https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2022/jan/31/kamala-harris-pipe-bomb-january-6-report
Kamala Harris, then vice-president-elect, drove within yards of a pipe bomb left outside the Democratic National Committee on January 6 2021 and remained inside for nearly two hours before the bomb was found, it was reported on Monday.
Harris’s proximity to the bomb was known previously, but not how close or for how long. CNN reported the new details in the case, part of alarming events in Washington on the day Congress met to certify Joe Biden’s election victory over Donald Trump.
A pipe bomb was also left near the Republican National Committee. More than a year later, no suspect has been named or apprehended.
I wonder if he’d recently had his booster?

Time for a Public Reckoning in the Pell Case
A grave injustice was reversed when the High Court of Australia vindicated Cardinal George Pell and restored him to liberty on April 7, 2020. What the world could not have known then, and what readers of all three volumes of Cardinal Pell’s Prison Journal have now discovered, is that the cardinal put his 404 days of imprisonment, most of them in solitary confinement, to good use. He prayed, not least for victims of clerical sexual abuse. He read, studied, and deepened this thinking about the contemporary situation of the Catholic Church, about his native Australia, about reform in the Vatican, and about a troubled world. He participated in the work of his defence team. And he produced a prison memoir that is a shining testament to the power of faith, hope and charity to see a man through the most difficult of circumstances.
Thanks to these journals, and thanks to the dignity and equanimity with which he has borne himself since his release from prison (not least in an hour-long interview with Australian broadcaster Andrew Bolt), Cardinal George Pell has become a spiritual hero to many. That this is to the consternation and fury of the cardinal’s many enemies is a source of considerable satisfaction to his friends. But not, I think, to George Pell himself. For as these journals have revealed, he is a much bigger man than his persecutors and his rabid critics. He holds no grudges. That they do is to their further shame.
Good for you, Sancho. Be a truck pied-piper, there’s a dear, and get them away from here.
But while we’re on the subject, and in the light of your views upthread which deserve reply, Arky really did get done in here by firstly, believing in his own uptickers, and then by being heavily slaughtered by some later upticking. He was going through a very difficult time and I think there should have been more understanding about that here. I haven’t been in touch with him since he left, but he did contact me personally before that about how much the Cat was affecting his mental health. He did share here so much that was important to him: his Model A, burned out in the fire being just one of Arky’s ways of joining in. Remember too the forays into video journalism, and his Mr. Fit running excursions and his discovery of his writing voice (with a touch of Headmaster hubris re axing comments).
Same as me, though I’ve never wanted to axe people. I’ve shared a lot here, all of it from my true life, and I’ve written some often very informed commentary on many different things over the years. I don’t think I deserve the opprobrium that I collect from a paranoid woman’s crazy utterances about my presence here followed by her sententious seeking of approval by fakely mild-mannered but nevertheless self-aggrandizing commentary re something on the ABC or Watts Up.
You have to have a cast-iron emotional constitution to withstand some ferocious upticking attacks here. I don’t have that, but I still persevere here because I have learned from life’s lessons that you shouldn’t let bastardry, often psychotic or deliberately malicious and even envious, grind you down.
Sometimes though, the game is hardly worth the candle. Sky After Dark may do it better.

