They found the coin landed with the same side up as when it was launched 50.8% of the time.

This is odd, assuming (I haven’t bothered to read the paper) that they had a squadron of random flippers. If they used only a few flippers, or a machine, it is entirely possible.

I’ve seen the analogy…

Mum used to love a go at the roulette down in the old West Point Casino. Dad was down there a lot for business… anyway, she was forever telling me she had a “system”. Which I naturally disbelieved entirely. Because reasons.

On one occasion, for whatever reason, I was also down in Tassie and thus was able to observe her “system”. She absolutely knew I was more than sceptical and simply gave me a card charting the positions of the various numbers on the roulette wheel and said I should watch.

On comes dealer one. No dice for Mum. The odd desultory bet laid. Dealer change…. now Mum’s into it like Flynn (after watching a few warm-up spins). And without doubt, well ahead of the game. Dealer change. Time for dinner… this one’s no good.

How? Well, and they have changed this these days, the dealer spun the roulette wheel in one direction at the same time as pushing the ball off in the other. Both done, importantly, with the ball above the last number it fell into. And, for some dealers, butter me on both sides, the combination of the two, slightly more often than not, landed the ball within 3 or 4 slots either side of the last number. Some sort of muscle memory, one assumes.

Random ain’t always random.

I was at the rally last night in Dover Heights. I heard Dutton speak, he was impressive. I wish he was PM.

Dutton represents the party still trying to shed the ugly wannabe-ALP skin of Malcolm Turnbull.

I hope he doesn’t shrink into the cowardice of Tony Abbott.

The current PM is just an activist who stood in line long enough to inherit the office when the Australian electorate was forced to choose between a rock and a hard place.

To become PM, Dutton just needs to keep mistakes — like his brainfart about a second referendum — off his record; and accept that a majority of the electorate are pining for effective conservative leadership.

PS, Peter: none of your media critics has ever or will ever vote for the LNP. But you knew that.

I didn’t think it was appropriate in the first couple of days after the massacre, but as a short while has passed now, I think it should be asked and observed.

1. Why would you have a loud rave concert next door to the border with the worst fcuking arseholes in the world?

How stupid has the West become?

2. If you’re going to run a Kibbutz close by to the same border, how could you not have armed guards that are appropriately armed?

Doesn’t the German-Israeli kid likely raped and murdered symbolize the present-day West? She was a tattoo artist raving close to one of the most dangerous borders on earth without a care in the world.

I hope we wake up a little from our present-day slumber. Let’s hope Dad gets back into the White House in 24.

All Dutton has to do is provide a moral template for Australia.

Luigi, on the other hand, has to balance factions within the ALP, try to hose down the drift of the BDS-adjacent to the Greens – all while trying to keep his arse out of the fire in Grayndler and the outer western electorates.

Reminded me of the Bataclan massacre.
Islamic terrorists love these events, proof of western decadence, dense population of young people many of whom would have been affected by alcohol yet there doesn’t seem to have been any real security from the obvious threat just a few kilometres away.
And clearly being watched from the inside as details of the location were only announced a few hours beforehand yet the winged humus monkeys were immediately ready to attack.

ASIO head Mike Burgess says the agency is on the alert for religiously-motivated and ideologically-motivated extremists who could take advantage of the attack on Israel.

Australian Muslim groups want to light up mosques in Palestine colours
By Jordan Baker

More than 50 Australian Muslim organisations have issued a joint statement calling on as many mosques as possible to be lit with the colours of the Palestinian flag – red, black, white and green – or fly Free Palestine banners.

It wants mosques, Islamic schools and education institutions to spend the next month hosting events to teach about the history of Palestine and the significance of Masjid al-Aqsa mosque in Jerusalem.

Signatories to the statement, released on Thursday, included the Australian National Imams Council, the Lebanese Muslim Association, the Islamic Council of NSW, and the Australian Palestinian Community Council.

They have also accused Australian political leaders of a one-sided portrayal of the issue.

“Australia should be pursuing avenues of peace and restraint when navigating civil conflicts, rather than supporting a decision to light up the Sydney Opera House and Parliament House Canberra with the colours of a colonising, invading, Zionist occupying regime,” it said.

After the attacks by Hamas on Israel, which left hundreds dead, Prime Minister Anthony Albanese condemned the “indiscriminate and abhorrent attacks” and recognised Israel’s right to defend itself.

Israel has been intensively bombing Gaza for several days, and has ordered a complete siege of the territory – home to 2.3 million people – by cutting off water and food.

I believe this to be an excellent idea – any building, displaying those colors should have a dead pig thrown through the front door.

The flipping may not be perfectly random. The shape of the coin may influence the dynamics, like loaded dice.

Likely the picking up of the coin is completely random.

Now I doubt if we expanded the number of flips if the probabilities would not rapidly converge to 50%.

It could change from coin to coin as well. Factoring in damage to the face and obverse and damage to the milling edge; games with multiple coins, and different flipping devices – the “extra” 0.8% chance is almost useless, considering repeating the experiment or expanding the sample size.

Bruce: Possibly due the ship containing 10,000 tonnes of zinc concentrate which is still stuck under the bridge. They rebuilt the bridge but left the ship in place.

