Good morning all.
Quelle surprise!
Thanks very much Megan. Will give it a go.
Listened for 2 hours at farm to Rogan interview of Trump then had visitor at the farm. Just tuned in to QLD results. Seems to me that Katter Party may decide the result through preferences. But that is with a few minutes assessment .
The page turned at 412 this time. No rhyme or reason to it.
As expected, pluckachook’s nasal squawking is excruciating – thankfully only heard during the breaks in songs I’m listening to.
muzza watt of the hideously fat uglee empty head also sounds like a woman (one unblessed with a todger).
Credlin just put some Labor Stooge Beta Male back in his diaper regarding babies born alive after abortion!
How did we get to this point? There shouldn’t be abortions after the first trimester, and this shouldn’t be an election issue. It’s cynical and nasty that it is used by the left. How much further down the moral barrel are we to go?
And while we’re on freaking dumb articles on the US election published by their ABC, here’s another:
Could little-known presidential contender Jill Stein hand the election to Donald Trump?
No. Just like she didn’t back in 2016. The assumption that Jill Stein voters would have voted for Hillary and now would vote for Kamala – but for Jill Stein’s candidacy!!! – is just so breathtakingly boneheaded that I don’t know where to start. The Dems don’t own these voters. Without Jill Stein, the vast majority of them simply wouldn’t have voted.

I don’t disagree but the LNP should have been prepared for this.
Labor always do ‘scare campaigns’ and they always do them well.
As I wrote this morning, Crisafooli and the LNP, by always chasing their tails, by always being too timid on everything, by always metooing, have just shrunk and shrunk and shrunk.
Sounds like Crisafulli has managed to pull off a cliffhanger. Must have run an ordinary campaign given where the Chook left the place.
Wow looking closer than I thought or should be. Stark differences between the regions & Brisbane.
Miles is an imbecile. Worse than Palace”chook”.
Hopefully the postals and pre-polls tighten things up.
One good point, greenslime aren’t gaining nuthin.
Greens losing South Brisbane to Labor.
Bwaaah! Goose Swansteen looking a very loud shade of cancerous puce at labore HQ.
The sort of brilliant deafening crimson not witnessed since waffles turnbuckle’s legendary meltdown at the Sofitel in 2016.
The 16 year old chap from KENT with a blue jacket is spot on.
Raw and real.
Dumping the Chook looking like an unequivocally good move.
I note the goat rooters are active in the chat.

In fairness, no hiring manager is going to believe a convicted felon’s claim they didn’t do nuffink and the judge was biased, honest guv. ABCess is being realistic on that point.
On the specifics I assume the ABC was referencing (IIRC) Trump being found guilty of the crime of concealing another crime of misappropriation of campaign funds in paying off Stormy, despite the prosecution having never proved the campaign funds were misappropriated (so it wasn’t concealing a crime).
LNP set to win Mackay for first time
The former Labor stronghold of Mackay is set to flip to the Liberal National Party for the first time.
With 20 per cent of the vote counted, the LNP’s Nigel Dalton, with 41 per cent of the primary vote, leads Labor newcomer Belinda Hassan on 31.5 per cent.
One Nation candidate Kylee Stanton is in third position, with 12 per cent.
It’s a remarkable result given Mackay’s long history of voting for Labor, even in 2012 during the Campbell Newman landslide victory.
Reading “Duff Cooper’s Diaries” – his opinion of Wallis Simpson, Duchess of Windsor – “Hard as nails, and she doesn’t live him.”
Waiting for pre poll to drop, pendulum swinging LNP way now…

Closer than early polling suggested but ABC has LNP on a 2PP of 52.7 : 47.3, and ahead 41:34 on seats with 4 others (Green, KAP, Indy).
Skah is calling it way closer but their algorithm might be aimed at selling more hamburgers into the late evening.
If in doubt, go with Antony.

