“It’s unrealistic to expect our PM to avoid the likely new PM of one of our oldest allies. Like it or not. And I don’t like the politics of either of them.”

At the time of the famous photograph, Albanese was not PM and Corbyn was opposition leader. Corbyn’s vicious views on Israel and Jews have been known about for decades. Apparently, Albanese and Corbyn are old friends.

Given the globe trotting our PM has been doing, I thought it was a discussion about something more recent. With that proviso, I stand by my comment.
Remember the comments from Bill Shorten(?) when Trump looked like he might get elected? I expect our PM, or our potential PM to use some discretion when commenting on their counterparts. Which I will note, is not something I expect either of those two to exercise.

I remember when an alleged transexual or possibly an hermaphrodite
used to post at sincs and he/she was opposed to children getting anything more that emotional support, the clothes, the name.
No hormones, no drugs, no surgeries.
I think statistics confirms between 73 to 93 % of gender confused children change their mind when they get their second big flush of hormones in adolescence.
Quite often it is same sex attraction that is the real issue.
It’s a huge irrevocable decision to turn your child into a eunuch denied the right to children or sexual fulfilment and with hideously mutilated bodies.
We rightly condemn fgm in other circumstances.

Screechees getting desperate:

Thousands of people — including a significant number of First Nations Australians — will be prevented from voting on the referendum to establish an Indigenous Voice to Parliament if amendments to the referendum machinery bill are voted down in the Senate.

The Greens have put forward an amendment to the referendum machinery act to allow incarcerated people to be eligible to vote in the upcoming referendum.

Currently incarcerated people serving sentences of more than three years are ineligible to vote in federal elections of referendums, but those sentenced to less than three years, or on periodic detention, or on early release, or on parole are eligible.

ABS data from last year shows around 42,000 people are in prison in Australia, and around 13,000 of them are Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander, although the length of their sentences is not indicated.

13000/42000 = ~31%. Not bad for ~3% of the population.

I think you are doing the equivalent of getting a car respray without knowing what sort of car you are getting resprayed

Talking of such IRL things, Hairy and I have just returned from Botany – an exciting place to tour, he advises me, when I say I am going to accompany him to the NRMA repair shop because Dr. Google advises that interesting new travel can fend off cognitive decline in the aged. On Botany Road to improve the intellectual exercise I fell to wondering what Captain Cook and Dr. Banks would have thought about it all now. Once we’d found the place, we waited while they fitted the new tail light which has turned up from Ghermany at last, the final piece of our repair from when a garbage truck and I had an argument. We waited out that 35 minutes in the midst of high industry, sitting on three abandoned pallets dumped on a grassy patch next to the Veola Garbage Processing Centre just down the road, watching those huge trucks roll in, for we couldn’t wait at the repair place.

It seemed a suitable end to the garbage truck disaster. To celebrate we drove off to the huge Tempe IKEA which is really why I wanted to go with him in the first place. He’s always made excuses about going there before, for it is really furnishings in the raw. They make you traverse an expanse of offerings to finally view the one thing you want. I am renewing my Billy bookcases, for my expanding library. Now we’ve seen the ones I want we can order them online, and a man to put them together.

Hairy sighed all through this major shopping expedition, dumping himself into chairs while I explored ‘areas’, for of course, when one wanders through IKEA, while all the furniture seems designed for boxy unit-dwelling midgets, there are many tempting little things to pick up on the way. These places are made for shoppers like you, primal female gatherers, he groaned, because as we operated the self-serve checkouts he was having trouble trying to find the bar codes on all the little bits and pieces I’d collected that I’d never know before that I even wanted.

I prefer IGA – although when in Sydney I often use Woolies because they are close and convenient. Years ago, when Woolies changed their logo and image I wrote to every board member complaining about the change and its rationale. They actually replied, saying it “freshened” their image. What marketing baloney!

Harris Farm, on the other hand, are a more fair dinkum organisation. I once complained in a store that the “pure” orange juice I bought seemed watery – something I had never noticed before. I received a foul reply from the check out person – so I wrote again to the Board. Harris senior actually personally replied and apologised for the rude response I received from the employee. I was pleasantly surprised and have been a loyal customer ever since.

