‘I’d take it with open arms’: But Warner to wait for captaincy ban ‘process’

David Warner would consider it “a privilege” to captain Australia in next year’s 50-over World Cup if the opportunity arose following the retirement of one-day captain Aaron Finch from the format.

Still under a lifetime leadership ban resulting from the Sandpapergate scandal in March 2018, Warner was heartened by Cricket Australia’s decision on Friday to commission a review of the code of conduct to allow for sentences to be commuted.

On recycling and why it will always be a fringe industry without massive government subsidy. An example:

The 82cm motherships have finally given up the ghost. Bent frames and seized zips from being drenched at the Galapagos and thumped around by Latam on our 2019 trip. Time to replace them.

American Tourister has an excellent range of soft shells called Applite. Reasonably tough, I’ve already broken in some mid sized ones (great for lugging onto trains) and they’ve stood up well to punishment. I find that there’s a newly released range called Applite Eco. The fabric is recycled PET. It is at least $30 more expensive per unit, two bags $60 +. There is no other difference between the products.

Sorry. I’m not paying more to virtue signal to baggage handlers.

Two elderly gentlemen from a retirement centre were sitting on a bench under a tree when one turns to the other and says “Slim, I’m 83 years old now and I’m just full of aches and pains. I know you’re about my age. How do you feel?” Slim says “I feel just like a newborn baby”. “Really!? Like a newborn baby!?” “Yep. No hair, no teeth, and I think I just pissed myself”.

Putin is Not the Madman – Biden is Just Senile

From Armstrong Economics –

“I feel sorry for you for those who believe the propaganda put out to justify a war that Putin is this madman. Be careful what you believe and wish for. You probably think the government really cares about you and your future. You probably still wear masks driving alone, or even when you sleep, and possibly a condom just in case for good measure.

There are those of us who have REAL contacts and who understand REAL geopolitics and the way governments create wars by filling the minds of their people that there are weapons of mass destruction. Now even a former MI6 agent has come out and said the same thing. You better be careful what you wish for. Putin was selected by Yeltsin BECAUSE he was not a Communist and was moderate. Yeltsin was under siege from the communists who did want to resurrect the USSR and the oligarchs who wanted to strip mine Russia for themselves. If Putin was a communist, Yeltsin and his family would have been in prison.

I have all the declassified documents from the Clinton Administration that CONFIRM that Putin was nothing that the propaganda is all about. He NEVER sought to resurrect the USSR. As far as the KGB, he was never high-ranking and quit in 1991 as soon as Russia fell. All of the comments put out there by John McCain were outright lies. I have the security briefing he read and said the opposite because he was a Neocon who just wanted endless wars.

So you can believe all the BS. They need you to do that to wage war and offer your life on their altar of political agendas. If you think you will be an armchair general and watch this war on CNN, sorry. It will come to a neighborhood near you. I just thank God I am not 18. The future these people want is total insanity. The Weimar Republic in Germany took place because it was a revolution against the imperial government that always waged war. We face the same fate when the people realize this has been a mountain of lies for a political agenda. When Zelensky came to power, he promised peace. He was then instructed by the West that was not acceptable. The West promoted the civil war in Ukraine.

It is the hardliners putting pressure on Putin because he has been “too soft” on Ukraine. Replace Putin and we will get World War III. Zelensky better pack his high-heels in an emergency exit bag.”

In the tardies, tard in tardtown news….

Miners must stop mining to continue mining…

by
Peter Milne
Business Journalist

Mining must dump oil and gas to pick up younger workers

On the other hand coal, oil and gas face a decline that is both inevitable and necessary. Sure, there are big projects being built now, like Woodside’s Scarborough and Santos’ Barossa gas export developments, employing thousands in construction. But these are the last push of a doomed business model: something to end your resume with before retirement, not start a career with.

This sort of spacicity is deserving of one of those ‘in a decades time” bets, where he bets his house and major useable organs that oil/gas/coal consumption will be lower globally rather than higher.

The 2022 study by the Pew Research Centre showed that climate concern in Australia was highest among the young, the highly educated and women: exactly the type of people Australian mining needs more of.
….
The resources tag combines the businesses with the most to gain from a well-managed brisk energy transition in Australia with the companies most invested in delaying change.

Kind of like cutting your todger off with a cleaver is better than doing it with an oxy torch?

