I fully expected the previous debate to be like this, with CNN operatives doing their best to sink Trump at every turn. Maybe it was realised that it was mission impossible, and there was the early date they needed to do the swap! So they played it straight and let Joe sink.
It was probably a setup to give them time to insert Kamala, but now it means that the MSM gloves are off again. It’s there, horror movie right here on the TV.

From the Oz.

Two thirds of the way through the first presidential debate, at the one hour mark, there’s no obvious winner.
Donald Trump appears tired and angry. Kamala Harris has done better than perhaps her detractors would have hoped, noticeably avoiding any obvious word salads or clanging errors but showing obvoius emotion over issues such as abortion.
She’s clearly better prepared than the former president, who by his own admission did little preparation.
Immigration, and to a lesser extent the economy and inflation, have dominated the debate more than any other issue, which play to Mr Trump’s strengths, given his standing in the polls on these issues”.

If he did little preparation that is a sign of his arrogance and pisses me off. So many of the subjects are predictable and would have been covered by a good prep team. She appears to have done hers. He needed to land a good debate.

Not watched it myself but he himself said not done much preparing which in my view is letting down his supporters who are counting on him to prevent a Harris win.

Just rewatched a Pence – Kamalala debate.

I think the Trump- Kamalala debate will be a wash, unless the booze has further damaged her bird brain, she has a few tactics down that will be highly irritating to one side and the other will find agreeable.

In general she was capable, unlike Joe, of cramming before an event and seeming plausible to her side, which is all they need.

Trump will be Trump.

That’s all, no big shift either way, I reckon.

I will probably give watching a miss because Trump won’t say anything he hasn’t said a thousand times, and that bird gives me a migraine.

Harris campaign chair calls for second debate

Agency writers

Following the close of tonight’s debate, Kamala Harris campaign chair Jen O’Malley Dillon said the candidates should hold another debate in October.
“Under the bright lights, the American people got to see the choice they will face this fall at the ballot box: between moving forward with Kamala Harris, or going backwards with Trump,” she wrote in a statement. “That’s what they saw tonight and what they should see at a second debate in October. Vice President Harris is ready for a second debate. Is Donald Trump?”

Gun buyback ends with a bangBy Hamish HastieNot content with just crushing guns collected during the state’s voluntary buyback scheme, WA Police have opted for a more explosive option.
As part of its PR push to spruik the success of the six-month buyback, WA Police this morning released footage of the destruction of some of the 38,442 weapons collected which featured a huge explosion at an undisclosed location.

The footage also included guns being destroyed by an industrial crusher and shredder.
WA Police have not responded to questions about why they opted to explode guns over crushing them.
Nearly 20,500 gun licence holders handed back the weapons over the course of the buyback period, which closed on August 31, reducing the number of gun owners in the state from 88,132 to 82,065.
Around 320,000 guns remain in the community.
The state set aside $64.3 million for the buyback program but so far, only $11 million has been spent with Police Minister Paul Papalia saying that would likely increase to $15 million.

Trump was little more subdued than in previous debates. But then, I think many people expected that. Most people will be somewhat changed by a near miss on their life.

On the other hand, he instinctively knows what buttons to press that voters will respond to. Harris appealed to a narrower band. Trump also projects an image of mastery. In this age of uncertainty, I believe American voters will back confidence and certainty.

Someone up thread repeated the claim that Trump went in unprepared. I put this in the nested comments, but posting it again because it needs repeating.

He did prepare. He had meetings with his policy advisors covering all the likely questions.

Harris, having received the questions in advance, simply had to answer and insert emotion when necessary. She was constantly looking at him – perhaps she was “seeing” her aide who pretended to be Trump during rehearsals.

Was our resident Nazi at the genocidal Jew hating far-left riot today in Melbourne? Was he throwing excrement and bricks at the police and their horses?

If he wasn’t, perhaps our Nazi could condemn the ‘far-left’ violence in Melbourne today?

Oh so predictable from our gutter press.

The presidential debate between Kamala Harris and Donald Trump has wrapped up, and voters and experts have delivered their verdict.

Tens of millions of viewers were expected to tune in to Tuesday night’s ABC News debate in Pennsylvania where the pair squared off in sometimes chaotic scenes over issues including immigration, inflation and abortion.

