From what I can work out Higgins did not formally raise her allegation until 2021 when the incident happened 2 years earlier. Her Project interview was therefore 2 years after the event ! Wilkinson has appeared in public with her multiple times since then and highly praised her each time (ie. Womens March in March 2021).
How she can be a prosecution witness defies belief and in my view seems inappropriate for prosecution to think she can be.
Why wouldn’t she be an “appropriate” witness? I don’t know much about the case, but just going with the information you provided about the dried up old prune’s history with Higgins, the prosos would likely be using the old bint to describe the events at the time and if to her she sounded credible.

Your comment about money creation was laughable by the way. You’re a moron.

No, no need to correct my brother. How’s ‘tuth and Faulty going? : -)
JC,
As far as my knowledge of law goes Wilkinsons evidence would be only be admissible on the basis of an “early complaint”.
This normally relates to telling what happened soon after the event. A classic would be if she told the security guard next morning as she left the building. He could then back it up by describing her appearance when she said it.
If Wilkinson only told details 2 years later then my thought is it too long after the event. You have to wonder how many others she mentioned “rape” to prior to Wilkinson. From whenever known Wilkinson going to be a witness she should have no longer commented on Higgins at public events. Yet she has done so multiple times. No idea what Prosecution thinking and can’t see how Wilkinson can be a witness of anything. Even more so when there is a reason for her to be biased.
Defence Minister and a senior staffer were told something by her on the following Monday so that conversation very relevant.
Got ya dead Bird Shit JC.

There is not enough coverage of how much damage AMEO is is causing every part of the renewal stack.
The business model for all renewables is to be able to sell energy into the grid at elevated prices.

Re. Bandt, my main concern isn’t that he’s in parliament. The nature of democracy is that it has occasionally vomited up evil people, look at Hitler. No, what concerns me is that young men and women are voting, at every election in ever increasing numbers, for this contemptible and very nasty piece of shit and his comrades, just like people voted for Hitler.
We should be worried…and once again this signals an abysmal failure of right of centre politics, over the last few decades, to deal with propaganda in schools and to counter progressive nonsense. There is nothing “green” about Bandt and his comrades, their politics is blood red and given the opportunity if they were in charge, blood would flow in the streets.

It turns out that the rain “that would never fall, and if it did it would not fill the dams” has filled Blowering (the upper part of the current pumped hydro scheme) is so full that it can’t take enough to allow much additional output, while the watercourses downstream are so full that simple hydro generation must be limited to avoid flooding.

I have some confusion over what a witness is in Wilkinsons case.
Did she view the events (any part)?
Was she told directly after the event?
Was she told as part of her ‘journalistic” investigation?
If the bar for evidence is low enough that telling stories to a journo is considered evidence then we may as well do away with courts.

Ed Case,
As Rosie pointed out Higgins then asked AFP to not proceed with the case. The reasons for that will obviously be raised at trial. For whatever reason nearly two years later decided to go public and contacted Wilkinson. I may be wrong but wasn’t there talk she was expecting a promotion but that did not eventuate ? Since the cops already aware of the incident and she must have given a version of events then in no way is it possible for Wilkinson to be considered a witness to the actual incident based on Higgins telling her about it nearly two years later.
We won’t know what Wilkinson evidence is until it happens but her appearance is highly unusual.

1. The Crown may be calling Wilkinson at the request of the defence. The defence can then cross-examine her by leading questions (such as ‘this is what Higgins said to you is it not?’).
2.The point might be to reveal that what Higgins told her was inconsistent with what she said when she complained to Reynolds and others.
3. The judge might order that there never be a trial. This might be suitable to Higgins, inasmuch as her story will never be tested. OTOH, I suppose she might sue Luhrmann for assault in a judge alone trial, and the civil standard of proof applies (although still high given the allegations). If there’s no trial, Luhrmann should be compensated, but I can’t see a means to do so. Maybe an ex gratia payment from the government.
4. Wilkinson should be pursued for contempt of court, and the only effective punishment would be jail-time.