“Why did a Jew hating Austrian move into a unit in Randwick? An odd choice considering the already well established demographic in the 80’s. Jews have been living in the ES long before the end of WWII.”

The big influx of Jews into the Eastern Suburbs happened after World War II, because it was affordable. These people were survivors from Europe. Bondi, Bronte etc. were not the well heeled suburbs they are now. Prior to World War II, there were sizeable Jewish communities in the western suburbs, there’s still a synagogue at North Parramatta.

As for a Jew hater living in Randwick, there are Jew haters everywhere, in every suburb, in every state, and in every country. I saw Alex Ryvchin interviewed on Outsiders yesterday, I have a lot of time for Alex, but it was nice to see the panel pick up a lapse on his part when he was talking about Islamist and far-right Jew hatred, the panel quickly reminded him of the pervasive Jew hatred found among the far-left and not so far-left. And the far-left and not so far left Jew hatred is disguised as “I’m not anti-Semitic, I’m just anti-Zionist, and as one fuckwit here infamously wrote “those who have legitimate grievances”.

“IQ peaked in the 1975 cohort. “

This is, of course, impossible.
When you do an IQ test (any one), the results are normalised such that average IQ of your sample is 100.
That is, by definition, what “IQ” means.
Should you wish to say that “intelligence” peaked at some point, that would certainly be possible, although I would be suspect if that is based on the results of any particular “IQ test”.
But not IQ – “average IQ” is always 100. By definition.

Good to see Jackson Warne doing well.

Jackson Warne opens up on the shock death of his cricket legend father Shane in a touching life update on social media (Sky News, 17 Oct)

Seven months on, Jackson took to Instagram on Sunday to share how he’s been coping in recent months.

“This year I could’ve easily gone down hill. I could’ve drank a lot of alcohol, gambled too much, quit the gym, ate shit food and not socialise. Be miserable,” the 23-year-old told his followers.

“But I didn’t. I didn’t because I used this trauma as energy for life. I surrounded myself with good people, went to the gym EVERY DAY, drank water, swam, laughed a lot and was consistent. One day at a time.

“I can now say because of this I am the happiest and healthiest I’ve been. Health is wealth.

“It cost’s $0 to exercise, laugh, drink water and go outside. If you do this I promise you’ll be the happiest and healthiest you can be.”

Makes me feel quite inadequate. Keep it together sir, and you will do very well. Maybe try for NIDA, you could easily be the next Chris Hemsworth. (He’s been on SAS Australia, which is pretty damned serious.)

The old Murray system spread vast silt deposits over the area burying anything that looked like a hill or valley.

Such a pity schooling no longer requires map drawing where all the main rivers of Victoria (or your State) are named, and a bit of regional geography, plus exercise walking up hills and looking out over valleys, identifying fault lines and landslips and even discovering fossils. All replaced by TikTok on screens. All lost because “curriculum” I read in last weekend Australian no longer seems to exist.

Michaelia Cash denies knowing of alleged rape of Brittany Higgins 18 months before it became public

Higgins has told the court she had multiple conversations with Cash about the alleged rape from October 2019, during her employment there.

But Cash said she first learned of the alleged rape almost 18 months later, in February 2021, when Higgins told her “out of the blue” prior to resigning.

She said, in earlier conversations about the night, Higgins had told her only that she and another staffer had gotten drunk, come back to parliament, and that Higgins had fallen asleep in Reynolds’ office.

Later, the defence barrister, Steven Whybrow, suggested to Cash that it would have been “political suicide to try and cover up a sexual assault between two staff”.

Cash responded: “Correct, hence my confusion with the line of questioning.”

So, not really getting any better for the prosecution. The summing up will have to either convince the jury that Ms Cash was either deeply mistaken, or lying.

Cash says she offered to support Higgins ‘every single step of the way’
By Angus Thompson

Lehrmann’s barrister, Steven Whybrow, asked Cash whether it would be “political suicide” to try to cover up a sexual assault between staff.

Cash said it would, “hence my confusion with the previous line of questioning”.

Whybrow then asked Cash whether she sought to prevent Higgins from going to the police or raising the complaint with anybody.

She answered “absolutely not”.

Asked whether she had offered Higgins support, Cash responded “absolutely”.

“I believe it was on that occasion [during the February 2021 phone call] I had said to her if she wanted to go to the police … we would support her every single step of the way,” Cash said, adding Higgins was a “very good employee”.