It was their first time ever meeting in person and comes less than two months before the election on November 5, with the crucial showdown marking the Vice President’s first major opportunity to make her case to voters since taking over from Joe Biden as the Democratic nominee seven weeks ago.

And most observers say Ms Harris was the clear winner, repeatedly baiting the former President into angry, rambling answers.

Mr Trump’s probability of winning the election dropped 3 per cent after the debate, according to online betting market Polymarket, which now has the candidates tied at 49 per cent.

In a poll of CNN viewers after the debate, 63 per cent said Ms Harris won while 37 per cent said Mr Trump won. The same group had been split 50-50 on who they expected to win going in.

A poll by Trafalgar, which tends to lean more Republican, also gave the debate to the Democrat by 55 per cent to 43 per cent.

Tellingly, the Harris campaign immediately called for a second debate.

“That was fun. Let’s do it again,” Harris adviser Brian Fallon said on X.

Watching Trump in a debate is extremely frustrating because of two failings which make him a poor debater: limited vocabulary and poor focus. A scattergun approach laced with hyperbole is often the result

Cassie of Sydney

I don’t recall Donald Trump ever winning a debate.

Come to think of it, I don’t recall any Liberal leader here in this country, be it Howard, Abbott, Turdbull or Scumbag ever winning a debate, yet all four went on to win elections, two in a landslide.

I don’t take pre-election debates seriously anymore. Once upon a time I did but I stopped taking them seriously decades ago. They’re deliberately stacked against any right of centre candidate.

Having said that, I think Harris will win in November. I truly hope I’m wrong, and if that happens it’ll be lights out….permanently.

Police defend actions, claim protesters used acidBy Tom CowiePolice have defended their use of force at today’s anti-war rally, saying that they won’t tolerate the behaviour of protesters who break the law.
In a day of violent clashes, police used foam baton rounds, also known as “bean bag rounds”, flashbang grenades and pepper spray on protesters outside the Land Forces expo at the Melbourne Exhibition and Convention Centre.

A Victoria Police spokesperson said police had been pelted with missiles, including bottles filled with liquid, rocks, and horse manure whilst trying to protect the attendees of the expo.
“Some police have been spat at by protesters, whilst other officers have been sprayed with a liquid irritant, some of which has been identified as acid,” they said.

Thirty-three people were arrested for various offences, including assaulting police, obstructing police, hindering police, arson, assault and blocking roadways.
Police said 24 officers had required medical attention.
“Victoria Police is appalled at the behaviour of some of the protesters in attendance at the Land Forces protest in Melbourne’s CBD this morning,” said the spokesperson.
Police horses had missiles thrown at them, according to the spokesperson, however none were seriously injured.

‘Which river, which sea?’: Protest leader confused by anti-Israel catch cry
The organiser behind the Students for Palestine group involved in the violent anti-Israel protests in Melbourne says it’s “irrelevant” that she doesn’t know which sea the controversial catchcry is referring to.

A leader of the Students for Palestine group has blamed tiredness for naming the wrong sea in the controversial anti-Israel mantra.
In an embarrassing interview on 3AW, Deakin University student Renee Nayef was asked if she and fellow protesters had been chanting “from the river to the sea Palestine will be free” catchcry during this morning’s violent rally.
Proudly declaring that they had, Ms Nayef was then asked which river and which she thought the chant referred to.
She quickly answered: “the Jordan River and the Red Sea”.
3AW presenter Tom Elliott then corrected Ms Nayef, stating the pro-Palestine slogan called for freedom from the Jordan River to the Mediterranean Sea.
The phrase “from the river to the sea” refers to the geographic area between the Jordan River in the east and the Mediterranean Sea in the west, which today includes Israel and the Israeli-occupied Palestinian territories of West Bank and Gaza.
The Red Sea is south of Israel.

Just let it die, just like when other businesses close due to financial strife. Daily Telegraph:

A council has once again bailed out Sydney’s Mardi Gras festival, unanimously approving more than $250,000 worth of free rent for CBD office space in a bid to keep the financially stricken event afloat.

The City of Sydney council has green-lit a two-year lease for Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras festival organisers free of charge, with the council subsidising the entire $257,730 required to rent the commercial space in Pitt St, as parade organisers claim a “difficult economic climate” could throw the parade’s longevity into question.

The unanimous vote follows the City of Sydney approving a separate six-figure “rescue package”, which allowed this year’s festival to go ahead despite major financial challenges.

