It seems the shooter has the same name & address as FEC records of a donor to a hard left fundraising platform that finances “The Progressive Turnout Project” an outfit which helps elect hard left candidates.

If this is fair dinkum, it raises questions as to the motive of this person to register as a republican.

Dr F on the old fred…

Unsurprisingly, given the events, this is currently shaping up as: hopeless nutter patsy, set up by the Deep State to fire the convenient fatal shots, and then be conveniently potted into eternal silence.

Well, at least this time they didn’t leave it to a terminally ill nightclub owner to pot the suspect on live television 24 hours after the original event.
Much tidier work.
Two things which interest me.
1. Mr Crooks lived about an hour away from the rally site. How much reccy effort did he put in? Please don’t tell me he just turned up, climbed onto the roof and started taking pot-shots.
2. How long had he been interested in guns and how much practice had he had with this weapon? I mean, it was probably not a difficult exercise from a range of 120 metres, but not something a rank amateur could easily pull off either.

Hairy and I have been revisiting the ’60’s too in all of this. I can recall the Kennedy Assassination very well as I was 21 at the time. He can remember it from the perspective of an 11 year old. But he’s read more about it and visited the grassy knoll and the book repository, whereas he’s just driven me by it years later. Just after these shots at Trump I was mentioning Jack Ruby to him, the disbelief that sudden shooting of the perp while we were still in shock and Ruby dying well-paid in jail. He reminded me then that the assassination of Robert Kennedy in June ’68 was due to Bobbie being about to investigate some mafia dealings.

Taking out the Pres has quite a history in the US of A.

The big question is why the Secret Service left unattended/unmonitored an obvious shooting platform so close to the speech dais.

And also, why the local police snipers were the ones close in and not specialist Secret Service ones.

A review of CB transmissions might be interesting to explain why the police snipers did not shoot until the assassin had let fly three shots before firing themselves especially as members of the public had clearly spotted and called out the presence of the shooter.

A big fail in security or a deliberate one?

This ex SS detail Lt reckons the assassin was closer than the range the cop snipers were scanning. Supporting evidence is the sniper video showing the police sniper adjusting aim downwards a lot before being able to return fire.
Still got to keep ‘stuff up’ as a candidate explanation.

Decent roundup of what is known about the shooter.

Turns out he is actually a lone wolf. In Pennsylvania, you have to wait until you are 21 to be allowed to buy a handgun, but you can buy an AR-15 when you are 18. Crazy.

So a local cop did get up a ladder and confront Crooks, then got down again when Crooks pointed his rifle at him. Crooks then quickly took his shot/s at Trump, then the SS picked him off.

Insanely, since Pennsylvania is an open carry state, there was nothing the cops could legally do to Crooks until he started shooting. Crooks broke no laws until he pulled the trigger.

I see our resident Jew hating pervert apologist Nazi is trying to blame “gun control” and ‘lone wolf’…..apologies you have to laugh at their chutzpah. He refuses to blame the years of far-left, progressive demonisation and all round derangement of Donald Trump and the men and women who vote for him.

Our Nazi (like all Nazis) is a putrid hypocrite.

The left own this, as does our resident Nazi. For year he and his ilk have thrown their sanctimonious slop at our way, all the time stoking and fomenting violence at us….calling us ‘far-right’, ‘racist’, ‘extremists’ and ‘Nazis’. I remember his sniggering when women were assaulted last year in an Auckland Park, I remember his sniggering when Tony Abbott was headbutted in a Hobart Street. Well, it’s time we scooped up that slop in buckets, held the left throat’s down and force fed their slop back to them.

There was nothing ‘lone wolf’ about yesterday, what happened yesterday was the end result of years of leftist demonisation of Trump and his voters. It’s time we held them to account, beginning with the Nazi here.

I certainly have no love for Marine Le Pen’s father but here’s a fact, the daughter does not share the Jew hatred of her father, no more than the Kennedy children shared the Jew hatred of their own father, Joseph Kennedy Snr.

Now Nazi, you’ve had some attention here this morning, you’ve thrown your slop, and the slop has been thrown back at you. Piss off back to your basement, and fantasise about women being punched up by perverts in a park, that particular slop seems to be one of your favourite ‘slops’.