Cash said the first time she heard the word “rape” in relation to Higgins was following an inquiry from journalist Samantha Maiden on about February 12, 2021.

” average IQ” is always 100. By definition

Not in some parts of the world…”

Always and ever – I repeat, by definition.

“IQ” is NOT an absolute term, it’s a RELATIVE one.
Someone who scores 100 on an IQ test (after normalisation) is “average” for THAT test.
The tests themselves are also not absolute – they measure what the writer of the test believes makes people intelligent, not actual intelligence.
A test written by “first world” intelligentsia may (probably WILL) under-estimate the intelligence of “third world” people, and visa-versa.

“Are you of average IQ kneel?”
I suppose it would depend, as above, on what “IQ test” I were to take. Certainly I am better at some things than most other people, but also much worse at other things. I don’t consider myself particularly “smart”, if that’s what you mean, although if you will excuse the hubris, more than a few people whom I consider “smart” think that I am too – not for me to judge myself in that regard, IMO, too easy to get wrong (either way).

Pentagon Grapples With How To Defend Military Women From Tucker Carlson’s Insults

The fact that the left don’t immediately recognize the irony of that headline is breathtaking and indicative of just where the problem lies.

If military women can’t defend themselves how can they be relied upon to defend the country? Especially from the “brutish “masculine” militaries of Russia and China.”

“We have got to … have a broad appeal,” she cautioned. “When only 9% of kids are interested in serving” in the military, “we have got to make sure that we are careful about not alienating wide swaths of the American public to the Army,” Wormuth added.

Here’s a clue Sec Wormuth. The kind of people you need to be recruiting into the military are ones dedicated to something that doesn’t have a broad appeal in peacetime. The “swaths” that you are worried about alienating likely don’t belong in the service in the first place and trying to appeal to all is exactly why you aren’t getting the type who want to do something unique and special.

Mitchell’s diary.

Of the natives in our party it was arranged amongst themselves that Tommy Came-first and the widow, who most required a rest having sore feet, should remain with Mr Stapylton, and that Piper and Tommy Came-last should accompany me. When about to set out I observed that the widow Turandurey, who was to remain with Mr Stapylton’s party and the carts, was marked with white round the eyes (the natives’ fashion of mourning) and that the face of her child Ballandella was whitened also. This poor woman, who had cheerfully carried the child on her back, when we offered to carry both on the carts and who was as careful and affectionate as any mother could be, had at length determined to entrust to me the care of this infant. I was gratified with such proof of the mother’s confidence in us, but I should have been less willing to take charge of her child had I not been aware of the wretched state of slavery to which the native females are doomed. I felt additional interest in this poor child from the circumstance of her having suffered so much by the accident that befell her while with our party, and which had not prevented her from now preferring our mode of living so much that I believe the mother at length despaired of being ever able to initiate her thoroughly in the mysteries of killing and eating snakes, lizards, rats, and similar food. The widow had been long enough with us to be sensible how much more her sex was respected by civilized men than savages, and, as I conceived, it was with such sentiments that she committed her child to my charge, under the immediate care, however, of Piper’s gin.

The tests themselves are also not absolute – they measure what the writer of the test believes makes people intelligent, not actual intelligence.

This was reinforced for me at uni 40 years ago. Did a “standard” IQ test and scored in the 130s, and the class mean was 105.
Then we did an IQ test that was written for American inner urban negros*. I was the only person in the class to score above 100. I didn’t understand half the questions and answered those randomly. The class mean was only 80something.

* One question was repeated in both. Windows have … (4 options). In the standard test the correct answer was glass. In the other one the correct answer was plywood.

“Is it science fiction to think that a country driving down its IQ- by every child gets a trophy learning and positive discrimination appointments in industry- will result in a diminished society?”

By using “every-one gets a prize” and “you get this because of who you are not how good you are at this”, we are certainly increasing “entitlement” attitudes, and decreasing the work ethic (“work hard to get ahead”). That is very likely, IMO, to result in a “worse” society.

Life is hard.
Life in unfair.
For everyone.
Get over yourself.

“Find the heaviest thing you can carry and carry it!” as Jordan Peterson says – if you are not challenging yourself, you are not doing as well as you could.
If you are not making mistakes, you are depriving yourself of the chance to learn and become better than you were.
If you offend no-one, you will please just as many.

