13 days out from the Willoughby bye election in NSW and the Electoral Commission has managed to count nearly 40,000 of the 55,000 eligible votes.
Only one in three voters turned up on the day or voted early.
Probably one in ten didn’t bother to vote at all, based on the record.
Today was the cutoff for receipt of postals.
That leaves tomorrow’s final count of up to 10,000 votes to conclude proceedings.
Early votes went 5:4 to the Libs.
On the day votes were split 50:50.
The two postal vote counts show an increased Lib margin of nearly 2% of all counted votes.
About 13% of all votes exhausted. ie no preferences marked for either of the last 2 candidates standing.

My comments on the above;
The COVID election legislation enabling up to 100% postal voting was bullshit.
Will there be a late anti govt swing with tomorrow’s count?
Have the Feds passed similar legislation? If they have it threatens to make mockery of the upcoming Fed. election if the result is close.
