That said, they’ve mixed with aristos and the hugely wealthy (venn diagram there) due to his work as a senior master at a very prestigious boys school with many aristo parents. Their tales about some of these parents, added to my other rather bemused ethnographic experiences with occasional Hooray Henry types (as my husband calls those he knows from Cambridge days), lead to my views about the tendencies of some arrogant aristos who still feel a cut above.

In a sense I can quite like this noted aristo directness of saying exactly what you think, assured of being unassailable, it is actually quite Aussie in style, but not when it reaches the point of rudeness.

As a result every single person who consented but didn’t want to voluntarily do either and all who supported any alleged mandate is equally guilty as are the managers, CEOs, Governors, Mayors and other politicians who set and enforced same. I think the old pathway was CT4 >>> Macchi >>> Fast Jets.

Sounds about right, but I think from the late 90s to early 2000s it has been CT4 –> PC9 –> Hawk (For Lead-In Fighter Training or LIFT) –> Type training for Trashies/Knuckleheads/AEW&C/Maritime Patrol and so forth.

And the CT4 bit went when BAe Systems at Tamworth lost the Basic Flight Training School contract and it went back to East Sale at the end of 2019. Virgin established their basic flying school at Tamworth in the old BAe site instead. So not all was lost.

It’s now PC-21 for basic flight training for all services in East sale, and for RAAFies, PC-21 all the way through to LIFT.