Tim Blair:

There’s always a bright side. If you’re sufficiently insane, there are even reasons to celebrate Vladimir Putin’s vicious war against Ukraine.
Sure, the war has killed tens of thousands of people, including at least 7000 Ukrainian civilians. But leftist online journal Politico last week found an upside — the war is turning Europe green!
“By launching a bloody invasion of Ukraine, Vladimir Putin has done more than almost any other single human being to speed up the end of the fossil fuel era,” Politico announced, putting the Russian madman at No. 1 on its list of “28 power players behind Europe’s green agenda”.
“It took a war criminal to speed up Europe’s green revolution,” Politico continued. “Russian President Vladimir Putin has achieved something generations of green campaigners could not — clean energy is now a fundamental matter of European security.”
Well, isn’t that just dandy. It turns out ol’ Vlad is just a weaponised version of Greta Thunberg.
“We will look back at this situation in 10 years’ time,” Simone Tagliapietra, a researcher at some Brussels think-tank, told Politico, “and see, OK, that was the moment where we really got serious about the green transition and we really had the big green acceleration.”
So it’s all for the best, if you’re the kind of climate obsessive who puts the holy cause of greenism ahead of mass human slaughter.
Of course, some were unimpressed by this elevation of a bloodthirsty maniac to eco-visionary.
“The wives and mothers of Ukrainian soldiers will be pleased to know their loved ones died for a righteous progressive cause,” the Washington Free Beacon sarcastically editorialised.
“Russian conscripts are understandably reluctant to fight and die in what seems like a pointless war. Morale should improve once they realise they are fighting and dying to heal the planet by facilitating a ‘green revolution’ in Europe, where civilians bracing for a brutal winter amid soaring energy prices will take comfort in the fact that their suffering is making a difference.”
Even Politico, a 15-year-old, 900-employee enterprise that sold last year to a German publisher for more than $1.6 billion, confessed that Putin’s green advancement wasn’t all solar panels and cuddles.
“The green acceleration,” it admitted, “doesn’t mean Europeans will avoid a succession of brutally cold and expensive winters.” Or perhaps, in an absolutely worst-case scenario, one or two nuclear detonations.
Still, what’s a few more thousand deaths when freezing Europe can rejoice over the promised rise of renewables?
In fact, Politico’s reframing of the Ukraine war as planet-saving “green acceleration” calls for a historic review of other atrocities and their ecological benefits.
Given the Politico treatment, even the deadliest conflicts and most obscene acts of inhumanity can be recast as great leaps forward in the green revolution.
The Nazis, for example, sent millions to their deaths in concentration camps, but at least they used trains. Progressive!
Likewise, certain Japanese provocations led in 1945 to a rapid reduction in urban sprawl across Nagasaki and Hiroshima and the eventual creation of leafy “peace parks” in both cities.
Osama bin Laden is mostly remembered for murdering 3000 people on 9/11, but green activists might prefer to focus on his urgent environmental warnings.
“You have destroyed nature with your industrial waste and gases more than any other nation in history,” the deranged Islamic terrorist wrote in a 2002 letter to the US.
“Despite this, you refuse to sign the Kyoto agreement so that you can secure the profit of your greedy companies and industries.“
If bin Laden had been born in Stoke Newington rather than Saudi Arabia, he might have joined London art gallery climate churchies who last week threw tomato soup at van Gogh’s Sunflowers.
Philistinism aside, it would have been a better option than throwing jets at the World Trade Centre.
“Speaking about climate change is not a matter of intellectual luxury,” bin Laden said in 2010. “All of the industrialised countries, especially the big ones, bear responsibility for the global warming crisis.”
One year later, in 2011, bin Laden did his bit to cure global warming by assuming room temperature following a US raid on his Pakistan compound.
Unfortunately, his body was then dumped at sea — marginally increasing the rise in ocean levels.
But back to Ukraine, and how Putin’s war might further advance the green cause. Hey, how about using all those thousands of corpses to create useful organic fertiliser?
There’s precedent for this kind of earth-friendly recycling. According to a University of Glasgow study released this year, the bones of soldiers slain in the Battle of Waterloo were subsequently sold as a crop growth-enhancer.
“European battlefields may have provided a convenient source of bone that could be ground down into bone-meal, an effective form of fertiliser,” lead researcher Tony Pollard told reporters.
“One of the main markets for this raw material was the British Isles.”
The Brits might be in the market for similar substances as they freeze for warming this winter.
Get grinding on those bones, Vlad, and you’ll be in line for another eco award in 2023.

