‘Al Qaeda Is on Our Side’: How Obama and Biden Aided Our Enemies in Syria
Jake Sullivan is Old Joe Biden’s National Security Advisor, and it’s clear from a revealing piece published in RealClearInvestigations Wednesday that he is just as wrongheaded, in over his head, and incapable of putting the interests of the American people first as the rest of the Biden team. In a lengthy investigative article, journalist Aaron Maté establishes that “Obama officials now back in office under President Biden coordinated with the j@hadist franchise in an effort to topple the Syrian regime – while claiming they backed only the ‘moderate opposition.’” Sullivan was one of the foremost of those officials, and now he and others are back, having learned nothing.
Maté noted that “in waging a multi-billion dollar covert war in support of the insurgency against Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, top Obama officials who now serve under Biden made it American policy to enable and arm terrorist groups that attracted jihadi fighters from across the globe. This regime change campaign, undertaken one decade after Al Qaeda attacked the U.S. on 9/11, helped a sworn U.S. enemy establish the Idlib safe haven that it still controls today.” In the course of this wrongheaded campaign, Sullivan, who was then Director of Policy Planning, wrote to his boss, then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, “AQ [Al Qaeda] is on our side in Syria.”

US politics operate at a much higher temperature than Australian politics. What seems like the end of the world here is mere banter there.

Yes, they’re fundamentally insane, Zip.
MMT suggests the following: because the government owns the printing press it can distribute as much currency as it wants without any concerns. While it’s true that the central bank can produce unlimited currency this doesn’t mean there aren’t any consequences.
MMT is basically a way for the government to spend money. It’s a spending lever and not a monetary management one. Hence, it would be a recipe for hyperinflationary disaster.
What happens is that the government decides to spend x amount. It creates the bonds and the central banks carries the paper on its balance sheet while simultaneously crediting the government’s account with the equivalent in cash. The government then takes the money and does what it wants. This is South American economics.
QE is much different. The central bank buys bonds in the open market ( through a reverse auction) and then credits the sellers with the funds. The attempt is to raise nominal GDP by liquefying the system. The big difference is that markets trust the central bank not to turn this into a permanent printing operation. This is why there is no hyperinflation.
Why does Australia send taxpayers money to India for ‘aid’? India has a space program and we send them money?
We’re hoping the embarrassment Juliar’s slip-up caused will one day be forgotten ..

Foreign aid is not about assisting the needy.
It’s one way of exercising soft power; in other words, buying influence which will help you to achieve your foreign policy goals through cooperation rather than by applying coercive means.
Some, though not all. Most of it has been caused by the Fed. Ironically, the Fed chairman was Trump’s choice and he was confirmed for a second term by Demented.
The Fed should have tightened last year, it didn’t and is now way behind.

Until about middle of last year.. For the past 20 years or so the major western central banks lost credibility. They lost credibility because they systematically kept the inflation rate below their target.
We didn’t have hyperinflation because hyperinflation only ever shows up when punters lose complete confidence believing the central bank will continue printing to infinity. No one believes that of the western central banks.

Channel 9 and the secret mission man:
Forgotten digger sent on secret mission pleads for recognition and support
By Brady Halls
On this Anzac Day there is one digger who won’t be celebrating.
“It ruined my life,” John Ali said, from his South Australian home.
“There’s not a day goes past that I don’t remember it all. I lived it from 11 at night until seven in the morning. Bombings and shooting happened all night long.”
You’d think any serviceman who witnessed such action would be remembered and rewarded for his service to the nation.
Not Mr Ali, even though his tour of duty was much longer than any other soldiers.
You see, Mr Ali was enlisted to undertake a secret operation – one that only now is coming to public notice.
As the war was deteriorating in Vietnam, neighbouring Cambodia was being infiltrated by communist insurgents and the pro-Western government was struggling.
So the Americans and Australians undertook a secret mission.
“I was sent to Canberra with six others to meet then Army Minister Malcolm Fraser,” Mr Ali said.
“He told us this was a secret mission and we could only tell immediate family.
“Under the American and Australian constitutions we were not allowed to conduct operations in a neutral country like Cambodia.”
So Mr Ali signed the Secrecy Act and was shipped out to Vietnam and on to Cambodia with his team.
Mr Ali was not a serviceman and nor were his co-workers – they were civilians. They worked for a trucking company making international harvester vehicles.
“Because we make good trucks and our close proximity to south-east Asia, the Americans wanted our trucks to be used as troop carriers. They wanted 600 of them,” Mr Ali said.
So these young men were given a weapon, were under military command and paid in US dollars to drive, transport and maintain the troop converted trucks in Cambodia.
“But they didn’t say we would see war,” Mr Ali said.
And 50 years on he is still suffering PTSD from his experience.
“Some days are terrible. I just can’t forget it,” Mr Ali said.
He is the last forgotten digger, as his comrades have now died.
He has some Vietnam veterans supporting him in his efforts to be recognised for his duty even though he was a civilian.
“He did his duty and he did as much as any soldier,” Adrian Walford said.
“We managed to get some medals for him, but over the last 18 years we have not been able to get his entitlements – like a pension and health care – that other enlisted personnel get.”
Mr Ali has some serious health issues and needs medical help.
We contacted the Minister for Veterans’ Affairs Andrew Gee who told us that he is investigating Mr Ali’s file, but given the government is in caretaker mode with the upcoming election, there is little he can do.
But he assured us, “after the election I will meet with John and explore any avenues to help”.
After 18 years, Mr Ali said he can wait a little longer.