Dire for whom, exactly? Sorry Vicki but you’ve obviously reading stuff which is not deep dive.
Mr Prigozhin hasn’t been very friendly with Kremlin apparatchiks recently.

Wagner Claims Control of ‘70 Percent’ of Ukraine’s Bakhmut (20 Mar)

“At the moment, Wagner units control around 70 percent of the city of Bakhmut and are continuing operations to complete the liberation of the city,” Yevgeny Prigozhin said in an open letter to Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu.

In the letter published on social media, Prigozhin appealed to Shoigu to provide Wagner units with the equipment necessary to rebuff a Ukrainian counteroffensive he said was due late March or April.

Sounds like they’ve over-extended. Prigozhin has been appealing for ammo and support a few weeks now without much result. If the Ukies do as the Russians did in Stalingrad and pinch off the attackers, as Mr Prig appears to fear, it could become very painful for the Russians.

Intersex is a rare, genuine, physiological birth defect. Living with it must be very hard and takes courage, which indeed merits respect. Transsexualism, the belief that you are in the wrong body, is a mental condition. What causes it is unknown. It is also a fashionable condition which can affect the young and credulous, and is currently being pushed, dishonestly, as the cause of adolescent angst. I feel pity for the few genuine cases, and fury at the evil shits who push it onto the young and credulous, exploiting them remorselessly for ideological reasons.

A new transgender flag will fly permanently outside Treasury Place just days after an anti-trans rally took place in Melbourne.

Premier Daniel Andrews on Tuesday announced the Progress flag – which is made up of light pink, baby blue and white stripe – would be a permanent fixture outside the Victorian government offices.

The Progress flag joins two other temporary LGBTIQ+ flags which will remain outside Treasury Place until the end of the month, a day after International Transgender Day of Visibility.

“There’s a new flag flying outside the offices of the Victorian Government,” Mr Andrews wrote.

First, given the way that VicStasi co-operated with the “Nazis” by first allowing them to enter the area set aside for the women’s protest, then by escorting them away, without taking names, there had to be official support for them.

Second, m0nty=fa and Dick Ed have been hysterically screaming that the women’s protest are all Nazis.

#2. Make a clean break and sack Deeming from the Party.

Grey Ranga:

Has John Howard been arrested for sending Soldiers off to kill people on a false premise. Weapons of mass destruction?

You are conflating two issues, GR.
One of them is that John Howard sent soldiers off to kill people on a false premise.
The other is that Saddam didn’t have WMD.

Saddam had no WMD at the time of the start of Gulf War Second Edition. Scott Ritter said so and he led the UNSCOM team that found and destroyed the chemical weapons several years earlier. The mobile biological weapons trucks were not really that, just a picture prop used at the U.N. Plus Saddam had no nukes. End of WMD story.
The belief he had WMD was the trigger under the UN resolution to authorise the war, so it was a war with a publicly stated premise which was false. If there was some other real reason to go to war which was true, this was not the stated reason.
Telling his customers they would soon be able to buy oil in Euro instead of greenbacks could have been upsetting enough to the USA that this was enough reason for W to invade, but nobody at the UN would buy this as an excuse. Hence the ruse about WMD.

The opinion that WMDs were an accessory after the fact and not the driver is apparently shared by others who ought to have known:

CIA officers also recall the shock of British counterparts. “I thought they would have a heart attack right there at the table,” recalls Luis Rueda, head of the CIA’s Iraq Operations Group. ….
For the US, the issue of weapons of mass destruction (WMDs), were secondary to a deeper drive to overthrow the Iraqi leader, Saddam Hussein. “We would have invaded Iraq if Saddam Hussein had a rubber band and a paperclip,” says Mr Rueda. “We would have said, ‘Oh, he will take your eye out.’”

But no WMD would be found afterwards either. “It all fell apart,” one former MI6 officer says, recalling a post-war internal review of sources.

The best reason to oust Saddam was that he and his regime were thoroughly nasty. But let’s face it, if every country with bad leaders got invaded and toppled there would only be Finland left at the U.N.

Toodyay landholder risks jail time for building creek crossing in alleged breach of Heritage Act.