Oh, and I haven’t been looking at canines hungrily. Not even the sausage dergs. I draw the line.

calli,

you will be pleased to know that in Korea, as explained to me by the Korean People I worked with in Seoul, that

Euphemistically known as “dangogi,” or sweet meat, dog has long been believed to be a stamina food in North and South Korea and is traditionally eaten during the hottest time of the year, giving a sad twist to the old saying “dog days of summer.”

The dates are fixed according to the lunar calendar and dog meat consumption centers around the “sambok,” or three hottest days — July 17 and 27, and Aug. 16 this year. Demand appears to be especially high this year because of a heatwave in East Asia. Temperatures in the North have been among the highest ever recorded, hovering near 104 degrees Fahrenheit in several cities.

As is the case with almost everything, good statistics are not available for how much dog is eaten in the North.

But in South Korea, where even President Moon Jae-in has dogs as pets, at least 2 million canines are slaughtered and eaten each year even though its popularity as food is waning. While many older South Koreans believe dog meat aids virility, younger people generally are either against the practice or indifferent to it and there has been increasing pressure to ban it altogether.

On both sides of the Demilitarized Zone, dogs used for their meat are raised on farms for that express purpose.

“It’s been our national food since olden times,” explained Kim Ae Kyong, a waitress at the Pyongyang House of Sweet Meat, the largest dog specialty restaurant in the North Korean capital. “People believe that heat cures heat, so they eat dog meat and spicy dog soup on the hottest days. It’s healthier than other kinds of meat.”

The restaurant’s menu lists more than a dozen dog dishes, including ribs, hind legs and boiled dog skin.

Like their neighbors to the South, North Korean attitudes toward dogs are changing.

PS I never ate dog in Korea

“Kneel, my idea is that diminishing achievement will effectively drive down the IQ of a country”

I tend to agree, Wally (ignoring the IQ thing, and substituting “intelligence” instead, as that appears to be the “common” usage) – as I said, challenging yourself is important in many ways, and benefits the individual at least as much as it benefits society. And “losing” is a great motivator for those willing to keep trying, and/or to challenge “conventional wisdom” – we have many great advancements because of people who did what everyone said was “impossible”.

The trouble, I believe, is too many rules and regulations – you need a piece of paper from some authority or another to do way too many things, and the safety N*zi’s have gone overboard too. The entire balance of these things has gone – we need the balance back. As in: “Look before you leap” vs “He who hesitates is lost”. Extremes do not help, and there needs must be a balance. That some may be injured or even die, while regrettable, can never be entirely “fixed” – try to make things “idiot proof” and people just become more idiotic, in my experience. Helping people to avoid mistakes is useful, forcing them to is detrimental.

Discipline not a dirty word in a child’s education

KATHARINE BIRBALSINGH

The Michaela model offers a ‘proven concept in how to overcome the educational odds’, writes principal Katharine Birbalsingh.

It should go without saying that for students to have the best chance of learning, schools need to provide them with a calm, orderly and supportive environment. This isn’t always the case in Australian schools.

The OECD’s Program for International Student Assessment (PISA) ranks Australia as having some of the least orderly schools in the world – at 70th of 77 on its disciplinary climate index.

In a survey of 15-year-old students, two in five say their classmates don’t listen to what their teacher is saying and nearly half say there’s noise and disorder in most or all lessons.

And data from the OECD’s Teaching and Learning International Survey shows the majority of graduate teachers are not confident in managing the classroom.

That’s no small matter. It unnecessarily robs students of learning and wellbeing.

The OECD estimates that 15-year-old students in poorly disciplined classes are about seven months behind in their learning, compared with their peers in more disciplined classes. They’re also more likely to feel like they don’t belong, are less satisfied with life and are more likely to suffer from bullying.

If the national behaviour crisis is to be turned around Australian schools must tear up the progressive educational playbook.

It doesn’t need to be this way. At the Michaela Community School in North London, of which I am principal, we embrace traditionalism. And this leads to success for our students.

At this free secondary school, our teachers do the teaching – it’s not outsourced to the students. We have clear rules and expectations that are understood by all our students, staff and parents.

Our desks are in rows and the teacher stands at the front of the class where they drive the learning. This requires teachers to provide sharp explanations and monitor for understanding.

