stodgy old dinosaurs and institutions who didn’t like it were just holding onto their power and preventing us from having democractic utopia!

But this is what they were actually talking about. What we’re living in right now. A mob. Total power of the mob and they control the mob. No undemocratic “institutions” full of unelected old white men to stop them.

“Democracies” – as imagined by the leftwing and what we are now living in are inherently feminine in that they reward people with emotional and unrelenting verbal skills and networking ability and emoting over people who are inclined to risk taking, stoicism, introspection, competence and principles. They are materialist in that they reward “moving on” daily to a new novelty instead of moving slowing and allowing introspection and mulling over of options, and they are by nature passive aggressive to overtly menacing, violent and arbitrary.

An unwanted sexual comment brought him four years of anguish. Is that enough punishment?

Kylar Loussikian

An hour ago December 23, 2021

Is public notoriety, anxiety and the end of a marriage sufficient punishment for someone found to have drunkenly touched a female colleague’s head at a work dinner before telling her to “suck my dick”?

According to NSW Chief Justice Tom Bathurst and two other Court of Appeal judges: yes.

This week – almost five years after an incident at Sydney’s Doltone House in Pyrmont – the NSW Bar Association lost its long-running attempt at having the conduct of one of its members labelled “professional misconduct”.

At the heart of the Court of Appeal’s decision was the serious stress the man – known only as EFA due to suppression orders – has suffered since the July 2017 event. It was an incident, according to witnesses, that left the woman visibly shaken, her hands trembling.

But, despite his anonymity, the matter had left EFA dealing with “a level of public notoriety and humiliation”, “a four-year period of anxiety”, had severely impacted his mental health, had ended his marriage, had left him with higher professional insurance bills, and had “an unquantifiable but real and significant impact” on his work, the court found.

“The consequence of these conclusions is that, the (Bar Association)’s appeal should be dismissed,” Chief Justice Tom Bathurst, Justice Mark Leeming and Acting Justice Carolyn Simpson wrote in a decision handed down on Tuesday.

In particular, they said, it was some of the savage commentary from the legal profession’s most read publications that sealed the deal.

Justinian, the legal gossip sheet run by former Sydney Morning Herald columnist Richard Ackland, was accused of “misstatement” for reporting that EFA had forced “her head in the direction of the table”. “For his trouble (EFA) has incurred no fine, no ban from practice – not even public ignominy,” the write-up – accurately – continued.

Lawyers Weekly – “apparently purports to be a professional online publication” – had more egregiously written that EFA had pushed the “female practitioner’s head towards (his) crotch”, the judgement read.

More bizarrely was the publication J News which – in an apparent poor-quality auto-generated piece headlined “Sydney Barrister in ‘Religious Fun Greetings’ Ignores Law for Imitating Oral Sex with Female Clerk” – wrote: “This incident is a criminal attempt by EFE (sic) to include (her) in the evening as a jockey (sic) greeting with his friend after consuming enough alcohol in the evening.”

So what did happen that evening?

According to the female practitioner’s initial statement, EFA was “standing over me as I was sitting in my chair … He took hold of the back of my head with one hand and started to move my head to and from his crotch area. While he did this he said ‘suck my dick’.”

“This went on for about three seconds,” she wrote.

“It took me a few seconds to get over the shock of what was happening.

“After I had pulled away (EFA) said to me in an attempted humorous way ‘oh don’t complain about me to the Bar Association’.”

EFA, on the other hand, denied wrong doing.

“I did not say either of the statements attributed to me, I did not physically push her face towards my crotch nor did I guide (her) head to my crotch,” he wrote in his affidavit.

“I have no doubt that I said something which caused (her) offence for which I am truly sorry … I also accept that I briefly touched the back of her head and I do appreciate that it was an unwelcome touch. I did not intend for it to be sexual in nature.”

The NSW Civil and Administrative Tribunal, in December 2020, spent considerable time pouring over CCTV footage of the incident “at close quarters”, “at real time speed, in slow motion and, in parts, frame by frame”.

