Hmmm, sneaky daylight savings has the new OT starting early…
Hello in there…
Good morning, Bushkid. It’s been a long day.
‘Lo peeps. I hope everyone is as healthy & happy as circumstances permit.
The Fourth Musketeer?
As I was saying before I was rudely interrupted by the new thread:
Well, most of what it could have sent is in scraps scattered over the battlefields of eastern Ukraine.
VDH isn’t always very sound on this kind of thing. In 1973, Israel was fighting nation-state opponents equipped with Soviet hardware in conventional, high intensity warfare. The Soviets undertook a similar resupply to the Egyptians and Syrians to make up for their battlefield losses, too.
Today is not 1973. Israel already has more than enough hardware to deal with Hamas – in this regard it’s an entirely lopsided conflict. The difficulty is going to be in urban conflict and engaging an enemy that makes itself indistinguishable from civilians and is perfectly happy for 20 of its soldiers to die in the process of killing one Israeli soldier.
Today is not 2006, either. I suspect Israeli public today is less concerned about world opinion than it was then, and there will be an expectation that this is the conflict that will settle the dispute definitively. My guess is there’s going to be a two state imposition at the end of this road.
I missed the show but top story at Daily Mail is about ch 7 Spotlight show with Aboriginal Ray Martin and three Senators.
As I thought he would be he was bad for the Yes case. Jacinta and host got him good.
Seems 72% of voting viewers voting no.
And now wasting another First XI spot on some mindless gasbagging:
Does this Hamas vs Israel mini-war jeopardise the Abraham Accords in any way?
In a word, No. Although the AAs were trumpeted as a brilliant foreign policy achievement of the Orange Man Administration, they only involved deals between Israel, UAE, and Bahrain. There were no peace deals between any pair of actually-belligerent parties.
Britannica Encyclopaedia even says:
Today the possibility that the Abraham Accords would inspire more countries to join seems further away than ever.
Dad watched the Ch 7 discussion panel of Aboriginals. He reports Jacinta Price spoke & performed brilliantly, she slayed ’em.
Lidia Thorpe was across her case & prosecuted it well (it really pained him to say that)
Senator McCarthy was utterly hopeless, repeating the same lines regardless, like one of those dolls where you pull the string in its back & it speaks.
Ray “Aborigine” Martin was a train wreck with his attempt to walk back the “Dickheads & Dinosaurs” comment, reckoned Ray “Aborigine” would have been better off shutting up & not digging any deeper.
Well, I’ve been lurking on and off from the sidelines today… we have many friends in Galilee so I’ve been refreshing X every five seconds to see if Hezbollah have initiated any real steps from the North…
…another restless evening/night/days/weeks coming up for Israel I fear…

But notice it’s not the wealthy Arabs going all jihadi but rather those with bleak prospects?
The reason why they have bleak prospects (economically) is because they have built a life based on killing Jews.
Even the Saudi’s are sick of this shit.
It’s bad for their current/future business of buying assets in western nations to produce income when the oil is not needed in current volumes.
As Tom said, Leak is brilliant. Straight to the point.

My God, Leak skewers it.
In 1983, Iran used a proxy to blow up a marine barracks in Beirut.
In 2023, Iran used a proxy to murder civilians at a music festival.
The sooner Israel demonstrates it’s happy to target key people & assets in Iran the more the rest of the middle east will support it.
And if it doesn’t do it now, when will it do it?
I see the down ticker is up early. A fairly innocuous comment about Leak and his cartoon and I score a downtick!

Hi Wodney!
Hamas use a hoe to behead a Thai migrant worker.
Again, twitter & TikTok have something up the corporate media wouldn’t dare show.
Hamas are the ones videoing this stuff & uploading it.
They really are sub-human.
Um
My sources indicate even the indigenous in Walgett aren’t overwhelmingly supportive of Da Voice.
Dot, what do you reckon the no-show % will be.
Over 700 Israelis murdered.
260 of those were at the music festival, Cassie.

