The practice of calling the PM’s squeeze “The First Lady” needs to be knocked on the head.

Jockey Sonja Wiseman set to return to racing in Darwin just over a week after she was bashed by a group of 10-15 men (Sky News, 5 Aug)

Darwin Jockey Sonja Wiseman will make a stunning return to racing this Saturday just over a week after she was brutally bashed outside her home.

The 31-year-old was hospitalised after she was set on by a group of 10-15 men who ruthlessly assaulted her as she went to fetch something from her car at about 12:30am last Friday.

The attackers bashed Wiseman in the face with a rock, which broke her nose in three places, cut her lip and smashed her teeth.

“These men were literally like a pack of coyotes going on a hunt. They then smashed me in the face with a rock, broke my nose in three places, cut my lip and smashed my teeth.”

Following the brutal attack Wiseman’s social media accounts were flooded with messages of support from well-wishers.

“I’m so sorry what happened to you, how traumatising. I hope they all get serious jail time. Get well soon,” commented one supporter.

Somehow I doubt that will happen. Weirdly there is no mention anywhere in the story about who the men were and what they look like. It’s a mystery!

Beautifully instructive watching the hypersonic speed at which the WA Union thugs folded the blackfellas’ rights tent in favour of preserving their parliamentary salaries.
At least the WA lot were open about their plans and passed actual legislstion. In QLD it is done by regulation and in secret.
And in Victoria – who knows?
If Albanese wasn’t so arrogant and ignorant of the Australian people he could learn valuable lessons from the WA farce. But he wont. Dangerous social volitality is certain.

PKKP traditional owners ‘angered’ and ‘betrayed’ by heritage law backdown
Hannah CrossThe West Australian

Comments

The traditional owners whose sacred cave was destroyed at the hands of Rio Tinto in 2020 have released a scathing statement in response to the State Government’s anticipated repeal of its controversial heritage laws, claiming they were not warned of the impending repeal.

Juukan Gorge, a site sacred to Puutu Kunti Kurrama and Pinikura traditional owners, was in the Hammersley Ranges, about 60km from Mt Tom Price. It showed 46,000 years of continual human occupation and a 4000-year-old genetic link to today’s traditional owners.

Miner Rio Tinto was granted ministerial consent to blast the site under the now-infamous section 18 process from the previous 1972 laws.

The ramifications rippled through the ranks of Rio Tinto and resulted in several high-profile executives stepping down over their roles in the catastrophic incident.

Puutu Kunti Kurrama and Pinikura Aboriginal Corporation chairman Terry Drage said PKKP traditional owners are “devastated and angered” by reports that the new Act — which has only been in force for one month — will be scrapped by the Cook Government.

I wish I shared your optimism. I just see the failure of the referendum as leading to a deepening of the air of smoldering resentment that’s beginning to characterize this counties relationship with the Indigenous peoples.

Already happening, as I suspect you’ve seen already being still somewhat rurally anchored.
As I said the other week my client at Walgett says it’s already put relations back a generation and for the people pushing this that’s of no consequence.
It’s power at any cost.

The “voice” and the (recently repealed ) heritage legislation have had the same effect, here. More cynical minds then mine are already suggesting the Heritage legislation will be re-introduced, after the “Voice” referendum.

You first, Peter.

Give your job and your land back to its “traditional owner”. That can be your “treaty”.

Lead by example.

Even if you have a unit in a high rise you have to give it back as well. Give everything back and go back to the lands of your European ancestors. Only then will I believe that they mean what they say.

PKKP traditional owners ‘angered’ and ‘betrayed’ by heritage law backdown

This same dynamic played out in the US with Target (most visibly) and others.

Target stocked up on the Pride month and tranny-clothes for kids and displayed it prominently in the children’s clothing department.

Norm use, emboldened by the success of the Bud Light Boycott, withdrew their custom and let Target know why.

Target then removed the offending line and found themselves now being attacked by the QWERTY people who not only abused the staff but phoned in bomb threats.

When you surrender even an inch to aggressive and ambitious activists who recognise no binding constraints on their behaviour and you try to take it back, they will become as angry as if you had stolen from them, rather than taken back what was always yours.

Target, by pandering to a vocal minority and dismissive of sensibilities of the norm or majority, ended up making enemies of both sides.

If they had done nothing at the outset they would have been fine.