33 Reasons to Vote for Trump – Bill Ackman
Summary: In this episode of TRIGGERnometry, billionaire hedge fund manager Bill Ackman discusses his reasons for supporting Donald Trump in the upcoming presidential election. He offers insights into his views on American politics, the role of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) policies, and various domestic and international issues. Ackman expresses concerns about the current state of America, including government inefficiencies, media biases, and immigration policies. He emphasizes the importance of strong leadership, outlines the need for economic growth, and critiques the Democratic party’s direction. Dutton and the federal Liberals better be prepared for the mother of all electoral scare campaigns, watch federal Labor resurrect ‘Mediscare’, watch federal labor bring up abortion, and watch them try and paint Dutton as Hitler.
Memo to the federal Liberals, don’t say you weren’t warned.
41 : 34 is way ahead of what Courier Mail and Ch 9 saying where they have it neck and neck.
ABC has LNP on a 2PP of 52.7 : 47.3, and ahead 41:34 on seats
Wow. ABC despite ALP bias is again more watchable than Sky.
One thing though if being able to murder unborn children in the 2nd & 3rd trimester with no medical reason other than medical (Not psychological reasons) reasons is a winning issue than this country is stuffed.
We gaol animal abusers for less FFS.
Looks like Stephen Andrew who jumped from One Nation to Katter in Mirani is going to lose to LNP.
Looks like One Nation getting 0 seats.
Ch 9 now giving it 40 to 37 for LNP.

Crisafooli will probably scrape in. Is that good news or bad news? I think the latter, it means the LNP will be paralysed with fear for four years and thus nothing will be done, they won’t repeal anything, they’ll be too shit scared to rock any boats.
Pretty pathetic showing. Campbell Newman warned us for weeks this would happen, that Crisafooli was the incredible shrinking opposition leader. Newman was right.

Looks.like giggling girty is conceding
Miles saying LNP can’t form majority Government.
?
At 52% counted the LNP are ahead of ALP by just as many seats as are still in doubt, meaning the ALP could not overtake the LNP. It’s fair to call it for the LNP at this point.
What we may not know until Sunday is whether they get the 3 more seats they need for majority rule in their own right. You’d have to say that looks likely.
What a swarmy prick Miles is.
He can’t win but won’t concede.
My god, the QLD greens are recruiting from the special needs units now?