Nah mate. The design for the new ship was checked prior to building, and then in the build process the breadth of the ship kept being changed. Somehow no-one thought to keep looking at the Tasman Bridge rules.

Said rules ban ships beyond a certain width as there’s only one central span they can go through, and the Derwent is tidal with some downstream flow as well. All adds up to “too dangerous”.

The wreck of the Lake Illawarra is still there along with some cars (with bodies in them) that went over in the 1975 disaster albeit with tonnes of concrete on top of the whole lot. There are movement sensors installed on the wreck but it’s apparently stable. Still, very odd to have a wrecked ship next to your city’s main bridge. For the sake of propriety alone I’d think it should be raised.

The other aspect of it is that the bridge design should never have been approved in the first place.

Underbelly actor Firass Dirani expresses support for Hamas, claims supporting Israel is ‘supporting apartheid’

EXCLUSIVE

2:40PM October 12, 2023

Australian actor Firass Dirani has claimed anyone supporting Israel is “supporting apartheid” in a social media post in which he expressed support for Palestinian militants who attacked the Jewish homeland.

The former Underbelly and Home and Away actor complained in the video that the designated terrorist organisation Hamas is being “propagated against as if they’re a terrorist militant group”.

Viewers of his post labelled Mr Dirani as a “coward” for blocking followers who challenged him on his comments, while Jewish leaders labelling him as having “no brain or no soul”.

In a post to his Instagram Stories on Monday morning described by one viewer as “demonic”, Mr Dirani compared the Hamas attack on Israel with Ukraine’s defence against Russia’s invasion.

“Seeing some people posting about in support of the Israeli flag and in a way that Hamas has been propagated against as if they’re a terrorist militant group,” Mr Dirani, who has 63,000 followers, said.

“Not too long ago the Ukrainian people were armed and were fighting against Russia, and they were called heroes and people that were resisting, resisting the oppressors, and now when the Palestinians resist the oppressors, that has been going on for 75 years, they’re labelled something else,” he said.

“They’re labelled as terrorists or militants, savages,” he said.

“They have every right to defend themselves, and for those who are supporting Israel, ones that are posting the Israeli flag, you are supporting apartheid, you are supporting apartheid, period,” he said.

“Now I doubt if we expanded the number of flips if the probabilities would not rapidly converge to 50%.”

It’s already is converging to 50%. Should only reach 50% as number of flips get to infinity. Assuming it truly is random, then it is more than possible that a “run” near the start could bias the average for a long time – it would asymptotically decay, I would expect. Of course, another truly random “run” could “flip” the bias the other way just as easily…

And in reality, tossing a coin is NOT a random result, but rather it is stochastic – that is, controlled by processes so complex that the result, while theoretically predictable, is beyond the reach of human calculation and/or intuition. If you knew every detail of the coin, of the flipper, of the air through which it travels and the surface which it lands upon, you could faultlessly predict the outcome. But such information is beyond our abilities to collect, let alone analyse, so we call this sort of process “random” despite it technically being stochastic.

Israel has the right — and the duty — to besiege Gaza

By Avi Bell and Erielle Davidson

Israelis are still burying the 1,200 victims of the Saturday attack on southern Israel by Hamas, the Islamist terrorist group that seized power in Gaza in 2007.

As the assault unfolded, terrorists raped women and dragged them through the streets.

They decapitated babies in their cribs.

They slaughtered entire families in their homes.

Hundreds of civilians remain missing or held hostage in Gaza.

The sheer evil of Hamas’ deeds exceeds what can be conveyed in words.

Anything other than an end to Hamas’ rule will leave Israel’s and the world’s citizens unacceptably exposed to savage criminal activity.

Israel’s government has a duty to its citizenry and the world to move rapidly and effectively to use every lawful means of warfare to defeat Hamas; deny Hamas territory in which to operate; and kill or capture all Hamas terrorists.

The defense minister announced a “complete siege” on Gaza, meaning it will receive “no electricity, no food, no water, no fuel” from or through Israel.

Since Hamas’ ascent to power, Israel has continued to be the main conduit of trade and supply for the Gaza Strip, providing its own fuel, electricity, water and medical care to Palestinian civilians that Hamas neglects and abuses.

This isn’t viable during the military campaign.

For years, Hamas has exploited these transfers by stealing supplies and penetrating “humanitarian” organizations to mask its terror operations and launder funds.

Hamas’ wartime command-and-control center is located in the basement of Gaza City’s Shifa Hospital, where the “humanitarian” supply of power and goods can serve the terrorists’ needs and Palestinian civilians’ misery can make them human shields.

Thus Israel cannot allow Hamas to resupply during the war; a complete siege is needed.

Unsurprisingly, the terrorists’ propaganda machine is working overtime accusing Israel of violating international law.

Hamas-controlled institutions, from the Gaza “health ministry” to Gazan “human rights” organizations, together with their Western allies in the United Nations and European Union, insist Israel has no legal right to besiege Gaza and is legally responsible for the price ordinary Palestinians are paying for Hamas’ actions.

These claims are perverse and without legal foundation.

Sieges are a well-known and lawful method of warfare.