Fear.
Fear motivates.
A military victory (the reapplication of security) is the primary goal.
Politics come later.
Placating those who have no intention of accepting anything less than your submission, is a task for future diplomacy.
The rest of us can only watch and note the enablers.
Further to Voice polling, I caught some of Fatty Murray’s programme last night, and he was dissecting Voice polling. Apparently, polling in migrant communities shows support for da Voice to be lowest among the Chinese community. What a surprise….NO, it isn’t a surprise. I think the you’d see the same among the Vietnamese.
It confirms my thoughts that the people who’ll save this country from this iniquitous voice will be rural Australians, working class Australians, elderly Australians, and new Australians. It won’t be effluent Teal voting scum in electorates like Wentworth.
The Liars are obviously not totally useless. The Wong and Albanese clowns had those reverse gears fitted quick time.
Did Wong actually review the situation in Israel before parroting the lefty nonsense handed to her by her political science graduate staff or the antisemitic Foreign Affairs communusts.
Unbelievanly stupid, ideologically driven campus clowns.
What are the chances this virus selectively destroys some of its own infrastructure (school/hospital), with or without occupants, & claim the same as inflicted by Israel?
Relative to population size, imagine that figure in the US.
Geez what a curve ball. “When do you expect peace in the Middle East?” might be easier to answer.
The no show vote will cruel the NO vote.
I expect it to be higher than in 1999 but I hope and expect it won’t be very high.
It could be large though as people being pissed off are likely to not vote, against their own interests.
I’ll say three per cent.
It could be much higher. I think the early voting indicates people are willing to vote no instead of just getting angry and not turn up.
If you want me to guess the turnout in Walgett, you can tell me how many people will be hungover and non functioning on Saturday in Walgett.
I read that yesterday.
They had a link to their campaign summaries and “fact checking” piece.
Entitled “You (sic) Voice referendum cheat sheet”.
Cheat sheet indeed.
I think the no vote data by seat will be a key indicator of the Retarded Liberals ability to be competitive at the next federal election.
As will the no-show vote.
If something like the Voice doesn’t get you off the couch to vote (either way), it shows just how disconnected you are.
“260 of those were at the music festival, Cassie.
Pure animals.”
Young people, I’m trying to show and feel “restraint” Bern. And their bodies mutilated, and on parade in Gaza, that’s what Israel has to deal with.
Last a sneerer appeared here on the old fred, and this sneerer argued that since I cared so much I should fly to Israel. Given I’m in my late fifties (reasonably fit), my services would be rather pointless when it comes to fighting, but what is interesting is that when stuff like this happens, people’s responses really do separate the wheat from the chaff.
The sneerer went on to write that “Borders constantly change throughout time.”. This isn’t some border conflict or skirmish, it’s a conflict about existence. Hamas and most Palestinians are quite clear about the fact that they do not want Israel to exist and they do not want Jews living in any part of “Palestine”. When they parrot from “the river to the sea”, they mean it. It is a call to genocide.
As I write, the corpses of Jewish men, women and children, hundreds of them, are lying in body bags or being paraded in the streets of Gaza.
Rowan Dean, in his editorial yesterday, brutally and bluntly said it best. I would urge everyone to watch it.
The people pushing it and popping in front of the news are overwhelmingly well-heeled and white. Oh, I know there are people out there who insist on calling themselves Aboriginal because a great great grand-parent (going back near a century now, too) was Aboriginal but I wonder how many Aborigines really take those claims seriously: Someone raking in high six-figures constantly on TV and in magazines and whatnot saying that a single great great grandparent entitles them to speak for you.
Almost no white people take the 1/16 thing seriously. It is an example of how ridiculous the whole thing as become.
During my shift at the booth yesterday, fellow Noers were extremely agitated over Albanese’s stunt of appearing at the Lakemba Mosque and seemingly promising some form if special priveledge for the Muzzies post Voice.
The expressed opinion was that he is a man with no moral base who holds Australian values and citizens in contempt.
I was surprised at the vehemence of the reaction.
The great strategist would seem to have been trapped in front once again.
It was all about “soft targets”.
Music festival goers are typically younger, “progressive” types.
It shouldn’t be lost on Australians that our summer festival series kicked off here two weekends ago.
Pretty chilling.
Given this person is OK with “fluid borders” and the ebb and flow of people across those borders, he/she wouldn’t have much time for the 1/1024ths screaming “Invasion Day” 250 years after the event.
Like in 1967, when the Israelis took territory after being attacked?
Borders do change over time.
After WWII Germany rightfully lost a f*ck ton of territory.
After the 6 days war, all Pali’s should have been forced out.
Not just to Gaza or the West Bank.
All the way out.
Similar to the big Greek & Turkish swichteroo which wasn’t all that long ago.
A simple six-word question is sinking, if it hasn’t already sunk the Voice. It’s a question that was asked from the start:
Where has all the money gone?
We could have all had flying cars by now.
Snap, Sancho.
Ah, yes. “Borders change”.
Also, “Palestinian land” and “Always is; always was”.
The nerve. The absolute nerve.
Ray Martin thinks he’s got the sort of clout Denis Walter swings around at Carols by Candlelight.
Where has all the money gone?
The more one reads about Noel from Noosa & his business dealings, the more this question needs to be asked.
Yes, heaven forbid someone contradict you by looking at any history book anywhere…
Borders do change, that is the nature of warfare…
Isreal could always take the genocide to them, but I guess that would be hypocritical…
The reality is that the state of Isreal will only exist while the U.S./Europe can afford to support it.
Once that financial and military support goes, so will Isreal.
I understand that you see this as insulting and some form of personal attack, but that is the reality of the situation.
No support for Israel in our streets but the start of the Pali support network on show.
Wait until Israel really winds up the clean out of Gaza and watch the Green/Labor left squeal for the innocent victims.
Teals by name will be ducking this one.