Not sure if already noted, but QLD’s CHO has today said everyone will get Omicron and the virus will then become endemic. Is that the first piece of common sense we’ve heard from a sitting CHO/CMO in nearly two years?

Off the topic de jour but worth noting…

I hope this retired Colonel and former Trump defense adviser is wrong about Biden’s plans for the Ukraine, but I’m sure he’s right abour the Russian army’s fighting capabilities:

Russia’s conventional-ground-force superiority stems, in part, from the strategic advantage of fighting close to Russia. Its potency is also a reflection of President Vladimir Putin’s insistence on fundamental defense reform and reorganization. The reform process involved years of struggle to expel old generals who resisted change and install new, resolute fighting forces, composed of young, single men with a profound sense of Russian patriotism and toughness.

A podcast mentioned a VORB factor in figuring out the relative success or failure in dealing with covid in the US on a state basis.

Leaving out NY because of the fuck up with the retirement homes, if your state has a low vaccination count, , there’s a lot of obesity, it’s a republican state and there are lots of blacks, you will do worse in dealing with covid.

V = Vaccination
0 = Obesity
R = Republican
B = Blacks.

It seems to work, at first blush.

Morrison might be disliked by the premiers because he and Frydenberg have been blaming them for everything gone wrong while taking credit for the good outcomes. There seems to have been a change in Morrison over recent weeks. Can’t describe it but he seems more muted and less plucky.

Perth weather: Christmas heatwave prompts fire warning
The West Australian
Thu, 23 December 2021 2:21PM
Sarah Steger

A fire weather warning has been issued for parts of WA as residents across the State brace for a record-breaking festive season heatwave — and a potential tropical cyclone.

The scorchingly hot conditions are expected to hit Perth on Friday — the first of a string of extremely hot days forecast for areas as far north as Shark Bay down to about Walpole this Christmas.

The Bureau of Meteorology has warned residents along that large west coast strip that the mercury will top 39C on Christmas Eve, 42C on Christmas Day and Boxing Day and 40C on Monday.

It will be the hottest three-day Christmas period since records began more than 100 years ago, overtaking the previous record from 2007 when the average temperature across those three days was 40.3C.

Fire weather warning – as sure as God made little green apples, there will be some fvcking moron who doesn’t understand what a “fire weather warning” is.

I thought some here still insist that a significant part of the community, 80% in fact, won’t get covid.

Only the unvaxxed. The vaxxed appear to get their natural coronavirus immunity reset. I suspect it’s because the vaccines are causing the relevant lymphocytes to die once they dock with the spike protein.

The problem with the vaccination is it is an instant flood of active agent, which is ok for antibody production but very bad for killer T cells. The T cells dock to the cells they think are infected then go boom. Result no more of that variety until they are regenerated. Whereas in a viral infection you have an initial very low number of spike proteins which build up as the virus starts to replicate. So the existing corona-virus attuned T cells can catch and kill them without depleting their population too much. Hence the 80% with natural immunity based on Diamond Princess data. Unfortunately the vaxxed have lost that, it looks like.

Milder reports the WSJ.

New evidence that the Omicron variant may cause significantly less serious disease than earlier strains emerged, as new Covid-19 infections hit records in some parts of the U.S. on Wednesday.

Researchers at the University of Edinburgh in Scotland concluded that the risk of hospitalization with Omicron was two-thirds lower than with earlier variants. Separately, South African researchers said they estimate the risk of hospitalization at around 70% to 80% lower.

The findings, published in papers that haven’t been peer reviewed, are promising signs that immunity from prior infection or vaccination offers substantial protection against severe illness.

In South Africa, Waasila Jassat, a public-health specialist at the National Institute of Communicable Diseases, said there had been no significant increases in admissions to critical-care wards recorded over the past four weeks when Omicron has driven case numbers in the country sharply higher.

It could be the story of 22

Someone said it sounds like the regular cold.