Yep an A1 deadshit with that inane grin.
Miles giving long list of all the free stuff he was giving away.
Not gracious enough to say anything good about opposition. Not phoned Crisafulli.
Seems Giggles has conceded defeat – he’s claiming that the LNP won’t be able to form majority Government. Sounds like “sour grapes” to me.
50 seats to lnp looks like a convincing win to me.
Would have been shocked if lnp hadn’t won. Would be good if the new premier picked up the ball and ran with it.
How did Amanda Stoker do in the Queensland election? Win, loss or undetermined?
I have been out tonight so am just now catching up with the happenings up north.
Week in paictures up.
47 seats now to the lnp apparently.
ABC saying Greens now a possibility to lose Maiwar.
The ABC now has it 47 LNP, 31 Liars, 3 KAP, 1 Indy … zero Greens.
11 in doubt.
Hopefully next week one of first things Crisafulli does is cancel the truth telling commission. If not will know going to be a weak Government.
Crisafulli gracious in his comments toward Miles and his departing MPs.
Of the eleven doubtful, LNP ahead in five.
So final will be something like LNP 52, Liars 36, KAP 4, Indy 1.
Whoever wrote Skah News predictive algorithm needs a boot up the arse.
The best part of the night is seeing that the greens may have doughnut seats in the Qld parliament.
One of the good stories from the election. Via Courier Mail.
LNP supporters were elated as news spread Russell Field had won the seat of Capalaba.
Cheers ignited at the Cleveland Party, with an emotional Mr Field hugged by several of his party members.
His first words after the win, “we’re ordering pizzas!”
There were tears from many has crowds then began chanting “Russell” as he embraced his wife.
“We’ve said before we can’t let Matt, Kate and Miles’ deaths be in vain and hopefully this is something we can achieve … some good for ourselves and others to give … Matt and Kate a legacy.”
Mr Field said he received a message from Labor candidate Don Brown who sent his best wishes after conceding his long-held seat.
“I’ve since rung him and we’ve had a discussion but he’s a character where we see sort of mostly different sides of the coin but the whole campaign was reasonably fair all across the board,” he
said.
NO GREENS ELECTED!
What a graceless shit Stephen Miles is.
mUnty with his usual disappearing act. So predictable from our Malmo correspondent.
Crisafulli fallls into government with a mandate to do what? Not be Liars.
mUnty with his usual disappearing act.
Be fair. He can’t comment on the Queensland election because all his talking points are telling him to call Trump Hitler. And he’s already done that.
Sniveller news (the CM):
Nice. Real nice.
Or, in fact, any government.
Sooky nancy boy. It’s almost as though he expected a different result.
Yep. This was in Miles’ speech:
Led you to win? You didn’t win anything. However, Miles did have someone in his corner:
Mr Swan. I extend to you the opportunity to eat shit.
Miles more proof that so many pollimuppets are not normal people. What a petulant ungracious slug.
Watching the ABC broadcast on the electric television, it was interesting to watch the odious Cameron Dick morphing from sneering Crisafulli critic and Miles cheerleader.
After Miles giggled and bragged and bagged out the LNP and generally farted at Queenslanders in his embarrassing speech, and the result confirmed a majority LNP government, and Crisafulli rather too generously congratulated Miles on his service while claiming victory – Dick suddenly became the Party Elder Statesman, all discrete and dignified.
He is a ‘smartest man in the room’, thwarted by dullards like Palacechook and Grinning Boy, and he wants the ALP Leadership sooo badly.
You give the ABC far too much credit, which is always a mistake. And your analogy misses the point entirely. You are not comparing apples with apples (as the ABC was not). Trump’s popularity is in part due to the fact he is an obvious victim of a weaponised judicial system. The extent to which he is a “convicted felon” under the auspices of this corrupt system helps rather than harms him.
Incidentally, Trump is not a convicted felon. To my understanding, you become a convicted felon upon sentencing, and Trump has not been sentenced and probably never will be.
Safeway then.
To those on the diet, remember this.

Nah Cranky, I think the Libs should lean into it, go the full dover_beach. Fill campaign materials with galleries of dismembered fetuses, picket medical clinics, death threats all round. It’s an electoral winner, db says so!
This is why mid-term polls mean absolutely nothing. The pressure of a campaign brings out a far more truthful picture of the mood of the electorate.
Queensland is the strongest LNP state at the moment.
And maiwar is no longer green.
The only good thing to come out of the Queensland election is no green slime.
So, what shrunk Crisafooli and nearly did him in? His small target strategy and his metooing or the abortion scare? My money is on the former. But what the abortion scare did do was confirm his supine cowardice. He constantly looked like a deer caught in the flashlights of an ongoing car.
As I wrote last night, Dutton and the Liberals better be ready for the mother of all scare campaigns prior to the next election.
Back to QLD, a win is a win, let’s see what the LNP does moving forward. As for the thug Miles, his concession speech last night was a disgrace. But what do we expect from Labor?
The Greens gone in Queensland?
Can’t imagine why. Oh yes, I can actually. A righteous result.
Nah Cranky, I think the Libs should lean into it, go the full dover_beach. Fill campaign materials with galleries of dismembered fetuses, picket medical clinics, death threats all round. It’s an electoral winner, db says so!
Just piss off, Nazi, you’re a disgrace. Here’s an idea, Nazi boy, no doubt your Hamas buddies are having another Jew hating festival today somewhere in Melbourne’s CBD, you should go join them, you fit right in.
Oh and I note you’ve never said one word of condemnation about the raped women of October 7 2023 or the butchered children and babies of October 7 2023. But this we know, you support rape and murder, the caveat being it just depends on who is being raped and murdered. Just like you support political violence against those whose opinions you don’t like.
Our resident Nazi is an epicurean when it comes to violence, murder and rape, he’s very discerning as to who it is used against.
He should piss off.
The best news of the night, one that we can all celebrate (except of course our resident Nazi) is that the Australian Nazi Party aka the Greens have crashed and burned in the QLD election.
Jew hatred will always come back to bite Jew haters on the bum.
That might just be the reality check some people need. Many see abortion as a disconnected “right”, it even has to be dressed up as a “reproductive right”, so as not to scare the horses.
To actually see what it is in reality might change a few minds. I’ve held a 32 week baby in my hands. How anyone could imagine killing her for convenience is beyond me.
Overnight it was nice to see London streets filled with ordinary British working men and women waving Union Jacks, you could also see the Israeli flag being waved along with the flag of Imperial Iran.

