Things you could not make up

Kerry and Biden, the gift to China that just keeps giving.

Xie said Beijing and Washington would work together on emissions reductions, and share technology and expertise on clean energy, decarbonisation and electrification to achieve the goals of the Paris Agreement.

In 2020, according to The Guardian, the FBI identified Chinese technology theft as the biggest law enforcement threat to the USA.

Now, thanks to John Kerry, China no longer needs to steal anything, because Kerry has offered to give the technology away.

All Chinese agents need to do, if they see a piece of US exceptionalism they want to grab, is get on the phone to Kerry, and demand Kerry include whatever technology or knowhow China wants in the new climate technology sharing agreement.

Hundreds of articles published in peer-reviewed journals are being retracted after scammers exploited the processes for publishing special issues to get poor-quality papers — sometimes consisting of complete gibberish — into established journals.

Elsevier is withdrawing 165 articles currently in press and plans to retract 300 more that have been published as part of 6 special issues in one of its journals, and Springer Nature is retracting 62 articles published in a special issue of one journal. The retractions come after the publishers each issued expressions of concern earlier this year, covering hundreds of articles.

Many of the papers were from authors based at Chinese institutions, and most contained nonsensical phrases that Elsevier thinks came from the use of reverse-translation software to disguise plagiarism.

  1. It must have upset Kerry when his Vietnamese mates smacked China.

But at least he has a French Chateau where he and Macron can party in peace.

Maybe Emperor Xi can drop in and they can discuss globul warmening to their mutual benefit.

Perhaps E-Xi will let the Kerry appoint Chinese Catholic Bishops?

Every “paper” ever written about gerbil worming consists almost entirely of “nonsensical phrases”, leavened with generous smatterings of bovine manure.

  5. The triumphalist MSM reporting on the US-China announcement overlooks something that any Australian should know very well from China’s punitive trade sanctions: the solemn assurances of the Chinese Communist Party regime and their treaty commitments are not worth the paper they are written on.