Both the Geneva and Hague conventions include instructions on conducting sieges under international law, recognizing they may be effective tools for bringing a conflict to a rapid and successful end.

The basic rule they outline: Sieges are lawful unless deliberately aimed at starving the local population.

After MEMRI over many years has shows just what Palestinians are teaching their children and themselves it is no wonder that they have turned into a seething pit of vile snakes.

I have known a couple of Palestinians in Australia; one told me his brother had been murdered by the Iranians. The thing is, the best thing anyone has done for their children is get them out of the pit of snakes.

THE LEFT GETS A TASTE OF ITS OWN MEDICINE: Conservative group circles two trucks with photos, names of Pro-Palestinian Harvard students around Harvard Square.

Fallout from a controversial statement published and initially signed by about 30 student groups at Harvard University continued Wednesday as two trucks circled Harvard Square for much of the day, featuring the names and photos of students linked to the statement.

The billboard trucks, funded by the conservative news group Accuracy in Media, featured LED screens that changed throughout the day to feature at least a half dozen Harvard students under the words, “Harvard’s Leading Antisemites.” The trucks also linked to a website, HarvardHatesJews.com, which directs users to send messages to Harvard’s board of trustees.

“Tell them to take action against these despicable, hateful students,” the website reads. “Each and every one of these students should be expelled and their student organizations should be kicked off campus.”

Adam Guillette, president of Accuracy in Media, confirmed in an interview with the Boston Globe Wednesday evening that his organization sponsored the trucks.

“Our organization has sent two trucks to Harvard,” Guillette said. “They’ll be there for some time.”

I’m not in favor of cancel culture. On the other hand, I am a fan of irony and paybacks. And just a few years ago, all the best people were assuring me that it was laudable to punch Nazis. . . .

UPDATE: I think this stuff is getting their attention. Or at least that of Harvard president Claudine Gay. A Harvard friend writes: “Ha, I’ve got about 100 emails from Claudine Gay’s office.”

As the Instapundit Link does not work & Boston Globe Paywalled – from the Accuracy in Media Web Site – Brilliant look at videos of Billboard Trucks

The letter has received swift and widespread criticism.

31–yes 31–Harvard organizations have declared that the murders, rapes, kidnappings, and other atrocities committed by Hamas against innocent people are in no way the fault of Hamas, but are rather entirely the fault of … Israel. Something is deeply, deeply wrong in academia.

Accuracy in Media has been following antisemitism on college campuses. Last year, several Berkeley Law groups publicly banned pro-Israel speakers, so AIM sent mobile billboards to campus and gave students the chance to respond in a man-on-the-street video. They doubled down. So we named names and sent mobile billboards to their homes over Berkeley’s holiday break.

You realise that Egypt doesn’t want Hamas/Gazans to enter their country, right? I reckon if you turned up at that border and said “I am a christian fleeing persecution, please let me in!” you’d have a better chance of getting in than if you said you were muslim.

In any case: I’m very sorry for anyone, regardless of religion (or even lack thereof) who is not involved with the terrorists and doesn’t support them that live in that place, but at some point you have to accept the consequences of your choices. The place has been a hotbed of such actions (on both sides) for decades – if you are still there despite the history, then I think it fair to say you’ve decided to make a stand, and well, maybe that was a bad choice, you know?

‘Deport them’: Peter Dutton lashes Palestinian protesters

Australia’s domestic spy agency has warned that “words matter” as the Liberal leader Peter Dutton erupted over pro-Palestine rallies.

Samantha Maiden

Australia’s domestic spy agency ASIO has warned that “words matter” and can inflame community tensions as the Liberal leader Peter Dutton calls for protestors to be “deported” over pro-Palestine rallies.

In a dramatic escalation of rhetoric, Mr Dutton said those who chanted anti-Semitic slogans should be thrown out of Australia.

Calling on the Prime Minister to cancel the visas of those who appeared to support Hamas, Mr Dutton slammed the protesters as unAustralian.

He also appeared to concede he had no direct evidence that those chanting the slogans were on temporary visas or in fact Australian citizens.

“If there were people there who were on visas, they should be identified and have their visas cancelled. They should be deported,” Mr Dutton told 2GB.

It comes as Mike Burgess, the Director-General of Security at ASIO warned that while the spy agency is not targeting lawful protest, it remains concerned about “the small subset of protesters who may wish to escalate protest to violence.”

ASIO said this includes “religiously motivated and ideologically motivated extremists.”

For now, ASIO said that Australia’s terror alert level remained unchanged.

“The tragic events in the Middle East are resonating in the Australian community, however the national terrorism threat level remains possible,’’ he said.

“Protests, rallies and associated activities are expected to continue, and are likely to feature strong emotive claims.

“I remain concerned about the potential for opportunistic violence with little or no warning.

Mr Dutton’s strong reaction to the protestors was slammed by pro-Palestinan Australians on social media by Twitter users including @amalfalastini.

“Peter Dutton calls for the deportation of pro-Palestinian protesters on 2GB,’’ she said.

“This is racial incitement and he is actively creating an unsafe community as we saw in the lead up to the Cronulla riots.”

He has also accused ministers ‘within the Labor Party’ of ‘inherent bias’.