The article
https://www.timesofisrael.com/under-a-lebanese-border-village-idf-finds-huge-hezbollah-base-primed-for-invasion/
Yesterday in London there was a much smaller counter-protest to the patriot protest. The smaller protest was organised by far-left Nazi scum. Of course, that protest seethed threats, intimidation and violence. The far-left Nazi scum’s advertising of its counter-protest said it would be a rally to protest the far-right, Islamophobia and anti-Semitism. It’s just that no Zionists are welcome! And at the the Nazi Pallie rally there was NO Israeli flags to be seen. No, no, no. Just lots of Pallie Nazi flags and shouts of the genocidal ‘from the river to sea‘. LOL. So much for protesting against Jew hatred. Of course, the overflowing fountains of Jew hatred aren’t found with the British patriots, no, they’re found among the far-left Nazi scum.
“Devastating” doesn’t even cover it. I felt sick to my stomach when she was carrying on about “a swipe of my pen” destroying people’s lives and how happy that seemed to make her.

Fraud Found Among 2,500 Voter Registration Forms Submitted En Masse In PA County (27 Oct)
That’s in just one county in PA. There’re about fifty more counties, so that’d imply something like 250,000 fraudulent voter registration in just that one swing state. Probably a lot more since this was just one batch. No doubt the activists have been working for weeks if not years to set things up solidly.
Bad news for the UN also.

The lesbian bitch going on about Hitler and nazzies. A truly evil old woman.
I turned on Fox News and it’s Michelle Obama at a rally going on about abortion, abortion and more abortion. It seems the left have made it a winner for them. Hope Americans voter ignore it better than Queensland voters.
I thought it was pretty much ignored here in Qld. Didn’t the lnp win convincingly? Interesting and.puke making how campaigns by the American left are just tweaked for here. I wonder how many democrat kunts are here advising the alp?
Democrats want uniform national abortion laws in the US. That creates a precedent where you can then put in place national election laws. Someone should suggest that and see how it goes.
There’ve been more and more stories lately that Kamala has a male voter problem. I suspect this fanatical abortion abortion abortion chant is at least part of it. Labor might need to be a bit careful with this sort of thing, as blue collar men appear increasingly fed up by the uni educated green-progressives running the ALP.
Abortion is like a sacrament to the post wwII left. An obsession of the wimmin’s movement. I suspect its appeal is the anti family, anti motherhood feature of it.

I can remember as teenager in Sydney how a group of Marxist lesbians smashed up a bridal shop. Lesbian uni filth. What a sick joke hiya ejucashun is and has been for decades.
Crossie
If challenged by the states, I suspect the Supreme Court would find national abortion laws unconstitutional. The Court basically delegated the issue of abortion to the states, so I doubt it would allow the federal government to reclaim authority over it.