My position has always, and will always be that if the British had committed genocide upon arrival in Australia, then we wouldn’t have the problems we’re having now.
Israel can pay their own way and developed their own nukes. If the US cut them off, they’d buy from France.
Syria wouldn’t exist without Iran and Russia now. Prove me wrong. GO!!!
Ray desparately tried to dig his way out of his “dickheads and dinosaurs” jibe on Spotlight last night.

Mmmyes.
Luigi might want to consider the end game of creating “Nations” within a Nation and stoking the grievance fire.

It doesn’t address anything I put forward, it’s just an attempt to ignore/discredit through insulting the person rather than countering the information.
“It doesn’t address anything I put forward, it’s just an attempt to ignore/discredit through insulting the person rather than countering the information.”
The sneering continues. Go read some history books.
The “No” vote represents the upper limit of the conservative vote. By definition, No is a conservative position.
The challenge is for some conservative party to replicate that vote in a State or Federal election.
Should be simple, right? Just set your policies adjacent to the No position:
No welcome to country
No indigenous round in the footy
No promotion of faggotry or trans
No spending money on progressive causes
…

“I hope the governments of Europe are ready for the noise from Israel to start resonating the antennae of some of their recent imports.”
Already happening in London. And apparently, here at Sydney Uni, there’s going to a pro-Hamas demo.
Anyway, As I write, here in Australia Jewish schools, kindergartens, synagogues, old people’s homes, communal organisations and so on are on high alert.

Taking hostages right at the start is a new tactic. Hamas opened this war with a strategy aimed at holding the cards at all stages, but mainly when it’s over, even knowing Israel will smash just about all their military assets.
A yuuuge own goal by the Yessirs and their “fact-checker” enablers.
When confronted by the $35 billion figure they “fact check” it down to $8 or $10 billion.

I recognise that there is an almost unanimous view on the subject.

The question of who is really an “aboriginal” (not “indigenous”, which has a different meaning) must be resolved after this. Being generous, one-eighth could be acceptable, but nothing less.
The rabid leftard Israeli rag Haaretz claimed “dozens” of Hamas troops invaded the Gaza region to initiate the attack..
Either Hareetz is competing with the ABC, CNN, NYT and WP for the most mendacious news reporting on the planet, or there are seriously serious questions that need to be asked about what the Israeli army had been doing along the Gaza border.
A notoriously unstable region, one would have expected a massive, alert army presence there. Not to mention fully deployed rapid-response technology.
Early days yet, but even leaving a politicised Mossad aside, massive failures in Israeli defence, especially the army, are going to be revealed.