The Boyagerring Brook running through Mr Maddox’s property is part of the Avon River catchment and is said to have mythological value to the traditional owners of the region.

According to the prosecution’s statement of facts, the brook is the home of the Waugul — the rainbow serpent central to Noongar mythology.

It states that any alteration to the Waugul’s home could scare it from the water, causing it to dry up and cause harm to the surrounding environment and people.

From CL’s blog. This matter went to court yesterday.

It states that any alteration to the Waugul’s home could scare it from the water, causing it to dry up and cause harm to the surrounding environment and people.

If these are facts, then there must be some observations that support them. Like an interview with the Waugul, perhaps, and a statement from it on the matter of how easily scared it is by any particular change.

Failing the demonstrated existence of the Waugul, this appears to be no more than superstitious crap. Adults shouldn’t take it seriously.

re the Bunyip Aristocracy
Bypass road works up the way here has involved damming up a creekline while a bridge gets duplicated. Fairly safe bet, bar two inches in a summer thunderstorm, that creek will be dry as a chip until May.
Regardless, local Voice Corporation were consulted, and lo! and behold! there indeed was a Wagylette there, just a small friendly one, who was satiated by some clap sticks and green leaves over the heat beads in a portable brazier, just 39.95 from Bunnings.
The consultation and ceremony however, cost $17 500.
Mine wife is backing out of her chairpersonship of the catchment group. The Aboriginal Heritage Act now has primacy in every consideration, every gathering, every board meeting, every board composition… basically what was once a community group doing environmental farm science water stuff now devotes about ten percent of its time and budget to Voice appeasement, for which they get no-one turning up, no addition to the store of knowledge, nothing. Here’s today’s editorial from The Oz, providing some sane and lucid analysis.

Neo-Nazis a distraction on the issue of women’s rights

Nothing can justify the ugly scenes that have erupted at rallies called to allow citizens to express their concerns about what they see as the erosion of the standing of women in today’s society. Transgender rights supporters have clashed with police in Hobart and foolish neo-Nazi demonstrators have made a spectacle of themselves in Melbourne, sparking a ban on the public display of the offensive straight-armed salute. Standing in the middle has been a small army of self -proclaimed feminists who denounce what they see as a new patriarchy being imposed by people who have self-selected as women.

The issue of trans rights is a new and potent front in the culture wars globally. Being pro-women is denounced as anti-trans. Popular children’s author JK Rowling is an example of what can happen to those who say publicly that not anybody can be a woman. Despite this, there is a deep reservoir of concern among many people from across the political spectrum. Issues include the opening up of women’s sport, the eligibility criteria to serve time in a women’s prison or use women’s public toilets. Many women who have spent their lives campaigning on the left for social change to open the opportunities for women in their choice of career, education, equal pay and other issues now find themselves on the conservative side of the ledger, derided for being unwilling to change.

For sure, politicians must be careful about the company they keep. A golden rule is that arguments involving changing cultural norms are like a siren song for unsavoury elements on the extremist fringe. This said, political leaders also must be careful how they discriminate when it comes to free speech. The brouhaha that surrounds the attendance of novice Victorian Liberal MP Moira Deeming at a rally on the steps of the Victorian parliament on Saturday has all the ingredients of shock and horror amid claims the pro-women movement has been infiltrated by neo-Nazis.

To be sure, the antics of Nazi-saluting troublemakers who gatecrashed the event cannot be condoned in any way. But Ms Deeming was not one of them. All of the offence and violence at rallies where women are encouraged to voice concerns about a new patriarchy in the guise of a militant trans lobby was caused by others. The case that has been made against Ms Deeming relies on her guilt by association to others who in turn are damned by their guilt by association to unfavourable elements, including neo-Nazi sympathisers, rather than anything they themselves have said or done.

Victorian Opposition Leader John Pesutto has mounted an official campaign to have Ms Deeming ejected from the Liberal Party. The case against her is that she conducted activities in a manner likely to bring discredit on the parliament or parliamentary Liberal Party. Her offence was organising, promoting and attending a rally where Kellie-Jay Keen was the principal speaker “in circumstances where Mrs Keen was known to be publicly associated with far-right extremist groups including neo-Nazi activists”. On Tuesday, Mrs Keen said neo-Nazis were predominantly “sad, pathetic men who aren’t going very far in their lives”.