The council’s $550,000 contribution to the rescue package was matched by the NSW Government, taking its value $1.1m.

A Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras spokesman said organisers had been exploring options to cut back on costs, one on which was seeking help from the council.

“Like many festivals over the past year, Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras has faced significant financial challenges due to a combination of external factors, including rising costs and a difficult economic climate,” he said.

“To ensure the festival’s longevity, we have been exploring various cost-saving measures, including seeking subsidised office space through our long-term supporter, the City of Sydney.

“We remain committed to delivering a vibrant and unforgettable celebration in 2025 and beyond, continuing to champion LGBTQIA+ visibility and inclusion.

“Planning is well underway, and we look forward to sharing details of the 2025 program later this year.”

The commercial office space, which is currently vacant, will give parade organisers 213sqm in which to work on the ninth floor at 309 Pitt St.

Since 2014, the council has provided more than $4.65m in sponsorship money to the Madi Gras.

The City Life Divisional Budget has taken one of the most recent hits, forking out the $500,000 to help save the 2024 parade that is estimated to bring $35m of economic benefit to NSW each year.

A City of Sydney Spokesperson said the council would continue to support Mardi Gras organisers through their economic struggles.

The lease commenced on September 1 and will run until August 31, 2026.

Just wowee. But I suppose monty needs to shake dat ass with his kinfolk. Shouldn’t expect the Council to pay for it however.

Disgraced Indigenous leader Geoff Clark has rolled out a who’s who list of world leaders in an attempt to showcase his good character as he faces jail for stealing almost $1 million from Aboriginal groups.

The former Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Commission chair’s legal counsel has outlined in the County Court his interactions with the likes of Nelson Mandela and the Dalai Lama, as well as Australian prime ministers in a bid to reduce his punishment.

Clark, 72, faced a pre-sentencing hearing on Wednesday after he was found guilty of 25 offences – 17 counts of theft, four of obtaining financial advantage by deception, two of perjury and one each of knowingly deal with proceeds of crime and give false testimony – following three separate trials between October and May.

The court heard Clark, once Australia’s most senior Aboriginal leader, had stolen some $922,000 from Kirrae Whurrong Community Inc, Maar Land Council and Framlingham Aboriginal Trust over 15 years.

He was also convicted of illegally accepting royalties from eel fishermen, and lying to the Federal Court when applying for bankruptcy in 2009.

Clark had always declared he did nothing wrong, but his lawyer Simon Kenny said the jury verdicts had been “acknowledged” and conceded the offending involved a “breach of trust” to Clark’s community.

Mr Kenny portrayed his client as a man who faced disadvantage and racism as a child, and has dedicated his life to advocating for Aboriginal people.

“He experienced the disadvantage that Aboriginal people experienced in the years that he was a child … and he fought against that,” Mr Kenny said.

“He has dedicated his life to fight against that.

“The racism he faced as a young man strengthened his sense of identity and pride as an Aboriginal man.

“His contributions are many and varied.”

He outlined a who’s who list of people Clark had associated with over the years, including meeting Nelson Mandela on a trip to South Africa and three meetings with the Dalai Lama in Melbourne and overseas.

“He has met and worked with many very senior people across the world,” Mr Kenny said.

He has also attended Kirribilli House with numerous Australian prime ministers “many times”, Mr Kenny said, and pointed out Greens candidate and proud Gunnaikurnai woman Marjorie Thorpe was in court to support him.

Ms Thorpe was also among 27 people who provided written character references to the court, but they were not read out.

In somewhat of an explanation for his offending, Mr Kenny stated: “Those funds didn’t go to funding a lavish lifestyle or anything like that.

“Mr Clark had legal fees that had to be paid.”

A large proportion of the stolen cash was used to pay for Clark to fight civil and criminal court proceedings brought against him over rape allegations and a pub brawl, the court heard.

A civil jury found that he led two pack rapes against a teenage girl in the 1970s but he was never charged of a criminal offence in relation to the allegations.

He was also convicted if obstructing police following the affray at Warrnambool’s Criterion Hotel.

Clark also illegally obtained funds from the Framlingham Aboriginal Trust to pay his household expenses, including rates and electricity bills.

The prosecution said it would not make any application for remuneration orders as its attempts to contact each of the entities duped had fallen on deaf ears.

The pre-sentencing hearing before Judge Michael O’Connell continues on Thursday.