S-300s are seriously capable AA missile systems, yet they didn’t even muss the hair of the four F-16 ladies who participated in the airstrike. And the rocket fuel factory sounds like it might’ve gone up with a very respectable kaboom.
The Obamas aren’t saving Kamala Harris. They’re exposing how bad she really is
Another thing I remember about the wimmin’s movement is how they’d say something ‘stinks of natalism’. You are dealing with the most evil people imaginable.
Nice, tidy win by the libs in Queensland. The result is close enough to keep them on their toes instead of going full Campbell Newman—trying to ban motorcycles and then losing not only their massive majority but the government as well.
I really have my doubts about Criss-Folly (Crisafulli). In his post-election speech, he mentioned how great it was that, as the son of a former factory worker, he rose to this height, saying it made Australia a wonderful country. Isn’t that a putdown to anyone with what he considers a ‘lowly’ job? How about acknowledging that his dad had an honest, respectable job? How about not saying anything at all, instead of picking up crap used by US pols.?

How the State “Deals With” Dissidents
It very well could be, Fatboy. But keep this in mind—it might just make those ugly reddish hairs on your back stand up on end.
After the Rudd win, the election cycle saw wall-to-wall Labor across the nation. Unless I’m mistaken, it was Queensland that first began the shift toward the Liberals, ultimately leading most states to turn away from the Liars and culminating in the Abbott victory. Keep this nightmare in mind each night to scare yourself to death.
I had no idea these positions were hereditary. I suppose it goes with their consanguinity practice as a whole.

What’s my take? He’s bullshitting. There’s no way the country could sustain current federal spending levels solely through tariffs.
U.S. imports are just under $4 trillion annually. Meanwhile, federal government spending is about 25% of GDP, or roughly $6 trillion.
To keep things steady—assuming no other changes—tariffs would have to increase by 150%. And that’s without accounting for the likely fallout in both imports and exports.
He may, however, hike tariffs by 10% and lower corporate tax rates to 15%, alongside reducing income taxes. He’s also determined to challenge China.
I’m fine with pushing back on the CCP, but I’m more cautious on the tariffs. Income tax cuts are a slight positive, though.
He often cites President McKinley’s tariff policies as inspiration, but here’s the problem:
While McKinley did raise tariffs, he started reversing them once he realized they didn’t work as well as hoped. Also, federal spending in McKinley’s era was around 3% of GDP—far below today’s level.
If he wins—and I doubt it, given the lengths the organized crime racket you support will go to by trying to massively cheat—Trump plans to bring in some serious talent. They’d aim to cut massive waste, saving around $1 trillion annually. Washington-based civil servants should probably be concerned for their jobs.
Not really. Choas means chaotic markets, which are great for market makers as the spreads between bid and offer widens. Traders like strong trends even short term ones, but mostly trends.

Given that not one Greens candidate got elected in Qld this suggests to me that the following applied:
I wonder how many voters in QLD reviewed the Greens election policies for their state. Talk about pixieland. Free stuff everywhere, plus more renewables for “cheap” (read expensive, non-reliable energy), higher royalties on mining (kill the golden goose that feeds you), break up the supermarket chains to bring prices down (it would do the opposite) and start a bank with no fees (Lah lah land). I note that some of their more abhorrent and damaging stances eg re Middle East pro Pali, are not even mentioned. See here. https://greens.org.au/qld/plan
LA Times went before WaPo in deciding not to endorse a candidate. Jennifer Rubin, at the WaPo came out with a piece strongly suggesting that anyone with an ounce of decency would resign from the LA Times over this. Next day WaPo went the same way as the LA Times. She hasn’t resigned.
Ent, if they ran the government solely on tariffs, it would, at the most, fund the military. I tend to go with Friedman though. 10% of GDP should be the top-most take.