Factcheck – TRUE. The biggest risk factor for dying of Covid is already being in the process of dying of something else.
Japanese firm says ivermectin shows ‘antiviral effect’ against Covid-19
The controversial drug ivermectin shows an “antiviral effect” against Covid-19, a Japanese drug company said on Monday.
In September, Australia’s Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) banned doctors from prescribing ivermectin off-label.
General practitioners are now only able to prescribe ivermectin for TGA-approved conditions, such as scabies and certain parasitic infections.
“These changes have been introduced because of concerns with the prescribing of oral ivermectin for the claimed prevention or treatment of Covid-19,” the TGA said at the time.
“Ivermectin is not approved for use in Covid-19 in Australia or in other developed countries, and its use by the general public for Covid-19 is currently strongly discouraged by the National Covid Clinical Evidence Taskforce, the World Health Organisation and the US Food and Drug Administration.”
Ivermectin was first discovered in 1975 and came into medical use in 1981. It was approved for human use in 1988.
In 2015, half of that year’s Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine was awarded jointly to ivermectin’s discoverers, Satoshi ?mura of Kitasato University and William Campbell of Merck.
The medication is sold in both human and animal formulations.
Veterinarians use it to deworm domestic animals and cattle.
For humans, it exists in tablet form and has been widely used in Africa to treat intestinal strongyloidiasis and onchocerciasis – also known as river blindness – which are conditions caused by parasitic worms.
Topical formulations are also used to combat head lice and skin conditions such as rosacea.
When the medication is taken as intended it is low risk – however, when taken in large doses it can cause serious side effects including severe nausea and vomiting, and neurological effects such as dizziness, seizures and coma.
In August last year, the US FDA told Americans to stop taking the drug by referencing the veterinary version.
The FDA said it had seen a rise in reports of patients being hospitalised after self-medicating with ivermectin.
“You are not a horse. You are not a cow. Seriously, y’all. Stop it,” the FDA tweeted.
The question is when will Thugs Goons Adminsitration face Criminal Charges?

In the interests of the blog, I have eschewed publishing the email where Johanna’s outright doxxing of my husband’s surname was manifest on Sinc’s Catallaxyfile. I was prepared to give way on that, as I regarded putting forward my proof even with his name redacted (as I will not publish that) was merely to add fuel to fire that I hoped was burning itself out. A false hope indeed. But let me remind people that this evidence exists and that Johanna has forgotten writing it, just as she has forgotten so many things she said and did in her envious efforts to denigrate and then doxx me some years ago when it really mattered. Paranoid and fixated people tend to have poor memories regarding their outrageous behaviours.
Believe me on this. I’ve dealt with a few in a long lifetime. Trained to recognise them too.

The CHOs have been admitting (in undertones at the end of their rant) the deaths “with Covid”, & not “of Covid” for some time now. Annoyingly, the media buffoons who report back to the Channel, do NOT. And it is the latter that, I suspect, most viewers recall.
The admission that so many deaths are related to existing conditions follows the trend begun overseas. Not that anyone seems to notice.
No verballing.
These are your exact words calli:-
“Slightly less traumatic“.
I stand by what I say.
If the loss of possessions – fully insured as I understand – ranks anywhere near the loss of a loved one, then the priorities are screwed.
(BTW, I don’t think he said that).
I know people who have lost houses in fires. They invariably say, “Well, at least everyone got out. Things can be replaced.”
You have to remember the good times – like when he proudly went out and bought a whole sirloin, cut it up into tasty thick slices, just so.
And his missus murdered it. There was much weeping and gnashing of teeth that day.

