There is even an aviator chick here, JC that carries a gun in her car.Sadly, only part of that is true, bespoke.
Aviation, yes, although not currently. Have done plenty of shooting in my lifetime, but a firearm in the vehicle – not any more. Nice thought though.

After I retired early last year, I’ve was playing Bridge in a club regularly until the June lockdown. Even though the government has lifted the vax requirement I still can’t go back because the club itself is insisting on people being “double vaxxed”.
Today I got a glimpse of why that might be. I ran into someone who had I both partnered and played against quite a few times. She was coming opposite me on the footpath and gave me such a wide berth that she was more in danger of getting run over on the road than coming into contact with any of my germs. I might as well have been a leper. Absolutely brainwashed.

BushkidTake it easy. It wasn’t meant as a slight in anyway. I took your blog name as somehow indicative of a dude rather than a gal.
Definitely not taken amiss, JC! Just being a bit verbose at the end of the day with a Scotch under the belt. Waxing a tad lyrical, if you will.
I still feel like a kid, grew up in the bush, still live close enough to it and definitely work here. Hence the name. -
Rode a Honda scooter because Stevens in Elizabeth St were out of Vespas. (Stevens now gone, following covid.)
The licence for a 50cc at the time was the same as for that of a 500 cc.
Gave it away after two crashes when a truck in Port Melbourne and then a car in Yarraville collected us. My father rode a DKW around Melbourne with me in a side car. Not cool, at the time. -
Scanned through, as I was a bit occupied this arvo.
Terrible performance today. Just terrible. Someone said:
mavericks like us
and there was not one – not one – Top Gun reference. And then, to make matters worse, the thread drifted to what and what is not gay. Nobody – not one single person – mentioned the volleyball scene in Top Gun as the epitome of gaiety. A missed segue.
Angry, but more disappointed.

Upticks.
It’s not the actual upticking, or even the numbers of upticks – dickless or not.
The heart of the matter is the uptick expectation. FOMO on upticks, as though one is entitled to be upticked at any given time.
When the upticks don’t come – at first it’s anger, then denial. I didn’t want your stupid upticks anyway. Upticking is dumb.
Bargaining is next. If someone else is upticked, it’s for something that I was indirectly involved in – so it’s sort of an upticking. Like an assist in basketball.
Finally, there is acceptance. I will never be upticked to the level at which I should be. This is the fault of others, not me, and I will move on from the entire tedious upticking discussion which I started in the first place.

President Donald J. Trump’s political committees have over $122,000,000 “Cash on Hand” after raising over $51,000,000 during the period between July 1st and December 31st, 2021.
President Trump’s continued and unprecedented pace of fundraising shows that the future of the Republican Party in 2022 and beyond remains, perhaps, the strongest in our Country’s history—the MAGA movement is here to stay! This massive fundraising accomplishment does not include the hundreds of millions of dollars raised by other candidates and organizations who use President Trump’s name, likeness, endorsement, and America First Agenda as a platform for their efforts, further strengthening the movement he began in 2016.
Taylor Budowich, Director of Communications for President Trump and Save America PAC, said, “President Donald J. Trump has built a political organization that continues to capture and define the future of the Republican Party. From the massive and unprecedented Save America Rallies, to these record-breaking fundraising numbers, there is no question that the MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN (MAGA!) wave is set to crash across the Midterms and carry forward all the way through 2024. In the history of our Country there has never been a more reliable or winning endorsement of candidates than that of President Trump. President Trump is incredibly well positioned to look beyond November as the need for his leadership has never been more important.”
Key Fundraising Numbers from Donald J. Trump’s Political Committees:• All Committees: Over $122,000,000 “Cash on Hand”
• Total Raised: Over $51,000,000
• Average Donation: $31
• Total number of Donations: 1,631,648
• Percent of Donations under $200: 98.6%
• Save America PAC has contributed $1,350,000 to like-minded causes and endorsed candidates
The entities will file with the Federal Election Commission today for the reporting period of 7/1/21 through 12/31/21. -
I have never watched Top Gun.
I just looked at the volleyball scene.
Is it all that gay?

