Incredibly disrespectful’: MPs back calls to change racist station nameBy Carolyn WebbDecember 12, 2024 — 7.53pm

State and federal MPs have backed calls for the new Arden train station to be renamed, after The Age revealed its name comes from a racist colonist.
Greens state MP for Melbourne Ellen Sandell, whose electorate includes the station in North Melbourne, said she was shocked to learn of the “grotesque and racist” origins of the name.
Arden station, part of the new Metro Tunnel, was named for George Arden, who co-founded 19th-century newspaper the Port Phillip Gazette and publicly decried Indigenous people as violent, ignorant and promiscuous savages.

They should try that with Blacktown in Sydney. A whole suburb for them to anguish about.

Pity Ms Sandell wasn’t shocked about the grotesque and racist members of her party, including some very prominent members.

Great moments in bad timing (or bad ad placement). I clicked on a YT link with the title “Peta Credlin sits down with Moira Deeming following defamation victory”. Here’s a screenshot of the ad that came up before the feature …

Forgotten who the German politician was, who described the Greens as “Fascism, reborn and thinly disguised.”

Watching Fellowship of the Ring for the umpteenth time. It’s my favorite of the three movies, probably because the changes aren’t as annoying as in numbers 2 and 3.

They were warned the demands would start, and wouldn’t stop – especially for ‘special people’.
No sympathy.

Reading “John Curtin’s War” by John Edwards.

Repeats all the old myths about how the biggest guns at Singapore, could not be rotated to fire to the north…Half of the fifteen inch guns could be, and were turned to fire to the North, the difficulty was a shortage of high explosive ammunition..

An attempt to ship 9.2″ high explosive ammunition, from Australia, was foiled when the “wharfies” demanded danger money to load the ammunition – the officer in charge was reprimanded for drawing his service pistol on a group of said “wharfies.”

And that’s the reason we need a “Royal Shipyard”. No civilians, and train up our own wharfies to use the latest in unloading equipment, our own engineers to do repairs, etc.
Even if it means a brand new shipyard, we can’t afford to let communists decide if they will help or hinder the war effort.

There are still some of the north-facing guns to be visited on Singapore’s northern shore….

JUST IN: Diddy is now facing explosive rape allegations from three MEN, detailed in separate lawsuits.

Each one tells a chilling story. You’ll notice a clear pattern here.

“Lawsuit #1: A man claims he went to a party at Diddy’s home in the Hamptons in 2020. He says he was given a drink and began to fade in and out. After just one drink, Diddy and his associates sodomized him and took turns raping him.”

“Lawsuit #2: A man says he met Diddy in 2019 at a nightclub. He was invited back to Diddy’s hotel, where Diddy gave him a drink. The man says the drink made him sick. Diddy told him to lie down and said to others, ‘He’s ready to party.’ When he woke up, the man said he was lying naked on his stomach. Diddy was sodomizing him, and a man and woman were recording it. The next morning, one of Diddy’s associates gave him $2,500 in cash on behalf of Diddy.”

“Lawsuit #3: A man who worked for Diddy says that in 2020, he went to Diddy’s hotel room for a meeting. Diddy made him a drink, which made him very tired. Diddy told him to take a nap. When he woke up, Diddy was sodomizing him. When he tried to resist, Diddy told him he was ‘almost done.’ Afterwards, Diddy told him that going to the police would make him look like an idiot because he’d never be able to substantiate his claims. He also says Diddy’s entourage called and threatened him to stay quiet.”

Arrived at the country property a while ago-

House still standing. Tick

Caretaker doing OK. Tick

Dogs still alive. OK

4 out of 5 pumps working. Better than usual

Dogs chewed sensor magnet off the gate so gate opener ran the gate off the rack and smashed the motor housing when it fell. Could be better.

Timer for the tree irrigation out of action. Pain in the arse.

6 tree sprinklers blocked. Bigger pain in the arse but expected.

A snake appeared. Seemed to be a Red Throated Keelback. Internet says dangerous, poisonous, somewhat poisonous or only a bit poisonous depending on the author. I assumed it to be similar to a red bellied black so I stuck it in a tree to stop the hound/snake melee. Interesting, it made a change from the usual rat snakes.

Comprehensively blew out a tyre when I drove through some roadworks. A 2 foot piece of half inch rebar went through the tread and out the sidewall and then thrashed around inside the mudguard. Could be worse.

All in all so far so good.

Please support the amazing Siguenza family as they’re dealing with the aftermath of an horrific home invasion on the 11th December. During the invasion, two month old baby Antonia was hit across the head with a metal object which caused a fracture on her skull, and consequently, seizures. She was flown to Adelaide with her mum, Nicole, to receive urgent care at the Women and Children’s Hospital.

Dad, Marlon, remains in Alice Springs to take care of their other four children so cannot work at this time. Christmas plays such a big part to the Siguenza’s and we’re praying they can all be together soon.

GoFundMe was hoping to raise $20,000 – they’ve just topped $30,000.

Mem,

I saw your comment the other day regarding your collection of Japanese prints . I’d be interested in viewing them if you can find a way to post them to the site.

Back about 20 years I was given a calendar with a number of good quality Kawase Hasui print reproductions. Some were quite exquisite and I didn’t want to throw them out after the calendar expired so I had them framed and hung in my living room.

We have yet to understand that Government, along with its organs, is the enemy..
How many times do we have to watch this movie until we work it out?

All on this august blog understand all too well the extent of the “merda profunda” we are swimming in.
The problem is action. There’s little or none of it happening, hence why leftards win, and will continue to.
They get their hands dirty, get elected by lying, and still get re-elected, after more lies. Rinse and repeat, and here we are.
But… but… but… we have clever jokes and memes to change things, no?

Gilas, my dad was a conscript in the early ’50s and was on the front line during the Udine/Trieste border dispute with Yugoslavia. Both the Americans and the Sovs were entangled in the confrontation and had the potential to be go nuclear.

My family member has had a small seizure, back in hospital. Tumours on the move or just needs to get antiseizure meds tweeked? Been 15 months since the last ones, with another round of radiotherapy in October 2023 because that was the cause of the problem then.
Just have to hope.