Sore joints and muscle pain.
Runny, stuffed up nose.
Cough and sneezing.
Slightly elevated fever.

Amazing that people here are still falling for the paradigm.

There is no immunity to covid because there is no virus.

The vaccine is toxic but it doesn’t improve or ameliorate any immunity we might have to the non-existent virus.

The numbers/proportions of cases and hospitalizations and deaths with or due to covid are meaningless artifacts of how testing is targeted, done and collected. There is rarely ever any useful information in epidemiology and that goes 100 fold for covid.

If you can’t personally observe it, you’re better off ignoring it. You can (and many people have) observe vaccine injuries (ie temporal associations). You cannot do the same for virus injuries. We will never know the magnitude of vaccine injuries but we do know you’re infinitely more likely to be harmed by the vaccine than the virus.

That’s true. The hospitals could do a few quick tests and send the fuckers home though. I’d imagine, the most important would be the oxygen saturation rate.

They have indeed forbidden us to dance for our own good

Beryl G was such a stupid hideously ugly harpy that she would happily upscreech at her infuriating interminable presstitute conferences that “singing and dancing are still banned”.

The most useless obnoxious destructive dunderheads in human history – and we’re blessed with them.

I’ve given up even contemplating what the hell we’ve evidently done to deserve them. To paraphrase that noted philosopher, C3PO, “We seem to have been made to suffer”.

Imminent overproportional death and destruction for all. Allegedly.

Mandatory passport examinations for work and anywhere fun.

All except MPs that is, who get to accrue pension time and assorted salary windfalls without disclosing a thing. Barnaby Joyce is in favour of this, which we know because he said to make MPs do what normal Australians do ‘would just lead to arguments’.

That hypocritical, dishonest cretin can stay in the US forever, as far as I’m concerned. Someone here said earlier that his family’s Christmas would be disadvantaged otherwise, and that he’d been ‘stitched up’.

Well. Given that hundreds of thousands of families and millions of people in this wide brown land are not only set up for a less than ideal festive season, but have had their families ripped to bits, homes and businesses lost and lives’ work set on fire by Joyce and his ilk, I will now turn to bern’s immortal words of several weeks back:

GET FUCKED BARNABY.

In SA 3 days ago;

We’ve had no deaths [among vaccinated people] attributed to omicron.

HIV is still their biggest health problem.

We have about 8 million people who are infected with HIV, and although we have the largest antiretroviral treatment (ART) program in the world, at least a third of individuals with HIV aren’t on ART and are immunocompromised. People who are HIV positive, particularly those who aren’t on ART, are more likely to die or be hospitalized from COVID.

The problem is the people showing up at hospitals who should be treated at home.

I understand that many with fairly mild Covid symptoms are going to their GPs who won’t see them & tell them to go to hospital “if they are ill’.But because of the panic that has been whipped up, I don’t blame people for them going to ER, even if, by normal standards, they are not really of hospital level illness.

On the other and, people are also told, after getting positive PCR, to go home & go to hospital only “if you are ill”. It is confusing to people, who are already panicky. So, not surprising that ER in most public hospitals are at crisis level.

It is equally not surprising if, in the past, unfortunates who have co-morbidities become seriously ill, and sometimes die at home, because of this confusion. It is also tragic that a minority have in the past become seriously ill unexpectedly on the 8th day (of Alpha & Delta variants) with cytokine storm because of this lack of information from “our experts”.

The whole saga is a serious indictment of our so-called “experts.”

There was a “body recovery” operation on Goose Green that underscored the deadliness of Vietnam era trauma treatment. They found a lot of men who had very low BP and who were very cold but alive thanks to not having been pumped full of plasma and warmed up.

Yes, I think that’s where the penny finally dropped – several wounded on a patrol had to be left in the open because efforts to recover them were stopped as the Argies shot at rescuers. They were finally given aid after about ?10 hours in the snow when the Paras went in with the bayonet, refusing to accept surrenders from the Argentinian troops.