Our belief is that the teacher is the authority in the classroom. We do not have grouped desks where children are facing each other, or where children are leading the learning while the teacher is more a facilitator of learning,

The result is that our students are engaged, they learn, and they flourish. When you provide consistently fast-paced and highly interactive but traditional lessons, while maintaining high expectations of pupils, and offering a supportive school culture, excellent outcomes follow. We’re not without our critics and naysayers. But their objections to what we do are ideological, not empirical.

A good many of our critics wouldn’t know the first thing about schooling – especially in challenging school contexts. Many are well intentioned but misguided about how students need to behave in order to learn successfully. And self-proclaimed social justice advocates may echo all the right slogans, but most have little understanding about how to actually combat educational disadvantage.

This is the undeniable truth: without the schooling they need, poor students will simply remain poor. That’s why it’s no understatement that we’re transforming the lives of our students. We’ve shown that disadvantage doesn’t need to be destiny.

But you don’t need to take my word for it. We have thousands of guests from all around the world every year. They get a glimpse of what we do. They take with them insights to adopt in their own schools.

Britain’s independent school inspectorate, OFSTED (Office for Standards in Education, Children’s Services and Skills), awarded us an “outstanding” rating in all performance categories.

Our students’ academic results are among the best in the country. As a result, our graduating students are now attending the world’s best universities. Above all, we produce students who are kind-hearted, community-spirited and well-rounded.

I know Australia can be home to many Michaela-like schools. But that will take overturning the progressive educational orthodoxy so entrenched in school systems like Australia’s.

Discipline can no longer be a dirty word in schools. Structure, predictability and processes allow students to be confident about everything that’s going on and what’s expected of them.

We don’t do this – despite what my critics seem to think – because we hate children. To the contrary, it’s because we love them that we provide the scaffolding they need. While we may be badged “Britain’s strictest school”, our motto is to “work hard and be kind”.

I was recently encouraged to hear that the NSW government plans to appoint a schools behaviour adviser. Since we followed a similar process in Britain, it has helped empower many more teachers and principals to improve practice. While this doesn’t mean results will turn around overnight, it does go a long way to putting schools on a better track.

The first obligation of educators is to provide all students the opportunity to learn. The Michaela model offers a proven concept in how to overcome the educational odds. Schools in Australia – in fact, anywhere in the world – can do the same.

-o-o-O-o-o-

Katharine Birbalsingh is principal and founder of London’s Michaela Community School. It is important for men to remember that, as women grow older, it becomes harder for them to maintain the same quality of housekeeping as when they were younger. When you notice this, try not to yell at them. Some are oversensitive, and there’s nothing worse than an oversensitive woman.

My name is Rod. Let me relate how I handled the situation with my wife. When I retired a few years ago, it became necessary for Andrea to get a full-time job, along with her part-time job, both for extra income and for the health benefits that we needed. Shortly after she started working, I noticed she was beginning to show her age. I usually get home from the golf club about the same time she gets home from work.

Although she knows how hungry I am, she almost always says she has to rest for half an hour or so before she starts dinner. I don’t yell at her. Instead, I tell her to take her time and just wake me when she gets dinner on the table. I generally have lunch in the Men’s Grille at the club, so eating out is not reasonable. I’m ready for some home-cooked grub when I hit that door. She used to do the dishes as soon as we finished eating. But now it’s not unusual for them to sit on the table for several hours after dinner.

I do what I can by diplomatically reminding her several times each evening that they won’t clean themselves. I know she really appreciates this, as it does seem to motivate her to get them done before she goes to bed.

Another symptom of aging is complaining, I think. For example, she will say that it is difficult for her to find time to pay the monthly bills during her lunch hour. But, boys, we take ’em for better or worse, so I just smile and offer encouragement. I tell her to stretch it out over two, or even three days. That way, she won’t have to rush so much. I also remind her that missing lunch completely now and then wouldn’t hurt her any (if you know what I mean). I like to think tact is one of my strong points.

When doing simple jobs, she seems to think she needs more rest periods. She had to take a break when she was only half-finished mowing the yard. I try not to make a scene. I’m a fair man. I tell her to fix herself a nice, big, cold glass of freshly squeezed lemonade and just sit for a while. And, as long as she is making one for herself, she may as well make one for me, too.

