What to do about wokeness?

The conservative vagabond poses the question.

Is there a coherent strategy for all the different groups that are under attack?

Can we work together or are our disagreements too large to overlook?

What do we need to do differently to be more effective?

Who are the most interesting/challenging/helpful/original thinkers in this space?

This discussion might be a bit of a mish-mash unless we get some definitions straight.
Whatever the original meaning was, am I right in positioning “woke” as a corporate posture where a business or government is aligning itself (and coercing its constituents) with the grievances of a victim class in order to further their market penetration, ie QANTAS going gay marriage, Annheiser-Busch going transvestitism, Labor going Voice, Gilette going misandry?

Hate to sound Black-pill, but the collective West is lost. I’m just praying that God will change more hearts and minds before the mushroom clouds.

One attempt at a definition was:

The Russian Revolution demonstrates how the Bolsheviks – a dedicated minority of the population, although the majority faction of the Russian Social Democratic Party – can tyrannise and subdue a much larger populace.
So Wokeism – cultural Marxism allied with cultural theory – which was a minority academic theory 30 years ago, has spread to infect almost all of our Western institutions. Wokeshevism is the most politically virulent form of the disease.

collectivists are now so barking mad insane that they can no longer be reasoned with, much less tolerated.

They will find fault with everything and anything, no matter how seemingly benign and trivial.

Our beloved maoist yoof are out of control. Can anyone here imagine any kind of functioning society those imbeciles might have built from scratch?

No, because they are incapable of doing anything even remotely useful (in this life or their next).

This is when civilizations collapse under the almost unimaginable weight of their insurmountable idiocies.

The original meaning of woke was to be aware of social injustice and discrimination. What wokeness means is beyond me. You’re right, a working definition is required.

If the Woke are Procrustes, they should fought by Theseus. Theseus gave his opponents a dose of their own medicine. Procrustes was made to lie in his own bed.

Saul Alinsky’s Rules for Radicals #4: “Make the enemy live up to its own book of rules.”

The Woke are vulnerable to this.

This guy is not actually trans but is doing this to aggravate the too Woke school board.

a working definition is required.

Indeed John but only useful if it’s drafted in a none partisan way.

I see wokeness as generally any action or rule that coerces business away from its core functions.

Ok we’re getting somewhere
So, regardless of shadenfreude we can feel when corporate hari-kiri kicks in, the real hazard of wokeness is when a government invokes injustice to leapfrog over their constitutions. This has happened with Treaty, there’s a lot of “climate change hurts the darkies worst” in shutting down power stations, there’s the hand of Woke in DPP descisions to prosecute v ery weak assault cases against Craig MacLaughlin and Bruce Lehrmann.

It is a tiny minority fighting the woke, we have bugger all chance of anything more than being an irritant. The media and the political parties are all woke and heading further that way.

Like Climate Change Alarmism, this is going to spiral into the ground on its own sometime, but can’t be reversed or thwarted. In fact, Climate Change Alarmism is the physical part of the new world order/religion and the societal part is the wokeness. Science is populated now with so many ordinary and mundane people, it is not the realm of great minds any more.

Western society is pretty much doomed, and I hope the survivers work it out. If the USA falls, and that’s a possibility given their overstretch and greed to plunder Russia and China, then we’ll go with them as will Europe.

The non-Western world is already beginning to see their opportunities and making moves, like BRICS, to survive the fall

The recent book Wokeshevism collects several articles from the Western Australian Jurist Volume 12.
I’m sure the authors won’t mind me reproducing from page 18 in the introductory chapter the first definition of the topic of the book.

A new, more extreme brand of leftist thought has caught fire, consuming the old brand of left-liberalism. In an article for the Tablet Magazine, Bari Weiss observes:

No one has yet decided on the name for the force that has come to unseat liberalism. Some say it’s ‘Social Justice’. The author Rod Dreher has called it ‘therapeutic totalitarianism’. The writer Wesley Yang refers to it as ‘the successor ideology’ – as in, the successor to liberalism.
At some point, it will have a formal name, one that properly describes its mixture of postmodernism, postcolonialism, identity politics, neo-Marxism, critical race theory, intersectionality, and the therapeutic mentality.

We call it ‘Wokeshevism’.

Later on page 24:

The tyrant left has had other iterations, such as Bolshevism and Maoism. Wokeshevism is but the latest one.

All you can do is prepare for the fall and just hope you and your family can survive it.
Because there’s no guarantee we will.

I have a shearer friend who refers to the woke as “The Offenderati”. A wonderfully descriptive term that alludes to the feigned emotional high drama and operatic performance, that comes with the territory.

On another note I have often had this thought: A child learning to speak picks up a few bad words, repeats them, gets a reaction and if allowed to continue escalates, because they’ve got your attention. So it is with the woke. They now think they can do and say anything that breaks the social mores to gain attention. This is fodder for the left and so the left cultivate this process, creating a new radicalized group that these days can be activated with a single tweet. Perhaps we should just call them twits ie Useful Idiots.

“One of the handy effects of wokeism is that it conveniently ignores class as a form of privilege. So if you went to a fee-paying school, but then identify as ‘queer’ or an ‘ally’, you can then behave as if you had a tougher start than, say, JK Rowling.” quote from https://www.spiked-online.com/2023/04/14/the-entitlement-and-ignorance-of-daniel-radcliffe/