I agree Rosie. Keep on demonising a person, dehumanising them. It’s malevolent, makes them expendable, fair game for weaker minds.

Dover made the excellent point yesterday, bolstered by many…many other commenters here.

This is the fruit of years of media hatred and gaslighting. Deliberate, orchestrated, malevolent. All motivated by the quest for power and money. Members of the Democratic Party should hang their heads in shame, but they won’t. They’ll be out and proud, parading with “jokes” and bullshit. And not just them. The hatred has seeped into the Republican Party also.

Some of the stuff I heard yesterday from family members made my stomach turn.

The stage is now set for another round of urban warfare such as we saw in 2020. Calls for “calm” from the very people who stoked the fire and lit the match.

Taking a shooting position and sight picture of a crowd is not “open carry”.
That is called “assault”.
And it will generally get a person gunned down immediately by law enforcement anywhere in the US regardless of carry laws.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but pointing a firearm at a law enforcement officer is an offence. And the retribution fast and explosive.

Regardless of “open carry” laws.

Please stop clutching at silly straws.

An investigation into the timeline of events should yield a bit more useful insight. My gut feeling is gross incompetence coupled with opportunism. If that incompetence was coloured by “it’s only Trump and Orange Man Bad”, only their seared consciences can inform them.

Just further to this, speaking to a GB News reporter yesterday about the attempted assassination of his friend, Nigel Farage made the point that the left are never made to suffer any consequences whatsoever for their words and actions which incite violence.

Back in 2019, after Nigel Farage was assaulted by having a milkshake thrown over him, an ugly toad of a UK comedian named Jo Brand said on BBC radio that….

Why bother with a milkshake when you could get some battery acid?”

She was referring to the Farage assault and asking why he wasn’t daubed in battery acid. Despite outrage and despite numerous complaints made to the BBC, including one by Farage, nothing has happened to Jo Brand. She is still a regular on BBC television and radio.

We’ve seen this template here, with Cardinal Pell, with Tony Abbott during the Warringah 2019 election.

Just to remind people about that election campaign in Warringah, an unbelievably vicious and sordid campaign by the left to remove Abbott, after weeks of venom directed against Abbott and his team, on election eve a Liberal campaigner was stabbed with a corkscrew on a Warringah street.

Yeah, that’s the left in action. Here’s a truth…..

 Housing: $130 a week
Energy : around $25
Food : I’d spend, maybe, $80 tops but, generally, around $60 (inc mogs)
Clothing .. nuttin’ a week maybe $50 a year …… LOL!
Not sure what household goods & services actually meanz tho internet $75 month
Health .. guess I’m lucky .. zilch, zero .. no prescriptions and Medicare covers the rest ..
Transport .. don’t drive .. so public ($2.50 a day maybe twice a week), walk or bike $0 ….. LOL!
Leisure : a streamer $10 a week (plus several other passwords from kids $0)
Communications .. phone $15 month ..

So on a pension of $550 a week, at least, around $200 ends up “under the mattress” .. LOL!

I don’t think the shooter is a part of a plan but rather another boy not gifted the natural attributes for social acceptance.
They fester quietly until the appalling act to be noticed is played out. The motivation to shoot at Trump may be little more than a convenient opportunity that presented itself.
We all want clear facts and logical answers but often we’re finally led down the same sad pathetic path that results in school shootings, murdered parents or work colleagues.
Maybe I’m wrong but it’s pointing that way from the little we have in information about the dead shooter.

Andrew Bolt:

No one can hide from this truth.

Whoever shot Donald Trump – whether some crazy or Left-wing extremist – this assassination attempt was part of a plot.

No, not a deliberate, worked-out plot to kill the man most likely to become president again.

I mean the plot to make Trump seem so evil that OF COURSE someone would want to kill him. OF COURSE someone would figure they just had to stop the new Hitler.

And the blame for that goes all the way to the top – to desperate President Joe Biden who has terrified Americans of the Left by painting Trump as a wannabe dictator, who just had to be stopped by almost any means.

Take Biden’s TV ad last month demonising Trump: “There is nothing more sacred than our democracy, but Donald Trump, ready to burn it all down”.