Most definitely, guilt by association is a difficult trap for novice politicians. All politicians, including Ms Deeming, must be careful of the company they keep. But on the available facts, it is Mr Pesutto who is being overly sensitive about keeping the company of Ms Deeming. The issue being ventilated by British agent provocateur Mrs Keen has closed the door on rational thought and the right to disagree. The divisive political fallout spread to the capital ahead of her arrival, with Anthony Albanese and senior Labor figures seizing on the issue. “Why would people attend an anti-trans rally?” the Prime Minister told Nova radio. “It’s really disrespectful of who people are, and then it was joined by people doing Nazi salutes.”

Hours earlier in question time, Attorney-General Mark Dreyfus accused Peter Dutton of failing to condemn the neo-Nazis and Ms Deeming’s appearance. Mr Dreyfus damned the federal Opposition Leader for his silence on the issue. Mr Dutton said the Holocaust was “an abomination” and said that it being used for political purposes was a very poor reflection on the Attorney-General.

Not surprisingly, Greens leader Adam Bandt was quick to nail his colours to the anti-Let Women Speak brigade on the grounds of transphobia. “I’m disgusted by the anti-trans rally in Melbourne yesterday, protected by their allies, saluting neo-Nazis,” Mr Bandt wrote in the absence of evidence the offensive neo-Nazis, who did not protest in the same place as the women, were even invited. Mr Bandt was put back into line publicly by a former Greens volunteer who attended the protest. “I volunteered for Adam on all of his campaigns from 2007-2019 … I donated to his campaigns. I have looked after his dog and house-sat while he was on holidays. He’s lying. He knows I’m not anti-trans. He knows I’m Jewish and NOT PROTECTED BY NEO-NAZIS,” Nina Vallins posted on Twitter. Ms Vallins followed up on Melbourne radio to say: “There is no way they would invite Nazis to that event. We are feminists, we stand up for women’s rights, we repudiate entirely the views of Nazis.” Ms Vallins’ views deserve to be heard on the steps of Victoria’s parliament and in the public square.

Amen, I suppose the above is better late than never. Finally some sanity from a media outlet about what happened in Melbourne last Saturday. As for the description of Keen as an “agent provocateur”, I suppose that’s better than “Nazi”, or “Nazi apologist” or “associate of David Duke”. I’m wondering, does that make me an “agent provocateur” because I attended a Let Women Speak event in Sydney? Ooooh, I don’t mind being called an “agent provocateur”!

A few points…..

What Mark Dreyfus, all round cockroach, did in federal parliament yesterday, was a disgrace. We all know Labor is full of unsavoury cockroaches but Dreyfus is, quite frankly, among the worst. He’s a grub, with zero principles. And as for Labor smearing “anti-Semitism” and inferring guilt by association at Dutton and the Liberals, there’s one word to describe that and the word is “chutzpah”, because the fact is that sitting in Labor’s own ranks are the likes of Corbyn’s great mate, our current PM, Tony Burqa (whose own unsavoury associations are worth looking at) and other grubs on Labor’s left, all of whom associate with real Jew haters. Perhaps someone should tap them on the shoulders and advise them to tread carefully, because shit always come back to bite shitters in the bum. I was pleased to see Dutton’s forceful response to the smears by Dreyfus and Labor, I was reminded of the Dutton of old. Perhaps there is some hope in the federal Liberals, but I don’t and won’t hold my breath.

As for the Victorian Liberals, they are now now completely castrated. It’s over. They should fold up their tent and vacate the camping ground. They have now forfeited all rights and privileges. When I listened to John Pussotto on Credlin on Monday, apart from being utterly gosmacked at the words that dribbled from his mouth, I was reminded of the character “Theon” aka “Reek” from Game of Thrones” who, after being castrated by the evil Ramsay Bolton, became Ramsay’s smelly, whimpering, simpering, feeble, and very pathetic servant and all round slave. Reek existed as Ramsay’s slave, forced to sleep with hounds, doing everything Ramsay commanded, and this is exactly what the Victorian Liberals are to Andrews and Victorian Labor. Daniel Andrews is this country’s Ramsay Bolton and the job he’s done to castrate the Victorian Liberals and their leader is now complete. They are done. Like Ramsay, Andrews is smiling and laughing, and guess what, he’s right to do so. I can only hope that one day there is a battle of the bastards because, given Andrews’ ongoing evil (and I do believe he’s evil), there must, one day, be a reckoning.

