Last week I received the following email from Dave Sharma, the current member for Wentworth (my local member) …..
Dear Cassie of Sydney
Australians want action on climate change
The global market is rapidly changing and is demanding lower carbon alternatives.
Australia can save the planet and ensure that future generations have well-paying jobs too.
That’s why the Morrison Government has released the first comprehensive economy-wide plan from a government to reach net zero emissions by 2050.
The plan builds on our strong track record and continues the policies that have proven to be successful.
We’ve have already seen it work. Australia has the world’s highest uptake of rooftop solar, with 1 in 4 homes. Australia’s emissions have already fallen by 20% since 2005 – and are projected to drop up to 35% by 2030.
A summary of the plan can be found here. The full 129-page plan can be found here.
We know there’s a lot to take in, so we have organised an online forum with former Chief Scientist and net zero guru, Dr Alan Finkel AO.
The forum will take place at 6:30pm – Tuesday, 9 November.
I’ve already posted here on the Cat my reply to the above rubbish, so I won’t repost it. Suffice to say, this email from Dave Sharma represents just how much the Liberal Party has fallen and it encapsulates why there is simply no point in ever voting Liberal again.
It’s clear to me that Dave Sharma, like his dripping wet mates in the Liberal Party, Jason Falinsky, Trent Zimmerman, Katie Allen, Tim Wilson and others, seems to think that by spruiking a policy of net zero emissions and by forcing Morrison and the Liberal Party to adopt that policy, it will enable them to placate and keep at bay the fury of the woke gods who are coming after them. You might ask just who are these woke gods? Well, they’re an amalgam of activist scum like GetUp and very malicious and hypocritical children of the uber rich, among them Simon Holmes a Court and Alex and Daisy Turnbull. So, here’s my advice to Dave Sharma, advice that he’ll no doubt ignore, but I’ll give it to him anyway, that his sacrifices to these woke gods, such as the destruction of Australia’s energy grid with the elimination of reliable and affordable energy from coal, will be in vain because these woke gods will never ever be satisfied. Holmes a Court, Turnbull and all the others who are currently financing or intending to finance independents to run in seats like Wentworth, Higgins and North Sydney, are doing so not because they have a problem with the Liberal’s embrace of net zero emissions but because they want to destroy the Liberal party in these once safe seats. They’re after you Dave and nothing you do and nothing Morrison does will ever placate the fury of these woke gods. But don’t worry Dave, the wealthy voters of Warringah, Wentworth, North Sydney and Higgins will always be able to afford the soaring power prices. They won’t feel the impact.
So, after the electoral slaughter of the Liberal party at the next federal election, when the party wakes up and surveys the grim wasteland, I have an idea, if there are any wise heads remaining in the party perhaps they could counsel the party to kiss goodbye to electorates like Wentworth, Warringah, North Sydney and Higgins, and they should recognise that the Liberal party has no future in these wealthy electorates and instead the party should look further afield, to middle and working class Australia, in traditional Labor and marginal electorates where there are men, women and children who will feel the impact of soaring power prices, blackouts, energy poverty and economic deprivation, all brought to you by the travesty that is “net zero emissions”.
So, Dave, enjoy your time in the Wentworth sun for the bell is tolling. The woke gods are greedy bastards but you have chosen to dance with them. They’re laughing at you from Mount Woke. You will never satisfy them. You will reap what you sow.
Spot on Cassie and superbly said.
It does mean we’ll have to put up with Labor for probably 2 terms (at least), but as the Libs are labor-lite anyway, there probably won’t be much difference.
It will take an electoral hammering for the Libs, hopefully to wake up to themselves, where it might occur to them to follow your suggestions . . . but I doubt it.
Yr exactly right about the middle class for Donald Trump demonstrated that in the USA and the middle class carried the day, Menzies did that long ago with his “forgotten people” for the middle class are the people who always carry the country. There was a great demo of that after perestroika when the so called elite swapped their Marxist Leninist hats for capitalistic ones and carried on as usual, the rabble snapped up everything not nailed down and appropriated it, and the middle class carried on as usual just as always. The only problem with we rusted on conservatives will come in the voting booth when we decide to vote for Pauline or Clive or a decent independent.
We need a legal mechanism (no, not tumbrils or lamp posts!) that holds politicians accountable for their lies.
Elections clearly aren’t working in that regard and neither is the press.
Maybe Sharma and Morrison could answer this, ‘Why is China allowed to do what it does under the guise of being a developing nation’?
China has:
The fourth largest nuclear weapons cache
The largest land army
The third largest air force
The largest navy
The world’s first hypersonic missile
A space station under development
A Mars rover in operation
China is also a world leader in:
5G technology
AI
Semiconductors
etc
If anything, Australia is a developing country compared to China and should be allowed to continue without criticism.
Could not agree more, Cassie.
I hope you replied to Sharma and gave him a piece of your mind!
This climate change crap is the main reason – along with the PM being an unprincipled, spineless POS, and absolutely no conservative – why I won’t be voting for the federal Libs in the next election (needless to say, nor will I vote Labor or Greens).
I will vote for the Libs in Victoria, but only because the alternative, voting for Dictator Dan is akin to voting for Satan IMO.
