“The reality is that we can’t live in lockdown forever. We have to live with Covid and that means getting vaccinated as quickly as possible.” Reportedly, said Josh Frydenberg, taking aim on Monday at Australians who refuse to get the jab. Of course, name most every politician and their media cheerleaders from the left or right and you get the same message. It’s a message that they’ve changed in unison.
At first it was, get the jab or put others at risk. That’s still there waiting to be pulled back out, but it’s lost its lustre now that we know that those vaccinated catch the virus and pass it on. In an impressive sleight of hand, they’ve shifted ground. If you don’t get vaccinated you are responsible for the continuing lockdown, which they’ve imposed.
So, let me get this straight. Everyone who’s vulnerable and who wants the jab has had the jab. They are protected from serious illness. Lots of other people who didn’t really need the jab, have had it anyway. Lots of other people who don’t need it, haven’t had it. Both lots of people can catch the virus and pass it on. Yet, we must stay locked down until more people, who don’t want or need it, have had it, to join those who equally didn’t need it, but have had it. I think that’s right.
Can anyone with an intact brain explain what’s going on?