Lakemba pro-Palestine rally held with hundreds in attendance to support Hamas attack on Israel
The Prime Minister has condemned celebrations over the unfolding crisis in Israel after hundreds rallied in Sydney’s southwest to show support for Palestine.
Prime Minister Anthony Albanese condemned the land, sea, and air assault by Hamas and those who gathered in support of the violence, after celebrations broke out in Sydney’s southwest.
On Sunday night, a Palestinian rally was held to express support for the attacks launched in Israel.
People in their hundreds flocked to Lakemba Station on Sunday night, just a day after at least 700 people were killed in Israel and another 2000 were reportedly injured, according to the country’s media.
Australian onlookers were seen cheering and shouting as a series of speakers preached their praises for the Palestinian attacks, which began on Saturday.
“I’m smiling and I’m happy. I’m elated,” Sheikh Ibrahim Dadoun said to the crowd.
“It’s a day of courage, it’s a day of resistance, it’s a day of pride, it’s a day of victory.
“This is the day we’ve been waiting for.”
The statements were followed by loud cheers from the crowd.
Mr Albanese told Sunrise there was “no victory with the slaughter of innocent people”.
“The capturing of the people and taking them back to Gaza represents an extraordinary action by Hamas. And Israel, of course, has a right to defend itself, and it will.”

Breaking News Israel: US weapons left behind in Afghanistan used to attack Israel.
A high-ranking Israel Defense Forces (IDF) commander said US weapons left in Afghanistan by the Biden administration were found in the hands of Palestinian groups active in the Gaza Strip.

JUST IN: Initial reports state upwards of 200 bodies were recovered at the site of the music festival that was attacked by Hamas.
Can you imagine what would’ve happened if someone in Australia said that about Anders Breivik the day after he massacred those kids? Massacring kids is exactly what the Hamas gtuys did. The Israelis so far have picked up 260 bodies from those massacred at the music festival.
This behaviour is very revealing, that’s for sure.