Stephen Dawson denies Canberra pressured Roger Cook to back down on controversial heritage laws
Joe SpagnoloThe West Australian
Sat, 5 August 2023 11:25AM
Comments

Senior Labor minister Stephen Dawson, who was Aboriginal affairs minister before Tony Buti and after Ben Wyatt, refused to be drawn on the decision to scrap new cultural heritage laws on Saturday.

But he denied that the Federal Government had pressured the Cook Government to repeal the controversial laws.

It’s understood there were real concerns that the furore surrounding the heritage laws was turning West Australians away from the Voice to Parliament.

Asked by The West Australian whether there had been pressure from Canberra to scrap WA’s heritage laws, Mr Dawson gave a blunt: “No.”

“I don’t believe there has been any link between this legislation and the Voice made by the Commonwealth and any pressure put from the Commonwealth to scrap the legislation.”

IPCC’s New Chairman Rebukes Climate Hysteria And Misleading Claims

The Global Warming Policy Foundation (GWPF) has welcomed the rebuke of exaggerated climate hype and alarm by the IPCC’s new chairman, Professor Jim Skea.

In interviews with German news media over the weekend the new head of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) said it was wrong and misleading for climate activists to imply that temperature increases of 1.5 degrees Celsius posed an existential threat to humanity. [emphasis, links added]

“The world won’t end if it warms by more than 1.5 degrees,” Skea told Deutsche Welle.

“If you constantly communicate the message that we are all doomed to extinction, then that paralyzes people and prevents them from taking the necessary steps to get a grip on climate change,” he said.

Skea’s criticism of exaggerated climate alarm comes as he predicted the world would exceed the global warming target of 1.5 degrees Celsius above preindustrial levels, adding that governments around the world had failed to adopt sufficiently ambitious policies.

Dr. Benny Peiser, the GWPF’s director, welcomed the timely IPCC message:

“Jim Skea’s warnings about the detrimental impact of unjustified climate alarmism is a breath of fresh air and a welcome intervention. The new IPCC chairman seems to recognize that the political climate is changing fast.”

“As European governments have begun to pause, water down, and roll back Net Zero pledges and plans, developing nations have no intention to abandon their relentless use of coal, oil, and gas. The new IPCC chairman seems to have accepted that the 1.5C climate threshold and its Net Zero policy implications are no longer politically viable.”

Looks like Special Counsel Jack Smith (investigating and charging Trump) has an even more interesting history of official misconduct than most recall.

But while Attorney General Merrick Garland claims Smith has been conducting a fair and impartial investigation, his connection to protecting disgraced former IRS official Lois Lerner paints a different picture.

Smith worked with Lerner to target conservative tea party groups back in 2010. In fact, then Attorney General Eric Holder was asked to make Smith available for testimony in front of the House Oversight Committee about his role in weaponizing the powerful agency.

Why is this turd still employed by the DoJ after that criminal behavior much less in a position to continue his attacks on conservatives? (Rhetorical question of course).

Dumping heritage laws give clear air for Voice: Yes campaign director Dean Parkin
Dan Jervis-BardyThe West Australian
Sat, 5 August 2023 12:17PM
Comments

The Cook Government’s stunning decision to scrap WA’s controversial cultural heritage laws will make it simpler to sell the Voice to Parliament in the State, Yes campaign director Dean Parkin has said.

Kimberley Land Council chief executive Tyronne Garstone echoed Mr Parkin’s comments as he praised Premier Roger Cook for making the “brave decision” to abandon legislation which Aboriginal and Torres Islander people never supported.

The State’s new heritage laws had become caught up in the referendum debate, with the federal Opposition arguing the trouble-plagued rollout was a precursor to the confusion and red tape a national Voice to Parliament would bring.

Voice campaigners and the Albanese and Cook Governments have attempted to clarify the clear distinction between the two amid warnings the issue could shift Western Australians into the No camp.

Mr Parkin, who is Yes23’s campaign director, said the Cook Government’s decision to scrap the laws would provide clear air to explain the Voice.

News for you, and it’s all bad. We’ve seen the future, under the Voice, and we wouldn’t touch the Voice with a barge pole.

How about not seeing as Aboriginal people as a separate ‘race’ in the first place?
The vast majority are of mixed race, the vast majority live in urban locations, the vast majority are indistinguishable from the rest of us in culture and appearance.
I’m sick of this sins of the fathers stuff.
And I’m wholeheartedly of the opinion that this ‘pay the rent’ by stealth that only benefits a select few Aboriginals has to be submitted to public gaze.
How is income and expenditure in Aboriginal corporations accounted for? I suspect they benefit a favoured few families and nobody else gets a look it.