And I forgot to add this, from a quite surprising source:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RYSLyvbR_1w
Also, I deliberately called Australia a country and not a nation, as I don’t think we are a nation anymore, given the way that we have become divided because of COVID.
Every state for themselves.
Such behaviour doesn’t define a nation.
What is really frightening is the fact that these overpaid troughers, actually, believe that so many folk are more concerned more over climate change than the everyday task(s) of feeding and looking after the well-being of their families ..
Still, I suppose when your slurpin’ in the Canberra trough the real world is what your media maaates tell you it is ….. duuuuuuuuh!
Well said Cassie. An excellent summation of the whole problem. Why the libs persist in sucking up to all the scum that will never vote for them is amazing. Laughable too.
Annihilation at the next election can’t come quick enough.
When will the politicians (of any party) acknowledge that the rabble do not give a rat’s arse about the temperature long after they are dead?
Cassie,
Eleventy Eleven out of Ten.
A pox on 90% of the politicians (particularly the LINO’s) in this wonderful, but deteriorating, country.
In NSW as well as federally, even though labore in both instances will be demonstrably worse.
However, for being such a useless unprincipled collectivist rabble the gliberal party must be destroyed. It will be the only way to get it through their thick skulls that well over 50% of the electorate are fed up to the back teeth with having been disenfranchised.
no longer government of the people or for the people, but government over the people
I once thought that a Liberal Party was always better than any Labor Party; however, it’s become patently clear that a Liberal Party that has no values is far worse than a Labor Party that at least has values. The Liberal Party needs a complete cleansing.
The problem is Roger we are not using tumbrills and lampposts as intended. Mussolini and Ceaucescu is the model on how to dispose of failed politicians. Australians are too squeamish these days. I’m not.
Like the Democratic Party in the USA, the Liberal Party of Australia has become the available slut of woke billionaires who despise the middle class and the working class — and Dave Sharma is just one of the sluts for hire.
Robert Menzies warned us about this, but not about its extent: because no-one in it believes in anything beyond the perks of power, the Liberal Party has become the ideal subterfuge for the takeover of Australia by Marxist totalitarians.
The Communist Party of Australia was deregistered in the early 1990s, but it wasn’t out of lack of interest. Most of the old CPA joined the Greens, but, because the Australian electorate is inherently conservative and hates radicalism, it knew the correct way to end democratic freedom in Australia and turn it into a Marxist state was to keep subverting state institutions.
The Liberal Party was one of the last dominoes to fall.
But, like the left, it still thinks its true believers are dumb enough to keep voting for it. Boy, is it in for a surprise.
Sharma, Morrison and the rest of them are fools.
You’re right of course – why would a leftard vote for a Liberal when they have the real thing to vote for? It’s a simple question that these fools don’t even ask themselves.
The LNP is going to be at the bottom of my preferences, even below the Greens from now on. I have a special hatred for people that disenfranchise me, and that is exactly what Morrison and Co. have done.
Go One Nation. Go UAP. Go LDP.
Let’s Go Morrison!!!~
Cassie,
excellent stuff.
You make a very good point, which is becoming increasingly important – the left/greens pander to the hangers on (read dole, artists, taxpayer funded) and doctor’s wives (wealthy enough to go woke), while the conservatives need to target that fat middle of the electoral distribution. The ALP has gone so left it no longer represents the working class.
Well said, Cassie.
Abbott was skewered because of his opposition to this crap and replaced by the “potentially great” white ant in chief and his coterie of venal sycophants.
A now member of this pathetic parliament stated to me about ten years ago that the global warming push is nothing more than a wealth re-distribution scheme and everyone knows it.
Many here have known for ages that our politicians have been bought but at least now I detect a general awakening to this hypothesis in my wider interactions, particularly (AND I MEAN PARTICULARLY!!) wrt the Nationals.
If they were on fire, I will throw petrol.
Hopefully the Liberal Party vote will do the same.
Terrific Cassie.
Looks like we’re going to be lumbered with another climate woke State Gliberal down here as Tim Smith’s replacement.
I used to think that minor conservative parties holding the balance of power in both houses would help curtail the majors.
The problem I see now is that the ALP and LNP pretty much agree on everything so the minors really need a majority to stop the rot.
All this talk about “middle class Australians”…
That’s who governments are actively trying to destroy, because:
A strong middle class = a strong democracy.
Careful what you wish for…
A defeated LNP may easily turn left instead of right.
And having the balance of power with the minor r-w parties might be useless. The LNP might vote with Labor to bring in the idiot climate policies.
what a bright future, vote out the LNP so we get back the fabian marxist ALP. oh joy. what could possibly go wrong.
“A defeated LNP may easily turn left instead of right.”
Possible…but I doubt it.
What do you mean “may”…they already have.
And if they ventured any further left they’d be signing their own death warrant.
They’ve already lost a significant number of disillusioned voters over the last decade to minor parties.
There aren’t any votes for Dave Sharma turning into Clive Palmer or Mark Latham.
Thinking people accept that there’s going to be a redistribution of wealth whether they like it or not, and the Coalitoion NetZero sounds a whole lot saner than the Labor alternative, which is:
Blow Everything Up.

