Despite what you see in the movies, modern methods of interrogation are more about psychology and less about violence and pain. It aims to maximise the ‘shock of capture’ (which is always an unbalancing experience), and build on that through complete disorientation and disconnection from reality. This they do in order for you to do what ever they say, tell them whatever they want to hear. You become a pathetic, malleable wreck.
Methods vary slightly, but the basics remain constant. They remove your ability to see (blackened goggles). They remove your ability to hear (earmuffs). They constantly bombard you with loud, pointless white noise (probably Metallica). At regular, but sporadic intervals, they make you do stupid, random activities on command (One drum beat, stand up. Two beats, spin around three times and touch your nose, etc). They put you in an uncomfortable resting position between pointless activities. There’s much more, but you get the picture.
Essentially, all these things are combined together to make you lose touch with reality…and it works. In not so very long, without vision and hearing to anchor your reality, you’ll start seeing some of the strangest stuff (pink elephants, a common sense leftie, etc). You’ll start believing anything, perhaps nothing. You’ll start doing exactly as requested, and there’s not a damned thing you can do about it. Limits of resistance to this treatment vary, but everyone has them.
Does anyone see the point of this post? Can you recognise the method? The ‘shock of capture’? The removal of normality and those things that anchor your reality? The constant white noise? The random, stupid, pointless activities on command (masks on, masks off, eat indoors, stand outdoors, etc)?. The constant uncertainty. Most importantly…the end result?
I’ve observed that the one thing that has been missing throughout this entire Covid episode is perspective. You know, when they tell us that two people have died of Covid today, they fail to mention that 3000 people die weekly in Australia…that sort of thing. I don’t believe that it’s an oversight, and it seems to have worked.
Whenever you see statistics about today’s Covid results, you can no longer see yesterdays. You lose perspective and calibration, and you start to see strange things.
To counter this dearth, I have put together a video of every daily Infographic released by the Government since 5 April 2020, up until the 2 September 2021. It’s a bit rough in places due to changing formats, scales, etc, but it does provide a really good overview of the event, and helps with perspective. Pay particular attention to the vertical middle section which includes (top to bottom) the Daily Cases, the Case Numbers by Age and Sex, and the Deaths by Age and Sex. The consistency of the profiles is of particular interest. Remember them when they tell you Delta is attacking the younger more. They don’t really change. The young have consistently had the higher case numbers, and the old have consistently been the one’s to die…almost exclusively. The median age of cases is 34 years old, the median age of death from Covid is 86.

From the start to present day. The “x” axis would be time, with key markers – alpha and succeeding mutations, environmental changes such as lockdowns and the like. The “y” could be represented by raw numbers, or as a per population unit.
It would be fascinating then to compare Australia to a chart of a country with no lockdowns.

