The Packham Williams medal

CONTROVERSY RAGES OVER THE WIN BY BEN POTTER AND COLIN PACKHAM

Last year the Packham Williams medal competition launched to commemorate the contribution of Colin Packham and Perry Williams to misinformation in reporting on energy issues.

Sins of commission abound when false claims by politicians and others are published and there are sins of omission when politicians and other enthusiasts for unreliable energy are not asked searching questions.

The voting did not run for the full season because the judging panel resigned en masse, claiming they could not stand the strain of reading all the substandard stories to award the points.

Counting the votes was suspended and the award was made by consensus to Ben Potter who curated the weekly collection for The Carbon Challenge at the Fin Review and Colin Packham at The Australian.