Speaking of second jabs and that mystical barrier of 90% at which point we are all apparently immune from covid (cough cough splutter), I have been watching Qld crawl its way to 90% and something curious is happening.
Looking back at the jab statistics, Qld was tracking like most states and was achieving double dose rate increases in the population of around 0.4-0.6% per day. Obviously the rate fell on weekends but that was the typical weekday rate. Right up until about 3 weeks ago when Qld hit around 89% double dosed.
Since then, the daily rate has plummeted to around 0.02-0.1% increase per day. Just yesterday, the overall rate for double vaxxed rose from 89.53% to 89.56% (+0.03%). Looking back to 19/20th January, the rate moved up from 89.00% to 89.07% (+.07%) which was larger than most days but still not particularly significant. These low rates are now commonplace and would suggest that Qld won’t achieve 90% double dosed until late February.
Three weeks ago the media in QLD were all over the fact that Qld was “so close” to 90% and the easing of further restrictions and then……nothing. They have been very quiet about it ever since.
I thought it may be because of holidays but that doesn’t stack up because the rate of 3rd jabs is strong at ~45,000+ per weekday compared to 1st or 2nd jabs at a combined <10,000 per day.
The rate of 2nd (and even 1st) jabs in the 'adult' population (over 15) has collapsed. I suspect the answer is that SE Qld residents have been compliant persons but their country cousins are holding out.
For many months I have noted that all states seem to reach a slowdown barrier at around 91-93% (except Canberra which hardly slowed) where the 1st and consequently 2nd vaccination rate falls away substantially – but Qld seems to have hit that wall earlier that all except perhaps the NT.
This is the fed govt site and lists stats by day:
https://www.health.gov.au/resources/collections/covid-19-vaccination-daily-rollout-update
That’s been said so often, Dr. BG, but it doesn’t hold any water. Everything published here is ‘only pixels’ but we don’t discount it because of that. We test it for veracity. We argue the toss.
It also doesn’t work. These attacks are not a one-off. They are pounces, intended to hurt and emotionally kill. The attacks continue and newbies believe the memes and lies.

And I didn’t accuse you of saying so.

“Slightly less traumatic”.
I paraphrased as:-
“If “damaged house” and “lost hobby stuff” is just losing out in a photo finish with “deceased loved one”
‘Photo finish’.
‘Slightly less than’.
Largely synonomous.
My point is, that if you rate death of a loved one anywhere near the loss of property, it is time for some self-examination.
And, I reiterate, I think Arky said something similar.
That he was grateful for no death or injury.
While I was away he’s obviously been checking up on me on the Cat.

On these numbers generally, mass data generated from the public on a national scale is rough and always ugly. It’s not 90% let alone 90.00343%, they’ll generate reports from the system, then have a confidence band and it’ll be something like: we can say that between 75%-95% of Australians have been dosed at X levels of confidence on each band, because of problems X, Y and Z with the data in this way, and that way and muslim pharmacists in Sydney can’t use a computer properly so we know 0.1% is corrupt there, and we gave the wrong details to pharmacists in this period so we don’t know about that 0.08% of the data there, and QLDers messed up the data between these periods which is 0.03%, etc, etc.
And naturally being Amway salesmen the government will use the very best figures they can get away with.

Sadly we will see more and more vaccine regret videos like this one*… I salute those that are brave enough to speak out, they save lives when they do.

Not to worry; once they get sovereignty they can build a proper one in Yarralumla.
Panzer’s First Law of Upticks.
The number of upticks applied to a person’s comments is directly correlated with the amount of squawking about said upticks by that person’s blog nemesis.
Or, put more simply, “Whingeing worsens the upticking”.
And don’t question me on this.
I majored in Upticking at Harvard.
lol.
I don’t notice the ticks unless I haven’t been around for a day when I’m scrolling and you see a post with 20-30 ticks.
Complaining about someone’s post with a lot of ticks is bizarre.
If a dude did it, you’d be quite entitled to call them gay.