Third time lucky. How many open threads are there.

(Dover, if you like, remove the other two similar comments on the old thread as I messed up with my response to the Turtlehead.)

JC,
Thankyou for the nomination of the Nobel Prize.

I can’t nominate you, turtlehead as I don’t have that level of authority (yet). You ought to be a shoe in though.

Now answer the question which is inherent in my post – why don’t our leaders enact the same policies of deregulation, remove the obstacles that are distorting our economies, and pay their bills and stop spending on getting themselves re-elected?

I was responding to your silly comment suggesting there’s a direct link between the “money supply” and inflation. It’s not as easy as that, Hoolihan.

This part here:

All along, the government just continues to blame everyone else for inflation, even when inflation is caused by one thing – excessive money supply growth.
The Globalists can continue to screw the peasants and business, but only one thing can save the US economy – paying its bills and stop inflating the currency.

You’re such a dishonest idiot. You highlight the very part of your comment that I didn’t reply to.

Not this:

Do what Germany did in 1948? when Erhardt? removed all the price controls and rationing, and watch the economy adjust.

There’s no casual linkage with money supply growth and inflation – at least in western countries. It’s far more complex than that, you idiot. For instance, the Fed adopted money supply targeting against M2 growth in the 80s and abandoned it after it didn’t work. There’s all sorts of reasons prices move. Demand and supply shocks, wage stickiness symmetrically focused to the upside , velocity, market perceptions.
Lastly, do you realize the Fed along with other major central banks are undertaking quantitive tightening at the moment, progressively removing the add that was done during the GFC? You genius.

Just remain silent on these matters and stick to guarding those iodine supplies for when they are needed in the next rural Queensland nuclear holocaust.

Labor MP Patrick Gorman says heritage laws ‘State matter’, Libby Mettam says ‘no doubt’ Canberra interfered
Dan Jervis-Bardy and Joe SpagnoloThe West Australian
Sat, 5 August 2023 1:24PM
Comments

Federal Labor MP Patrick Gorman has distanced the Albanese Government from Roger Cook’s decision to scrap the State’s cultural heritage laws.

The Assistant Minister to the Prime Minister, was asked on Saturday if Anthony Albanese had spoken with WA Government about the confusion the new regime was adding to the Voice debate in the State.

The Perth MP side-stepped the question as he maintained the soon-to-be dumped legislation was a “State matter”.

“It is up to State Parliaments to decide on these sort of heritage laws – we’ll leave it to them to make their comments about what is happening with future of those laws,” Mr Gorman said.

Mr Gorman was confident that voters understood the referendum was a “standalone” question about constitutional recognition, rather than about other issues which been drawn into the debate – such as cultural heritage laws.

Mr Gorman made the comments as he led a group of Yes campaigners doorknocking households in Yokine.

The West Australian has approached Mr Albanese and Minister for Indigenous Australians Linda Burney for comment.

Assistant Minister for Indigenous Australians Malarndirri McCarthy said she hadn’t seen reports of the Cook Government’s backflip when asked on Saturday morning.

Energy Generation Quiz for Dummies

Which energy Option would you choose to provide Australia’s long term Energy future?

Option A – Unreliable, Unaffordable, Environmentally Destructive, National Security Vulnerability
• Wind turbines (foreign owned)
• PV solar panels (foreign owned)
• Lithium-ion batteries (foreign owned)
• Tenuous supply chain
• Require thousands of kilometres of new grid transmission infrastructure to connect the patchwork quilt of wind & solar generators.
• Short operational life
• Highly vulnerable to cyber attack
• Vast quantities of none re-cyclable waste at EOL (End Of Life)
• Subsidised by taxpayers.

Option B – Highly Reliable, Affordable, Environmentally Friendly, Enhances National Security
• Small modular reactors (progressively being licenced in the US & Canada).
• Ultra Super Critical coal fired power stations.
• High Energy Low Emissions coal fired power stations.
• Gas turbines
• Use existing grid transmission infrastructure.
• Long operational life
• Reliable supply chain
• Protection against cyber attack
• Minimal waste at EOL
• Not subsidised by taxpayers

Question 1 Which Option is the better long-term option for Australia?
Question 2 Which Option should our politicians be supporting?

This is a self-marking quiz.