COVID is literally nothing to worry about.
Whatever your age, you nearly always have something more important to worry about.
This is important.
We have already heard repeatedly the platitude whispered almost like a prayer when some coof-vaccinated person falls ill, or even dies: It would have been worse if he/she had not been vaccinated.
Of course there is no way of knowing that. It might be true. It might not. Certainly we cannot compare the vaccinated and unvaccinated cases side by side.
This is how the lockdowns will be sold after they finish. We will be told that even given the economic destruction, the psychological damage, the emotional cost, the social impact, and so on, we will be told that it was better than if there had been no lockdown.
While we cannot compare the alternative case in total, the alternative case has parts and they can be compared and assessed.
The bungling and mismanagement of the coof has been monumental. They have treated the near risk-free 30 year olds like the higher risk 80 year olds. Each lockdown, lifted when numbers reach a certain level has been followed by a spike justifying another lockdow – clearly they do not work as advertised. The focus on cases rather than hospitlisations, orders of magnitude higher, used to cow the population rather than allowing the disjoint in scale to allay fear. The refusal to consider alternative treatments based on deliberately dishonest and deceptive reports from compromised agencies when real world efficacy has been on display in entire nations.
And on it goes.
Small people have been allowed to into office that have magnified their power far beyond anything they ought to have been trusted with. We should put them under a microscope.
And again, after the lockdowns are over, we should look for a vaccine ameliorate the symptoms that they are. Term limits, recalls, reigning in the public service and its unelected, faceless, and shameless mandarins, and all backed up with real consequences including dismissals, prison, and taxidermy.
Any objective analysis of the data will enable anyone with some semblance of a functioning brain to put all this panic stricken idiocy in perspective.
Bat flu is not any kind of existential threat, but the responses to it most certainly have been.
BTW, when do those stupid chinese communist bastards get held responsible for this disgraceful shambles? If Fatty Trump was still president there may have been some hope of it, but the chinese are under no illusions as to the uselessness of the current occupant of the White House. What an utter disaster that sham of an election was.
With regards the (behavioural) psychology behind of all this, I can recommend reading ‘A State of Fear’ by Laura Dodsworth. I picked up the recommendation on the old Cat I think – can’t recall who, but the book is a real eye opener.
Am I missing something? Andrews keeps talking about the imminent ‘Great Lockout’ (with barely concealed glee) but I’ve yet to hear anything about the vaccine passport that will be necessary to operate such a Lockout. No doubt it’s coming, but why aren’t they talking about it?
Australians may be a compliant lot but they’re generally not stupid. The propaganda may have worked for a while but the survey highlighted here yesterday confirms my sense that a majority of people are well and truly over it. They want the lockdowns to end and no discrimination against the unvaccinated. They’re prepared to live with covid rather than in fear of it. Note, for example, the fierce backlash against Palaszczuk last week, which has prompted her to reverse her stance and promise to open the QLD border once the National Cabinet’s vaccination target is reached. Public opinion is going to see the covid measures incrementally rolled back. Two cheers for democracy. The time of reckoning comes next.
Yeah, about that non-diagnostic PCR test… You’re right though. Did a fair bit of socialising over the weekend. Brainwashed, the lot. I think there are various sorts of sensory deprivation going on- Convid news to the near-exclusion of all else. Hotel quarantine. Home isolation. Absence of fresh air and sunlight. Reduced socialising. Yep, they’ve got the trifecta – physical, psychological, social isolation.
What happens next? This. When the tables have turned this will be the new Parly House and press club. I shall volunteer to work there and be in charge on ensuring that all the water bowls are in the sun all day and that only home brand dog foods are delivered.
And resisting your masked interrogator? – “Masks cause cancer. Didn’t you know that? Haven’t you even done a basic internet search for the harmful effects of mask wearing? You do know what the “EO” on the side of the box is, don’t you?” Turn the tables.

Good post- very much on attempt to put people in a state of constant anxiety and uncouple people from reality. Can happen to anyone spending to much time at home and not engaging with the world.

I number of people that I know of around my age ( coffin dodgers) have Ben vaccinated. Then hospitalised. Pneumonia, pluerisy, brand new heart and circulatory problems, crippling arthritis and this is just from memory of those I’ve heard from or of.
I wonder if there is some sort of pattern emerging?
By the way, I proved quite resistant to interrogation. However if anybody did torture me they’d have to punch me in the mouth to make me shut up.
The bus stop I pass on the way to my wine shop has been showing there ads encouraging people to get the jab.
Yesterday it was one about how more people dies from lawn mowing accidents than have dies from the AZ vaccine.
It is amusing, I suppose. And it really is a fact that the number of people who have been killed by the vaccine is small – we aren’t talking one-in-ten or something.
But it glosses over the stuff I would really want to know. Things like what is the distribution of people who have died from it? Age groups? Sex? Physical condition? And so on.
Also, I am a little miffed by the dishonesty where dying with Covid counts as a covid death while counting as a vaccine death is only counted after an exhaustive investigation that excludes all other options. These numbers therefore are not comparable. And they know it.
Look, if I end up taking the vaccine I do not expect I will die. But I don’t like being played by people who are so transparent. Bugger ’em.
My apologies if someone has already mentioned this and I’ve skipped past it, but let’s not forget that there are three sub categories to the definition of what constitutes a ‘case’ the third being ‘Confirmed.’ How many of the publicly-announced ‘cases’ have progressed from ‘Suspected’* to ‘Confirmed?’ If an announcement is made of 100 new cases, and only, say, 15 of those progress to become Confirmed Cases, the remaining 85 negatives still contribute to the propaganda, though they were ghost cases.
* I think there is a slight difference in wording between the WHO definitions and the definitions here in the Chookshed.