On what basis? Anyone other than a 100% fullblood would*not*exist had the evil British never landed – none of them.
And, let’s not forget that the Paleo flag is a “lift” from the Jordanian one.
Let us also not forget the words of Zuheir Mohsen, – top PLO member responsible for Damur massacre:
“The Palestinian people does not exist. The creation of a Palestinian state is only a means for continuing our struggle against the state of Israel for our Arab unity. In reality today there is no difference between Jordanians, Palestinians, Syrians and Lebanese. Only for political and tactical reasons do we speak today about the existence of a Palestinian people, since Arab national interests demand that we posit the existence of a distinct “Palestinian people” to oppose Zionism. For tactical reasons, Jordan, which is a sovereign state with defined borders, cannot raise claims to Haifa and Jaffa, while as a Palestinian, I can undoubtedly demand Haifa, Jaffa, Beer-Sheva and Jerusalem. However, the moment we reclaim our right to all of Palestine, we will not wait even a minute to unite Palestine and Jordan.”This fact was admitted by Professor Philip Hitti, an Arab historian who declared, “There is no such thing as Palestine in history, absolutely not.” This fact is further confirmed by the Saudi Arabia Representative at the United Nations. “It is common knowledge that Palestine is nothing but Southern Syria.”
Or Fathi Hammad, who said live on TV:
“…half of the Palestinians are Egyptians and the other half are Saudis”
How about Hafez Assad, Father of the Syrian “incumbent, who said to the PLO:
“You do not represent Palestine as much as we do. Never forget this one point: There is no such thing as a Palestinian people, there is no Palestinian entity, there is only Syria.”
Then there’s Zuhair Muhsin, Executive Council, military commander of the PLO and member of the PLO:
“There are no differences between Jordanians, Palestinians, Syrians and Lebanese. We are all part of one nation. It is only for political reasons that we carefully underline our Palestinian identity… yes, the existence of a separate Palestinian identity serves only tactical purposes. The founding of a Palestinian state is a new tool in the continuing battle against Israel.”
And finally, a few words from retired terrorist, Walid Shoebat:
“Why is it that on June 4th 1967 I was a Jordanian and overnight I became a Palestinian?” We did not particularly mind Jordanian rule. The teaching of the destruction of Israel was a definite part of the curriculum, but we considered ourselves Jordanian until the Jews returned to Jerusalem. Then all of the sudden we were Palestinians – they removed the star from the Jordanian flag and all at once we had a Palestinian flag”. When I finally realized the lies and myths I was taught, it is my duty as a righteous person to speak out”.
And another thing:
The Romans called what used to be Judea, “Palaestina” as a rather nasty joke.
After the siege of Masada. Emperor Hadrian decided to erase the name of Judeah forever, so being literate and having a suitably grim, Roman sense of humour, he ordered the area to be renamed after earlier inhabitants of the region; a large band of notorious pirates. These were the “Peleshet”, a name which variously and loosely translates to “invaders” or “raiders”. They had long since ceased operating in the region, but their memory lingered across the eastern Mediterranean.
And, just for giggles, Yasser Arafat, PLO bigshot and “interesting” person, was an Egyptian .
I just find it hilarious.
I don’t see myself as a victim, that would require me to value what other people think of me.
Everything they touch …
“We will pursue the youth vote”
Oh.
“We will push to shore up traditional Labor voters”
The only demographic left to be destroyed by Luigi the Unbelievable is 19-20 year old transgender Greens.
Andrew Bolt:
No compromise. Destroy them.
Fully agree, this is the corollary of my comment about not using claims of aboriginality to “suck on the taxpayer teat in any way whatsoever on that basis”.
Need, not greed.
That is a fair point.
I suppose most leftist forums have normally dropped the ban hammer on me by this time in the past.
American man, 23, sends chilling message before going missing from Israeli rave
OK Interesting https://www.jpost.com which seemed to be down yesterday is back up again
Quite so.
The only problem is, it will require someone from the SFLs to pursue and prosecute that case.
The only one I see with the courage to do it is Jacinta Price.
Unfortunately I fear she while be drowned out by lots of Photiotypes calling for “healing hands of friendship” and “moving on”.
Hamas at work – Picture of Festival Attendees – Not what you would call Armed Soldiers – Is this all Hamas is capable of fighting?
“You have no enemies, you say? Alas, my friend, the boast is poor. He who has mingled in the fray of duty that the brave endure, must have made foes.
If you have none, small is the work that you have done.
You’ve hit no traitor on the hip. You’ve dashed no cup from perjured lip. You’ve never turned the wrong to right. You’ve been a coward in the fight.”
Charles Mackay
Israel haters speak of the Gaza occupation – hasn’t it been effectively self governing (by the PA, then Hamas) since the Oslo accords in ’83 ?
Well, we had a Brievik fan-bois here for a while, and he wasn’t met with universal condemnation.
(You know who you are).
Speaking of “greenpiece”:
Does anyone else recall the constant greenpiece “protests against the Japanese whalers?
Supplementary: Does anybody remember the greenpiece harassment the fleets of soviet ships hauling tonnes of Krill” (tiny shrimp) out of those same waters? If you can, seek professional help.
Krill; the primary diet of many whale species.
“Situational Ethics” writ large, as usual.
Yeah they were cyberattacked.

I think that 1/8 is generous, 1/4 would be quite reasonable.
Nope, bugger it. The state should not give any benefits to people by race.
Give assistance to people in genuine need – not those who choose to live on the dole, or who make incredibly bad decisions and then expect no consequences.
The entire aboriginal industry should be closed down.
For that matter too should be the whole concept of “living on country”. Those concepts were encouraged because somehow it was thought to be beneficial to continue to exist in some 50/50 concept of living the life of the noble savage while enjoying benefits from the while man of education, health, policing, and endless handouts. It hasn’t worked, and it will never work.
Close it down. Move to the cities. Become a normal Aussie.
Lakemba Mosque “blindsided” by Albanese’s support for Israel’s right to defend itself.
“He was just here on Friday.”
A question that goes begging immediately you have multiple classes of citizens.
True, and Iran has been getting a lot of bucks from the US tax payer, courtesy of the Sniffer’s administration. Billions of bucks handed to them, only weeks ago. No wonder Iran feels empowered.
Iran did not get one cent of US tax payers money. They got Iranian money which was frozen in South Korean banks through US sanctions released to a Qatar bank. The money was owed to Iran for the sale of condensate some time ago but withheld because of the US sanctions.
Didn’t Israel withdraw from the Gaza Strip in 2005? They left behind an established industry growing fruit and vegetables in greenhouses, employing hundreds of the locals, and contributing millions of dollars to the local economy.
Rioting Palis destroyed the lot.
The most useful section of any Act is often the definitions section where you find out who’s In and who’s Out.
Ben Garrison gets it.