And bear in mind, Energy Security = National Security

If Biden doesn’t fall over dead by then I wouldn’t put it past the Dems running him again.

But, I expect to see the regulars (Warren, Buttigieg, Klobuchar) to give it a shot as well as some other lesser known Dem govs and mayors (Pritzker, Cooper, Raimondo, Whitmer, Murphy, Landrieu) and of course the perennial looser candidate of colour Stacey Abrams.

I see RFK Jr as a 3rd party guy right now and I hope he does try it.

Zat, RFK would be their great white hope, but they do it, I think.

It would be interesting that if he did run as third party to which side he’d peel votes from, including indeps.

I really believe, the demented old crook is done and won’t be running.

What about Crooked Hillary? I’m not kidding. The beast is currently a spiritedly 75.

Here’s what I reckon at this stage (and of course it could change).

I reckon the Republican vote total will be absolutely massive this time around and Trump could actually take a majority of the black vote if he plays it well. This is personal for the Republican voters now and no amount of cheating can stop the onslaught.

This misuse of the equals sign must not go uncorrected.
The two labels are not synonymous, they are not equal.
Many ingredients are necessary and are combined to manifest national security.
It is more correct to say that if you have national security you must have already got energy security. National security implies energy security.
i.e. national security => energy security.
or with HTML, national security ⇒ energy security. (use “⇒” )

Five nuclear-powered subs to call Rockingham home by 2027 under $368 billion AUKUS deal
Hannah CrossThe West Australian
Sat, 5 August 2023 2:50PM
Comments

Five nuclear-powered submarines from allied navies will call Rockingham home by 2027 in the new AUKUS deal, one of WA’s top submariner bosses has revealed.

The USS North Carolina has surfaced at naval base HMAS Stirling in the first visit from a Virginia-class nuclear-powered submarine since Australia’s pathway to acquiring nuclear-powered submarines under the $368 billion AUKUS deal was first detailed in March.

Australian Submarine Agency director general vice admiral Jonathan Mead said it would be one of many, more regular visits from Australia’s American and British naval counterparts as the three countries collaborate on growing the Royal Australian Navy’s nuclear submarine capabilities.

“An increased flow of submarines will be coming to Australia and then by 2027, we would look to be forward operating up to four US and one United Kingdom submarine from this very base (HMAS Stirling),” the Vice Admiral said.

RAN submariners will board the 115m Virginia-class submarine during the USS North Carolina’s visit to build on what is already a long-standing alliance of knowledge sharing, said US Navy Rear Admiral Chris Cavanaugh, Commander, Submarine Group 7.

That should bring on terminal cases of apoplexy among the Greens.

There’s an old seasonal creek (now inside a pipe) across the back of my block, running down to a larger creek that runs into the Yarra, I probably should be grateful, being on a 1200 square metre block I’m not up for having all the soil sieved in case there’s a knapped flint somewhere.

There’s videos on YouTube of people using such water sources to power their homes. Run the stream through an appropriate impeller and there might be a useful amount of energy with an intermediate battery bank. I sold a couple of old non-working Fisher & Paykel clothes washers on eBay once. The buyer says the main motors in them are excellent for making generators once the electronics expire.

Who the F is “Drills” ?

Our guess is as good as yours Karen Blix. How’s the angry letter business doing, you big cry baby.

Guiseppe the Pursuer:
Guiseppe the Harasser, Haranguer, Pursuer can’t get me out of his head and the reason for this is when there was/is full-on warfare, he has never been able to beat me. Not once. .Now, of course, he has an Everest sized grudge he has to haul around. He cannot handle being mocked and ends up in a simpering mess on the floor.

We already know precedent has been established so slime your way to Dover’s email account and demand I am banned or you will withhold funds. That’s you goal, isn’t it, you rapacious writhing blob of excrement!

Everyone here should be actively contributing to the NO campaign, as discussed previously, see volunteerforno.com.au.

Went for a couple of drinks at the pub yesterday evening, on the way to the recycling centre, bloke pulls me up to have a look at the T shirt – The Voice Isn’t the End of Negotiations – it’s the Starting Point of the Next Round of Demands – wants to take a photo. Conversation very supportive, well in line with 80% of those taking part.
This thing is going to get a caning in the country and the suburbs away from the capitols. But it’s going to pass in the wealthier suburbs where there will be enough of a margin to allow cheating at the count to matter.