I know that I probably look like a saint in the way I support my wife. I’m not saying that showing this much consideration is easy. Many men will find it difficult. Some will find it impossible! Nobody knows better than I do how frustrating women get as they get older. However, Guys, even if you just use a little more tact and less criticism of your aging wife because of this article, I will consider that writing it was well worthwhile. After all, we are put on this earth to help each other.

NOTE: Rod, died suddenly on April 21st of a perforated rectum. The police report says he was found with a Calloway extra-long 50-inch Big Bertha Driver II golf club jammed up his rear end, with barely 5 inches of grip showing, and a sledge hammer laying nearby. His wife was arrested and charged with murder. The all-woman jury took only 10 minutes to find her Not Guilty, accepting her defence that Rod, somehow without looking, accidentally sat down on his golf club.

School is a joke, Top Ender.

At best, it’s a racket.

Does anyone understand what was the DPP’S intent in calling Cash?

It is building a narrative as to why Britnah took nearly two years to report it to the cops.
It wasn’t because of the urging of her new besties (Mrs Bandana and Sam “I’ve only had one occifer” Maiden) or the lure of the book deal.
It was because the evil Liberals threatened her career if she did.
So it goes like this:-

“We got no evidence because we waited too long.
But we woulda had evidence.
Except they stopped us.”

Kneel, my idea is that diminishing achievement will effectively drive down the IQ of a country

Chicken or egg?

The west was built by Western European christians with a strong work ethic and an average population IQ of 100.

For a long time, their ‘5 eyes’ diaspora prospered because IQ is strongly genetic and what your society looks like depends upon its average IQ.

if you doubt that, explain this graphic:

https://images.app.goo.gl/PZfVTnHy6u6fBvUS9

Decades of deliberate policies which reward failure (aka the welfare state) and an immigration program which preferences arrivals from low IQ countries has pretty much broken the West now. No country with a national IQ below about 92-95 is capable of remaining a civilised democracy.

Have I come to the party late or am I a bit thick? Maybe I shouldn’t speculate like that around here.

It was my understanding that Bruce and Brittany went back to Reynolds’ office in various states of intoxication with Brittany at the higher end of the scale. It was reported that she had face planted at the function they had attended.

I gathered that on the Monday the shit hit the fan ostensibly because of the state of the office. It now appears that it was the next day, Tuesday.

I’m not sure when the actual cleaning took place with some reports indicating on the weekend. If security had arranged cleaning on the weekend then Brittany has certainly not made any complaints about sexual assault or rope. Preservation of the crime scene would have been the first priority. Brittany had just pulled herself together and went home.

On Tuesday, Bruce is called in to face the music. The major issue being the mess the office was left in requiring extensive cleaning. Bruce gets the bullet.
He has cordial interactions with his “victim” prior to his termination.

So then it’s Brittany’s turn to face the music. She’s for the high jump as well as she made the big mess. My understanding is that here she makes the rope allegation. The Chief of Staff takes a step back and Brittany holds her position.

Here it gets a bit murky. Cash has now testified that the first she heard of the rope allegation was almost 2 years later. Higgins had been shifted to her office but nothing was said to her by either Reynolds or Higgins.

I understand that the cops were involved shortly after the event but she chose not to proceed with the complaint. Bruce was kept in the dark until 2 years later when a journalist sought comment from his new employer.

Netherlands shuts down rich natural gas field amid energy crisis

The good news is that northern Europe has a vast trove of natural gas supplies available in the Groningen field, located in the northeastern part of the Netherlands. It contains enough natural gas to meet nearly all of the region’s needs for some time to come. The bad news is that they are shutting down all gas drilling in the Groningen field, but it’s not because of climate change concerns or protests by Greta Thunberg. They are terminating all natural gas extraction because the process “has produced earth tremors”.

Abdul and his friend Mohammed are trying to migrate to Australia as skilled workers.

They go to the Australian embassy in Lahore and start filling out the application. Mohammed goes into an interview room with an embassy officer and they start discussing his work experience and whether he qualifies as skilled labour.

“So what do you do, Mohammed?” says the embassy worker. “I work in a women’s underwear factory and I cut out the underwear fabric before its gets stitched up”. “I’m sorry” says the embassy guy “but that’s not skilled labour. We can’t give you a visa”.

A dejected Mohammed went back to the waiting room and waited for Abdul.

A few minutes later, Abdul comes out so excited. He got his work visa! He’s going to Australia!

Disappointed, Mohammed asked the embassy worker why Abdul got a visa and not him.