Rumble — James O’Keefe is an investigative journalist and the Founder of Project Veritas.
Faith in mainstream media is at an all-time low. At a time when we need better quality information, pretty much everything seems like it’s been made with spin in mind. Creating an alternative type of journalism is filled with legal, ethical, organisational and personal dilemmas and today James explains some of the biggest ones he faces.
Expect to learn what it feels like to have Anthony Fauci call you out by name during a hearing, why James O’Keefe was raided by the FBI at 6am, James O’Keefe’s response to criticisms about undercover reporting, how Project Veritas deals with the ethics of releasing undercover documents, whether James O’Keefe sees himself as impartial, how many times he’s been sued and much more…
Panzer, did you sit at the High Table at Harvard?
We need to know.
Yeah, not bad thanks. Physically I think things are about where they will end up – which probably means a walker and electric wheelchair going forward.
Cognitively I have got off much better and can still enjoy my reading and the Internet.
Not really quite how I saw my early “retirement” years but things don’t always go to plan.
Wow, JC — $750 p.m. for Telstra “service”.
Go after the phuckers for every freebie they have on the books, including free Foxtel ( which, from memory, they half-own).
My only contact with Telstra re my account in the past two years tells me:
a) They still consider themselves public servants working for the PMG.
b) They consider customers a nuisance, particularly around lunch time.
Thanks Bourne1879 for fucking up my theory.
Panzer’s Second Law of Upticking.
Some people just tick comments they like, without any complex analysis of who else might give a shit.
Were the pork sausages thin skinned?
Up the top of my street years ago was the local naughty girls home long since shut down. A friend of my BiL got the contract to demolish it. When he got to the main hall he recognised the flooring. very thick NZ Kauri. Rang several boatbuilders, one of which paid a motza for it and removed it carefully himself. The rest of the buildings were all Oregon throughout.
Big day for a coupla the grandees today, one grandson started High School and a grandaughter’s 1st day of school …… all up 6 in school .. two left to go .. LOL!
Too right I did.
The highest of High Tables.
There was no Higher Table than my High Table.
And I sat at the head of that High Table.
In a carver chair donated by John Harvard himself.
I must say though, looking at the upholstery, John or one of his successors must have had some very ordinary eating habits.
The whole subscription pricing model is quite insidious.
I have Spotify, although I use it everyday. I continue to refuse to pay for TV, although that is becoming harder. I would have thought that industry would have consolidated by now, although if anything it seems to be becoming more fragmented.
I kid you not.
There was chewing gum stuck under the arms of the John Harvard chair.
This tells me it was probably occupied by a Kennedy at some stage.
Sad you couldn’t make it to your CO’s sendoff Kev.
Junior officers have a hard time as it is, and to be consigned to the dirt absent their guys is unfair.
The plague of karens have much to answer for.
One of my ancestors with extremely poor taste tried to convert a large room in Panzer Hall into some sort of medieval dining hall with exposed beams.
Someone has painted them later on, but there is no hiding them.
100 x 100 and 150 x 50 beams everywhere. Rough sawn and looks like oregon by the grain.
Definitely for salvage when they inevitably go.
And they will.

And they will.
Very, very maverick of you.
I used to like Maverick. James Garner from memory.
And Gunsmoke. And Bonanza.
Now they’d all be woke. Hate to think who’d play Hoss Cartright.

This is what becomes of letting people do what they want in a public space, eg: squatting. It is now there forever and it can be as big, and as lawbreaking as it likes.
As the residents of San Franshitsco and Los Angeles are learning, on a much worse scale.

The language annoys me. These people always start out suggesting they are merely a ‘niche’ provider. Then, they want to cut a ‘swathe’. When it all turns to muck they lament that they were only looking to provide a ‘niche’ service and had been bullied.
They weren’t painted Mission Brown by any chance? As a kid my job was to re-do the gate every few years. Sadly, now gone to God as the block was subdivided.
FWIW, I left several months back after Arky censored my post. I only returned when Dover reached out.
I have let people know on a number of occasions that I do not give upticks to people that I know have been jabbed.
I understand that shortly this might become site policy.
This means anyone on the site known to be a Vaxxer will have the facility to receive upticks removed.
Harsh but fair.

Oh, no.
I won’t be actually doing it myself.
I’ll hire an actual maverick who specialises in such things.

I used to like Maverick. James Garner from memory.
When the film Maverick was made a few years ago, with Mel Gibson playing the role, James Garner appeared as the boss of the riverboat gambling scene. A nice gesture to the past.
Before my time.
But I would put money on it.
I checked out my local Vietnamese restaurant, where I have my Thursday lunch, to enquire about their takeaway, because I didn’t want to cause them trouble with the vaccine order.
Little vietchick knew nothing about it.
Rosie O’Donnell.
I thought James Garner was gay.
I thought James Garner was gay.
No, but he slept with a guy who was.