Mr Dick – the Deputy Premier and Treasurer in Steven Miles’s ALP government – said under party rules, the leadership would automatically be spilled, and said he has not yet made a decision whether he would run or not.
Asked whether Mr Miles should stay on as Opposition leader, Mr Dick pointedly refused to say.
“It’s too early,” he said, flagging he would be “reaching out” to his colleagues to talk about what should happen next.
“I honestly have not made a decision yet.”
Mr Dick said the party needed to “heal a little bit” but needed to “have a good look at ourselves”.
“Whoever is the leader…has to rebuild trust in regional Queensland,” he said.
The Woodridge MP said Labor lost trust on crime, particularly in the regions, where the ALP government appears to have lost seats it has held for more than a hundred years, including Mackay.
On Saturday night, Mr Miles did not concede defeat to Liberal National Party leader David Crisafulli, and failed to congratulate his opponent or acknowledge his family, as is traditional.
In a defiant speech, he said he would “never stop holding the LNP to account,” a statement some in his party interpreted as him indicating he wanted to stay on as Opposition leader.
Labor strategists and MPs will be doing the numbers on the remade caucus and factional breakdown.
The other leadership contender is Shannon Fentiman, she and Mr Miles are both of the left faction, which was dominant in the Palaszczuk and Miles governments.
Mr Dick is from the Right faction.
“where the A.L.P. governemnt appears to have lost seats it had held for more then a hundred years..”
Far Left Fentiman holds little appeal for regional QLD.
Crisafulli prepares LNP for takeover as Miles finally concedes (Paywallian)
I take this to mean the 3am ballot drops didn’t eventuate…
Speaking of which, there’ll be quite a few ex-ABC journos from the Premier’s Office pondering their next career move this morning.
Nobody wanted a fourth term more than them.
Hi, Cobby!

Crisafulli reference to factory worker father was talking about Miles’s father. Crisafulli did have the decency to acknowledge Miles and his family.
Crisafullis father is still a cane farmer in Ingham.
Miles: Joined the Filth at High School (hence the grinning very punchable face) no doubt to get back at the bullies who beat him not often enough. Left HS and joined the unions as a staffer cleaning privvies, slimed his way up to get a MP seat then on up the sh*t pole to Deputy and then defaulting into the Premier chair.
NEVER elected Premier, failed at his first election.
Gave 53% of Qlders the FU during his speech last night, not even acknowledging they want shot of this bag of rats and other vermin.
Well done Qld Regions who turfed out those SEQ grubs. My hat is off. I’ll be joining you next year.

‘What the F**k to do With Them?’: Russian Troops Not Thrilled with North Korean Conscripts (25 Oct)
Certainly language barrier problems. Getting enough translators who can speak Russian and North Korean would be a tough ask. And the Nork army has been pretty sedate for the last seventy years, so I suspect Russian veterans might not find them entirely combat ready.
Employment and Workplace Relations Minister Murray Watt says Israel launching air strikes on Iran is “another concerning development” in what has become a “very long-running conflict”.
Why is this “concerning”? .. Israel reacts after being attacked and Minister Watt considers this “concerning” ..
“Well, to be honest & frank, Minister, I’d be more “concerned” if Israel; had dun ‘nuttin” …….!
This election now sees NT and Qld decisively dump inept bumbling corrupt Labor Govts.
No wonder Jacinta in Vic has suddenly burst into life. Vic will be close and she’ll probably scrape in. Mainly because such a yuuuge portion of voters are Govt and unionised brain deads.
But Federally the election results are confirming Dutton’s polls. And momentum is swinging away from Sleazy Albo.
Sh*tforbrains m0ron is in a quiet panic at the prospect of his deviants party losing control. The Voice rejection, Hamas /Islam support, fueling the COL crisis, the Sleazy coastal mansion, the visa for terrorists debacle, the Ruinable squander pit etc etc- all chickens coming home to roost.
The fact that the USA is split between Trump and Harris tells you that half the population is either completely stupid or complicit in the great reset. I think mostly the former, but with the Dems and most of the media backing Harris, and with otherwise smart people like Harold Ford Jnr. and Jessica Tarlov firmly on the left’s team, there is a large cohort that are complicit and basically wishing for the USA to go down just like the statues went down.
They must think they’ll score well afterwards – sort of like a QLD health authority becoming Governor.
The Patrick Carlyon column is as good as anything the Mocker has done. Very funny.
From the “Well worth reading” file .. I haven’t really been into sci fi novels for a dozen or so years but picked this one up, mainly, cos it is backdrops around “Toon” & surrounds so piqued my interest being an ex “toon” lad…..!