“…not tumbrils or lamp posts!”
Well, WhyTF not?
Nothing focuses the mind like being held totally accountable for malfeasance (just don’t, scumbag!)
Based solely on the damage inflicted (whether through incompetence or spite), they should feel relieved to be sent out so delicately; it is more than they deserve.
Reminds me of that old saying, “Do the crime, get hung from a lamp post”.
“There aren’t any votes for Dave Sharma turning into Clive Palmer or Mark Latham.”
Dick Ed is wrong, wrong, wrong………I know many here in Wentworth, where I live, who voted for Sharma in May 2019 and also voted for Latham in March 2019.
Latham is in favor of a Covid Vaxx being compulsory, isn’t he?
That’s the big issue.
Where does Dave stand on that?
Why should they accept it?
That defeatist attitude is typical of too many supposedly on the conservative side of politics these days.
More like losers accept it.
Because I believe in the rule of law.
Tumbrils and lamp posts were historically the tools of Jacobins and Communists respectively.
Because Australia is a Trading Nation and if we get out of step, we’ll be sanctioned.
Syria got out of step, it’s now entering a 12th year of sanctions.
Wanna be Syria?

The LNP might vote with Labor to bring in the idiot climate policies.
That will happen regardless of election results.

LOL…you really are a comedian.

Tell us the last time that the SFLs while in opposition became a mirror image of the Liars and were successful.
Hint: when you’ve been defeated at the ballot box you’ve lost not only swinging voters but a sizeable proportion of your own, and without the latter to begin the rebuild, you’re never going to make any headway back into government.
I wonder where and how the mainstream liars got so much power from.
We used to believe the “news”, but nowadays we have to challenge it at every turn, this includes every liar tv station which supports the woke and lefty cockheads.
I have listened to my younger relatives speak for the new order and hail people like Obummer, Spaki, spewlosi and even slomo.
I argue with them, but I can’t win, they shout me down the buggers. These are kids who are quite smart, but who have been brainwashed by the current generation of wokeness and lying media. I shudder to think about the next 30 or 40 years.
Are we, the understated “elite” thinkers the only bastion left?
Maybe we are lucky the states have the “Farter in chief” as a headline grabber, although the liars don’t say much about how fucked up he is.
AND THATS JUST WRONG WRONG AND WRONG.

‘Because I believe in the rule of law.’
Excellent. So, a fair trial and then the lamposts.
You’ve read my mind.
Very good post Cassie. I got a very similar email from Senator Ben Small. It started with exactly the same phrase. Hopefully the prize twit now realises that, no, not all Australians want action on climate change.
‘Ed Case
Syria got out of step, it’s now entering a 12th year of sanctions.
Sanctions? That’s a strange way to describe a civil war.
Tumbrils and lampposts. How asinine.
Defenestration onto a forest of pikes is the way to go..
After it’s made legal of course.