Possibly the biggest lie ever told in the history of blogging.
Arky ate the tyre iron and has patented the charred steak process as a replacement for titanium. I miss Arky, hope he gets his shit together and comes back.
That’s Arky is it? Thought Leader? I didn’t closely follow all the hullabaloo there at the time as I was -ahem – in absentia. Arky was off his tree at that time. Doxxing is a sin, we all know that. Except the one who doesn’t remember her big doxx. Hairy’s name up in lights on the Cat and an invitation for him to come to Queanbeyan!
Arky’s no Messiah. He’s a qualified fitter and turner who turned high school mathematics teacher. There’s a back story there about a hard row to hoe. He was trying out new futures, a new career path yet again. I did that a lot in me unguided yoof and some of us can even drop an ‘m’ and commiserate.
Coming up from nowhere and finding your feet can turn you maverick. That’s all I meant. I get so sick of the entitled middle-classness of this place sometimes, the oh-Sweet-Jesus fainters. All of whom went through school and uni without a hitch and fell into good futures thanks to mum and dad being so terrific. The school of hard knocks is a thumping bloody awful place.
Shaterzzz has done some hard yards, whatever his own demons and reasons, and it’s not everyone here who lacks understanding of them. Some do though.
Bicurious.
More tears from Jesus.
He’s practically sobbing now.
Moi aussi…down to the local Coles (where they completely ignore the sign in requirements, and so do I). Light on for flour, sugar, eggs, and coffee. Produce and bread all ok though.
I hope so too.

Here:
Mobile $262.20
Telephone, which I think also includes the internet for two homes $330.65
Foxtel $139.00
Plus some shitty charge of 14.90
Total $747.00
I can’t get rid of Foxtel without getting rid of Free to Air.
I’m not very good with cutting costs and leave the bill paying to wifey. I’m interested in just making money. Cutting costs is boring. 🙂
Who knows, but she has the forehead proportions for that hat.
Jesus wept. For all the pain and sin of the world.
He actually did. I don’t take that unseriously.
Read Larkin’s poem on ‘Church Going’.
Even agnostics like me know there’s something unreachable we yearn for.
Firstly, you have no idea of the background or family circumstances of most here.
Secondly, get down off the cross. We need the wood. I think it’s 8 x 4 oregon.
Being born James Scott Bumgarner may have had something to do with that belief?
Technically he did that because a friend of his had died, and then he had to demonstrate who he was to a bunch of total thickos. Which would irritate anyone.
Bruce, Mary and Martha knew.

He was pretending to own the entire site by trying to direct traffic on the open thread. When the Thought Leadership was told to go fuck himself as he had zero ownership, he went ballistic. He tried this bullshit twice with me. Fool me once, but not twice. He’s a cockhead with issues. I never posted a comment on his stupid self absorbed threads, but I observed his behavior and the way he treated commenters. It was a total late term abortion.
Anyways, enuff as I don’t want any reminding of him.

Congratulating a participant for not participating.
This place has some weird personal dynamics.
Yep.. one of the reasons I limit commenting to the bare minimum.
Some people here seem to spend most of each day commenting or attacking each other.
Endless back-and-forth, finessing the Art of the consequence-free Insult.
Good for them.. whatever floats their boat etc..
But it makes for tedious scrolling and detracts from the otherwise incredibly interesting and amusing content, unfortunately becoming rarer these days.
You call THAT a router?! 2 Tiny Raspberry Pi Routers
Gilas
And I mean this with a certain amount of respect. You’re a decent commenter with well thought out views and opinions, but it seems to me that you would like others to entertain you with good views and opinions. Speaking for myself, I’m not your entertainment director. How about you introduce topics as I’m sure you’ll have others returning comments.
On the topic of good thoughts and opinions, here’s a start.
President Brandon is a demented, corrupt lying piece of shit and his family are scum.
Breaking news: Maximus was speaking directly to Gilas in the movie Gladiator.
Yep the Cat is a bit like a Crown buffet. You can fill your plate with prawns but you’ve got to do your own deheading.
Bear
I don’t get that. Explain.
Are you not entertained?

