How is Wong even a front bencher? Just listening to her on Sky, certainly not polished with speech. Full of ah’s, really this is our rep on the world stage?

Liberals need to go after her more and Gallagher more. Why they haven’t is beyond me.

Marles: it’s very difficult to win a referendum, and it’s Tony Abbott and John Howard’s fault. We knew it’s hard to get referendums up. It’s difficult where there’s uncertainty, but we followed through on our promises! Our focus is on Closing the Gap!

Mundine: No camp will not be celebrating
Sarah Elks
Sarah Elks

Warren Mundine said the No camp would not be celebrating, and called for the government to do a “performance audit” on billions spent on Indigenous Affairs.

Mr Mundine is in Brisbane and said he and No volunteers would be having a “beer and a lemon squash and a chit chat”.

He said “we need to make sure children are safe, women are safe” and children were going to school.

“I know Australians who wanted to vote Yes, but this voice…no one gave them details…it was almost like a magic wand,” he said.

Mr Mundine said they would have a rest and then “get back to work”.

Mr Mundine said “we are going to fix things and move forward as a nation”.

“You must accept the vote, in a democracy people make the decisions,” he said. “What we want to do now is move forward and build the communities, get kids educated and get a job.”

He accused Aboriginal academic Marcia Langton of calling Australia a racist country. “You have been rejected by the Australian people, the Australian people want to move forward,” Mr Mundine said.

Yes. There has been such an abuse of power and misappropriation of money that the Libs should be able to make a feast of this:

A plan so far removed from mainstream Australia, an ignoring of real people’s concerns, a failed campaign to mislead the people, politics over government – and add in the other issues at the same time such as Israel-Hama-sandwich.

The whole Labor government has been utterly derelict and party political. The Libs should be able to dine out on this for at least a generation.