Someone posted the other day they had a Yamaha racing bike in their shed.
At one stage I had one for a daily ride.
XS1100R. Built to win the 6 hour.
Why I got rid of it I’ll never know.
When I get my final delayed surgery (thanks Chen you psycho bitch)
I’ll get something of a decent size.
I like the look of the BMW Urban GS. -
Why ‘Top Gun’ Features That ‘Soft Porn’ Volleyball Scene
Director Tony Scott didn’t choreograph the scene or even clearly plan out his shots. Instead, he went in with a broad concept.
“I didn’t have a vision of what I was doing other than just doing soft porn,” the director admitted on the Top Gun 30th anniversary DVD (via The Wrap). “I knew I had to show off all the guys, but I didn’t have a point of view, so I just shot the shit out of it. I got the guys to get all their gear off and their pants and sprayed them in baby oil.”
Scott’s theory was that female moviegoers would appreciate the well-toned bodies the same way male viewers ogled bikini-clad eye candy. His inspiration came from Bruce Weber, a popular fashion photographer.
Adding to the scene’s ridiculousness was Kenny Loggins’ “Playing With the Boys” – a poppy, cheesy affair that was a far cry from the singer’s other Top Gun contribution, the adrenaline-pumping “Danger Zone.”
Despite much mocking, the volleyball game has had its defenders. Rossovich, for one, believed the scene served a clear narrative purpose. “I used the scene to cement Slider’s bond with Iceman,” the actor explained. “I was holding him all the time, sticking to like glue almost in a weird way. Because we were teammates.”

JC, the Stevens people might be operating from the suburbs. Not sure what the entrepreneurial outlook is for motor bikes of the Vespa variety. Lots of silent electric killer bicycles in the cbd, rocketing on road and footpath, manic students at the handlebars, in a hurry to feed the overfed. But hope that the Stevens can continue.

Clot shot complication or coincidence?
Month after the shot my forearm broke out into a very “ viral” watery blistered rash.
By day 2 it was wrist to elbow and I’m thinking shingles.
Didn’t spread any further or get the pain normally associated with it though.
Itchy as anything and settled down with antihistamines after a week.Bastard thing.

I think from memory the son of one older brothers took over and he now runs it. There was Peter and Steven – hence Peter Stevens. The younger bro I grew up with was pushed out and he ran a motorcycle gear business called Monza Imports from what I last recall. The father – the old patriarch – lived to about 103.

The INSANE Origins of the “Mass Graves” Story
Feb 1, 2022

Got distracted ; there are Roman ruins in the old port, under an apartment block near the hotel de ville but even though they are supposed to be open, they were not.
Then I popped into les augustines which is now Saint Victor’s in the care of the Jesuits it seems and with midday mass so I thought I would kill time til then and catch the navette after lunch.
Wandered across to the Bourse which is just a big shopping mall but with bonus ancient Greek and Roman ruins around
long dry harbour to which the museum of Marseille has been added.
They have the remains of four ancient Greek and Roman boats recovered from the harbour inside.
The area was a carpark for three Corbusier style high rises built ehind in the early 1950s, the shopping centre of more recent vintage , a bit more urban renewal of insalubrious accommodation but without the rounding up and internment of inhabitants that accompanied the destruction of the old port area.
Worth a visit if you’re in the area.what not to do in Marseille even if unesco world heritage listed

One after the other they are piling on to Rogan.
They can peel themselves off then. He’s promised equal time to opposing views when he has a ‘controversial’ guest.
But why should he? None of the MSM do, in fact opposing views are deemed unacceptable according to True Dough.