The only thing I can think of is Wilkinson testifying that the entire time she was involved with Brit that her story remained unchanged and that she was consistently emotionally distraught. I fear that Lisa’s researching skills will be as underdeveloped as her husband’s.
Perhaps we can get testimony like:
The Beloved did some research on panels and had 20 high-end ones installed on the east-west axis of the roof. Runs the pool equipment including the heater, house air-con and appliances in the daytime. No storage – the batteries are simply not cost effective. In the daytime, we are basically even on input output.
We have the panels cleaned annually. Many people think they can just put them up and not maintain them and so they lose efficiency.
That is all the “renewables” can achieve at present. And all they’re likely to achieve for the average punter. Only an idiot would think they could supply water, treat sewage and heat/cool the house at night, plus all the other drains on power.
Let me introduce you to Chris Bowen.
The rules of evidence might see some difference between the stories presented to the court and The Project.
No different to Dodgy Bros Builders then.
I said a similar thing to a green candidate at the last election. Live the life you demand of others and see what happens. Scurries away.

The parasites keep gorging themselves despite knowing it will kill the host.
I don’t think they’re that economically literate, Winston.
Like unionists who bleed a business dry with their demands and are surpised when it goes belly up.
You would hear the outraged howls on the Moon!
Energy Australia’s parent company announced yesterday that AEMO’s actions has cost the $A200mill from writing down hedging contracts to zero as they can not be effectively priced.
I’m sure there’s smoke & mirrors involved.
And no one should be crying over the losses one of the big 3 incur.
But imagine if you’re a genuine renewable business, your cash flow is 10-20mill a year.
You’re done.
No-one’s providing you credit.
Then the 100mill a year businesses…then on & then on.
I really don’t think AEMO or the government thought this through.
Too many decision makers thought that 44min episodes of the West Wing was a blue print on how to manage/regulate/bully industry.
QLD’s Energy Minister has already mooted that future renewables projects in the state will have to be “publicly owned”, i.e. funded by the tax payer.
Michael Smith news has a good breakdown on costs of Sydney Harbour Bridge flag.
Turtle on Sky News now gibbering about ruinables.
Has a mate Daniel Westerman CEO of AEMO trying to explain what his mob does.
Journalists Arts graduates (majoring in gender studies) can’t ask why ruinables can’t deliver.
Turtle made a stunning statement – we need more generation of electricity
No wonder we fucking drink!
An inadvertently brilliant piece of politics by the gliberals. Given that by September fuel will likely be significantly more expensive than it was before the excise cut, the screeching of outraged motorists will be audible in space.
The inevitable blowback against labore may see the excise cut extended, with jug ears presumably introducing more and higher taxes in his October mini-budget to compensate. Either way, labore will wear the ordure.
Calli:
Mine deliver power all night.
I use the Italian Mafia Model – run a genset powering a bank of fifteen 400w floodlights on them when the sun goes down. The AEMO asked some odd questions about my setup, but went away happy.
I’m expecting complaints from Marvin the Martian about the reflected light, but.
Calli my mate is off grid. He uses lead acid batteries that he got mostly free. He tested each one, cleaned them up and used a pulse charger to de-sulphate the ones that needed it. Roughly matched them by how well they started different vehicles. He has a cut-out so they can’t discharge below 12 volts not that it’s a problem as they are charged by an alternator run by the creek at the back of his house. Realistically it cost him peanuts, just time. Last time I was there the snow laying thick on the ground house too hot with floor to ceiling double glazing and a log burner heating a 400 ltr water tank that’s feed to in-slab poly piping.

