Guest Post: Speedbox – Tone Deaf and Queensland

Recently, I couldn’t miss the media reporting about Lisa Wilkinson and her salary negotiations with the Nine Network.  Who?   Many of us would not know that Ms. Wilkinson was a co-host of one of those dreary television morning shows that is no more than an orgy of self-congratulation and mutual appeasement on all things ‘social’ punctuated by frequent advertisements for haemorrhoid cream, retirement villages or life insurance.

Apparently, Wilkinson was co-hosting the Today show with Karl Stefanovic (another dreary forgettable individual) and Stefanovic was receiving $2 million PER YEAR for his television appearance.  During contract renewal negotiations, Wilkinson was offered only $1.8m.  Wilkinson was outraged and demanded $2.3 million.  The network declined and told her that her services were no longer required.   So, she has now written a book detailing her trials and tribulations and this book is the subject of multiple news reports.

It is difficult to imagine the thought processes of somebody that might say: ‘No, I won’t accept $35,000 per week, I want $44,000 PER WEEK and if I don’t get it, I will write a book setting out my difficulties in life’.   Meanwhile, sympathy or acknowledgement for the economic devastation to business and many tens of thousands unemployed due to Covid does not get a jersey.  That these issues should be raised in public is bad enough and demonstrates an appalling lack of commercial-in-confidence awareness, but even more so when coupled to a self-entitled tone deaf narcissistic ‘I am a star’ attitude.   What a bitter and twisted place morning television must be – and again, Lisa who?

Speaking of things bitter and twisted…..the Queensland Premier Anastasia Palaszczuk (pronounced Pal-as-szhuk, not Pallashay) has revealed her plans to allow visitors into Queensland.  In short, you can come in but only if you’re double vaccinated and even then, don’t bother trying before December 17th.

After that date, you will still need to have the results of a rapid PCR test to make sure you don’t have Covid but she will graciously allow you to roam relatively freely once inside the border.  Be aware however, that the vaccination rate in most of Queensland outside the SE corner of the State is woefully low (~30%).  Therefore, flash lockdowns are possible (and, highly likely) after the filthy hordes from the south infect the unsuspecting rural folk.  If you are in the area at the time, you will also be quarantined (you disease ridden swine).

All is not lost however.  Anastasia wants to see Queenslanders achieve a 90% double vaccination rate at which time all restrictions would be eliminated.  When achieved, you could drive, fly, scooter or walk into Queensland and go about your activities without a care.  That the rate of daily vaccinations dispensed in Queensland is one of the lowest in Australia for both 1st or 2nd shots has been glossed over.  Or, that a 90% vaccination rate would probably see Queensland achieve the highest double vaccination rate in the world is also lost in translation.  But sure, why not, seems feasible to me (sarc).

The one highlight is that we will soon be rid of that dreadful ‘chicken little’ CHO, Jeanette Young.   From November 1st she will step aside for her new role as State Governor.  Of course, this means that she cannot be called to give evidence in any subsequent enquiry into her ‘medical’ advice or the restrictions enforced in her name, but perhaps that is a small price to pay.

To sum up – unless essential, stay out of Queensland for the next six months.  Don’t let the euphoria of NSW and Victoria fool you into thinking Qld is on the same path.  CHO Young is gone but we still have Palaszczuk (pronounced Pal-as-szhuk, not Pallashay) and she remains unpredictable and near obsessive in her desire to exercise control over the masses whilst on her crusade to “keep Queenslanders safe”.  (God help you if you need to use one of our hospitals).  Snap lockdowns and border closures in addition to other restrictions are still viewed as viable solutions.  Queensland will still be here next year and the chances of being caught up in one of the Premier’s manic control episodes will, probably, be reduced.

So, the CHO is morphing into the Governor, Putin style? Perfectly placed to keep extending the state of emergency forever?

There are three things you can be guaranteed of in life…

1. Taxes.

2. Death.

3. Progressives lying.

3. Progressives lying.

Classic example: Daniel Andrews.
He even lies when surely he must be aware that contrary evidence exists on film, or can demonstrably be proven to be a lie.

And it’s not Polish either; it’s Ukrainian or Belarusian.

One wonders at the reason for the misdirection.

They lie knowing they can get away with it. MSM scum cover up for them…just look at how the MSM covers up for Andrews in Victoria and Biden and co in the USA.

Just a general observation apropos nothing and nobody mentioned in this post:

Pathological lying is a feature of antisocial personality disorder, a.k.a sociopathy.

Carry on.

I guess that apart all of this continuous border closure stuff being illegal – but who cares these days, hey – the one significant problem with this genius’ ‘plan’ is that, as amply demonstrated overseas, it is actually the ‘fully vaccinated’ that are showing up to double the rates of ‘covid’; be it via the ongoing & still dodgy PCR testing or hospital admissions.

‘The euphoria’ in VIC/NSW will soon fizzle out, even leaving aside the small fact of the truly apartheid policies this has brought in.

