As expected, dealing with Vodafone is an exercise in indignity. Don’t even get a Patel anymore. He’s been replaced by an AI bot.

Having experienced the same level of crappy service from Telstra, Optus and now Vodafone over the years is it now time to commence the cycle all over again?

I am still ambivalent as to whether this is real.

Wow, they are way worse than the Aviation Regiment march past at Oakey family day a few years ago. It was obvious aviation doesn’t do marching.

Been on a big passing out parade , pipes at the front, brass band at the rear … Marching off to “Our Director”, front half the column out of step with the back, both halves in step with what they could hear clearest, but they were a pace out.

Of course he won’t be. Engage in acts of Jew hatred, and if the police bother investigating or charging the Jew haters, they’ll just receive a tap on the hand…no criminal conviction here…

A 17-year-old alleged vandal charged over a pro-Palestinian attack that caused more than $100,000 worth of damage to Jewish Labor MP Josh Burns’ electorate office, during which he allegedly hit the glass facade 14 times with a sledgehammer, is on track to avoid a criminal conviction.

The boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, and an 18-year-old woman were charged over the vandalism attack in which windows were smashed and slogans, including “Zionism is fascism”, were spray-painted on the St Kilda electorate office of Mr Burns on June 19. Police allege the boy caused $55,000 worth of damage in the alleged vandalism spree that left taxpayers with an total estimated bill of $101,417.

On Spud logic (which he used on Sinc-Cat to try to say 93.1% of Americans were agin Trump in 2016).

Let’s look at the popular vote. Best projection (they’re still counting here and there) is Trump 50.5%, Harris 48.0%.

Turnout was 65%, which means that 35% of Yanks had no say in the result.

If you add votes for Harris to the quantum of non-voters, you get 48% + 35% (100% – 65%) = 83%.

What the school teacher fails to grasp is that the 50.5% and 48% are of the votes cast, so you simply can’t add them to abstentions … apples and oranges.

If turnout was 65%, Trump got 50.5% of 65% (32.825%) and Kamal-toe got 48% of 65% (31.2%). This doesn’t quite add to 65% because of minor candidates.

He then makes the leap that the other 35% of abstentions “didn’t want Trump”.

His reasoning is fundamentally faulty.

According to his own logic, only 17% of the eligible voters support Trump.

His logic means Starmer is not the legitimate PM of the UK…
He got 43.7% of a 59% turnout. … Thus 56.3 who voted against him + 41% who didn’t vote (= 97.3%) thus Starmer has support of 2.7% of eligible voters in the UK.

Back in 2013 this is what Kevin Rudd said about Abbott….

Asked about the growing likelihood of armed conflict, Mr Rudd depicted the Liberal leader as a “pugilist” who was suppressing his combative nature and could therefore not be trusted to handle diplomacy where “words are bullets”.

“You’ve got to sit back, think and calmly reflect, and then work through what the best decision is, and temperament and judgment and experience are quite important,” he told the Seven network’s Mark Riley.

I am stunned, absolutely stunned that Tony Abbott has chosen to speak up and advocate for a grub like Kevin Rudd.

I have zero sympathy for Justin Welby. Over the last decade he has relentlessly pursued and corrupted the church with woke ideology, be it supporting BLM and the Georgina Floyddina riots in 2020, supporting reparations for colonialism and slavery, refusing to speak up for Christianity in the face of Islam, supporting the country that doesn’t and never will exist…’Palestine’….and so on.

Welby lived for woke, Welby governed the church using woke ideology, and in the end Welby was woked by woke. Serves him right. Live by woke, die by woke..

Welby lived for woke

He didn’t always do so.

He switched sides after becoming AofC in a way that is not easily accounted for, unless it was simply a desire to be popular.

I was pleased to hear Gavin Ashenden, the Queen’s former chaplain, given the opportunity to provide some informed & insightful commentary on ABC news radio this morning.

I heard this piece of doggerel, set during the Abyssinian s crisis of 1936,years ago,but it’s the first I knew the author was Duff Cooper, he of the diaries fame..

The Duce gives the order
To march against the foe
And off to Abyssinia the organ grinders go
But now they’re quite incapable
Of any sort of grind
And they’re back from Abyssinia
With their organs left behind

The hosts of Ethiopia
March back to hearth and home
With knick-knacks for the mantelpiece
Imported straight from Rome

The Pope is inundated
With pleas to join his choir
From men whose tenor voices
Are now an octave higher

Il Duce calls a rally
Of veterans tried and true
“Heroes” he cries “My Heroes
What can we do for you?”

“What price is theirs who answer
Their country when she calls
What shall your Duce give you?”
His soldiers answered “BALLS!”

Arky, are you going back to Model A wheels or sticking with the later ones?

Or have a set of both to suit your fancy, alongside the five-slotters. 🙂

Arky
November 13, 2024 11:04 pm

I have one original 21 inch wheel off the car, which I just reshod with new rubber at $300 a pop. I’m mounting it where the spare goes on the back for decorative purposes only.
The rest of the car is in 17” 1933-34 Ford wire rims which were used on the Model B, the first model with the flathead V8s.
Two of these came with the car and I think we’re probably a 1950s era addition by some boy racer post WW2 greaser.
I bought all new rubber for the 17 inchers before the shed fire. Two were fine, one was so so, but one was slightly melted. I’m replacing the bad one tomorrow.
I’m looking around for another 17 inch wire wheel.
Plenty in the USA but the $250 postage makes it an iffy prospect. Locally pretty rare to find the exact right ones.

Stop teasing, Nelson.
Genuine Ford 5 slots belong on certain Falcon GTs only, as any fule no.
I am sure Arky will find his way to the true path – chrome reverse rims, narrow whitewalls, a Buick nailhead with multiple carbs and plenty of chrome. Dumped in front, couple of longboards out the back window, and, of course, a deep, smooth paint job – I see apricot, natch.
The result, with care and attention to detail, will look just like something from a Gidget movie. Boss wheels, Man.

Correct, it isn’t Monty. Further to Monty, where he is?

Most people who are sane and get a prediction badly wrong will look to see why. They will scrutinise their assumptions, they will doubt their verities and worry about their certainties.

M0nty has a different approach. He just waits for his memory to blur just how big a prat he has been and assumes everyone else will do the same. So after a short wait, he’ll be back, as dumb and wrong about everything as usual. He’s incapable of learning, so he’ll never change.

Yeah, nah.
Most people get pissed off if you try to point out when they were wrong and would prefer not to examine why, indeed, most people, sane or not, perform amazing mental gymnastics to avoid even admitting they were wrong.