Further to “Reek” Pussutto, who rushes to judgment before the temperature had cooled, like his party, he’s now done. Clearly, there’s something wrong in “Reek” Pussutto’s electoral office, given the hysteria that emerged on Sunday. We’ve discussed here plenty of times how there are too many young people scoring comfortable gigs in politician’s offices, young men and women who are straight out of university and have no experience in the real word. Maybe that’s why “Reek” Pussotto rushed out to condemn Deeming, Keen and other women of the left and right as “Nazis”, “Nazi sympathisers, and “Nazi enablers”. Sorry, I can’t stop laughing, except none of this is funny.

In his feeble, pathetic and embarrassing appearance on Credlin on Monday night, “Reek” Pessutto, like Thoen in GoT, sat hunched over, trembling and so frightened he couldn’t even sit up straight. In a snivelling voice, he vomited out the usual platitudes that trans rights and women’s rights can co-exist. Credlin knew this was complete bullshit, and to her credit, she challenged him. But I’ll be a bit more direct and say it in plain English….here’s the truth Reek, NO, they can’t coexist, not in women’s toilets, not in women’s change rooms, not in women’s sports, not in women’s hospital wards, not in women’s rape crisis centres, not anywhere, and further Reek, you can call me a Nazi, a Nazi sympathiser, and a Nazi enabler, I DON’T CARE, because I know what the truth is.

I decided to save that “there will be no riots” prediction. The NYC police seem to think there might be, but what would they know?

Seems to be a lot of effort over nothing, unless it’s more vaudeville.

Oh and look what happened overnight….

Two arrested after protesters clash outside Belfield’s St Michael’s Church

Two people have been arrested and a police officer injured after a violent protest erupted outside a church forum – where One Nation MP Mark Latham was invited to speak – in Sydney’s southwest.

The riot squad were called after more than 500 people turned up to protest outside St Michael’s Church in Belfield where One Nation MP Mark Latham was invited to speak about religious freedoms.

It’s understood about 15 people from LGBTQI+ group Community Action for Rainbow Rights initially turned up to protest Mr Latham speaking at the forum, before hundreds of people from Christian Lives Matter also arrived.

Police alleged a number of glass bottles and other projectiles were thrown at officers during the event, with one striking a male constable injuring his hand.

The officer was taken to Canterbury Hospital and is in a stable condition.

Police said the crowd dispersed after the Public Order and Riot Squad and Operational Support Group were called in.

Two people were charged after the protest including a 34-year-old man who was charged with encourage the commission of crimes. He will appear before Bankstown Local Court on April 11.

A 41-year-old man was also charged with common assault and given a court attendance notice to appear before Bankstown Local Court on May 30.

On Tuesday night Latham didn’t hold back posting a series of tweets.

“The role of the NSW Police should be to protect and defend the rights of election candidates to participate freely in public meetings. A vital democratic right. Not to join the cancel culture movement. This is why I was surprised the police commander said I shouldn’t speak,” he wrote.

“These transgender radical Leftwing protesters cannot continue to go around threatening to block public roads and access to a church, a place of worship. The law should deal with them. Their provocation triggered the wild scenes at Belfield. Enough is enough.”

After news the protest had turned violent he tweeted: “I didn’t see what happened on the front street but I sincerely convey my best wishes to those injured and thank the police officers involved for their work. No one should take the law into their own hands. Violence at political events is wrong.”

So the LGBTQI+ brigade turned up at a church in south-west Sydney, an area home to thousands of Lebanese Maronites and Lebanese Muslims.

Crikey, where were the Blue Mountains’ Nazis? Oh that’s right, Nazis only turn up at events for women to speak at in Victoria.

Go Mark Latham, go One Nation.
