Irony is the second casualty of war

Searched but haven’t found anything. Irony is hard to find in wartime; most particularly among the Left. That covers, among others, most politicians and mainstream media pundits.

Morrison is in high dudgeon over the Solomon Island security pact with China. A grave concern echoed in the United States.  Cameron Stewart, writing in the Australian, quoted Biden’s top adviser on Asia as warning that it was an unwelcome strategic surprise. Not so surprising, but never mind.

Here are, some of the adjectival phrases thrown out by Stewart in the space of a few words: bombshell plan, worst fear, giant strategic and diplomatic dilemma, deeply disturbing development.

I understand that the Solomon Islands are around 2000 kilometres from Australia.  A Chinese military base, if built, which it will be let’s face it, will give China, according to experts quoted by Cameron: “unprecedented ability to eavesdrop along Australia’s eastern coast, monitor naval and air force movements and – in time of conflict – disrupt communications and supply lines.”

On the other hand, NATO in Ukraine, zero kilometres from Russia, would offer no strategic threat to Russia. Any such fears on the part of Russia are without merit. In fact, many commentators like Ergas and Sheridan dismiss the thought that Russia might be motivated by concerns about NATO. That, according to them, is simply a pretext for Tsarist-like aggression.

Those with the temerity to suggest that Russia might be concerned about NATO are Putin puppets. Those who are sympathetic to Zelensky and who believe Putin to be a thug but who nevertheless think that the encroachment of NATO might be a contributing cause of the conflict are also Putin puppets. In fact, anyone who doesn’t hero worship Zelensky and despise Putin as a war criminal and blame him entirely for the unprovoked military aggression is, you guessed it, a Putin puppet. Anyone who tries to look objectively at the conflict and at the state of the war and who thinks it might be necessary to give Putin something to end the war and the suffering is, of course, a Putin puppet.

When will Russia and China understand that we are the good guys and they are the bad guys. Our spying is for the common good theirs nefarious.

Zelenskyy was named in the Panama Papers [along with a few Aussies].
He’s a thief.

Cameron Stewart, writing in the Australian, quoted Biden’s top adviser on Asia as warning that it was an unwelcome strategic surprise.

A surprise the Australian HC in Honiara was warned of at least a year ago courtesy the local Opposition leader.

Who dropped the ball? Is anyone in the Oz media asking that question?

Cameron Stewart

A z-grade dumbocrat talking points low info imbecile. One of the many reasons I ditched my Oz subscription.

Stewart was jobsacked (finally) because the Creighton was actually capable of filling the role.

Such as it is.

In about 2012, I sailed west out of Freo Harbour. Not far into international waters was a chinese satellite tracking ship at anchor. They weren’t ordering a number 42 special fried rice.

Western spies are doing their utmost to oust Orban in Hungary.

Of course they are, they can’t stand any politician doing the right thing by his country. There are so few of them that they stand out when only a decade or so ago the ones who didn’t were the standouts.

Thanks Peter, I was only thinking the same sentiments earlier this evening. Russia, despite being invaded nine times out of ten by armies from the west, isn’t allowed to be worried about NATO on its western doorstep and isn’t allowed to be worried about US corruption in the Ukraine, a country on its border, its immediate neighbour. However, Australia is now outraged by a near neighbour signing a special deal with China. The hypocrisy is staggering.

“Western spies are doing their utmost to oust Orban in Hungary.”

A democratically elected government…but you see, the US under the Sniffer, the EU, Soros and the left loathe Orban.

Scott Ritter gives a one month update to the Ukrainian situation
https://m.soundcloud.com/user-918579032/ukraine-war-scott-ritter#c=709
Also latest analysis (not Ritter’s) seems to indicate that Russian troops involvement up to this stage was only around 50 Regiments i.e 50/60,000.
Although with their 2nd Phase approaching to annihilate the Donbass pocket this looks like it will increase significantly

Russia has around 300 billion stolen by the US from its financial reserves. Demonstrates to the whole world how trustworthy the US is. (Iran, Afghanistan, Venezuela, Libya concur lol). Russia steals 800 western jet aircraft as part compensation, transfers to its own registry and insures them for internal flights only. Cheap jer fuel included no doubt. I guess the jets will work until sanctioned parts run out. Boom in jet aircraft manufacturing for both blocs expected.

Yes the Solomons deal is a completely outrageous unprecedented tipping point.

Quite unlike what the west gets/got up to in Okinawa, Guam, Diego Garcia, Christmas Island, Hong Kong etc and in most Embassies globally. The excited finger pointing is a bit rich.

Russia has around 300 billion stolen by the US from its financial reserves. Demonstrates to the whole world how trustworthy the US is

This is one of the biggest own-goals by the US. All trust from China Russia, India (and other nations who not part of the failing West) is now gone in the current international monetary system. This will speed up SWIFT and Western collapse with a replacement by a Russian-Chinese-Indian system now being built.
Today, Russia are now only accepting payments for their gas in rubles to their bank. The Europeans refuse to pay, and so the gas gets switched off.
The Europeans must do the bidding of their US masters, even if it means punching itself in the face. Now the West is starting to reap what it sows, but the elite and many of those we know will grind their teeth in suffering and blame it on those damn evil Ruskies: How dare they cause my gas prices to rise, my food to become scarce and my family to freeze!

The level of blindness is insane.