“If they were non-citizens, and the police should be doing this now, then their visas should be before the minister, and on character grounds they should have their visas cancelled,’ he said.

“I don’t even know if that work is being done by the Albanese government. This is the frustration… you couldn’t be assured that that process was being considered.

The NSW Police Minister Yasmin Catley is facing calls to be sacked over her handling of Monday night’s chaos, in which protesters stormed the Sydney Opera House forecourt while chanting anti-Semitic phrases.

Opposition Leader Mark Speakman questioned why Ms Catley didn’t “probe” police to cancel Monday’s protests, or work with community leaders, or advise people to not attend the rally.

“We ask the Premier to replace the current minister with someone who is up to the job,” he said.

“There’s no evidence she even asked the police to stop it happening or asked why it couldn’t happen.

“When we’ve got a threat of increased tension around the world, (and) increased community tensions here, you need a minister who is at the top of her job and this minister, I regret to say, is not.”

Mr Dutton suggested that the Sydney protests where some attendees reportedly shouted “F*ck the Jews” would “go down in our country’s history” for all the wrong reasons.

Take yesterday, flat tyre outside the Cambridge Hotel in Fairfield .. 12kms walk pushing bike home in 30C weather .. I knoze you should carry the gear BUT extra weight is extra weight! .. doesn’t alwayz work .. duuuuuh!
Anywayz, good luck to ’em but pleeze no publicity reporting on “effort” .. for them it’s a doddle …….. 8 dayz ..lunch, dinner & O/N stay for one of ’em, probably, costs more than this OAP grocery shops over 6 weeks ……

‘Not transparent’: The 10 Voice questions undecided referendum voters want answered

Polling shows the Voice is on track to be defeated unless the ‘Yes’ campaign wins over undecided voters. They have plenty of unanswered questions.

1. Why can’t the 11 elected Indigenous politicians provide advice on Indigenous matters?

2. Why are so many First Nations people voting no?

3. Why isn’t Labor being transparent with the detail of the Voice?

4. There are already a number of Indigenous advisory bodies, grassroots initiatives and billions of taxpayer dollars that address Indigenous disadvantage. How will a Voice enshrined into the constitution achieve better outcomes?

5. Does the Voice open the door to mandatory taxing of non-Indigenous Australians for reparations and land through a ‘pay the rent’ scheme?

6. Why has the Voice not been implemented through legislation and trialled before taking Australia to a referendum?

7. Why do we need to enshrine something that is racially divisive into the Constitution?

8. If it can only give advice what is the point? How do we know it won’t be ignored?

9. Will there be a treaty making process if a Yes vote is successful and how will this impact non-Indigenous Australians?

10. How can the Voice be representative of all Indigenous communities across Australia?

Bret Stephens – NYTimes.

He’s anti-Trump, he left the WSJ because of TDS. But I like him and still read him. In fact he’s one of the reasons I sub the Times in addition in wanting to know what the dishonorable opposition is up to.

By Bret Stephens

Opinion Columnist

On Saturday morning in southern Israel, Hamas murdered hundreds of people at a music festival and kidnapped others at gunpoint to serve as human shields in Gaza. On Sunday afternoon in Midtown Manhattan, a speaker at a rally of pro-Palestinian and left-wing groups celebrated that atrocity — one of thousands suffered by Israelis over the past few days, which we later learned included the killing of babies and toddlers.

“As you might have seen, there was some sort of rave or desert party where they were having a great time, until the resistance came in electrified hang gliders and took at least several dozen hipsters,” a speaker said. “But I’m sure they’re doing very fine despite what The New York Post says.” He was met with cheers.

I went to see the rally for myself: Would there be even perfunctory condemnation of Hamas’s methods? A brief nod of sympathy to Israel’s anguish? Some banal nod to the cause of peace and nonviolence? Not that I heard. What I saw was giddiness and gloating, as if someone’s team had won the World Cup. Hamas had perpetrated the largest single-day massacre of Jews since the Holocaust, and the crowd was euphoric.

Similar scenes unfolded across the world. In London, an estimated 5,000 demonstrators gathered near the Israeli embassy and shot off fireworks toward the building. At a rally at the Sydney Opera House in Australia, chants of “Free Palestine” gave way to the underlying emotion: “Fuck the Jews.” At Harvard, almost three dozen campus groups issued a joint statement holding “the Israeli regime entirely responsible for all unfolding violence.” A statement from Yalies4Palestine insisted that “Breaking out of a prison requires force, not desperate appeals to the colonizer.”

SKIP ADVERTISEMENT

Whatever else might be said about these demonstrations and declarations, give the protesters and manifesto writers points for honesty. “Pro-Palestine,” to many of them, is pro-Hamas. “Anti-occupation” is opposition to Israel’s right to exist in any form. Israelis are guilty by virtue of being Israelis, so their murder and humiliation is something to laugh at. When “Zionism Is Genocide,” as placards at the demonstration put it, then no means are too awful to put a stop to it.

If twice as many Israelis had been murdered on Saturday, would it have chastened the demonstrators or made them doubly glad, by the algorithm in which the terminally self-righteous become cheerleaders for slaughter?