I had a choice between Megyn Kelly, Patrick Bet David and Tim Pool for commentary on the debate. Megyn has 300,000 more views than the other 2.

I went with Megyn as she has actually been a debate moderator before. Plus I find her analysis very good.

Only caught first several minutes so far but all about the bias of the moderators. Said head of ABC news was the guy who introduced Harris to her husband and it was clearly Trump v 3. Far from happy and says Republicans must never let it happen again.

Had a look at Powerline and has an article up saying Trump lost according to Powerline guys friends and relatives. He is not a Trump fan.

It’s remarkable how this BS about Trump being in puttie’s pocket persists when Trump was the only one to take on puttie and bombed his Syrian air field.

I’m pretty sure the conditions the January 6 prisoners are held in are not like what Hersh Goldberg-Polin, Alexander Lobanov, Carmel Gat, Almog Sarusi, Eden Yerushalmi and Ori Danino endured.

Eden Yerushalmi weighed 36 kilograms before she was murdered.

Taking my own advice here. This is ‘nested’ somewhere below:

Nested comments ruin the thread because they miss being read and also you can’t do a ‘control F’ on someone’s name if they are using nested comments; the nested comments don’t come up only the main thread ones.
Makes these comments useless. Get rid of them. Or avoid them, I think I will in future, even if it means the bother of scolling back up all the time to the ridiculously placed top comment box to do so.

Middle class women will probably go for Kamala. She did the near-weepy female thing about abortion and various other ‘soft’ issues. The whole debate effort, including the interviewers’ contribution, was concentrated on appearing cool and rational, above anger and hysterics, ‘putting up with’ an old has been, and thus to make Trump appear to be floundering and tub-thumping, and a yesterday’s man. She kept repeating her rehearsed phrasing around that theme and used her little exasperated facial expessions to reinforce her butter wouldn’t melt in her sweet little mouth approach.

She’s dangerous. Highly schoolable and a very malleable puppet.

The main issue in the USA was ignored in the debate. You still have a federal budget deficit of $1.5 trillion with total debt of $35 trillion. The interest paid on this debt is over $1 trillion per annum. For the deficit to be financed money becomes unavailable to the private sector. Growth stagnates with core inflation higher than historical norms. The US like all western countries are in serious decline.

Andrew Bolt: New evidence exposes Pat Eatock’s tall tale
Thirteen years ago Pat Eatock sat in a courtroom and claimed I had intimidated, humiliated and insulted her by writing she was a “white Aboriginal”. If only I’d known then I’d been stitched up.

Thirteen years ago, Pat Eatock sat in a courtroom and told Justice Mordy Bromberg a tall tale which he used to ban two of my articles which I considered a shocking attack on our free speech.
Eatock, a socialist activist who died in 2015, had told Bromberg I had intimidated, humiliated and insulted her by writing she was a “white Aboriginal” who’d chosen to call herself Aboriginal when she plainly had other choices.
Eatock’s barrister, former judge Ron Merkel, then read out her statement.
“I am an Aboriginal person with Aboriginal ancestry.
“My grandmother, Lucy Eatock, was born in Carnarvon Gorge in central Queensland in 1874. This is an Aboriginal birthing place … She was one of the Kirri people.
“My grandmother’s mother was an Aboriginal woman called Kitty …
“My grandmother’s husband, my grandfather, was an Aboriginal man, Bill Eatock.”

“Dark Emu Exposed” strike again. Seems the lady had no Aboriginal heritage at all…..

Zulu Kilo Two Alpha
Zulu Kilo Two Alpha
September 11, 2024 7:16 pm

Every one of those Eatock claims I quoted are false. None of Eatock’s ancestors was Aboriginal.
Her grandmother Lucy wasn’t born in an “Aboriginal birthing place” in Carnarvon Gorge, but at her parent’s home in Springsure, 180km away, according to her birth certificate.
That certificate also shows Lucy’s mother wasn’t an Aboriginal woman called Kitty, but a Scottish woman, Jane, who was attended at the birth by a doctor and midwife.
Lucy looked not Aboriginal but like a carbon copy of Jane, as photos show.
There is no known “Kirri” tribe, nor record of any “Kitty”, who seems an invention inspired by a Tongan girl called Lizzie or Tacrow, taken in by Lucy’s parents for a few years after Lucy’s birth.
Nor was Eatock’s grandfather Bill an Aboriginal. Eatock made a false conclusion from the colour of his skin.
In fact, the genealogists found a missing birth certificate showing Bill’s father was Richard Rose, who came from St Vincent and the Grenadines, in the West Indies, and had a brief affair with a married white woman.
Rose turned out to be the son of a British slave-owner and, almost certainly, an African slave called Harriet. He inherited some money when his father died, and sailed to Australia to become Eatock’s “Aboriginal” ancestor.
In fact, Eatock’s genealogy shows she should never have been allowed to bring her case against me. She had no legal standing, not being Aboriginal I was right to say she’d just chosen to be one.
And the judge, it seems, was inadvertently misled.

