Actionable. Be wise to call your lawyer, get billed $2,000 just to see where you stand peddling that lie.
Wouldn’t want you to lose your house. Unlike a bet, when a court orders you to pay, welching is not an option.

Wasn’t me repeating, “be very, careful, tread carefully”. That was you, you dishonest lice ridden push big. Go clean the mold, you blowhard.

You’re agreeing that Sancho is talking out of his botty each time he’s announced the site is moving faster without ticks.

Lived in a court for last 2+ years. Quiet place (except for when the two resident crows start carrying on). Some new mob opposite in a rental. Looks like single mother and some teenage/early adult offspring. Other P plate Commodore driving hangers on also.

They have a dog that has been keen on incessant barking in the middle of the night. Last night and a night last week. Woke up old mate who sleeps down in the back room. Bloke next door to them is a cool dude and good neighbour, but tatts on the face concreter badass. If he doesn’t sort it, I will.

Go back to Norlane/Corio you shit xunts. They move to places like where I am to get away from those shit holes, but just end up bringing it with them.

Reading excuses.
If you are going to reference ‘culture’ as the reason for differences in responses to world events between individuals don’t be surprised if people point out some negative aspects of your culture.
Jews, by the way know all about slurs, the koran has them descending from pigs and apes.
The world had iirc 54 muslim countries and nearly 2 billion muslims, Jews have one tiny country and a world population of under 16 million. Christian Europe wasn’t exactly a safe haven either.
The Dutch don’t have an entire religion who’s manifesto includes killing them, or the within living memory experiences of the Holocaust, perhaps if it did it

Yeah, Mark, I noticed that. What most people don’t get is the Bible is an incredibly dense and interconnected body of work. For instance I was listening to a podcast today which talked about a guy called Melchizedek. If you look into his place in the bible (it’s in Genesis, which pretty much everyone regards as a tract written at least 3500 years ago) he fits perfectly with the words of Jesus Christ, his office and the rest of the prophesies. But you have to work at it to understand that.

No different to my profession chemistry. Got to start with acids and alkalis looong before you get to enantiomers and electrophilic addition reactions (which was my thesis topic).

This has been troubling me greatly lately.
We are likely to be the first Australian generation who bequeath a worse standard of living to our children and to our grandchildren in particular. It’s that third generation who will be the ones who pay the real cost for the foolishness of our political caste unless the problems that caste has created around energy, the economy/productivity and immigration can be righted before the end of this decade, preferably sooner.

Even during the 80s when mortgage interest rates rose as high as 17%pa it never got as bad as it is today due to the inflation of everything. Wages and salaries went up along with the housing prices so it was more manageable than today. Now we have the price of everything going up including home loan interest rates yet wages are stagnant and have been for over a decade. The only way a lot of families are staying afloat is that both partners work full time while that was much less the case in the 80, women who worked tended to do so part-time.

Times are really tough and our governments are working at making them even harder by pushing up power and petrol prices to squeeze people into electrical cars and renewable energy that just doesn’t make sense.

Those Teslas being driven around are two middle fingers raised at the mortgage suburbs by the Teals, Labor and Greens. We will see how it turns out next election, maybe it needs another 60/40 result to bring our rulers to their senses.

Crossie, last year the Liar’s party tribunal raised the mini wage by 8.75% and awards by 5.75%. Big increase that seeps all through the wage+ salary ladder and therefore prices. From vague memory incomes, in aggregate rose by over 4% in 2023. That’s not to suggest people are having it hard, but so are businesses too.

Wages in Australia have been pretty much tracking the inflation rate. Between those years where it looks like a big dipper, wages were till tracking inflation, as CPI growth was minuscule in that period. In fact, the RBA was getting heat because CPI had remained below target for a very long time and people wanted them to get it back to target. The reason that wages haven’t see decent real increases is because our productivity has been worse than woeful. Real wages can only rise with increases in productivity.

Correct, JC.

That’s because the trade union government no longer represents the Australian working class, just the fat cat union leadership getting rich from superannuation management fees who represent less than 10% of the real economy workforce.

Relieved of the obligation to represent workers, Australian unions now are nothing more than breeding grounds for political radicals, whose current obsession is hatred of Australia.