We can largely thank Malcolm Fraser for that.

Good Lord.
How very Grampian.
“I don’t see myself as a victim, that would require me to value what other people think of me.”
Then why use the term “dogpile”? Could it be that you’re contradicting yourself?
Re; what Israel should do. Last night I suggested nuking iran:
Iranian security officials helped plan Hamas’s surprise attack on Israel and gave the green light for the assault, according to senior members of Hamas and Hezbollah.
And this:
Israel Releases Names and Photos of the Dozens of Beautiful Young Women Who Are Missing Following Saturday’s Hamas Attack
I suggest a 10 kt nuke for each woman.

here we go
Geez, if the promos are accurate, 4 Corners’ Woodside program tonight looks like an absolute undergraduate stinker. Producers should be jailed for facilitating the little trots.
I survived Mao. Hillary Clinton’s call for ‘deprogramming’ of Trump supporters is no joke, it’s alarming
The PM and Yes leaders have made a very big effort to woo Islamic religious leaders to the Yes side. Noel from Noosa was doing this in Qld over a month ago.
Hopefully people have noticed how the Yes campaign has tried to garner support and will vote No even more.
I use the term dogpile because it aptly describes what is happening.
I still find it amusing though, as it was born out my of lack solidarity with the prevailing opinion.
But people’s emotions are running high, I understand, so analysis of anything else goes out the windows.
Iron Dome at work.
Elon is asking for calm. One of the obvious theories about why iran did this:
Iran had to do something. The Abraham accords were slowly emasculating their power in the Middle East. They want to be the hegemonic power not KSA. Everybody assumes Iran wants nukes to threatened Israel. That’s laughable. The IDF has 300 nukes most on par with our own ICBM and SLBM warheads
There’s probably some truth to this but you can over analyze. The facts are basic: iran wants Israel dead. Some other ME states due to the work of Trump have accepted Israel. Will Israel olbliterating iran jeopardise Trump’s progress. Bearing in mind that up until now biden and his swamp were empowering iran.
If only the Normans had wiped out the Anglo-Saxons, eh?
And yet American Jews predominantly support Biden’s Democrats.
“Assimilation” was Government policy until that pair of clowns, Whitlam and Coombes, came along.
“When can we celebrate the bombing of the Lakemba Mosque on a Friday. What a shame, too bad. Its not as if they are innocent is it? These people are barbarians. Is the celebration of innocent Jewish life hate speech, if so, where are the luvvies condemning it. Crickets, I hear crickets.”
Yep. Yesterday on Outsiders Rowan Dean gave an editorial in which he skewered the the rampant hypocrisy and Jew hatred of the left. Apart from the Gazans, the Iranians and so on, there are also people closer to home, even in our Labor and Greens parties, who must bear responsibility for this invasion and massacre, and that is western progressives. These progressives, with their putrid moral equivalence, have spent decades feeding the crocodile that is “Palestine”, “Islamism”, “BDS” and so on.
Enough.
“And yet American Jews predominantly support Biden’s Democrats.”
Yes, secular assimilated American Jews but not religious Jews, and they’re the only Jewish demographic that is growing.
“I use the term dogpile because it aptly describes what is happening.”
You use the term “dogpile” because you don’t like being rebutted.
No doubt the Lakemba terrorists actually gathered around the Lakemba War Memorial.
And Albenese was there a week ago spuiking the close ties between Aboriginal Australians and muslims.
Brilliant.
Ok, so does your omniscience have a better recommendation?
Daily Telegraph. Some of the comments are almost pathetic in their naivety – if the Israelis hadn’t invaded Palestinian lands, this would never have happened.
That’s a pretty disgusting suggestion that Western civilianization mores should be abandoned in favour of islamic barbarism.
The problems with Aborigines is, in comparison to some intercine strife, on the small side.
Penny Wong tut tutting the terrorist sympathisers at Lakemba.
Eyes on the prize as always.
If you don’t like being disagreed with, complain about a pile on
American liberals have turned on secular Jews.
I’m not sure it was all about keeping the Israelis down so they could not fight back and form an independent state like the Hasmoneans did.