Discussion last night, about what a pack of ladies front bottoms, Department of Veterans Affairs can be. I’m not denying that fact, but there’s a book been written, “The Repat Racket”, by one Malcolm Smith, outlining some of the shonkier claims made against DVA – a tap on the shoulder can leave a man a nervous wreck for life…a deceased veteran can have three widows…..

Music legend Glenn Wheatley signs off at 74
Andrew McMillen
National music writer
1 minute ago February 1, 2022
No CommentsProminent music industry figure Glenn Wheatley died in Melbourne on Tuesday, aged 74, from complications with Covid.
Wheatley’s career spanned decades, and saw him performing on stage before later ceding the spotlight to others as a highly successful artist manager.
Through his work at the highest levels of the Australian music business, Wheatley made a substantial impact on popular culture.
He was a skilled operator who was well-connected and widely liked, both here and abroad.
Born in Brisbane in 1948, Wheatley rose to prominence in the late 1960s as bassist in The Masters Apprentices, the Jim Keays-fronted band that became one of the most popular rock acts in the country with hit songs including Because I Love You, Turn Up Your Radio and Undecided.
Few musicians made the transition from artistry to the other side of the negotiating table better than Wheatley, who earned his first million dollars in the 1970s after he hung up the bass guitar to manage artists.
His first major success as a manager was with the Little River Band, which benefited greatly from Wheatley’s knowledge of the American music business in particular.
Wheatley produced the band’s 1975 debut album, and under his guidance Little River Band enjoyed consistent commercial chart success in the US and became one of Australia’s most successful rock exports.
After John Farnham replaced Glenn Shorrock as lead singer of the Little River Band in 1982, Wheatley began managing his old friend’s career and completely turned around both of their lives, earning each of them a fortune.
But it took a major leap of faith, as Wheatley famously mortgaged his house to finance the recording of Farnham’s 12th album, Whispering Jack.
The former teen pop idol was 37 at the time of its release in October 1986, and if Farnham’s career wasn’t quite on the skids, he wasn’t particularly in favour.
Yet Wheatley’s gamble turned out to be one of the smartest ever taken in the history of Australian pop music.

I’m not denying that Shonks have taken advantage of DVA.
However I have had dealings on my behalf and on behalf of others.
In their charter if their is any doubt it is to the benefit of the Veteran.
They should live up to that.
And they’re touchy bastards.
The assessors and tribunal members I mean.
And they still owe me 14 cents. -
On 80s flicks.
Be on the lookout for Highlander fans in Foot-is-cray. The Hun:
Grave robbers who stole a human head from a Melbourne cemetery have sparked a major police probe.
Detectives spent Tuesday at the Footscray General Cemetery after being called to investigate the mystery of the head’s removal from a casket at a mausoleum.
As first revealed on heraldsun.com.au, it is understood the head was stolen late last week.

And this one I am saving for my younger daughter if she ever decides to get married.
Cheesy? Yes, absolutely. But so true about a father’s love. Well, mine anyway. And yes, it can still make me teary. Because even now I can’t believe it was 35 years ago when I held that little bundle and she looked up at me and actually smiled.
Oh, buggerit, I think I need to go to bed.

The Oz is doing some decent investigative work into the Administrative Appeals Tribunal.
They’ve done a couple of in depth pieces recently (one was almost word for word what Anthony Klan produced independently).
I look forward to them going into the Labor appointees to the AAT & their howler decisions.
So far it’s just been the Lib appointees. -

Great Juxtaposition!
1. CBS Mornings suggests that Joe Rogan is killing people with his discussion of Covid and Ivermectin.
2. New Hampshire lawmakers propose bill to allow pharmacists to issue Ivermectin without prescription! -
On Wheatley’s prison sentence. It was the icing on the cake after bankruptcy and losing everything. I remember his wife, Gaynor, talking candidly of the shame of having the sheriffs come to the house – they took everything that wasn’t nailed down, including the children’s toys. Then the case and prison.