A follow up on Golfo Aranci.
Small fishing village pre tourism. Not much else agricultural activity wise in this corner of Sardinia. The coastline is magnificent, granite hills, islands, low scrub but wild and inhospitable, now with bays tamed for tourism.
I’m very sorry the train wasn’t running, it runs along the coast between Golfo Aranci and Marinella, and the road did not.
Marinella was the most ghost town of all, the big hotel was completely closed and not a soul to be seen.
Me on my exclusive coach headed back in the setting sun, the sun on one great outcrop had it glowing, spectacular.
Back in Oblia the locals were finally out on Saturday evening, there was a little outbreak of Carnevale on the harbour side and general promenading as the clouds had finally scuttled away.
I’m finally going to see the interior of the ancient church next door properly, no weekday masses, no lights on, it’s very gloomy inside, not many windows. The very bare St Simplicio was brighter, another Diocletian martyr from 304 AD, the current church dating, not including additions and alterations, to the 11th century.
I’m off to Sassari this afternoon, train, €8.10.

I started with the NAB at the beginning of 88 and transferred to Corporate Banking Victoria around 1990 just as Pyramid and everything was collapsing. It was ugly. A well known engineering firm (now owned by the Chinese) was having every cheque written referred to the manager who was only paying wages cheques.

No, it’s not, Rosie.

Salvation is by grace through faith, not by works (not even reading the work of reading scripture).

calli I’m sure there are cats who have heard of our own Elizabeth Blackburn who was awarded a Nobel Prize in 2009 in Physiology/Medicine for her for the discovery of how chromosomes are protected by telomeres and the enzyme telomerase – are determinants of ageing. At the time of Ms Blackburn’s award I read much about her research and how it involved looking at what caused the shortening of the telomeres. It came as no surprise to me that as part of her her research Ms Blackburn studied the ageing process in carers of people with lifelong ,severe and persistent disabilities as well as carers of people with dementia and people who are frail-aged. Very interesting work by a Tasmanian lass — Sadly, Elizabeth Blackburn is not regarded as role model and trailblazer for young Australian women and girls.

Stop whining and do something about it!
If the Jewish community really cares and wants to act, what’s stopping them?
Curling up into a ball and demanding sympathy only goes so far. Maybe that’s your culture. It’s not mine, we harden up.
Cassie
You know, it’s early in the morning, a new day, people come here and post comments about what’s going on in this country and the world. But not the resident of the Queanbeyan. No, she wakes up, consumed and obsessed with Lizzie and me, and rushes to post shrill and nasty comments. It’s really sad.
Cassie
“I’m pretty sure I have never ever pretended to be a member of the IDF.”
Johanna
Dishonest, I never said that you did. You are making stuff up to justify your neurotic, unhelpful and attention-seeking responses, take that to your therapist – moo!

“I wept’ and so on might equally be attributed to Muslim mamas.

Cassie

There were your words, only half an hour ago…
“and how Cassie pretends to be a member of the IDF”

“If the Jewish community really cares and wants to act, what’s stopping them?
Curling up into a ball and demanding sympathy only goes so far. Maybe that’s your culture.”

It’s not a joke, KD. This site is full of cowards who either joke about or ignore and do not call out someone making commentary that is way beyond the pale.
The site is unpleasantly lop-sided. (reference to upticks/downticks)

The bolded comment I made constitutes what is true anti-Semitism. Jews during the Shoah Holocaust/Genocide were often libelled as not resisting and organising during their rounding up for the gas chambers. Anti-Semites labelled Jewish ‘culture’ as pleading and unworthy and not stoically ‘Aryan’. Johanna’s comments, those two lines in particular, inflect real anti-Semitism. She is perhaps too self-obsessed with her own whip cracking to recognise that.

Israel created the IDF to protect all Jewish people and the homeland of Israel. Jewish people today world-wide feel under threat in ways similar to the 1930’s. Johanna today has doubled down on her self-entitled PR spin and made-up memes. Not a hint of regret for the damage she has caused to Cassie or to the harmony of the site. She has managed to harass a Jewish woman off this site by her selfish doubling down demands, revelling in applause of her ‘toughness’. Well done? I don’t think so.

A decent person would apologise to Cassie immediately.

‘Not normal behaviour’: Joyce to miss party meeting as medication mix emerges as factor in video
Paul Sakkal
By Paul Sakkal
February 11, 2024 — 4.54pm

Listen to this article
4 min

Opposition Leader Peter Dutton will question Barnaby Joyce this week about why the former deputy prime minister was filmed lying on a popular Canberra street swearing on the telephone after a long parliamentary sitting day.

