TERFs & TERMs share a common cause

Everyone more or less knows what LGBTQ stands for. Anything after Q is a different matter. I put a plus sign generally. Also I don’t quite know what Q adds when you already have L and G. There it is, my insights into the sexual-revolutionary world in which we now live is limited. However, I am a little ahead of the game I think when it comes to the term, and true acronym, TERF.

I asked several of my friends whether they knew what TERF stands for. None did. A new one on me, was the common reply. And this is surprisingly because, according to Wikipedia, the term goes all the way back to 2008. I even asked the young woman manning (or is that ‘personning’) the front desk at my club’s gym and a young woman who had stopped to talk to her. Neither knew. But I know what it stands for. Very recently, for example, I saw a news clip of transgender people slinging off at TERFs. I think one said that they should be punched in the face. Hmm?

Anyway, I have invented a new acronym to complement TERF. It is TERM.  This stands for trans-exclusionary radical masculinist. Why the need for such an acronym, you might ask. It comes down to this. I don’t want ‘pretend men’ with vaginas invading the male dressing room at my gym when I’m in a state of undress. I had a recent experience in hospital of showering with tubes coming out of my arms and nose accompanied by a young (biological for the avoidance of doubt) female nurse. Not to put too fine a point on it, I didn’t look my best and suffered, in the aftermath, a mild case of PTSD; which, for those not in the know, means post-traumatic stress disorder.

I should make it clear. I haven’t so far found any transgender men; which, in case you don’t know, are people with cervixes and wombs and other female bodily parts, entering my gym, at least while I have been there; or, if they did so enter, they must have been covered up.

Incidentally, I’m not transphobic. That is to say, in the sense of disliking people who have decided to comport themselves as the sex opposite to their biological sex. Live and let live, I say. However, I am transphobic when it comes to any  invasion of my dressing room by those of the opposite sex, in whatever guise, in the sense that it brings back my PTSD.

How women feel about ‘pretend women’ with male appendages entering their dressing rooms, I can’t say first hand. Not a woman. But I guess they might find it discomforting and disconcerting, not to say intimidating and alarming. Hence the rise of TERFs. I’m not absolutely sure that TERFs and TERMs would share a lot in common. But strict segregation of dressing rooms would be a shared cause. Though as for sports, I tend to doubt that TERMs would object to transgender men competing against them in the same way that TERFs object to transgender women. There’s an asymmetry in that respect. An asymmetry too because so far as I know transgender men (to wit, people with vaginas, in case you’ve forgotten) have thus far not forced their way into men’s sports; and insisted on competing. Strange that. Cos they are men, aren’t they?

The Q IS the problem. Trans “theory” springs from Queer “theory”. The Q are the radicals pushing past what we would regard as the bounds of decency.

May I refer you any of James Lindsay’s excellent videos on the topic.

I read this morning that Rugby Canada is allowing trans into men’s teams, contrary to the stance of other countries. Good luck with that. You may applaud their consistency if not their sanity:)

BTW at church can you find the name of the hyme with the line “We are children of thy freemen who sleep beneath the sod.”

Back on topic, what about the legendary Queen Boadacia (aka Woadacia) of England who may have led troops into battle wearing little else apart from woad. May be an urban myth.

Major earthquake rocks WA, according to Macca’s caller.

Obviously, Rainbow Serpent upset at reversal of the Indidge Heritage Laws.

(Yes, listening to Macca and don’t care who knows)

No offence rate but boudica was never a queen in England. She was the queen of the iceni inancient Britain. They were the pretani. Whence the word Britain comes from. They were NOT English.

It’s interesting that #metoo is getting #metooed by trannies. I fondly recall the Highlander movie: there can be only one! I wonder who that one will be, TERFs, trannies or, more likely, muslims.

LGBTQWERTY?

Appropriately enough, it was Andy Warhol who declared, many decades ago, the by the end of the century (20th), everyone will have been famous for fifteen minutes”.

As for the current century?

Funny, it never bothered on the many occasions when a female nurse saw me (a male) nude in hospital.
I only felt uncomfortable on the one occasion when it was a male nurse.

Having said that, I can absolutely understand a female not wanting to be seen nude by any male, except possibly a doctor.

Having on more than one occasion been laid out nude on an operating table while a mixed male/female team conducted angiograms and angioplasty, fully conscious, with only the X-ray screen next to my face to distract me, I must admit that my physical appearance was far from my mind, as was the biological sex of those working on me.

I can’t say I really care one way or the other about girls/women wanting to share a changing room with me (though I’d possibly question their taste and/or sanity)…but I really cannot come sharing with at the proselytising Woke.

And if you want to know how I’d know…it’s the same process as identifying Vegans.

I prefer the Jeremy Clarkson term “BLT+”
At least bacon, lettuce and tomato plus makes some sense.

The GB News show Headliners had an item the other night about how a survey showed a vanishingly small percentage of the UK population knew the true meaning of ‘trans x’ in that they thought the term only applied to those with their plumbing modified surgically.

Of course that confusion was probably the intention of the terminology.

  2. Huh. The face of the Statue of Liberty is that of Isabella Eugenie. Isabella Eugenie Boyer’s face inspired the design…