Or this Biden ad, just two days before the shooting, accusing Trump of being the poodle of Russia’s war-criminal president: “This is who Donald Trump is … the United States must never be like Putin’s Russia; we don’t empower dictators”.

Biden’s team also got actor Robert De Niro, who’d declared ‘I’d like to punch Donald Trump in the face’, to narrate another ad savaging Trump: “Now he’s running again, this time threatening to be a dictator, to terminate the constitution”.

It kept coming. Two weeks ago, former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi declared on national television that “this is not a normal election”, and Trump “must be stopped; he cannot become president”.

And talking to donors this past fortnight, Biden repeated urged them: “It’s time to put Trump in a bullseye”.

Sure, Biden didn’t mean that literally. But the media forgave that inflammatory language in a way it never would have had Trump used it against Biden.

Democrats seemed to believe their own hysteria.

What else, short of violence, didn’t they do to make Trump seem an evil that had to be stopped by hook or by crook?

For three years, the Democrats pushed the bogus claim that Trump stole the 2016 election by colluding with Russia.

Then Democrats also falsely accused Trump of sending a mob to invade Congress to stop Biden replacing him as president.

Biden even falsely accused Trump of having “sat and watched … the cops being killed”, when the only person killed was a female Trump supporter, shot by police.

This Trump Derangement Syndrome isn’t just a slogan. It is a sick reality in a United States that looks at times almost on the edge of a civil war. God knows what would have happened had that bullet which clipped Trump’s ear been two inches to the right.

The Democrats even felt licenced to bend and strain the law to launch four separate legal cases to get Trump jailed or at least crippled ahead of the November election.

And the media Left did their bit.

The New Republic last month ran a cover picture of Trump with a Hitler moustache, over the headline: “American fascism: what it would look like”.

The Left-wing American Prospect Magazine ran with this headline: “American Fascism”, warning against “American fascism in 2024”.

The New Yorker went with: “Why we can’t stop arguing about whether Trump is a fascist.”

And all the way through, media outlets falsely accused Trump of praising neo-Nazis as “good people”, of planning to be a dictator on “day one” and more.

So can anyone be surprised if someone may have decided to remove a man they’ve been told is a monstrous evil? A Hitler?

But few in politics have been luckier in their choice of enemies than Trump.

His enemies have now made him so much stronger.

The Democrats’ attempts co-opt the FBI into making Trump seem in collusion with Putin just made the Deep State look corrupt.

The Democrats’ attempts to stop Trump’s campaign in the courts just made the justice system seem corrupt, and Trump’s support grew stronger.

And now this attempted assassination will make Trump unbeatable in the election.

That’s not just because Trump acted like a man with balls of steel, shrugging off his security when the shooting ended to wave a fist and shout: “Fight, fight”.

The contrast with feeble Joe Biden could not be stronger.

But more: This attack will stop Biden playing his lunatic “dictator Trump” card, and will wake up more Americans to the real threat to their peace and freedom.

No, it’s not the Right. It really is the Left, which must reflect how it’s become the very threat it saw in Trump.

That an elevated shooting position less than 200 yards from Trump, who was standing on a stage in an open field, was left unguarded, in contradiction of Secret Service doctrine since the Kennedy assassination, does raise some questions though.

Was it simply incompetence?

Or was there a shortage of SS & police manpower at the rally stemming from a WH knockback of Trump’s request for extra security, as has been claimed?

Looking forward to the SS answers before the Congressional inquiry.

Not one word of the lengthy USA Today article says anything of the sort.
In fact, it quotes authorities as saying it is “an ongoing investigation and ask anyone with information to contact ….. “.
Even if he didn’t have a physical accomplice, the “lone wolf” argument is moot, because he was egged on by the far-left media and the likes of Kathy Griffin for years.
They are guilty of incitement to violence far beyond anything which happened during the January 6th mostly peaceful protest.