Ironically despite their more inland origins, the Phonecians (old Canaanites from the north) became seafaring ancestors of Carthage and the more coastal Philistines became homebodies. There are some Jewish scholars who believe Judaism started in Canaan so the influence of Hebrews on world history is huge even in the ancient world, ignoring the biblical implications…
[I just find this very interesting, like the extent to the Romans explored the open ocean or how early the Mediterranean were talking to and trading with the early British and Irish.]
Let’s think about why the Romans would like to retcon a few hundred or thousand years of history they knew about.
Now, of course, the Romans had their own reputation to spit shine and wouldn’t call Acre; “Vetus Carthago”.
As they controlled Greece and largely spoke Greek in the civil service, calling it Syria Palestinian was not offensive to the regime which had God Emperors and acknowledged Greek roots of Italy and Rome. They liked to think of Rome as a second, more moral and tougher Athens with the same level of scholarship and mythical roots. Greece was taken over by acting as an arbiter between the Greek states, Carthage was a real threat to the survival of Rome as an early Empire, confederation and the City itself.
Another thing to remember is that Greece is sometimes considered part of the levant, the last three dynasties of the Israeli monarchy (Maccabees to Herod Agrippa’s death) were Greek speakers and so were educated Hellenistic Israelites – possibly like St Luke the Evangelist.
Rome had it’s own PR issues, not just a small Koine Greek speaking rebel Kingdom to suppress.
You’re right, it’s mostly women in the dogpile, it’s not like they can do much damage.
Then why sook in the first place oh original and unique thinker?
So yes at times opinions line up and at other times they don’t. We all have opinions like we all have a certain bit of anatomy.
You only have to look at the media reaction to this mid-east disgrace .. ALL the popular internet Oz media outlets have shutdown comments on 95% of their reports coming from Israel/Gaza … they’ve had no trouble skewering the comments on the Voice to favour the YES vote but aren’t so keen to risk public opinion on Israel/Hamas
“I still find it amusing though, as it was born out my of lack solidarity with the prevailing opinion”
So, the prevailing opinion here is one of outrage at what has happened in Israel, where elderly Jewish men and women, young Jewish men and women, Jewish children, Jewish and Druze IDF soldiers sleeping in their bunks, have been murdered, the naked bodies of young Jewish women mutilated and their corpses paraded through the streets of Gaza, to cheers from the local Gazans. I think most here are outraged. But not you. Interesting. And when rebutted, you sneer ‘dogpiling’.
“You’re right, it’s mostly women in the dogpile, it’s not like they can do much damage.”
Sneering misogyny.
Nope, bugger it. The state should not give any benefits to people by race.
It’s not just 251s that have/do benefit form CentreLink favouritism but most ethnic imports .. Back in the 1990s/early 2000s Centrelink re-classified 10s 0f 1 000s of country shoppers from the “dole” to the “rorters” .. not because they “suddenly” developed an incapacity to work but to improve the, then, spiralling unemployment figures …
I never made any comment about the attack.
My comments were in regard to how it may play out afterwards.
As I said, Israel can go and nuke everyone for all I care.
What happens then?
And what happens once the West can no longer bankroll the military support for their continued existence due to our own internal problems?
Yes women are weaker than men, hence they can’t do as much damage…
I’m not sure what part of that reality is misogyny.
It is simply reality.
If there’s only subjective morality then Israel is free to conquer militarily less powerful states that threaten its existence, without any justification at all.
Even that came off wrong – to wit they don’t even need to frame it in terms of self defence.
“Yes women are weaker than men, hence they can’t do as much damage…”
Hey sneerer, tell Bruce Lehrmann that.
They are absolutely free to do that, if they desired to conquer more territory for more resources.
There may be consequences for doing so though, but they can certainly do that if they wish.
That’s called weaponisation of a feminist controlled court and legal system.
No individual is stronger than a government.
In single combat, he’ll even 3 women vs the average guy, the guy will come out on top.
Plasmamortar trying to play the role of the considered, detached intellectual.
But just a dumb c-nt, really.
Care to repeat that in English?
