It’s got more cosmopolitan, and it’s lost its uniqueness, but Australia is still a great place.

Kim, you can only “spend more” if the central bank is on a monetary expansion footing.

Inflation ultimately has to show through nominal wage increases.

A rise in energy prices can also have a dis-inflationary effect if the impact isn’t felt through wages because it would cause a fall in spending in other areas of the economy.

Lastly, as a well known economist keeps reminding, never make an argument from a price change.

Reaction to Cook’s second voyage once he got home to England:

Made a Fellow of the Royal Society

Awarded the Copley Gold Medal for advances to health at sea

Received by the King

Promoted to Post-Captain in command of HMS Kent

Made Captain of Greenwich Hospital – aged 47, on pension for life

But…

“A few months ago the whole southern hemisphere was hardly big enough for me, and now I am going to be confined within the limits of Greenwich Hospital, which are far too small for an active mind like mine…”

On hearing of Cook’s death:

The surgeon’s mate of HMS Resolution: “In every situation he stood unrivalled and alone: on him all eyes were turned, he was our leading star, which at its setting left us involved in darkness and despair”

You appear to be fixated on the speed of light and Einstein’s theory in relation to the discussion earlier in the week regarding time.

Quantum theory shows changes in one particle can cause an immediate change in another particle instantaneously at great distance. This invalidates the theory that time is subservient to the speed of light.

Go watch a TV show.

Go rut a dog *so amaaazing!*

I got the Novavax so I would be allowed to see my ailing, disabled, brother before he passed away – which he very obligingly did. No vaxxes until compelled by what I am sure you consider an unworthy reason and none since.

I have throughout argued my objections to mandates and my misgivings about the mRNA vaxes (and the one so tardily yet with dubious certainty made available). You cannot seriously think that being able to skirt the vax mandates makes you an expert. All too often it seems the mark of a monomaniac.

I argued against mandates on the basis of what it was doing to us as a society, the unwarranted deification of certain ‘experts’, the risk of blindly trusting risk-averse politicians and their ‘experts’, and multiple other facets of the lockdowns and mandates, and would consider a person who thought I was not qualified because I had had to make a distasteful choice for something even more important to be a Struthian baboon dying on a hill shouting his virtue to people who were not listening.

Any questions?

Squire

What would I know, other than we’ve been told that travel is limited to the speed of light. Experiments have shown to this likely to be true.

However the original argument was that an instant in time isn’t the same from one end of the universe to the other and somehow it became a discussion about the speed of light and time’s subservience.

Quantum suggests though that when there’s linkage between two particles any change in one will, even at great distance, immediately impact another at the same time.

I was with struth…kind of…in that his nuttiness was kind of amusing, and he was dead right on some things….but he went down the whole “Covid doesn’t exist” road and would try to gaslight anyone who didn’t agree with him by telling them the weird ailment with the strange assortment of random symptoms they were experiencing was just the common cold they’d always known and they’d been hoodwinked by the media.

On a more “light” note. Tesla reported earnings last evening that proved disappointing to the market. The firm reported concerns about future sales and income projections. Stock is down just over 8%.

Here’s my theory or hypothesis. If Musk is right about robotics and that homes will begin to have humanoid robots in the next 5 or so years, Telsa will become the most valuable company on earth as it’s at the forefront of robot development. There’s a possibility that the car business could be spun off or sold and Tesla becomes a robot maker. Don’t undersell Musk.

You can only receive something if it wasn’t yours in the first place – this proves the government thinks all our money is theirs.