‘Beyond excited’: Brittany Higgins, David Sharaz expecting their first childJames Dowling
9 hours ago
Former Liberal staffer Brittany Higgins is expecting her first child with husband David Sharaz.
Announcing the pregnancy on Instagram, Ms Higgins said she was “beyond excited” and paired the announcement with a picture of knitted childrens’ overalls and two blue socks on a washing line.
“Can’t wait to meet you,” Ms Higgins said on Instagram on Sunday.
“Beyond excited to welcome a new member to our little family.
“Your parents are already obsessed with you and you aren’t even here yet.”
The image is tagged with a location: Bergerac, France. In December, Ms Higgins and Mr Sharaz bought a home in the southwestern town of Lunas near the Bergerac and Bordeaux regions.
While Ms Higgins, who made the announcement late on Sunday, did not specify the baby’s gender, the blue socks in her post hint at a baby boy.
The announcement follows the pair’s Gold Coast wedding in June, held behind a strict wall of security in the Currumbin Valley. The event had a strict guest list confined to friends and family.
Ms Higgins and Mr Sharaz met in Canberra in 2020 before announcing their engagement on New Year’s Eve in 2022.

Some interesting bits of information from various internet sources (take them with a grain of salt until confirmed):

Crooks’ father is a psychologist. His mother is an occasional elementary school teacher.

Crooks was living with his grandparents before he was kicked out for using drugs.

Minneapolis Riots (2021): Crooks was purportedly part of Antifa actions during the Minneapolis riots. He was twice arrested and released on bail with the help of his parents.

According to news reports Crooks had a mental meltdown on a college campus. The video allegedly depicts Crooks verbally abusing Trump supporters at a campaign table on a campus. Crooks further allegedly appears to be screaming vile remarks at the workers at the campaign table such as “slash his throat, every f*%kin Republican, slash Republicans throats.”

It is suspected that Crooks may in fact have been on psychiatric drugs, which would make him the latest in a long line of mental health failures that become mass killers.

Again, none of that is confirmed at the moment but none of it seems out of the question either.

Bolt gets it:

This attack will stop Biden playing his lunatic “dictator Trump” card, and will wake up more Americans to the real threat to their peace and freedom.

Biden and the senior Democrats have explicitly played the ‘Will no one rid me of this turbulent priest?’ card – and reaped the storm.

After years of demonising – lurid squirrel-running, aided and abetted by corrupt agencies and public officials, lapped up and repeated by the MSM and the good and great – this was the culmination of the Great Game Plan.

The risks now of further hyperbolic personal attacks on Trump leading to a successful follow up assassination are huge and probably incalculable.

The hypocritical prayers and pleadings for a nicer democracy that fell out of Democratic mouths and the cancellation of Democratic campaign ads “out of respect for the injured” suggest that this was instantly apparent.

Whether or not yesterday’s shooting was a cunning, carefully crafted Deep State plan, the bullets have (metaphorically) hit the unintended target.

If, like me, you haven’t been paying sufficient attention to the detail, it turns out the head of the Secret Service — like most of the Biden White House’s appointments — is a diversity hire (Paywallian):

Donald Trump arrives in Milwaukee for the RNC as the Secret Service chief defends her team’s response to the assassination attempt and US President Joe Biden prepares to address the nation from the Oval Office.

Greens tell Muslim Vote to ‘leave Wills, Senate alone’Alexi Demetriadi

Panicked Greens senators and MPs fear the burgeoning The Muslim Vote movement could cost them the prized target seat of Wills and upper house votes, pleading with the campaign to leave it and the Senate race alone.

A potential split in the pro-Palestine vote came as Muslim leaders said the Greens’ policy slate would be a “deal-breaker” for the community, regardless of its pro-Palestine stance.

It appears that Mo hates the Bandt and all his works.

It appears that Mo hates the Bandt and all his works.

As the man said (slightly adjusted):

“Socialism is like a train ride. When you reach your destination you get off.”

Thanks Mehreen; we’ll take it from here.

The female head of Secret Service was formally on Biden’s detail when he was VP. She is long time SS prior to a stint as head of security for Pepsi from where she was appointed by Biden.

Surely some resignations or firings should already be happening regarding failure to cover the roof top and then not getting him in the minutes he was there.

