Some of the parents may have been armed – and it was a gun free zone.

In the midst of a crime it is more important than ever to obey rules to make sure we do not surrender to anarchy altogether.

Considering that the cops apparently weren’t doing too much and that random shots could still be heard coming from the school, the cops might have had to shoot me to keep me out.
The cops in charge at the scene will have to answer for their inaction.

You’ve got it ass backwards.
The Cops are a corrupt institution from the get go, Crimes had to be invented to give them work, eventually everyone becomes a criminal, or, The Offender, as they like to say.

So a kid turns a school into a war zone and everyone wants to blame the police. In fact the very next day Trump told the NRA rally that what’s needed is teachers with guns. Why not just give the kids AR15s? Astonishing the corruption of US politics is such that military weapons are treated as a sacred right.

As discussed on a previous thread, any comment commencing with “So” it is likely everything following is either a fabrication or a verballing.

Correction of the above:
1. A kid turned a gun-free zone into a free-fire zone.
2. Indisputably teachers & other school staff, if armed, would deter shooters.
3. AR-15 is not a ‘military’ weapon.
4. Owning guns is actually a constitutional right.

11.32 shooter hurdles over school gate and gains access to the school building through the entrance door which was propped open due to teacher trying to get their mobile phone.

There is only one way in through the classroom door. Any attempt to enter or look at the classroom are shot at by the shooter.

So let me get this straight:
-an unemployed mental case bus a $7000 rifle for cash
-crashes his truck outside the school.
-just outside where he crashes a woman unlocks a door to the school, which allows him entry.
-after firing outside for 12 minutes, the school which weekly practices active shooter scenarios and school lockdowns does nothing and leaves all the doors open to the classrooms.
-he comes into the school and locks the outside door behind him preventing anyone getting in.
-goes into a class with children and starts shooting them.
-police wait outside preventing any parents from entering.
-police don’t enter after 1 hour.

This whole thing stinks. It sounds like a wind up to incident.

Frank: the AR15 is an assault rifle. By definition, it is designed to kill a lot of people quickly.

Salvatore: if – and its a big if – a copy of the Colt weapon used by military (in this case manufactured by DDM) is not a military weapon then its merely a convenient fig leaf. It is designed for military purposes. Unless of course you think a weapon designed to kill age numbers of people has some domestic purpose?

You don’t seriously think people want their kids taught by people carrying guns?

As for the US Constitutional argument, it seems likely their purpose was to ensure that a militia could be armed in defence of the republic. Not that a youth could buy a weapon with which to slaughter teachers and 9 year olds.

Seriously, what possible purpose is there in pretending that owning a gun is a sacred right? It is patently ridiculous and the evidence is in. In the US, the politicians holding up gun laws are all in the pay of the NRA, which has been successful in promoting the idea that everyone is Billy The Kid. Murderous fantasy.

The populace are wise not to be disarmed.
The same false flags and other programs have been implemented to disarm the populace in UK, NZ and Australia. They have been tried many times in the US (isn’t it strange that school shootings only started after Columbine and not in the 200 years before).

Once the population is disarmed they are sheep for evil power hungry people to treat how they want (see Davos) to “create a better world”.
Mao disarmed his people before the Long March and killed 10s of millions.
Stalin disarmed his people.
Disarming the populace is needed by elite as they fear the populace, and rightly so as evil fears Good as they want to hide in darkness to do their deeds, but eventually they must venture into the light. And if the populace is disarmed and they own all the weapons they can venture into the light and survive.
Anyone wanting to disarm the populace is either an ignorant fool or knowingly working for the enemy who is Satan.
Do you think the lockdowns would have worked here with an armed populace? Perhaps, but the police would not have been able to be brutal with people, it would be a kinder interaction as power balance is there.

Australia is a lesson in not giving up your guns.

The idea of the second amendment is that people will always be sufficiently armed so as to be able to defend themselves against the government…

Which means, if you take the wording at face value, that citizens of the United States should be able to legally purchase any kind of weapon or firearm.
This would include automatic weapons, RPG’s and grenades. (These are illegal for the general public under existing laws, overriding the 2nd amendment)

If the idea is to be able to defend yourself from government, then you should have access to the same weapons the government intends to use against you…

“The cops in charge at the scene will have to answer for their inaction.”

‘Twas a tough spot to be in – and some of the cops had kids in there too.
Hmm… go in?
You don’t know where the shooter is, but he knows where you are coming in – only one door.
No body armour, no lexan shields.
You are almost certain to be shot, probably fatally.
Does that give the shooter your gun, ammo and radio and make it worse?
Then there’s the recent history of charges against cops for doing what was previously considered their duty.
And they’ve gotta do this on the spot, in real time.
Hard. Very hard.
Still, that is the job… I certainly don’t envy them in that position!

Dredd: Mao followed Stalin’s strategies to the logical conclusion. Both were committed to the use of armed force and ideology. You might have heard the phrase “engineers of the human soul”, used first by Stalin at a writers’ conference headed by Maxime Gorky. Mao took that idea a step further.
Today’s dictators are heavy users of social media – Putin, Xi, Trump, etc – all seek to shape minds rather than impose themselves by force. Given the astonishing horrors faced by parents in America, you’d have to say that the swamp critters of the NRA and DDM etc are at least as dangerous as the demagogues.

“Astonishing the corruption of US politics is such that military weapons are treated as a sacred right.”

You should learn a bit about it before you speak.
An AR15 is NOT a military weapon, and not an “assault rifle”.
Yes, it is based on one, but the “assault rifle” can be in one of three “modes” – full auto, “burst” (typically three shots), and single shot (semi-auto). The civilian version is semi-auto ONLY.
An AR15 can be chambered in anything from 5.56 (.223) to 45 (or thereabouts).
For civilian sale and use, it is a simple long arm semi-auto.
Light, relatively cheap, and one of the most popular long arms in the US – there are literally millions of these in circulation in the US.

Oh, and such rifles account for well less than 5% of “mass shooting” events – most of those are done using hand guns.

The shooter actually did (as he would have to have done) pass the federally mandated background check, which was “clean” (or he wouldn’t have gotten the weapon).

Grow up – the guy was an insane sociopath. No, he shouldn’t have gotten a firearm, but he did. System failure, not firearm issue. Maybe even a social/cultural issue – several people knew what he was like, but no-one talked to the local Federal Fireams Licensed dealer and said “I’m worried about this kid” because if they had, he likely wouldn’t have gotten the weapon (even if purchased on-line, it needs to go via an FFL dealer for delivery, the background check is mandated, and most FFL’s won’t sell if they are concerned about the buyer, even if they pass the check).

Indeed.
And Biden’s “You couldn’t own cannons” is a lie – the US Government hired merchant ships with cannon back in the day!
As Tim Pool points out, in theory the 2nd amendment should allow a citizen to own nuclear, chemical and biological weapons too. It says “…shall not be infringed” and there is no asterisk saying “except for…” anywhere. If you don’t like it, change the amendment (which they probably should for those cases, but they haven’t yet)

There is also the deterrent factor. A shooter is less likely to attack an armed school than a gun-free zone.

Let’s not forget the Police’s fine work prior to Port Arthur, they did everything they could to avoid a confrontation with Bryant prior to his murders.

We also had a similar experience near where I grew up, one of the farmers steadily lost his marbles, which included shooting at neighbouring houses and vehicles when he was going off. The local cops did their very best to avoid doing anything about the situation.

Fortunately it never escalated.
