I seem to remember that they did something similar to the skate park in Venice Beach in California. Bulldozers drove up and buried the park in sand. Within a few days the kids dug it out.
I have far more respect for my grandkids’ generation than I do for our leaders.

Ah this reminds me of a life growing up in country Vic when many of us kids (and adults) built bike jumps by the river. Sadly the council come down without any warning and flattened our tracks and jumps with a bobcat.
When we inquired why they would do such a thing, they replied because of the environmental impact on the area.
Safe to say the bobcat didn’t harm any vegetation as it was plowing over our months of hard work.
Great to the kids stick it to them.
