Mater’s Musings #41: CU in the NT

Late in joining the latest trend, where Politicians and senior public officials feel virtuous by insulting their constituents and those they are appointed to serve (think Lush Lambie and Planet Cornelius), Michael Gunner shows a touch of the ‘troppo’ (or should that be Commo?).

Here’s a tip, Michael, some of the Aboriginal communities don’t want it either.

https://www.instagram.com/tv/CUD_WQOBqkm/?utm_source=ig_web_button_share_sheet

P.S. Michael, no matter how hard you try, or how much faux rage you conjure up, lasers will NOT come from your eyes. That only works in comic books.

ADF forces transferring Abos with positive COVID PCR test to Howard Springs Concentration Camp.

And all their families.

Australian Army Begins Transferring COVID-Positive Cases, Contacts To Quarantine Camps (22 Nov)

“Residents of Binjari and Rockhole no longer have the five reasons to leave their homes,” said Northern Territory chief minister, Michael Gunner, referring to the country’s five allowable reasons to avoid lockdown (buying food and supplies, exercising for up to two hours, care or caregiving, work or education if it can’t be done from home, and to get vaccinated at the nearest possible location).

“They can only leave for medical treatment, in an emergency, or as required by law.”

“It’s highly likely that more residents will be transferred to Howard Springs today, either as positive cases or close contacts,” he continued, adding “We have already identified 38 close contacts from Binjari but that number will go up. Those 38 are being transferred now.”

If some Premier used the Army to put Aboriginal families in a concentration camp only two years ago the incandescent outrage would be flying in from everywhere. We seem to’ve gone through the looking glass into a very strange world.

arrogant, gormless dickhead

This is an accurate description, and a microcosm of the daily nonsense Gunner has inflicted on the Territory – although it’s nowhere near what the heavily-populated southern States have endured.

A handbag dog sniffing around the edges of the National Cabinet, desperate for a bit of #metoo and so manufacturing crises where there are no crises.

One of the main reasons vax rates are so low in some NT communities is not because the inhabitants are extremely well-informed on current events across the globe.

They are not urban fauxboriginals from Redfern or Fitzroy North. They are fullbloods, and I don’t want to unnecessarily disparaging here but they are an extremely superstitious people. To this day, in each skin group (extended-extended family unity) there is a ‘medicine man’, to be consulted on protocol and basic bush medicine – and there is a ‘spirit man’, who is avoided at all costs by pretty much everyone. Very, very influential punters.

These are people who start riots after local football finals because they hold the view that the spirit man of the skin group the opposing team is affiliated with put a spell on the ground, making their players miss the goals.

Hypothetically, if you have a group from one of the more remote desert communities causing trouble in the camps around one of the towns where grog is more readily available, if a person were to wander about that camp at three in the morning spreading chicken feathers about, then not long after dawn said troublemakers will be back in their troopies and out. This is because they will believe that ‘Featherfoot’, their version of the boogeyman is in town and looking for victims.

In terms of medicine – if they can see it (as you can see a bandage being applied), they will appreciate that this is a good thing. The same goes for stitches. If they can see and smell a leg or foot that has gone bad from diabetic gangrene, they will have no problem with doctors taking it off.

They understand, through generational experience that infants get needles because they identify the diseases they may otherwise contract as smallpox or measles – again, something with visible symptoms.

The fullblood countrymen spend half their lives wandering about with varying levels of colds, bronchitis and similar respiratory/chest/head ailments, particularly in the desert. Pneumonia gets the older ones in the end, just as it does whitey.

What they can’t see is the benefit obtained from a needle that (at this point) only goes into people old enough to either give birth or be initiated, and one promoted by a couple of whiteys they’ve never seen before with brand new wide-brimmed hats bought for the trip.

Natural suspicion combined with the abovementioned superstition is the reason, and that’s what Gunner and various other dills up here can’t get their head around.

This is what happens when the media is complicit in creating the narrative: if the story can’t get out it’s not a story.

Over the months I’ve watched Sky – on everything except for the virus the channel is reasonable and sometimes excellent. But on Covid and especially on the clot shots, as soon as discussion turns to side effects or to those people who bring up illnesses that have become apparent in some people from the vaccines, the presenter/journalist seems intent on refusing to discuss and will even close down the interview.

Even on PML the other night, Murray made a big deal of his guest’s (Campbell Newman discussing a close family friend and an adverse reaction) acknowledgement that the connection of one status to the other status – having a vaccine and becoming unwell – “may” not be cause and effect.

Murray has never struck me as a “grammar/language nazi” so his deliberate focus on the word “may” and reinforcement of its contingent status in Newman’s account seemed contrived.

But if words like “may” have become a thing for “presenters,” everything else, including Michael Gunner’s “I make no apologies for [insert subject matter here],” seems even less conspicuous.

We are all definitely fighting something which is wide ranging and far reaching. For when people like Murray and Gunner become fixated of minor words – “may” and whether a person who is vaccinated, yet does not support lockdowns, can be called an “anti-vaxxer” – there is more going on than we’d like to think.

COVID Madness Continues Down Under – Australia Northern Territory Use Army to Force People Into Quarantine
November 22, 2021 | Sundance

All vaccine hesitant citizens are considered enemies of the state and now subject to arrest if they voice any objection.

Here is a comment on CTH on this issue.

The person thinks it’s about the mining:

“Theory from my Aboriginal brother’s & sister’s in remote communities is that the aim is to force people out of their communities, that the vaccines are going to be used to ‘kill’ off the elders. Once that happens, the song lines, the stories and connection to ‘country’ will be lost & therefore Native Title, which protects sacred sites from mining and gives ownership of the land to the Aboriginal people will be extinquished.”

Minister,

It has been reported that Australian Defence Force personnel are being used domestically to assist in the arrest of (forced removal from their homes) and transportation of citizens of the Northern Territory to “Quarantine Facilities” concentration camps (let us know them and call them what they are – we are well past political spin as obfuscation).

Can you confirm that:
1. This is true;
2. You are aware of this;
3. You support and have approved this;
4. If true, Australian Defence Force personnel have been counselled, or had the opportunity to be counselled by qualified legal advisers, that these actions are unethical, immoral, and constitute Crimes Against Humanity;
5. A plea of ignorance and/or affirmation of “just following orders” is not a legitimate defence;
6. You, your colleagues, the Australian Defence Force chain of command, and all complicit bureaucrats and officeholders are prepared to defend their actions and/or inactions at any subsequently convened tribunal that is instituted to deliver justice for wanton Crimes Against Humanity.

Do you understand the grave seriousness of this situation?

Yep, thats pretty close to the mark in western societies – and thats before deleting all the younger ‘died withs’ who were reported as ‘died ofs’.

The great majority of real covid deaths are nursing home residents – who have a 40% annual death toll anyway.

Mater, your infographic says 83 is the median, I’m interested in the mean, but the argument works with the median too. So the number of ppl aged over 90 who died of covid is pretty much equal to the number aged less than 76. Which isn’t many.

DrBeauGan
DrBeauGan
November 23, 2021 2:29 pm

I also note that the median age of covid death is pretty nearly the same as the mean life expectancy before the alleged pandemic. So WuFlu has had negligible effect on the population. By the official government numbers.