Not all the far left was quite as far gone. The New York City chapter of the Democratic Socialists of America had promoted the rally on social media, but Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, the group’s most prominent member, denounced the rally and issued a 66-word statement in which she condemned “Hamas’s attack in the strongest possible terms.”

That was followed by a demand for “an immediate cease-fire and de-escalation.” Someone should tell the New York congresswoman: To call for a cease-fire, now, is to shield the killers from consequences and deny their victims the right to effective self-defense. It is, in the language of the old left, “objectively” pro-Hamas, even as it masquerades as a call for peace.

Something similar must be said about a much broader swath of the left that looks in heartfelt horror at what happened on Saturday but rarely stops to wonder whether it played any role in creating the moral and intellectual climate for what has unfolded.

SKIP ADVERTISEMENT

I’m talking about the bien-pensant for whom anti-Zionism — not just legitimate opposition to various aspects of Israeli policy, but the denial of Israel’s right to exist in any form — is a respectable political position, rather than simply an updated form of antisemitism. I’m talking about United Nations rapporteurs and once-great human-rights organizations who traffic in the lie that Israel deliberately created an “open-air prison” in Gaza, never mind that Gaza shares a border with Egypt, or that Israel vacated the territory nearly 20 years ago only to be repaid by endless assaults from above and below the ground.

I’m talking about the university presidents who stand for free speech when it comes to antisemitism but become notably censorious when it comes to other forms of controversial speech. I’m talking about the political leaders who repeatedly promise solidarity with Israel only to quickly demand restraint when Israel seeks to destroy the infrastructure by which Hamas maintains its war machine. I’m talking about narratives that seem calibrated to create the outrageous impression that Israeli soldiers deliberately kill Palestinian children. I’m talking about the people whose fury at the Israeli government never seems to abate but who barely pause to observe that Hamas is a dictatorship of religious zealots or that President Mahmoud Abbas of the Palestinian Authority is a fulminating antisemite.

Taken separately, none of this directly threatens a single Israeli life. Taken together, it goes far to explain how Israel, the nation of the Jews, is routinely treated, as some have said, like “the Jew of nations,” with consequences spelled in blood. If some of the anti-Israel left find themselves looking on in horror at what happened on Saturday, now is a good time for them to take a long, hard look at themselves.

Despite the heartbreaking evidence of babies beheaded, petrol poured over Israelis who were then set alight, I had a person this morning try to suggest that this may have been made up by the Israelis to discredit Hamas. I replied that the international media were specifically allowed to view the bodies. Yet they were still sceptical. I mean…do they think that the Israelis did it themselves??? A ruling which prevents the Australian Antarctic Division’s icebreaker from travelling under the Tasman Bridge to refuel is likely costing hundreds of thousands in extra dollars.

The RSV Nuyina has departed full of scientists and expeditioners – detouring to Burnie to refuel before travelling to Antarctica for the start of the summer season.

Dozens of expeditioners left on the $529m vessel on Monday to travel to the North-West Coast. The research vessel travelled via the East Coast, berthing at Burnie on Wednesday evening. It follows the 160m ship being refused permission by TasPorts to refuel at Selfs Point because it is deemed unsafe to travel under the Tasman Bridge.

Toppie, as I understand the backstory, the original design of the ship was slightly narrower, and would have been OK to pass under the bridge.

But, in the great tradition of fiddling with designs after the tender has been let, the genius Top Men at the Antarctic Division decided to make it wider. Not only did this increase the cost, it made it too wide to safely navigate under the bridge. They didn’t bother to check this minor detail, though (see: train carriages, Sydney, platforms, clearance from, etc, etc.)

The AAD senior management are obviously incompetent, as this is not the first time they have stuffed up in a big way. The whole construction and commissioning process has been a hot mess.

Time to put a firehose through the joint.

It would be best if they were able to leave. That is what I hope. They have stayed because it’s their home, and also because they are doing what Christians always try to do – serve God by example and where possible, by spreading the Good News.

I imagine many will decide to stay even now, a conscious decision to remain until the darkness falls. They are saints.

That is the way to handle it.
As I said at the time, this is all about framing the debate, so that there becomes an acceptance that some sort of limitation is necessary, and we just need to establish the level.
Do not engage with them.

The son of a Canadian-Israeli woman believed to be a hostage in Gaza has urged the Israeli government to try to win her release through negotiations.

Ms Silver worked regularly as a volunteer driver for a project funded by an Australian charity, Project Rozana, which collects critically ill Palestinian children and takes them to hospitals in Israel for treatment.

How stupid has the West become?

2. If you’re going to run a Kibbutz close by to the same border, how could you not have armed guards that are appropriately armed?

Appropriate questions. Answer to 1. Totally…

Digital technology will destroy us. Our reliance on satellites, computers and electronic gadgetry is terminal. Israel replaced border guards with elaborate cameras, listening devices, seismic meters etc and a large part of the downfall was the Palestinians understanding that knocking those over gave them time. Time the Israeli’s spent looking at screens and trying to figure out why there were breakdowns. Time the Palestinians used to kill over 1000 Israeli’s.

One of the strangest couples I’ve ever met.

We were at beach party for the 4th of July one time with Jewish pals in the 90s. There were a couple there and our friend said they lived in Israel. He also mentioned the husband was the son of a major Nazi honcho. Nice looking couple from memory too.