I’d be super-interested to know two things:
1. How many Cats gritted their teeth, held their noses, and ended up giving their preference to the Coalition in 2019?
2. How many Cats are going to grit their teeth, hold their noses, and give their preference to the Coalition in 2022?
I’m registered in Warringah, voted for TA in 2019 (scrutineered for him into the bargain) and expect Steggall to hold on. I’ll be putting the Liberals last enthusiastically in 2022, and hoping for a hung parliament with ONE and LDP holding the senate balance.
Sharma will be easily beaten (2,346 vote margin and sufficient people like our Cassie deciding to leave the reservation). Zimmerman, Falinski, and Wilson should all hang on.
As I’ve said before here, it will be the Nats who bear the ultimate brunt of the ending Morrison charade.
Thanks Cassie,
Hopefully you’re right and Dave and his fellow Mensheviks will be swept into oblivion next year. Sure their immediate replacements will be as bad – it’s hard to conceive of them being worse, but I suppose anything’s possible – but if we keep heading down the road to societal collapse I’d rather it happened under avowed leftists than the collapse being blamed on fake “conservatives”, thus leading to doubling down on the cause of the misery.
I did.
I won’t, after Scotty from Marketing’s green sell-out, and am prepared to endure some Hard Labor as a consequence.
Vote LNP last or vote Trump [1] and spoil your ballot.
the party should look further afield, to middle and working class Australia, in traditional Labor and marginal electorates where there are men, women and children who will feel the impact of soaring power prices, blackouts, energy poverty and economic deprivation
Cassie from my interactions with Lieboral party apparatchiks over the years, I honestly don’t believe that they are capable of doing this. Their privileged, cocooned backgrounds and current lifestyles cause me to believe this.
We know there’s a lot to take in, so we have organised an online forum with former Chief Scientist and net zero guru, Dr Alan Finkel AO.
What insulting, patronizing drivel. No double written by some little malaka with a BA and connections.
Well we all know what will happen when the Libs get smashed, they will move further left.

I have supported proposals like Cassie’s for some time, but have come to accept that you are correct. Time to seek a new rational party. At this stage, any of UAP, ON or LDP who happen to run where I live will get the vote, certainly in the Upper House, and possibly in the Lower (or someone’s suggestion above of a write in for Trump, to piss the scrutineers off).

Well we all know what will happen when the Libs get smashed, they will move further left.
Then their former voters will have no choice but to go for a replacement party.
Those of us in Dickson will need to vote for Peter Dutton who should have been leader instead of Morrison. The dividing of the Liberal party targeting Abbott and Bishop has been going on in the Northern beach suburbs for years readers of the Manly Daily would be aware of it. The whole NSW Liberal Party thing stinks of corruption. Why would O’Farrell go over as bottle of wine? One day Maggie Abbott should write her memoirs.
In other other words, Australia should decide policy based on foreign bullying and sanctions?
Disgraceful.
Well we know where you stand then, Ed.
A ‘net zero guru.’ Like the ‘world authority on re-incarnation’ who visited in the 1980s.
As per above, the Libs won’t get it.
Don’t worry about voting ourselves our of this shit. You need to get active and infiltrate one of the uniparty and force change from inside.
There’s your problem right there, unsubscribe from his email list.
I unsubscribed to my local member’s list, I was sick of the stupid piffle which came into my inbox from him.
Why should I read his stuff when he never responds to any concerns or questions from me?
Says it all about the Lib’s direction and it aint to the right:

A terrific post!
I live in Higgins and have sent emails with similar sentiments to my sopping wet MHR Katie Allen. She has stopped replying to them and I have no doubt she has dismissed me as a crank. I’m sure this seat will eventually fall to the green slime. I’m prepared to accept that – if I’m going to be shafted I’d prefer it to be by the natural shafters of gthe ALP/greens than by a treacherous liberal party. I’ve said as much in emails to Katie Allen.
One big problem is the fragmentation of the anti uniparty vote. We have PHON, Palmer, the Lib dems and one or two others. This means that although the total vote might be quite significant any individual vote is unlikely to be translated into seats in the reps although hopefully it will make a difference in the senate. We can only hope that the liars have to deal with an unmanageable senate after the next election. Otherwise we will be truly stuffed.
I love your image of the greedy gods in Mount Woke, Cassie. Spot on, as usual.
That’s a keeper which I must discuss with Dave Sharma should I run into him at the supermarket.
Yes, the wealthy electorates contain people who profit substantially from net-zero. Give them away and take politics to the people who suffer. I couldn’t agree more.
Yes, one of those sent me an extremely patronising reply when I wrote to Dave Sharma complaining about the Liberal’s climate policies. I think he keeps a stable of them.
Never ever voting Liberal again in my life.
I live in one of the safest Labor seats in the country. I could vote for anybody and it wouldn’t make a difference. The only advantage is that if I give the first preference to a minor that means someone else gets the cash