The maverick MP, whose actions were described as “not normal” by his party leader David Littleproud, will not attend a scheduled meeting of Nationals MPs on Monday morning in Canberra at which the incident is expected to be discussed.

Joyce is dealing with a medical issue which has emerged as a new explanation for the strange scene revealed last Friday, two sources with knowledge of the matter said.

Joyce has told several colleagues he was feeling the effects of medication mixing with alcohol when he fell off a planter box and continued his phone call with wife Vikki Campion. Witnesses say Joyce was seen at two functions at Parliament House on Wednesday night in the lead-up to the 11.30pm video.

This masthead is not aware of the precise nature of Joyce’s health situation nor the type of medication.

Asked on Sunday if Joyce should remain on the frontbench, Dutton did not specifically support Joyce’s position.

7 people at say 40 bucks an hour is $280, but round it off to $300. Say, the average coffee is $5.50, that means they have to be selling 54 cooffeees an hour to break even and that’s not including direct costs. Sure, there’s also food being sold, but boy totaling up direct and indirect costs and expenses, there’s not a lot left over. This is a busy joint.

Aaaand wordwalls have made a comeback.

Lizzie – in that multitude of quotes, you missed the one where you said another poster was a coward, and you also missed this one:

‘This site is full of cowards’.

I will assert that his august journal of record, for the very most part, consists of people who are most assuredly not cowards.

That is an extremely strong term to throw about, and while the term may mean something to people waaaay up looking at pebblecrete and harbour views in Australia’s richest suburb, it means something very different to the rest of us.

The last commenter to continually use that term was the high-falutin’ Consty-waving demonstrably gullible dEatH CamP believing truck driver who embarrassed himself so thoroughly he went elsewhere, after notably saying ‘Well, what else what I supposed to think?’ after yet another of his prophecies turned to shit.

If you could name one commenter here at present – just one, except for Bolton – who is not at least nominally pro-Israel and IDF it would be appreciated, because I can’t think of one.

I take no position on the nevertheless extremely entertaining, decades-long old woman stoush, because it’s funny. However, to excoriate all posters here – ‘this site is full of cowards‘ and then threaten to flounce yet again because they won’t immediately accept the invitation to a pile-on is silly.

They aren’t going to declare martial law and round everyone up in one week. They’re simply making a list of who to disarm, arrest and send to prison.

There’s never going to be some big trigger event, something that kicks off another civil war or revolution …

Notice how she hasn’t called out sancho poofta panzy aka leigh lowe or knuckle f*cker, who piled on Lizzie for years. Interesting. She craves bloke’s attention.

She talks about women being bitches. She is the biggest bitch out there. She has no filter. No husband. No child. She has major mental health issues.

What is worse than a left wing Karen? A right wing one, who bangs on and on about shit she has no lived experience of.

If I’m such a coward I may as well be a “snitch” also. In for a penny, in for a pound. And that isn’t the worst she’s said about you by a country mile. She’s said worse about me.

This is your co-religionist. She’ll see you there on the 18th you know.

No doubt she’ll disappear the rest of the hate thread. Because she’s so feisty and brave.

I had to repost this because I missed the expletives.

But that’s okay, I was told here that we Jews just have to harden up.

I certainly wouldn’t put it like that, as if the Jewish community should tolerate what’s happened and the people responsible. That is dangerous. Along that line I’ve raise Popper’s paradox of tolerance here several times.

But the Jewish community and those who support them, including the Christians who’ve been organising rallies to express such support, need to fight back with any means available.

I believe the NSW government, and by extension the Australian government, which is responsible for our compliance with international treaties and covenants, is in clear contravention of the Genocide Convention (which quite logically begins with outlawing calls for genocide, not just the act itself).

I’m well out of it, I’m afraid, but there are surely smarter people than me who can be availed upon to pursue this avenue by whatever means are available and, by doing so, embarrass the powers who are responsible for protecting citizens into taking action.

Cassie

I don’t watch Outsiders, but from what you describe, there seems to be clear evidence of, at the absolute least, that smarmy term “hate speech”, and probably sufficient to claim incitement. Will Daniel L be referring the video material to the NSW rozzers, and/or the AFP?

Or might it be better to put in onto the web, with plenty of media releases to prevent its being sent down the memory hole?

Time to get on the front foot.

Lizzie,
Just to be very clear there was zero applause. Unless of course you use the obviously gamed ticking in those few very early hours as your evidence.