I don’t think any of the attendees at the “Rave for Peace” were armed, and what happened? It became a “rape for Jihad”.

I wonder how many of those attendees were not unsympathetic to the Palestinian “cause.”

I think there is a warning there that Islamist extremists see the left as useful idiots, expendable when the time comes.

The German-Israeli lass who ended up in the back of a ute, clothing torn off, was apparently a conscientious objector to compulsory service in the IDF.

Will Israel Do What it Takes to Secure Peace?
Moral reflections on Hiroshima, Nagasaki, Dresden – and Gaza.

Israel can play a cyclical game of one-upmanship with Hamas only to be attacked at a not-much later date. Or it can remember how wars were truly fought when defense fighters knew what the real goals of war were.

If you want peace, then your enemy must be subdued totally and irrecoverably – like Germany and Japan were.
There is no alternative.
At some point we will have to confront Islam and its psychopathy. It can be now, or it can be in ten years time when it has armed itself with nukes and becomes determined to turn the civilised world into a charnel house.
We know it will, and yet we delay the moment when we must deal with the nest of cobra in our houses. Why? How many of our children will have to die before we kill the snake?

“If you will not fight for right when you can easily win without blood shed;
if you will not fight when your victory is sure and not too costly; you may
come to the moment when you will have to fight with all the odds against you and only a precarious chance of survival. There may even be a worse case. You may have to fight when there is no hope of victory, because it is better to perish than to live as slaves.”

I don’t know when they stopped, if you weren’t a citizen or Green card holder there used to be a form you’d have to fill in to gain entry in the US. Some of the the questions were interesting.

1. Have you ever been a member of, or in any way affiliated with, the Nazi Party or any other organization that advocated or supported Nazi principles or activities?”

2. “Have you ever been a member of, or in any way affiliated with, the Communist Party or any other organization that advocated or supported Communist principles or activities?”
3. “Have you ever advocated for the overthrow of the U.S. government by force or violence, or have you ever been a member of any organization that has advocated such actions?”

If they asked these questions in reverse – on the way out – 30% of the fcukers shouldn’t be allowed back in.

I recently bought a new Ford Ranger Raptor ($100k) and the owners manual is digital and only readable on the large screen in the car. I asked them how it is possible to read the manual to find out how to trouble shoot why the electrical system has failed when the manual cannot be opened because the electrical system has failed.

They couldn’t answer so they said they would print me a manual.

The official Ford dealership could not print a copy of the manual because when this model Ranger was released last year Ford locked access to a printable version.

Insanity and it will destroy us in our next shooting war…

I’m still running a 75 series land cruiser for these reasons.

As for industrial scale warfare, it requires technology to be 3 things.

1. Simple to learn/operate with minimal training
2. Rugged and able to be repaired in the field with minimal tools/equipment.
3. Cheap to produce/easy to be put into mass production quickly.

Our moder war tech is none of these things…

And people wonder why the Russians still use the RPG-7

INSIDE THE FACTORY THAT ONLY BUILDS WHITE TOYOTAS

Welcome to Toyota Gibraltar Stockholdings (TGS), the world’s most remarkable car dealership

“We don’t really think of them as cars,” TGS co-chief executive Jonathan Gourlay tells me. “We’re just giving our customers a tool that does a job, whether that’s feeding children or delivering medicines.”

You might think, like me, that the 70 Series Land Cruiser is utterly cool and want one very badly, but cool plays no role here – this is transport at its most fundamental. Simplicity, capability and reliability overrule everything.

“If you look back 25 years, there were a few players in this market,” Gourlay continues. “There was Land Rover, there was Nissan and Mitsubishi, but gradually they’ve focused on building what I’d call ‘first world’ vehicles for Europe and North America.

But Toyota still builds a 4.2-litre non-turbo diesel. You can’t register a new one in Europe because of its emissions, but it doesn’t go wrong and any mechanic can fix it in the field because there’s no electronics around it. You don’t need diagnostic tools, you just need to know how an engine works.”

Here’s what a real genocide does..

In 1939 there were 16,600,000 million Jews in the world

In 2018 there were 14,511,000 Jews in the world.

Even after 78 years, world Jewry is still yet to recover from the Holocaust.

Some activists talk about a “genocide” of Aborigines (Hideous Thorpe claims it’s ongoing), this despite just under a million today identifying as such, compared with less than a third of that less than 20 years ago.

Of course this means guesswork – or going online – to find out some of the aspects of operating the car.

Conservative group circles two trucks with photos, names of Pro-Palestinian Harvard students around Harvard Square

Fallout from a controversial statement published and initially signed by about 30 student groups at Harvard University continued Wednesday as two trucks circled Harvard Square for much of the day, featuring the names and photos of students linked to the statement.

The billboard trucks … featured LED screens that changed throughout the day to feature at least a half dozen Harvard students under the words, “Harvard’s Leading Antisemites.” The trucks also linked to a website, HarvardHatesJews.com, which directs users to send messages to Harvard’s board of trustees.

Blowback for that disgusting statement that so many student groups at Harvard signed on to is active and accelerating. A growing number of employers are requesting the names of the student members of those organizations so that they can put them on their no-hire lists.