Two of Bromberg’s cases, from Wiki. He’d be a mate of Bolta, sure thing:

In a 2021 case, Sharma v Minister for the Environment, Bromberg ruled that the federal Minister for the Environment had a duty of care, arising from the law of negligence, to protect children from climate change when considering whether to approve projects under the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999. Bromberg did not grant the injunction sought by the plaintiffs, a group of teenagers, who sought to bar the minister from approving an extension to the Vickery coal mine owned by Whitehaven Coal.

Bromberg’s ruling was unanimously overturned on appeal to the full bench of the Federal Court of Australia in 2022, with Chief Justice James Allsop stating government policy should be determined by the government and not by the courts.

In April 2023, a Federal Court ruling determined in favour of the native title application lodged by Anangu seven years earlier for around 10,000 km2 (3,900 sq mi) of pastoral lease land in the Northern Territory, that includes Erldunda, Lyndavale, and Curtin Springs cattle stations. This was the first recognition of commercial rights in Central Australia, and was handed down by Bromberg at a gathering in the remote community of Imanpa.

In response, Trump repeated a past lie that some US states allowed abortion “at nine months” or following birth, before defending his stance on the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v. Wade.

The claim drew a subtle rebuke from the moderator, who reminded viewers that there was nowhere in America where it was legal to kill a baby after birth.

This is what pisses me off about Orange Man. If he’d been properly prepared for the debate instead of winging it then he’d have known murder is illegal in every state of the union and nobody will believe his baby killing story. It’s just such an obvious lie. Just shooting himself in the foot.

Same with the Haitians eating pets in Springfield. Firstly the only person in this convo who cited a source was m0nty and it features neo nazis being the source. Secondly, even if it were true, it’s too far ahead of the Overton Window for it to work for Trump, so it works against him to say it. Again, where was the sensible prep?

I haven’t watched the debate but from the Cats’ reactions and the Sky summary it seems Trump did not win it. And there’s still time for Speshul-K to make more gains – if the Dems can fill out those joyful claims with substantive plans.

Justice Bromberg has had consistently poor judgements since being elevated to the bench. Regrettable not many have been appealed and those that have from a little research have mostly been overturned.

Proof that the purported checks and balances only work one way, when the Judicial arm is checking the legislative or executive arm. Not saying it should be used willy nilly but there are some woeful jurists out there and the cost to appeal anything even from the magistrates court is prohibitive/time consuming that most decline to pursue.

Parliament also needs to do it’s job and pass laws to balance the over-reaches of the bench. If justices under perform or stray outside their remit that’s up to parliament to correct too. Closest I saw any parliament in my lifetime come to disciplining a judge was O’Shane then they squibbed at the last moment.

Just a layman’s observation anyway.

Regarding the abortion issue in the debate.

Some may have missed the story in Oz a couple of weeks ago. A Adelaide Uni lecturer / researcher looked into abortion in Australia. She found that there were several cases where babies were aborted but came out alive and were basically left to die without any help. She was suspended by the Uni and took the csse to court and won. Can’t remember her name.

Trump used the word execution but did not explain well what he was talking about.

Have read and listened to plenty about the debate. Clearly the moderators were on Harris side and this was easily seen. However Trump should have been well aware of that likelihood and preparation therefore more important knowing that. Commentators have said Harris prepared well and had plenty of lines of attack ready to go.

.

I made the comment before the debate that Trump should mention the Haitians. This is because it was being mentioned so much and there was the eating pets angle. It appears he was posting about that prior to the debate.

I don’t know the truth of the eating stories and saw a mention that JD Vance, from that state, had walked back on the story. However 20,000 Haitians being added to a population of 60,000 is a big enough story to emphasis the problem of out of control immigration. With those numbers they could soon have control over leadership positions in the city just like Somalians have in Minnisota.