Just as with the Eureka Stocade in 1854, which can be viewed as our 1848 moment, it will come several years after the northern hemisphere eruptions of popular sentiment, and will not be freighted with as much historical gravity, but it will change things here nonetheless.

About the Eureka Stockade – it was about several things, but from memory it was about over reaching pubic servants who were abusing and gaoling miners for not having miners licences.
The miners were spending days in water, getting their licences wet and the ink running, so they would leave their paperwork in the tents. Of course the wallopers would fine them for being not in possession of the licences. But the clerks wouldn’t or couldn’t issue the paperwork in a format that would remain legible.
A continuing Catch 22 situation made worse by crooked coppers.
Last night a young bloke in the pub had been booked for not having his seatbelt on – he drove out his front gate and was putting it on and the coppers were going the other way. Pulled up and fined over $1000 !

… in which voters send a very unambiguous message to the elites who take them for granted.

The penalty is way beyond ANY reasonable fine and is authoritarian and unacceptable.

I feel for him.
But:Yep. Gotta have the belt clipped into place before putting the vehicle into gear.
Gotta do this even in your own front yard, backing it out from under the house, or on a station property, driving around checking the sheep, never mind that you’re several miles from the boundary.

Colour me suspicious, but why do I think Hell will freeze over, before any unit of the A.D.F. will give any A.B.C. “journalist” the time of day?

Because ANY organisation has some disaffected career oriented members who will sell the organisation for good publicity and a better chance at promotion. For example — the ADF.

No danger to anyone but himself. There should be no fines for a driver not wearing a seat belt. Similar for helmets. Utterly nanny state and the thinking behind this is the main problem we have in the Woke West.

NSW Parliament did not sit for months in 2021 and 2022 and the executive kept on pissing out executive orders that were practically unchallengeable.

No one with any sense of self-preservation ought to have “respect for the law” anymore.

Incredibly stupid times

How does one exist on this planet in this day and age without a sense of and ability to laugh at the absurd?

Or more importantly, the absurd masquerading as the sensible?

I miss some of my ol’ school friends (several of whom are no longer with us), who would have found these times a rich source of inspiration for their hilarious piss taking.

Democracy, once captured by the psychopaths of the political party system, leads to the cancerous growth of a destructive sub-class of morons, f@cksticks and degenerates, with sh!ts for brains, numerous enough to derail any sensible response to a deranged, racist, divisive, f@cked-up abortion like the inVoice.

That’s the beginning, and the end, of the problem. And it can’t be ignored.
It won’t magically lose its malignant influence, or disappear.

That’s why everyone with any sense of history, logic and justice should get involved.

If this diarrhoeal travesty gets through, I’ll be able to sleep at night, knowing that I, at least, tried.
I would encourage all Cats to do the same.

‘I do- voted for Trumble against Abbott in 2015. That’s it.”

Something she later regretted, and she has said so publicly. Look, that came on the heels of Bronwyn and the helicopter, which Abbott handled badly with the media, he allowed that furore to engulf him, he should have put the MSM in their place, but he didn’t.

Sleazy catches the government plane to a Bully Bragg concert, but that’s okay.

Who would you rather, Bronwyn Bishop, Marise Payne or Jane Hume? I choose Bronwyn.

Appears to be the other way round, madam doxxer. We know it was you. Also, it’s fun getting you to Defcon 1 in an instant. You’re so highly strung.

Not once. .Now, of course, he has an Everest sized grudge he has to haul around. He cannot handle being mocked and ends up in a simpering mess on the floor.

Mock away, but you’re not very good at it on your lonesome. That’s why you were going after Liz all gangland style. Surprisingly it’s now disbanded. Wonder why? 🙂

What anti anxiety tablets are you taking, Kez? Frankly, if I were Dover, I’d ban you for constantly suggesting he’s on the take. What a disgusting retard you are and have always been

That’s you goal, isn’t it, you rapacious writhing blob of

Writhing blob of excrement? Aren’t you taking this adjective thing a little too far, you trailer-trash heap of human junk.

Kez, you’re not exactly setting the world on fire with massive intellectual heft here, nor the previous blog. Outrageously outraged comments just go stale over a short distance, you angry old sad sack
But please stay, as I find you uncertain outrageous outrage amusing.

Sometime, when you have a spare moment in your busy schedule, you could explain to us how you get through life so angry at the world. Really, it would be interesting reading.

How’s it go again.

You, you won’t beat me, you, you hear!