Students are getting an advanced class in responsibility for their actions. About time.

Let’s dissect the Russian turd’s nonsense. Selected moonbattery:

Ref 9/11, a question to all on this blog.
How many tall buildings, steel reinforced, have collapsed due to fire since,
[pick a date], say 1900?

One unit of the NYFD reached the fire in the first bldg to collapse, and his report can be heard. He said “the fire here is NOT too bad and we can put it out with TWO lines”.
So it is not even a huge fire, yet we are supposed to believe it caused catastrophic damage to the steel supports.
Less than a minute later, the building collapsed.

Now, given the greatest loss of life on the US mainland in a single day, one can rest assured that extensive testing of the steel girders was conducted, to prove the theory, ….., right?
Nope. Honest Rudi Gulliani, the very next day, started removing ALL of the debris, 400 tons per day, in trucks and shipped it all off to, …….., China.
NONE, was kept for testing by the Govt. NONE.

That the Israeli/US intelligence have missed the 2,000 missiles buildup, (Israel’s est), and the deployment of over 1,000 fighters entering Israel, is at best, ………, “suspicious”. This is no small enterprise.
That the US is sending TWO Carrier Battle Groups, to assist Israel to defeat Hamas,
(???????????), is plainly ridiculous.
It is either war with Iran, (“this time it will work!” – Nuland, Blinken, Sullivan, Bolton et al), or maybe, attempting to strengthen the US position in Syria.

Any bullshit will do to defend that Mediterranean naval base (Tartus) I guess!

Our Outback Travel Australia restoration project, rebuilding and modifying a LandCruiser 75 Series tray-back, is an ongoing exercise.

Our OTA project vehicle could hardly be more different from our first. We’d tested the revolutionary Land Rover Discovery 3 and reckoned it was the best wagon on the Australian market, so we bought one and drove it outback for three years and just under 200,000km.

It never let us down in the bush, went through trackless deserts without major issues and was the most advanced 4WD wagon in our estimation – soured by lousy quality control and computer-related issues that Land Rover Australia wasn’t interested in curing. If the Japanese or Koreans had built it we’d probably still have it!

Our current project is as far – electronically speaking – as you can get from a Discovery: it’s a LandCruiser 75 Series tray-back that already had 300,000+km on it. It doesn’t have a single piece of electronic gadgetry in it – apart from the radios, an infotainment screen and a Doran tyre pressure monitoring system.

We’d christened the Land Rover ‘Larry’, so the 75 Series HJ just had to be ‘Harry’.

Islamic groups accuse politicians and media of ‘double standard’ portrayal of Palestinians after Hamas attacks
Jessica WangNCA NewsWire
Thu, 12 October 2023 12:56PM

A joint statement from 41 Islamic community groups has called on the federal government to “end the double standards” and acknowledge the loss of Palestine lives as the Israel and Hamas conflict escalates.

The letter rejected the “one-sided portrayal of the Palestinian issue in Australia” and condemned all “calls and incitement to violence and hatred of any people”, including anti-Semitic, anti-Muslim or Islamophobic attitudes.

“There is never a justification for any loss of innocent civilian lives. This must be a universal constant and hold true for every life,” the letter read.

“This cannot be overlooked or ignored. Regrettably, it has.

“Enough is enough. The voice of Australian Muslims and proponents of justice for all people will no longer be silenced on the matter of Palestine.”

Signatories including the Alliance of Australian Muslims, Lebanese Muslim Association, and Muslim Women Australia called for mosques to be lit up with the red, black and green colours of the Palestinian flag.

They also called on politicians to acknowledge the deaths of Palestinian civilians.

This comes after organisers of a highly condemned pro-Palestine rally in Sydney’s CBD vowed to continue despite being denied a permit by police.

The location of a second “static rally” will now take place near Hyde Park, a few hundred metres away from its original location of Town Hall.

A post shared on the event’s Facebook page pledged to continue with the demonstration despite the protest now being considered unauthorised and illegal.

“They have denied us a permit to march this Sunday, but that does not mean we have lost the right to protest, and we will not allow that to stop us,” the post read.

“We will demonstrate, loud and proud. The Palestinian people deserve our solidarity.”

1. Nowhere have I “blamed” 9/11 on the Jews and
2. Nowhere have I “blamed” the Hamas attacks on the psychopathic, impulsive, brain dead dross of Washington, the NeoCons.

Sure buddy. Blame the US for the Hamas attack on Israel and start talking utter nonsense about 9/11 being an inside job.

You’re cooked old son.

It was a inside job you MSM consuming idiot. FMD!

Phil Ol’ Commie Adams has an article up at the Oz applauding the Voice for various reasons.

The usual generalisations about how everything was good before whitey arrived. One of them is the number of Aboriginals in Australia: “By some estimates, up to million when the First Fleet arrived in 1788”.

“By some estimates”, what a bunch of weasel words. By another estimate, only a fraction of that number.

Two can play this game.

No. The scrap metal from the World Trade Center has been distributed nationwide and throughout the world. Most has been made into or reserved for memorials. 7.5 short tons (6.8 t) of the steel for instance was used in the construction of the USS New York.

