Christopher Ecclestone was pretty good. David Tennant’s run is the one people remember the most- Absolute high watermark of writing and production value. The BBC did a very good movie-length dramatization in 2013 on how Dr Who got going with Bill Hartnell as the first doctor. Well worth watching if you can get it:

If you’re paying upwards of $30k a year you tend to acquire a deep interest in such things, particularly what crap to avoid like the plague. There is value in shelling out, but it doesn’t appear in all its glory until school is over. It’s also a product of home training and nurturing (rather than “best friending”), but if that meshes with values and structure instilled at school you end up with a fairly acceptable result.
