There was already a fully developed plan to exit Afghanistan before Joe came along, developed by the first guy who committed to leaving (rather than talking about leaving). There was strategy about it to – like choosing the time of year when it was cooler and there was less daylight so the Taliban was less likely to do anything. And I would expect any equipment left behind would have been nobbled so the Taliban could not use it.
But that was Trump’s plan. Better a disaster than follow anything from him.
Now that the Chinese have befriended the Taliban I wonder how much American technology they have their hands on.