“In response, Trump repeated a past lie that some US states allowed abortion “at nine months” or following birth, before defending his stance on the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v. Wade.”

Fact checking the fact checkers….

https://hersmartchoice.com/blog/are-partial-birth-abortions-legal/

It’s “illegal” but with the usual caveat you can drive a truck full of dead babies through…

How does the law currently stand on partial birth abortions in the United States ?Partial birth abortions are a hot button issue in the United States legal system. Currently, the nationwide law concerning partial birth abortions is that they are only permitted if necessary to save a pregnant woman’s life

Then segues seamlessly into convenience as a life threatening issue.

It’s crap, most people support abortion as a regrettable, but necessary thing to be performed ASAP.
Yet the legbeard brigade won’t rest till they can abort 2 year Olds.

Tim Wlaz’s decision to install tampon dispensers in boys’ bathrooms in schools

No tampon dispensers were installed in boys bathrooms. It’s a myth.

There are many reasons why your mob
is losing, JC, this is but one of them. You believe in the most ridiculous lies.

Trump going with the Haitian cat eating thing was another huge mistake. Say hasta manana to the GOP Hispanic vote.

Trump and Vance just can’t help spewing racist and sexist rubbish, day after day.

It goes back to Trump’s reputation as an isolationist. It’s why he wouldn’t answer yes/no to the yes/no question of whether Ukraine should win the war. He may have a deal to end the war, but at what cost to principle?

You know what would be funny.

Dropping Monty of Malmo into the ,” little Cuba” part of new York so he can tell the dusky denizens there that Haitians are Hispanic

Is this Monty’s ” well they all look alike” moment?

Haiti is on the island of Hispaniola. Ergo Haitians are Hispanic.

The “new” facts about the Bolt case and Plibbers s10 decision might make the Courts a little more sceptical about the claims of our Indigenous friends. All too often they are taken as non justiciable and everyone proceeds on that basis. Might be time for a rethink.

Bourne 1879 at 10.30pm:

She was suspended by the Uni and took the csse to court and won. Can’t remember her name.

Impossible for me to forget her name, as I’ve had the misfortune to encounter her work IRL. Joanna Howe.

She’s a hard-core Roman Catholic, to the nth degree. In every other way she gives a credible impression of being to the left of Harris/Biden.

It would be justice were her razzing by the uni to have been stressful, upsetting, traumatic, financially debilitating, etc.

They’re being ably assisted by the administration. It’s the attempt to create a one party state.

I’ll put my hand up first. I’ve never eaten a cat or a dog. Knowingly.

I rarely, if ever, go down to a duck pond in the local park and start cutting their throats and plucking them. At least not in daylight hours. It’s not as if you “sneak up” on them. You shoot the bastards, Elmer Fudd style. No knife involved.

And why the hell are people stringing Cats in trees and gutting them like a Deer? There is no comparison. As a butchers son, none of that makes any sense.

Neither is the fact “illegals” wouldn’t just go to McDonalds with a knife, rather than wade around a pond with a knife clenched between their teeth?

The answer is simple. It’s a bullshit story. Manufactured.

Gutting Cats and decapitating ducks. Seriously?

No wonder Kamala smiled and chuckled. Trumps sons are “hunters”. But of course we all know better, as do the pundits. Nothing matters outside of the cities. Until the bread supply runs out.

Fun discussion on Sky News The Late Debate last night. Joe Hildebrand earning his keep for once. He pointed out that Kamala breathlessly held on to the word ‘actually’ for support on countless occasions, sometimes five times in the one response. Shows she was nervous. He also noted her up-rising intonations and the three little confirmatory nods she made after each one of those, indicating again her uncertainty. Liz Storer was very very strong for Trump, pointing out how the ‘cat’ scenario would pull in those amused by the viral vids of it, noting that Trump got his main points in again and again in spite of the moderators trying to field him away from them.

Kamala won imho in the ‘best facial expressions’ stakes though. Trump seemed rather wooden and that came over as resigned. He needs to practice his expressions, using some of those incredulous ones he used when Joe Biden was speaking. This debate style depends very much on the non-verbal visuals being used as a calculated response, which Kamala-the-actress handled well (and of course the camera obliginging hit on visuals of Kamala much more often).