The two SS snipers in black who did get him would have seen him for minutes before he took the shots. I saw a commentator saying that they may have thought he was local police and poor planning and co-ordination involved. You would think as soon as they saw him they would be questioning his presence on their radio and somebody sent to have a look.

Either way not a good day for the Secret Service.

He was a Biden donor.
And he registered Republican.
And he shot at and hit Trump.
And he murdered a Trump rally attendee.
And he was 20 years old and had his whole life ahead of him if he hadn’t spent so much time imbibing whatever poison inclined him to do this evil thing.
Are we now clear on the known facts?

The two SS snipers in black who did get him

They weren’t Secrete Service. Local police sniper and spotter did the job after the assassin let loose three shots at Trump. They had eyes on but didn’t take him out in time.

Members of the public had spotted him minutes before the shots and alerted police.

A massive security breach. Deliberate or not?

Deliberate.
It is the simplest option and compatible with the facts as we know them.

You mean Jill, right?

But seriously…it’s 12 months now since Susan Rice – Obama’s chief agent of influence in the Biden administration – left the White House, probably over a disagreement about Biden running again. I think Jill Biden has really come into ascendancy since then.

As to Crooks’ motivation, read the following two things together:

Jason Kohler attended Bethel Park High School with Crooks and said he remembers the 20-year-old sat alone at lunch and was “bullied every day.”

Anybody with me in hoping that the family of the man murdered at the Trump rally sues, for hundreds of millions of dollars, everybody who is calling the shooting, “fake” or “staged”?

Surely suing people into penury isn’t a one-off against Alex Jones?

Re the Russian woman in sigs:
This is not the first time this has happened. I give you the gaol escapee who forged documents and passed herself off as a Registered Nurse, joined the army as a Direct Entry Officer – rank of Lieutenant – and when it became apparent she knew jack shit of nursing, the security people told the OIC of her unit everything was fine, even down to the forged letter of commendation from the ?Superintendent of the gaol she escaped from.
“No, it’s fine. It’s all tickety boo. We’ve checked.”
“Well check again – she’s not a Registered Nurse. She knows nothing of the profession!”
Several months later – “Yes. She escaped from prison, got her hands on documents – we’ll put her in Supply until we can work out what to do with her.”
This was told to me by a N.O. Major who was responsible for her and blew the whistle on her in the late 80’s and I have no reason to believe she made it up.

That question is being asked.

“Malice Or Massive Incompetence”: Erik Prince Gives Detailed Assessment Of Secret Service Failure (15 Jul)

Former Navy Seal and Blackwater founder Erik Prince gave a detailed assessment of yesterday’s Secret Service debacle in the wake of a failed assassination attempt on former President Trump. …

When looking at the circumstances in favor of Thomas Matthew Crooks, the identified alleged suspect in the attempted assassination of Donald Trump in Butler, PA, it’s hard to see how the guy failed. Almost every Secret Service security protocol seems to have been ignored, allowing Crooks easy access to a perfect shooting position and plenty of time to acquire a bead on Trump’s podium.

The rooftop used by Crooks was a mere 140 yards away from the event with a clear line of sight to the right of Trump. Those familiar with precision shooting know that any shot within 300 yards is considered easy for a moderately trained rifleman. With the right caliber an expert can hit a torso sized target consistently at 1000 yards or more. At 140 yards any amateur should be able to hit a pie plate-sized target with little difficulty, even without a magnified optic.

The Secret Service is supposed to secure all obvious “sniper perches” well before the arrival of a protectee – Meaning, nearby rooftops and buildings are supposed to have a security presence in place along with drone surveillance. In the case of Butler, PA, this was apparently not done. SS snipers were only present on the building right behind the venue stage.

As Ben Garrison said…fishy.

Further to my comment this morning about the double standards (or no standards) applied to the left over their incessant advocacy of violence towards their political opponents, I posted earlier about UK ‘comedian’ Jo Brand and her comment about Nigel Farage, where Brand had wished, on radio, that instead of milkshake being thrown at Farage it had been battery acid. For her advocacy of violence, Brand received no blowback or censure. And now I see that one our own resident left-wing slugs, Mike Carlton, has posted on X some nasty remarks about the attempted assassination of Donald Trump…..so, let’s hark back to 2019 when the flasher from the northern beaches posted a tweet during an episode of Q&A, and in this tweet he asked why a fellow Q+A panellist doesn’t “leap from his seat and strangle” female Liberal MP Nicolle Flint.