“Well” said the embassy guy “Abdul is a diesel fitter, which is the kind of skilled labour we need in Australia”. “What do you mean?” says Mohammed. “Abdul works at the same factory as me. Guaranteed Basic Income Pilot Includes Illegal Immigrants

From Armstrong Economics –

“An Illinois county is paying illegal immigrants for making it across the border and winding up in the mess that is the Chicago area. US taxpayers already pay around $20 billion annually to support those who entered illegally, but that amount is expected to rise significantly. Although impossible to forget, this is occurring on the backdrop of serious inflation and a looming global recession. Now, lawmakers are promising Guaranteed Basic Income to this same group.

The Cook County Promise Guaranteed Income Pilot is testing Guaranteed Basic Income on 3,250 households across the county. They will each receive $500 per month with “no strings attached.” Again, free money is never free. Those eligible must be adults 250% beneath the federal poverty line or households over four earning under $69,375.

It is estimated that 36% of county residents will be permitted to apply. “Participants are free to spend the money however they see fit to meet their needs, within the bounds of the law,” the website states. “This pilot is open to all residents of Cook County, regardless of your immigration status. This means that if you are undocumented, or your household is a mixed-status household, and you meet the eligibility criteria above, you are eligible to participate. We will not share information on immigration status with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) or with the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS).”

They claim the funds will come from the American Rescue Plan Act, an act funded by Americans that was intended for Americans. Welcome to modern-day America where individual counties are permitted to practice socialism at your expense.

Elon Musk Revoking Ukrainian Aid

From Armstrong Economics –

“Don’t bite the hand that feeds you. SpaceX founder Elon Musk came to Ukraine’s rescue when they lost access to the internet. Musk’s sent Ukraine 20,000 Starlink satellite units at the cost of $80 million. After Elon Musk posted a poll regarding allowing the Ukrainian people to vote on the matter of joining Russia and upholding the referendum, Ukrainian diplomat Andri Melnyk publicly tweeted, “Fuck off is my very diplomatic reply to you.”

So now, Elon is considering doing what Melnyk proposed. Musk was concerned about the cost of operations long before Melnyk’s insult. “We are not in a position to further donate terminals to Ukraine, or fund the existing terminals for an indefinite period of time,” SpaceX said in a letter to the White House dated September 8. The company was urging the Pentagon to fund the project, which they estimate will cost $120 million for the remainder of 2022 and $400 million for the next 12 months. Ukrainian General Valeriy Zaluzhnyi, meanwhile, is requesting 8,000 additional Starlink terminals.

Now Musk is considering back peddling and removing his funding to Ukraine. He stated that his company could no longer afford the costs to fund this endless war. When he received negative feedback online, he replied, “We’re just following the recommendation,” and replied directly to Andri Melnyk. This is what happens when you bite the hand that feeds you.”

Joanne Hackett’s recent Quadrant piece, Saving Australia, one bumper sticker at a time, has launched something of a movement, with orders pouring in for the stickers shown above. She writes:

We are very pleased that so many people have expressed the need for more action on the NO side of the Voice to Parliament. So far, as of October 16, some 625 stickers have been distributed and I am about to order another printing.

This is not a profit-making exercise. We see only the need for the public to be better involved. in the effort to foil this is seriously racist proposition.

All Australians, regardless of race or colour, must be treated equally.

The stickers are $2.00 each, plus postage, or postage free to anywhere in Australia for orders of 10 or more, of whatever variety. I am about to order another printing.

Seems mine are in the mail…

How much of this is to believed. Digiknees had first mover advantage.
From commonground.org.au

“First Nations people adapted quickly, often employing guerilla warfare tactics. That is, fast-moving, small-scale actions including ambushes, sabotage and raids. First Nations people used traditional weapons as well as guns. Fire was used to burn off crops. Fire and dingoes were used to scare away cattle and sheep. Dingoes were also used to attack British soldiers. First Nations people also used their deep knowledge of Country to aid them in battle – they had the home ground advantage. “

Yet still they lost, or more accurately, more of them preferred white man’s lifestyle to roving the bush looking for forage.

So, in Cash’s terms, a MINISTERIAL ADVISER who ignores all of the rules of probity and goes out on the piss with DEFENCE CONTRACTORS is a “very, very good employee”.

What has never been made clear is who was paying for the booze. Anyone care to guess?