LOL a lot cope on Poll Bludger’s site this morning.
They are already predicting a one term Government.
Well the bookies were right and looks like polls were reasonably close in the end.
From multiple sites looks like the LNP will gain 6 more has them with a 7 seat majority which is comfortable in Qld’s unicameral parliament.
KAP marking time, they’ll probably hold Mirani. However in 4 years watch for Cooktown local farmer Bruce Logan, he had to withdraw from this race due damage to his farm by Cyclone Jasper. He’s a good candidate and popular up the Cape from what I’m told.
PHON got zip, Ashby ran a pretty high profile campaign couldn’t get up in the end.
Greens zilch, zero. Great. I think antisemitism is the biggest reason there, will they learn and dial back the rhetoric? Yeah, probably na.
As for the weasel Miles, had a great run being protected by the media but last night that came to an end and he true self smart alec narcissistic character reappeared.
Dutton should be preparing for the Abortion scare though, I reckon they’ll wheel it out next year even though it is a state based issue.
Lethbridge is going to be distraught.
The best political caricature since John Howard’s eyebrows will now be unusable.
Why can’t we have a debate about late term abortions at least?
There is widespread public opposition to them.
It’s another example of political cowards fearing a noisy minority.
Hey JC, what are your thoughts on Trump telling Rogan he will replace the income tax with tariffs. How can anyone who has the faintest notion of proper finance support that moron.
moron.
Dickless projecting. Trump is not bound by conventional economics like leftoids and RINOs and other faux conservatives: that is why he turned the US into an economic powerhouse in his first term. One of the benefits of tariffs is they can regulate commie and muzzie slave economies which strategically dump on the West their artificially cheaper products. This is the fatal weakness of globalism which the idiots in the West signed us up to under the commie leadership of the UN. Trump knows this, leftoids don’t or do and don’t care.
Now go and tend to the milko’s kiddies.

10 things to know about the Catholic Church in Lebanon

I usually like to watch election coverage on the ABC when the Libs are likely to win because it’s such a glorious source of pure salt, but credit where it’s due – their coverage of the Qld election was actually pretty decent and balanced. The only thing that stuck out a bit is that you seemed to hear a lot more from Cameron Dick than the others, although that could have been because he spent most of his time living up to his surname and thus was more noticeable.
Miles’s non-concession speech was as surreal as it was mean-spirited. Taking nasty jabs at the (former) opposition as if the campaign was still running and then talking as if he’d won. Stay classy, Stevo. Why was he going on about his election promises as if they’d been enacted and were a raging success? Bizarre. Quite a contrast with Crisafulli’s gracious victory speech who came straight out of the gate thanking/praising Miles and the Liars (sounds like a band name). Sure, he’d likely had the advantage of watching Miles’s extremely ill-considered speech and wisely decided he would adopt a very different posture, but still.
You get the impression that Miles’s speech would have been the speech Hillary would have given on election night back in 2016 if she’d had the stones to give one rather than sending the pizza guy out instead.
Why can’t we have a debate about late term abortions at least?
Indeed Roger. I had my rant last night about 2nd & 3rd trimester terminations and the fact we gaol people for lesser animal cruelty offences.
Unfortunately 99% of the media and even some members of the LNP aren’t mature enough for that conversation.
Last couple of weeks has just proved that.
The filth gone in QLD is great but I worry about Crisafulli. The first thing this guy has to do is meet up with Lia Finocchiaro who has balls bigger than Crisafulli’s head: they should merge their efforts on youth crime and crime in general, energy, both have to endorse Duttie’s nuclear while supporting the continuation of coal in the interim, and reducing the destructive impact of woke issues, particularly the 3rd nations bullshit. With Lia by his side Crisafulli should be able to negate the abortion issue, something Duttie should do as well with the addition and support of some of the other ballsy ladies such as Jacinta.
As has been noted, a win is a win. Starts with no political capital and a district lack of promise.
And it is going to be a thing of beauty if the Greens end up with zero seats. That would easily be the sweetest victory of all coming out of Qld. May it happen.

