Two related stories about the phenomenal incompetence of the Andrews Government. First this: Victorian living standards fall for two consecutive years.
Victorians’ living standards have fallen for two consecutive years, suffering the hardest hit in the country through the coronavirus recession, with signs it could take another year to get back to their pre-COVID levels.
From the Most Liveable City in the World to a derelict Melbourne has been transmogrified under the direction of the World’s Most Incompetent Political Leader. But he does need someone to blame, so we have this as well: Daniel Andrews blast of Scott Morrison ‘spells doom’ for national cabinet. Here’s the issue.
Mr Andrews accused Mr Morrison on Friday of “double speak” for condemning violent protests in Victoria but also saying he understood people were frustrated by governments “telling people what to do”.
Mr Morrison also criticised mandatory vaccination policies of state governments.
So this is Andrews’ reply. No content, but lots of invective.
“You have got to call it out when you see this sort of appalling behaviour,” Mr Andrews said. “I’m committed to doing what has to be done and not chasing, through double speak, the votes of extremists or their preferences. If others choose to do that then that is on them.”
When asked what his relationship was like with Mr Morrison, Mr Andrews said it would “be a lot better when he stops double speaking to extremists”.
And in rebuttal.
“(People who) want to come together again and want their lives back and they want governments to stop telling them what to do – and have government step back and them step forward into their own future. That’s the cause I have sympathy with,” [Scott Morrison] said.
The peeling of Daniel Andrews fingers off the throat of the economy will be a very slow and painful process, but it has to be done. And this does seem to be right on the money:
“It wouldn’t surprise me one iota if this was all simply a co-ordinated federal Labor Party tactic,” Senator Birmingham said. “Let’s line the premiers up, we’ll go out and try to create another phony fight, to do a bit of a pile-on against Scott Morrison.”
Unfortunately, Scott Morrison wishes to do the right thing but finds himself dealing with a bunch of self-serving socialist nonentities. As for “double-speak”, an example would be useful to understand what Andrews meant.
I also thought I might tack this on at the end: Scientists mystified, wary, as Africa avoids COVID disaster.
When the coronavirus first emerged last year, health officials feared the pandemic would sweep across Africa, killing millions. Although it’s still unclear what COVID-19’s ultimate toll will be, that catastrophic scenario has yet to materialize in Zimbabwe or much of the continent….
There is something “mysterious” going on in Africa that is puzzling scientists, said Wafaa El-Sadr, chair of global health at Columbia University. “Africa doesn’t have the vaccines and the resources to fight COVID-19 that they have in Europe and the U.S., but somehow they seem to be doing better,” she said.
They also don’t seem to have Daniel Andrews and they do seem to have Ivermectin which might help explain things.

What? Experts mystified?
Dictator Dan is an expert when it comes to “double-speak.”
That’s the left for you. Lower than shark shit. And that’s both dictator maotse Dan and Slomo.
Maybe that’s unkind. After all, slomo has them wisdom of all three of the stooges. Dantsetung is just a regrettable excuse for a human being.
I’m surprised that no one has done the Hitler dubbing video of Dan going berserk because he hasn’t been able to get his omnipotent powers bill through.
Give it a little time.
I think Africa’s use of hydroxichloroquine for malaria treatment probably has a lot to do with it too.
So reportage of the old civil rights tweet which Mater unearthed?
Well, of course not. The Lizard People have got plenty of fresh petty morsels to feed down the line. Whoever might be seen to have won the upper hand on any particular day is an incidentality.
“I think Africa’s use of hydroxichloroquine for malaria treatment…”
And Ivermectin for river blindness and elephantitis – both caused by parasites.
Unfortunately, Scott Morrison bankrolled socialist Dan’s lockdowns and didn’t utter a word in protest when he unleashed Vikpol on the citizenry. Both decisions no doubt prompted by his own political calculations.
We are governed by self-serving nonentities at every level.
Birmo is right to say that the Labor Premiers strings are being animated by Federal Labor.
It’s a despicable tactic and Scotty has handled it well.
Agree, it is like the 2007 election. Remember the Council of Australian Federation? Basically COAG without the prime minister, with a big policy research budget with Qld funding it. Once elected Rudd put an end to that quick smart of course. Except that Garnault climate paper.
Anyway, re Africa and Covid cases. I wonder if it is like China, a lack of notifications mean it isn’t happening?
I suspect Africa is good evidence for the prophylactic use of Ivermectin:
But don’t anybody bother telling the FDA or the TGA.