There was a very light hearted moment in the ANZAC service my choir was singing at this morning. The local sea scouts had each prepared an account of one of nine Australian VC winners who are commemorated with street names in a nearby estate.
Tiniest scout, barely two feet tall, a flaming red head, need help to climb up onto a milk crate in order to reach the microphone. He gave a very well researched, beautifully spoken summary of the life of Lt. William (Rusty) Ruthven including details of his personal and professional life and the reasons for being awarded the VC.
And then, he mentioned that the ANZAC Day grudge match between the Bombers and the Magpies is played to remember the men like Ruthven that went to war. Of course, he went on with the cheekiest smile, Lt. Ruthven would definitely have been a Collingwood supporter given that Collingwood was where he was born.
Absolutely charmed the socks off everyone. Even the Essendon supporters.

When I looked, there was the normal gibber but not an ad to be seen.
I even paid attention this time
Yep. Those of us with ad blockers installed never see any adverts on any site.
Not Twitter, Youtube, newspaper websites, news websites, not anything.
PS.
dont wast yr time with a fake pressure nozzle
get yrself a cheap pressure washer from aldi
or pony up for a kaarcher
you’ll have a hard-on for a week
It was cheap, Matrix. And I bought it for the other house. I have Karcher, but the thing broke down and it’s only a few years old.
Indolent
That’s without doubt the only decent link you’ve posted here for the post 6 months.
o-rings
The tank has to be refilled with petrol.
After that, it’ll probably run again.
I spent around 6 or 7 hundi on it and the thing’s fucked. It leaks water and the motor is in constant rev motion. You’re welcome to repair it. 🙂
It’s a plug in.
like I said, o-rings
go into Mitre10 and the prolly give you one for free ya tight-arse
Indolent’s piece is really worth reading. A weak or Russian collapse is terrible thing for the West.

omfg … I know whats wrong with yr karcher on a blog
the other day the missus is having a Zoom meeting with all the other post-grad PhD types and I’m making toast in the kitchen listening to them all talk braille
the subject is tradies
“they’re all drunk idiots”, says one of them, “do your own wiring and plumbing”
I walked out spitting toast crumbs, “I am NOT drunk … yet”
TAFE and uni really must be the same.
Bardot!
Jisus!
They broke the mould.
I had a Karcher shit itself too.
The repair bloke showed me the faulty part (a plastic elbow).
Cracked along the outer radius.
New part had a beefed up spine where the failure was to prevent it happening again.
Someone saved heaps by shaving 0.045 cents worth of plastic off the original design.
Matrix
Fix it for me. 🙂
Um, have these people discussed this plan with their insurers?
to a point that’s true
you don’t really need Laplace to install a down-light
or an o-ring
Sanchez
Where did you get it repaired.
I had a guy clean my roof tiles a while back.
He offered me one of his old pressure cleaners for a couple of hundred bucks.
All brass fittings and top grade hoses.
Don’t know why I didn’t take it.
Except it was petrol and it made a yuuuge racket.
Check your email!
fuck off, a few minutes ago you were gonna give me the whole machine.
I can email you an o-ring
seriously though my pressure washer had the same issue.

Mate next door — hobby farmer — wanted a pressure washer for cleaning stuff on the farm, so he bought a decent petrol one on a sort of trolley arrangement. Using it to clean the driveway bricks at home and accidentally stuck his free hand in the stream … 16 stitches later …

you can buy small machines … I want one
ABC takes action against biased reporter!
They found one who doesn’t sing to the lefty tune… she must be exorcised.
ABC Weekend Breakfast presenter Fauziah Ibrahim has “taken a break from on-camera duties” while the broadcaster is “reviewing recent social media activity” by her that may constitute a breach of its recently updated guidelines.
Ibrahim, one of the hosts of the ABC TV news program from 7am on Saturdays and Sundays, was absent from the show at the weekend following revelations that her personal Twitter account contained a couple of so-called “shitlists” that appeared to indicate disdain for some of those on the Labor side of politics.
In the name of equalidy the same should apply to women who hunt the husbands of other women.
But good luck with any of that. People who are not properly adult, or who have no talent for marriage, should not enter into it. Perhaps that is the message that should be driven home, not all of this Mills and Boon garbage about ‘self-actualisation’ within marriage or the search for it outside marriage.
Marrige is hard work. Best advice is to try to stick with it, with constant renewal via whatever you devise, especially if there are children. There is a lot of give and take and oh-so-subtle negotiation in marriage. It is not a competition but a co-operative endeavour that includes sex. Which is nice. If it isn’t, that’s worth talking about. There are as many different sorts of marriages as there are people who marry. Love is for the lucky ones, but love has many forms; the long-term satisfactions of enduring marriage are life’s unsung gift.
I’m singing for these.