Witches Claim They’re Finding It Too Hard to Cast Spells Against Trump Because of Some ‘Protection’ (26 Oct)
They do have form, since they spent all of Trump’s presidency casting spells at him every crescent moon, none of which worked.
Agree but it wouldn’t be something the Libs would take to an election. The ALP would run the mother of all scare campaigns over it and it would likely work.
And to be honest I doubt most in the Liberal party room care all that much about it anyway. The Nats maybe moreso.
Now that is something I did not expect.
Beware, though…the Green voter still lurks in inner city Brisbane.
having watched this, well off liberal white women are an absolute catastrophe. sorry but universal suffrage is a failure
And ultimately the Libs haven’t got the balls to take a principled position on anything that hasn’t been thoroughly poll-tested (preferably at an actual poll).
I still despise the Libs, incidentally. Will never forgive nor forget their shameful enabling of and acquiescence to the COVID tyrannies enacted by the state governments of this fallen country. And at the state level they were just as bad, just as weak.

Labor and Coalition label Greens ‘extremists’ as the minor party suffers devastating blow in Queensland election (Sky News, 27 Oct)
Having Watt and Littleproud on the same page is fairly amazing. I think the Greens might just’ve screwed the pooch. Unfortunately that probably means more Teals, but they at least don’t seem to be as rabid.

An electric ‘Bushmaster’ infantry vehicle could be deployed by the Australian Army as part of plans to transition.
Australian Defence Force Announces Net Zero Strategy—-
complete insanity
As I stated, political cowards.
This is how you end up with a country where you can’t be seen to be praying silently in the vicinity of an abortion clinic without being arrested but a mob can march down a main street chanting antisemitic slogans and waving terrorist flags with impunity.
The military is no doubt transitioning in more ways than one.
Imagine the logistics train for an electric-powered army. You’d need enormous mobile batteries in the rear. They’d be quite a target too. If the enemy hit one of them there wouldn’t be much left of anything within a couple hundred metres of it. And all of those vehicles would grind to a halt and likely need to be abandoned. Options to obtain energy from alternative sources would be, at best, extremely limited if not non-existent. Such a terrible idea.
I too am delighted to see the Greens rubbed out of Parliament – and also the failure of their strategic runs at urban seats. I suspect this might be related to leakage of ‘latte soft left’ and ‘concerned environmentalist’ voters, disgusted by Green Marxist activism on the national stage, flipping back to Labor.
The puzzling thing is that there doesn’t appear to have been a significant fall in the overall Greens vote compared to 2020. The count isn’t finalised, however the preliminary numbers show the Greens again picked up ~9.5% of first preferences, with a possible slight reduction in total numbers.
At this stage, my conclusion is that the Green vote still lurks in Brisbane – but its distribution has somehow changed. Although I’m not at all sure how or why that might be.
It’s a question that needs answers.
They are incorrigible. Better than the UK Tories but not much.

Jebus. Talk about a low bar.
I went to buy a set of cartridges for my very old HP copier yesterday. I came home, removed the old ones, and installed the new cartridges, but I got a message saying the new cartridges were faulty. I went back, showed them a picture of the fault, and they were happy to replace them. I then came home and installed the new ones, but the same fault message came up. So, back I went, but this time I just replaced the printer with a new one. They were actually good enough to take the redundant cartridges back too.
The printer was $269, and the refund for the cartridges was $254 so the additional out of pocket was $15. I find this incredible. I’m guessing, like similar products that require recurring replacements, they keep the cost of the device low and then hit you hard on the replacements.
Here’s the point though. It appears that the replacement parts are now so expensive – so price inflated- that it is just as economic replacing an old printer with a new one every time you run out.
My purchase was $252 for three toners, while I bought the larger black toner about a month ago which cost me $117 bringing the total to $369 – $100 more than a brand new one! HP appears to be way out of whack with their pricing model.