Yes, maybe that is the aim of the Crown. Note though that the scope for the admission of, and the weight to be attached to prior consistent statements is more limited than evidence of a prior inconsistent statement.
Also, if Wilkinson gives this evidence for the Crown, she will face cross-examination as to whether she kept notes of her conversations (and if so, where are they), the circumstances of her contact with Higgins, her and her husband’s pecuniary interest in the conviction of Luhrmann.
If the trial ever gets going, it will be an entertainment.
How much a Key for the tomato leaves?
I suspect that he will wait until after his trial, then, win or lose, he will hit her for civil damages, either to his reputation if acquitted, or for prejudice to his chance of a fair trial if found guilty.
If he’s found guilty his chances are pretty slim.
Firstly, it’s not clear he’d even be allowed to bring such an action. There are rules of litigation to prevent matters being re-litigated over and over again outside the available appeals process for the original decision. They’re designed to stop a never ending series of actions where someone who’s lost a case brings actions against everyone in sight who was involved in the loss, then when those actions fail brings more suits against everyone involved in those actions, then when those suits fail, sues everyone involved in those suits, etc., etc., ad infinitum. Those rules may well stop him from basing an action on the basis of asserting that the conviction was wrong.
In any case, if he’s convicted he either:
(a) doesn’t appeal directly against the conviction (in which case he’d lose any subsequent action against Wilkinson on the basis that he failed to take available mitigating action and is therefore responsible for his own fate);
(b) appeals and loses (in which case he’d lose any subsequent action against Wilkinson on the basis that the appeal court had decided that, even taking into account Wilkinson’s antics, the conviction wasn’t unsound as a matter of law); or
(c ) appeals and wins – if he wins he may be able to establish some damages, e.g. at least his costs of having to run the appeal, but he still faces one big hurdle. Even if an appeal court stated outright that the conviction had to be overturned because Wilkinson’s performances raised a real risk of a prejudiced verdict, he’d still actually have to prove in his subsequent action that (on the balance of probabilities) he’d have been acquitted at trial had Wilkinson STFU. How’s he going to prove that short of getting the trial jurors to say “I voted to convict but if I hadn’t been aware of Wilkinson’s grandstanding I would have voted to acquit”? It’s not going to happen.
The problem is the Brahmin Class has become too big to be sustained by the Wukkas. All the fat in our society has gone to supporting the unproductive scammers, schemers and sterile drones who infest and clog the productive.
That’s the problem right there.
A booby trap will be sprung on Albo by September when the temporary cut in fuel excise expires.

Martin Armstrong of Armstrong Economics is expecting a barrel of oil to be over US$200 during 2023 sometime. Yikes………………………..
They can buy the ones that go broke for a knocked down price.

AEMO has blinked: suspension of the NEM will be lifted at 4:00am Thursday.
NFA having a drunken sook in the early hours …
Just checked.
Socialist Energy’s posts are still up 10 hours later.
I smell amateur trolling.
Very amateur.
“Dover. Get rid of anyone I deem to be Bird after a 750ml of Bombay Sapphire.”
AEMO has blinked: suspension of the NEM will be lifted at 4:00am Thursday.
If this happens, the renewables industry has a stay of execution.
If price spikes continue, renewables continue to be able to make major bank.
the circumstances of her contact with Higgins
That would home in on the role played by her swain, Sharaz, in lobbying all the leftoid news organisations to go big on the case.
How did this ex-journo do that?
By producing quite lavish press kits, including pics of Ms Higgins with Morrison that were cropped and ready for publication, thus pinning another ‘women’s issue’ on the Coalition being the overall game plan.
And just for good measure, Sharaz supplied those kits to his contacts on condition of anonymity.
People really need to see that the Greens are doe-eyed altruists with the best of intentions.
They are coming after you. After everything you like, after your family, after your future.
I remember hearing a Greenie acquaintance decrying all the evil that has been done in the name of ‘family’. I think she was frustrated (in Gillain Triggs fashion) that there were some things that would help the administration of a large state that the persistence of the family unit thwarted. But I think that at the point she was saying it she was overlooking due to ubiquity just how much the family benefits people within and without it, nurturing and shaping generations going back to even before the first villages and towns.
She would have been thinking of families like the Borgias, or the calculated pairing of monarchs – where they cease being families and instead become political dynasties.
Being a Green, the only thing she could see was the family as a manifestation of politics. Like looking at a card along its edge and not seeing the face value that makes up the game.
On Bandt/Thorpe:
Try as I might, I can’t get outraged at them about their flag performances. The box they came in was clearly marked ‘Deadshits’.
On the other hand, I’m rather disappointed in the retards that voted for them. Much more of a worry.
Yeah. I wrote my comment before I scrolled up and read yours – yours was far more comprehensive and to the point than mine.

I don’t think you’re taking me seriously.

What a massive ponzi. Everyone of these arseholes that claims that coal is uneconomic should be shot from a cannon into a brick wall.
Yes the Brittany media pack may make interesting reading. But maybe too much like a visit to a sausage factory. Some things are better left alone.
ABCcess was interviewing Melino(?) and he was frothing about all the new jerbs him and the bat eared Mong we’re creating by sticking kiddie kommisars in schools and the thousands of extra teachers they would need when they “ extend education” by a year.
I’m pretty sure doubting glorious leaders “ the message” will be a sign of mental illness needing correction.
Who’d a thunk it! ..
Apparently, if your a “maaate” ya gotta be “equipped” to go to gaol .. FFS!