Just like the Israelis and the British, get ready for your third ‘jab’, endless masks and new lockdowns. And of course, all conveniently coupled with the Feds’ spanky-shining new ‘Digital ID’.

Unless enough of us say ‘NO’, just like rural Queenslanders apparently are.

Given the fast growing number of ‘jabhadis’ now evident even in comments of the ‘conservative’ (LOL) newspaper like The Australian, I become ever more convinced that most of the Australian turkey cannot wait for Christmas to come soon enough.

The Vice-Regal appointment means it’ll be poor form to ask her any sticky questions for the next five years, plus extensions as necessary, until the punters forget who said what to who.

Fat chance. I visit rural Qld frequently and outside of a roughly 100km radius from Brisbane there is almost no mask wearing or QR check-ins. At a recent lunch stop at a small village near Boonah, with around 15 customers inside and more outside, the only one to wear a mask was the copper who came in to collect the local station’s lunch order, and left totally ignoring the rest. It’s all scaremongering of course, and I suspect some fear that the warm summer weather will see cases reduced, which will make it hard to continue with the oppression.

As some bloke called Ian Watson apparently said:

“If you have to be persuaded, lied to, incentivized, coerced, bullied, socially shamed, guilt-tripped, threatened, punished and criminalized.

If all of this is considered necessary to gain your compliance.

You can be absolutely certain that what is being promoted is not in your best interest.

Absolutely tone deaf releasing her ‘woe is me’ tome at this point of time, obviously living in a bubble.

What’s hilarious though is Sam Maiden apparently tweeting out today that for the first half of their on-air partnership (2007-2011), Lisa was considered the ‘talent’ and earning more than Karl. She only cut-up rough in 2017 when she found out that Karl had been earning more than her since 2015. LOLZ.

Even better is that ole Britt Higgins has now cut up rough with Sam Maiden (who originally broke her story) over being ‘mean’ to Lisa, with ole Grace Tame piling on as well. LOLZ

Eating their own. (phrasing!) oh god, what a ghastly scene that would be. kill me now.

Worth noting she won the last election with only 39% of the primary vote, Tinta.

Against a lacklustre opposition leader.

I’d wager Labor’s own polling is showing her going backwards since.

Yes…..I’m feeling a lot of schadenfreude. Anyway, Brittaneeeeeeeee has overstepped her mark here. Moreover, as I wrote this morning, Brittaneeeeeeeee has a trial coming up and wiser heads should be advising her to pull her head in because by her behaviour and words, she’s prejudicing her own case. But she won’t pull her head in because she’s consumed with her own “celebrity” and she now thinks she’s unassailable. She walking on thin cracking ice here….and I hope she falls through, which is something I will enjoy very much.

That’s the story of the Liberal Party and the leaders they vomit up, in Queensland, Victoria and WA, all Labor lite, ineffectual cretins.

Quite possibly the stupidest people to have existed in human history, commercial FTA TV executives, who therefore possess unique insights into the viewing habits of their ever dwindling audience(s).

I wouldn’t describe Deb Frecklington as a cretin, but ineffectual? Yes, certainly. Her media performances were cringeworthy.

As for her successor, David Crisafulli, whatever mojo he once had when he turfed Labor out of Twonsville – no mean feat – seems to have long since departed.

The thing that makes the whole Lisa thing fall on its face is that at the time Karl was also doing 60 Minutes, A Current Affair and a bunch of other forgettable nonsense. Lisa was on Today.

They have a plan? I thought they were making it up as they go along – all of them.

Perhaps they might care to peruse this apropos opinion piece regarding the role of risk in our society (OK, it’s US centric, but it equally applies to us):

and another thing, even if it was true (which it isn’t, there’s actual footage giving lie to it) what kind of pathological narcissism would lead a grown woman to cut up rough, whine about it in a book no less as some kind of feminist cri de coeur, that your on air colleague had neglected to congratulate you publicly on the telly for merely renewing your wedding vows and treating yourself to another fancy honeymoon?!

I mean seriously, does she honestly believe anyone outside of her lightweight, pulp media bubble and New Idea gives a tinkers that she’s rekindled her love for Fitz. Excruciating.

It is probably true that regional Qld is better than the SE corner but don’t be lulled into thinking it is some sort of utopia. I recently spent some time in a country town visiting rellies in central Qld and there are plenty of old ducks who only get their news from the ‘trustworthy. ABC who are crapping bricks about the bug and cranky at freedom protestors. They don’t realise what is in store for them down the track.

It was quite funny talking to folks in the shops, they unconsciously took half a step back when I said I was from Brisvegas. They were surprised when I said the only person I know who has had the bug is my son living in England who I haven’t seen for 3 years (two due to the lockdown).

As a side note, he had his first shot of Moderna, then got the bug a few weeks later. He’s had his second shot since (I don’t know why but the propaganda there must be even worse than here).
