Black is White, Freedom is Slavery, 2+2=5

Newspeak rules in reportage of climate and energy issues in the mainstream media.

In 1984 George Orwell introduced the concept of a new way of speaking to consolidate the grip of totalitarian regimes by thought control as well as brute force and intimidation. He spelled out the design and purpose of ‘newspeak’ in an appendix to the novel which incidentally revealed that the date for the consolidation of the New Order was not 1984 (the inversion of the publication date in 1948).

It was expected that Newspeak would have finally superseded Oldspeak (or Standard English, as we should call it) by about the year 2050.

So the transition, the Great Reset if you like, is still running on time and we were not home free when we got through 1984.

The idea was to cripple and cramp the thought processes of people in some simple ways for example limiting the vocabulary so dangerous words such as honour, justice, morality, internationalism, democracy, science, and religion simply ceased to exist. More sophisticated methods involved the structure of sentences and the mode of expression to limit communication to basic processes with minimal scope for imaginative or critical thought about abstract concepts.

Turning to the language of climate and energy policy in the press.

Decarbonization. This is a primary goal, it is Very Good, or even “doubleplusgood”. Getting rid of carbon is a very strange objective, given that all living things including human beings are based on complex molecules built around chains of carbon atoms. What is so desirable about getting rid of the atom that is the basis of life on earth? What is the chain of thought that ends up with the concept of decarbonization as a target for energy policy.

Carbon pollution. What is this carbon pollution that we read about? Not the deposit of soot that used to be a hazard of living next to railway lines in the age of steam. No, it is the trace gas that is essential for plant life (and life on earth) that is present in short supply, far short of the amount required for optimum plant growth, in fact it was dangerously low during the Little Ice Age.

Clean energy. This is energy that does not produce CO2 and various other undesirables. Some of these are genuinely undesirable and they are scrubbed out of modern machinery. So wind and solar power are “clean” because they do not generate plant food. However when you examine the trail of  human and environmental disaster from mining and transport, through manufacturing, construction and installation to decommissioning and disposal of the toxic wastes you find that they are very far from clean and green. The myth of “clean RE” is one of the biggest lies of our time. Just check out the story told by Bill Stinson in the paper attached to this briefing note.

There are more examples to talk about another day, like Sustainability (using wind and solar power) and RERT the Reliability and Emergency Reserve Trader scheme that is used to keep rolling blackouts out of sight by taking power from big-using Peters so that the mass of Pauls will not realise when we are verging on serious blackouts,

Orwell on Newspeak.

First, they steal your language, .

Then your property.

Then your liberty; (What little remains of it).

Finally, for “the best of reasons”, they plan to take your life..

There is probably a fancy “scientific” term for those indulging in these sorts of behaviours.

2+2=5…but what is the gender?

I have come to the conclusion that blackouts and high electricity costs are the only reasons that the general public will start to query the obsession with unreliables.
I had a conversation recently where I mentioned the fact that load shedding under the guise of demand management was already occurring in Oz. They would not believe me. Further to this is that they did not believe me when I said some companies were paid lots of $$$ to shut down when there was a shortage of power available.
My personal belief is that the bureaucracy believes it is much more palatable to the public that a few large companies have to shut down rather than blackouts for thousands of homes.
It might be more palatable but the fact remains that we don’t have enough power to cover demand 24/7 when/if there is an unexpected failure at the remaining power plants.

How about “Reproductive Care”.

Reproductive health care, including access to birth control and safe and legal abortion care, is an essential part of your health and well-being.

Decarbonise = deconstruct, or disintegrate.
Western civilisation is being deconstructed or disintegrated by means of attacks on all the foundations.
Wrecking the energy system using climate as the raison d’etre has proven to be effective. Economies collapse, food supplies become scarce, emergency powers (trialled during covid scare/scam) then become the great reset.
Diversity, Equity and Inclusion leads to the new Feudalism.

Hmmm. Do not become hysterical BS-Artists, falling for the left’s propaganda. Especially not for the tale that most folk buy the narrative….

Here in tropical NQ a new petrol station is nearing completion (with a KFC attached) in my little town of about 10,000 people. This is the second brand new one in about two years…to go with the other two in town, and with the other 4 on the outskirts.

Down the highway there’s another which was built in 2020. Fiurther down in the next town 3 more new ones. Off the Highway at Cannonvale/Airlie another two new ones.

Out at the coal mines they are crying out for workers ($149-$200K pa) as they all expand.. The airport at Proserpine is jammed with record visitor arrivals. who are headed to Airlie etc to jump all manner of power boats, airplanes and helicopters to burn fossil fuels baby.

THEN i read that a handful of attention seekers reckon fossil-fuels are hated. This does not compute.

BTW: take a stroll before dawn, in any oz town or city and estimate how many cars there are per household. Three? Four? Almost entirely petrol or diesel, Does this indicate belief in the Green BS?

Rafe / wal1957,
I spoke to a graduating RMIT eco/finance student. Even he could see that Andrews’ plan to set up a government “owned” energy company is re-nationalisation. The rider is: “Labor’s plan to keep the lights on – and bills down.” Lights on = off. Bills down = up. (It is in Mises’ words polylogism.)
The motivation for a public bureacracy is some form of extra-rational value, which makes sense (they do not care, for instance, about careful, rational economic analysis). There is an inherent apriori which no smoke and mirrors can make disappear: producers and consumers are driven by self-interest – the profit motive. But government, also driven by self-interest, has as it motive in a worse case scenario, re-election. Therefore, just like federal Labor and the NBN, this will be another inefficient and uneconomic project.
But it is consistent with their social policy, to satisfy the economically ignorant, by selling them a mess of pottage in exchange for their vote. And of course it is a continuation of their vision of the centralisation of the state and worship of the Moloch state.
P.S. Why don’t they just spend a couple of billion now, throw the off switch, have done with it, and issue everyone candles.

Unbelievable – the idiotic student union is running the country.
This is what happens when they become govt dept heads, laws changed to suit their agenda.
The laws now are bringing public service attitudes and days off which will mean you need extra labour to pay for the 12 weeks people are entitled to take off each year.
The sola/wind thing – the lefties line, “nuclear is the most expensive, fossil are inefficient, renewables are the cheapest”.
This is like that coke add from the 70s everyone getting on with eachother, except the people who wrote that hung around, married had sex with their own skin colour, same ancestory and thought it was Coll to take on socialism without knowing what it actually meant.