Be it Carlton, our own Nazi and all the rest of them, it’s time to make them swallow their own slop.

They are so fkn devious. Of course there is no consideration of the fraudulent use of taxpayers’ funds nor the diversion of limited training resources for political ends.

Just like our politicians, they believe that the peoples’ money is theirs to play with for whatever ends they dream up. The Auditor General has been made irrelevant.

Nothing new in this for Cat readers, but that it appeared in The Courier-Mail is noteworthy. O’Connor must feel he has his finger on public sentiment to publish this:

Appalling, gutless response as racial hate allowed to run rampant

Mike O’Connor The Courier Mail 9 July, 2024

There’s a sense of unease in our cities and suburbs fuelled by a feeling of helplessness as people begin to realise that the fabric of the country that they love is being picked apart thread by thread. The shambles that unfolded in Canberra surrounding the defection of Senator Fatima Payman from the Labor Party was a straw in the wind, a further sign that the nation is fragmenting into groups whose agenda is self-interest with no thought for the good of all.

You might well wonder how a person for whom 1621 people voted in Western Australia is now attempting to direct the foreign policy of those 26 million of us who didn’t vote for her, and how she managed to be endorsed by the Labor Party in the first place, unless of course the fact she was a woman of colour and a Muslim played into it.

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese is now reaping the harvest that he has sown with his vacillation, lack of leadership and half-hearted support of Israel over the Gaza issue and the anti-Semitism that has been allowed to flourish on our streets and in our universities and most recently on the roof of our national parliament.

Having an each-way bet might be fine for a punt on the Melbourne Cup, but as Albanese is finding to his cost, it doesn’t cut it when you are dealing with racial hate, vitriol and calls for the extermination of the Jewish people.

The appalling, gutless approach of university vice-chancellors in failing to deal with the invasion of their campuses, and then capitulating to pro-Palestinian activists demanding a say in the way the universities are run, is a disgrace.

These protesters are now claiming a victory. Now that they’ve discovered how easy it is to intimidate university authorities they’ll be back for more, making more and more outrageous demands and chanting “from the river to the sea” as they do so. Jewish students no longer feel safe on campus. How can this happen in our country?

I have no answer other than to suggest weakness, a lack of moral fibre and a desperate desire on the part of the vice-chancellors to hang on to their obscenely bloated salaries.

The Vote Muslim Movement says it will now run candidates in seats for federal parliament with large Muslim populations, pushing a Muslim agenda. Clerics recently claimed it was sinful for Muslim students to pay indexation on their student loans, as do other Australian students, and wants them granted a dispensation. One rule for them, another for the rest.

Opposition Leader Peter Dutton raised the spectre of the Albanese government being voted into a minority and having to do deals with the Greens, teals and Vote Muslim members in order to govern.

He voiced a reasonable concern, but predictably was branded a bigot.

This political fragmentation follows upon the avoidable disaster that was the Voice referendum, which revealed that there were those people who did not regard themselves as Australians but as a group deserving of special treatment, with those who opposed this view vilified as racists.

It was a case of us and them, with the dictum being that if you’re not with us you’re against us.

Every other day, people awake to the news that an Indigenous group has been granted native title over another slice of the country, increasingly over prime real estate such as on the Sunshine Coast, Redland and Moreton Bay areas and on Fraser and Moreton islands.

The narrative is always the same – nothing to see here, no need for non-Indigenous Australians to worry about access and usage. But why bother to spend vast amounts of taxpayer dollars paying lawyers to argue these cases if it’s all going to be hunky dory and business as usual?

People are told not to worry, but if Premier Steven Miles was to park himself beside any suburban backyard barbecue he would quickly discover that people are very worried about what this will mean for the nature of the society in which their children and their children’s children will live.

I’m old enough to remember the days when even though people held opinions that differed from yours, it was understood that we were all in this together and agreed to disagree in the interests of the common good.

Those days are fast disappearing. I wonder if we will ever see their like again.