NONE, was kept for testing by the Govt. NONE

Wrong. Much of the steel was analyzed by the U.S. Department of Commerce’s National Institute of Standards and Technology in 2009.

That the US is sending TWO Carrier Battle Groups, to assist Israel to defeat Hamas

One, not two, Carrier Battle Groups (USS Gerald Ford) is on station in the eastern Mediterranean as is a Marine Amphibious Ready Group of two ships (one is a helicopter carrier). They are there for two reasons. To be prepared to act if required to rescue US citizens being held hostage by Hamas and to let Israel know they aren’t alone. They have no other foreseen role relative to Hamas.

I’m always amazed at how some just dream such tripe up to support their agenda thinking that nobody knows better or will fact-check them.

‘Gaslighting, bullying’: Jacinta Nampijinpa Price casts early vote in Alice Springs ahead of Voice referendum on Saturday (Sky News, 12 Oct)

Shadow Minister for Indigenous Australians Jacinta Price has casted her vote for a Voice to Parliament in her home town of Alice Springs. … Speaking to Sky New Australia’s NT correspondent Matt Cunningham, Ms Price reiterated why she has been such a strong advocate for the No campaign as she signed her official ‘no’ on the ballot paper.

“I don’t believe we should be divided along the lines of race in our country,” she said live from a pre-polling centre.

“I don’t like the way we’ve been divided as a country. I don’t like the gaslighting that’s gone on, the bullying.”

She sounds a lot like a Kitteh. It would be wonderful if she drops by Dover’s blog.

BoN, I am up to number 34 in the Bob and Nikki series and still enjoying it and watching for the next one.
The scope of the story and the universe gets much bigger and the good ‘ol’ boy corn-pone fades to more apparent competence.
There are a LOT of space operas around now! Another author I enjoy is CJ Williams, eg ‘Galleon’ and ‘Effie’.

Nothing to do with Palestine.

Mussies have done this in India, Russia, France, USA, and on and on.

It’s the religion and that desert pirate who even in a so called holy book called for Jews to be killed.

Salman Rushdie sure ain’t no Israeli.

Vivian Silver is a lifelong peace activist with links to Australia.

Ms Silver worked regularly as a volunteer driver for a project funded by an Australian charity, Project Rozana, which collects critically ill Palestinian children and takes them to hospitals in Israel for treatment.

The charity is run by her friend, Melbourne businessman Ron Finkel. He’s known Ms Silver for 52 years.

“She has been a social activist and dedicated to the cause of peace. It’s part of her DNA,” Mr Finkel said.

Poor lady. I don’t wish such a fate upon anyone.

I’m not so charitable.

She reminds me of those European victims of rape and other crimes who won’t co-operate with the police because it might reinforce ‘stigmatisation’ or something. Their care factor for other potential victims is zero, it is all about feeling good about themselves.

This woman would have had to be deaf and blind not to know that anti-semitism was rife among the people she was working among. Not just ‘I don’t like Jews’ – we’re talking drive them into the sea stuff.

I’m sorry she died, but I have to say that some people are so deluded that their trajectory is not surprising.

Phil Ol’ Commie Adams has an article up at the Oz applauding the Voice for various reasons.

And yet, the real reason for him supporting it he remains steadfastly reticent: the dismantling of Australia to be replaced by a glorious people’s revolution and dictatorship of the proletariat.

You see, it is often said that science advances one death at a time but this is even more the case for the leftist ideology where each generation wants to slit the ideological throat of the one before so they alone can be the only true and final champions for whom history has been clearing a special place.

Phatty Adams is a 1970’s lefty. He still thinks it is about working classes and bourgeoises and tractor factories and shit. But he will put up with all the current lefty stuff because it all tends toward the required annihilation of Australia, when it will be discovered that his 1970’s undergraduate fixations are the real battle after all.

There is not a lefty luminary not held aloft by ego. That thing is utterly impervious to evidence and reflection. Look at Bernie Sanders – he and The Squad could not even agree on what pizza to eat. But they all believe they uniquely embody the purest essence of the left.

Digger check to see if you have a factory towbar. I know of a guy who got an aftermaket one fitted from a different model but the early Raptors weren’t allowed to have a towbar.

The car is a new 2023 manufactured Raptor with a Ford towbar fitted by the dealer. I can understand concern about them fitted to a 292 kW vehicle but I think they have sorted that with the 10 speed transmission and a 2.5 tonne towing limit.

A little background on why Israel cannot be allowed to exist… according to the original weird beard himself…

The existence of a Jewish homeland in what was once Islamic controlled land is a horrible, unspeakable affront to the Islamists. A place conquered is supposed to stay conquered for all time or Mo was just a fraud.

https://www.jewishvirtuallibrary.org/islam-rsquo-s-house-of-islam-and-house-of-war

The ” west” keeps trying a political solution to a theological problem.

The Pallis can never be forgiven or reintegrated back into the wider world of Islam until they have extirpated their terrible sin of losing some of Mos sacred turf.
That’s why they can inherent refugee status, because they are carrying a terrible stain according to the weird beards of Islam.

Once you have been subjected to Islamic terrorism, you tend to sympathise with others who have experienced the same.