“She has managed to harass a Jewish woman off this site by her selfish doubling down demands, revelling in applause of her ‘toughness’. Well done? I don’t think so”.

I think KD’s point here is very relevant :

“If you could name one commenter here at present – just one, except for Bolton – who is not at least nominally pro-Israel and IDF it would be appreciated, because I can’t think of one”.

Cassie has had and will continue to have support from pretty much everybody on this blog. Just because Johanna made a few very nasty comments towards Cassie does not lessen the support Cassie has here.

Both you and Cassie should bear that in mind when commenting upon Johannas behaviour.

Landing a C130 transport plane on a carrier

No hooks, no catapult.

There’s one Herk pilot who should never have to pay for his own drink, ever again!

Admiral, former Phantom pilot ZK2A, never flown a C130 prior to prepping for that exercise. The idea now being explored is to use modern transport aircraft loaded with crates of long range cruise missiles released to create a saturation missile attack(Rapid Dragon). That is addressed latter in the video. This strategy confers a huge advantage because most fighters can carry 2-4 cruise missiles and that makes them slow, fuel hungry, and range limited.

Documents Reveal: Channel 10 lawyers approved Wilkinson’s Logies speech
New affidavits are understood to show that Ten’s senior management asked Lisa Wilkinson to give the Logies speech and that Ten’s lawyers and senior executives approved it.

A cache of explosive documents is set to be made public this week exposing the legal advice Lisa Wilkinson received from Network Ten lawyers before her disastrous Logies speech – and revealing the intense personal animosity between several of the high-profile lawyers in the case.

New affidavits filed with the Federal Court are understood to show that Ten’s senior management asked Wilkinson to give the Logies speech and that Ten’s lawyers and senior executives approved it. The legal advice was never revealed during the defamation trial, despite the clear preference of Justice Michael Lee to see it.

One Sydney lawyer described the upcoming hearing on Tuesday as “a shit show coming to town” with previously unseen affidavits believed to show lawyers taking pot-shots at each other in “the legal fraternity’s version of Nemesis” – a reference to the ABC documentary revealing the behind-the-scenes turmoil and back-biting in the Abbott, Turnbull and Morrison governments.

When Bruce Lehrmann sued Wilkinson and Ten over the allegation he raped Brittany Higgins, the TV presenter demanded her own legal presentation, believing the network had “thrown her under the bus” in the aftermath of the Logies speech by failing to acknowledge she had acted on their legal advice.

Wilkinson has since launched her own cross claim against Ten, with the network still refusing to pay her legal fees, now amounting to at least $700,000.

Hearings in the defamation case finished in December, with Federal Court judge Michael Lee reserving his judgement and expected to spend some months considering his verdict.

But in a highly unusual move, Justice Lee has ordered all lawyers in the defamation case to attend a hearing on Tuesday previously called to deal with the costs dispute between Wilkinson and Ten, indicating he believes material contained in the cross claim affidavits has a bearing on his decision in the central case.

Justice Lee is understood to have told lawyers in an email that he might be placed in the position of having to decide the defamation case while putting aside the evidence in Wilkinson’s cross claim and that this could put the administration of justice into disrepute.

Justice Lee was emphatic throughout the defamation case that the principles of open justice be adhered to, with all evidence heard in open court and made available on the court’s YouTube channel for members of the public to watch.

It is understood Wilkinson has filed two new affidavits in the case, with a third, on her behalf, from her solicitor, Anthony Jefferies, while Ten has filed affidavits of its own. On Tuesday, Wilkinson is expected to give evidence first.

One of the affidavits is understood to contain the legal advice Ten provided to Wilkinson before she gave the highly prejudicial Logies speech which delayed Lehrmann’s rape trial by several months.

Can we move on without the drama of who upticked/downticked who some days/weeks ago? Or who, supposedly, drove who from the site with fake ‘ticks’?

Its all getting beyond tedious and nobody has a right to post here with just the content and reactions that they allow. if thats what people need for their own mental stability then run your own personal blog and allow only those who make you feel nice.

On the site – looking forward to DB’s experimentations and threaded content might be an improvement compared to the current mixup unithread.

Did you say that JMH comments there? Odd considering JMH is so obsessed about the tone of this blog and likes to target JC. If that is the case then JMH is a hypocrite.

Don’t read it, calli. I don’t and won’t. I suspect it would be healthier to walk naked through a Sydney sewer.