In other news, there was a single, three state wide lightning bolt hit the US yesterday. A record. There might be a message in that.
Some tasty morsels there but you have to do some work to get them.
Oh Crown as in Crown Casino and the buffet there. Okay. Got it now.. all by my lonesome.
Next time, try this one, Bear.
You gotta kill your own if you want to eat.
We have an internet package with our Foxtel. Don’t know what we pay.
Hairy and I both have separate mobile accounts. Don’t know what we pay.
We stream with Netflix and may pay for other things. Don’t know what we pay.
We get Quadrant, IPA x 2, The Australian, The Spectator. Don’t know what we pay.
But I do know how much the different cabins cost on the Golden Horizon Cruise Yacht.
Hairy just called me in to discuss our 2023 preferences with the sales people on the phone.
It’s a lot more than on Regent or Viking that is for sure. You pay for sails. And a tiny balcony.
We are at the spending stage of our lives. I think we’ve earned it.
Still quite partial to a buffet. As a kid the greatest treat was the original Miss Mauds on Murray St.
Although, as it turns out, the Wuhan virus that “escaped from the lab,”was not the Chimera that many of us (including me) feared might wipe out millions of healthy people, it was still a “gain-of-function” experimental virus.
We should not lose sight of that scenario as we regain (hopefully) some sanity in understanding that the most recent variant, Omicron, may herald its fading strength. In respect to that issue, a discussion between evolutionary biologist Bret Weinstein and Chris Martensen (who was a molecular biologist before he became an entrepreneur) is worth watching:
I’ll never forget a story I once read. It was in the NY Post and about something that happened in the US. Where else, as it’s these types of stories that made the country great.
There was an open buffet at a Chinese restaurant in Florida. The buffet was serving up what the Americans call Alaskan snow crab legs. This 250 lb fucker and his fat kid kept going up and loading with Alaskan crab legs. They were told they couldn’t have anymore and a ruckus broke out. The fat fucker sued and he won! If they advertise all you can eat, then you can’t limit custom demand.
Never mind, Gilas. I will do some travel blogging here again sometime.
Cruising under sail won’t be till 2023 but in October this year we will be in the US for the elections, and I will report back on the tenor of the times. And the contraltos and sopranos too. 😀
Not sure how any of us would go with that one. Have seen a variety of stuff killed and field dressed. When given my own chicken on Year 9 camp I had an egg and baked beans. I like dal – and a steak when I’m not doing the butchering. Don’t normally bother with the prawns either.
Lizzie! A friendly piece of advice – don’t spend it all! Winter is coming ………& a good store of nuts will be necessary. We are now only spending on assets which will not lose value – or, even if they do – are still very “desirable” in any market. No plan is perfect – particularly if a bankrupt government brings in wealth taxes of various types.

Try to ease back on the level of flattery.
I eat other people’s cows & chooks.
Covid has at least meant that on the large cruise ships you no longer get the ferals and fatties doing grab-a-plate and run to swoop up all the prawns and oysters at the buffet as they used to previously. It’s all individual serve by people behind glass screens now. Far more civilised. Covid has had its uses.
Sea cockroaches, full of cholesterol.
You forgot to mention sex offender.
If, by “gets his shit together” you mean “coming back here and not behaving like a Blog Captain who is some sort of amalgam of Magda Szubanski in ‘The Weakest Link’ and Andrew O’Keefe after a night on the piss”, then I would agree.
If it is more of the same, no thanks.
Unsurprisingly, you miss the break in logic implicit here.

Growing your own fruit not so hard (after the initial establishing)

Never had any problem with Arky & always found him to be a valuable critical thinker.
Then again, I never entered into debate or comment on his ideas.
