Think about it. If you might have to pay child support for kids you don’t meet until they hit 16, you’d be crazy giving the goo away for free because the potential future liability is possibly in the millions (for the more fecund).

If career women want a parasocial and autistic relationship with the fathers of their children, they can consider it a dystopian form of a dowry.

You might say “oh well CS doesn’t get backdated for long in Australia” – yes, but sometimes it must be paid for adult children (full-time students).

Five to six years out of the blue repeated two or three times – or, 188 times.

Where, rarely, people ‘donate’ in either sex out of pity and sympathy, then the least that can be done is to legally recognise the identity of such donors. ‘Donors’ should accept that they are becoming parents, whether they like it or not, and they should have responsibilities to any children they produce – just as happens in normal life with one-nite stands. Guard your gametes, a good motto to live by.

KD, this para was after I had said cancel all ANONYMOUS sperm donation. In a later comment I have clarified that legally a donor could be absolved of financial responsibility but could never be absolved of moral responsibilty for the child’s creation and hence for its need to know of its origins.

In the paragraph above in my first comment, I was referring to arrangements made privately where a child is being created, and where the legalities would suggest a parenting relationship might exist. So if you decide to give a lezzo some of your sperm, you should also agree to acknowledging the child as yours, maybe protect yourself from financial claims by some legal work. But the moral issue is that you have agreed to produce a child with someone and that child has a right to know who you are.

Yeah sperm donation needs a cap put on it. It’s the reason there is no artificial insemination in the thoroughbred industry. A popular stallion might cover 100 mares in a breeding season, and that’s plenty. If it was a free for all, the whole breed would be in jeopardy.

LOL

https://www.scientificamerican.com/podcast/episode/thoroughbred-horses-are-increasingly-inbred/

“And what we found was that there has been a highly significant increase in inbreeding in the population over the last 45 years and probably the greatest increase in inbreeding is seen in the last 10 or 15 years.”

Thoroughbred horse production is tightly controlled. Artificial insemination is not permitted, which means that breeding stallions get moved around a lot for meetups with females. These so-called shuttle stallions can mate with hundreds of mares per mating season. And there are two mating seasons: one in the northern hemisphere and the other in the southern.

“In our study, 97 percent of the horses traced back to a single horse called Northern Dancer, arguably the most successful stallion of the 20th century. And his descendants have been the dominant sire lines in Australia and Europe for the last 25 years.”

“maybe protect yourself from financial claims by some legal work.”

I am not a lawyer, but it seems to me that this opens up a minefield of ethical issues. Is a donor responsible for the acquisition of genetic diseases? Is the medical fraternity responsible for ensuring the donor is ‘clean? I’m sorry I am not a lawyer, I would love to argue some of this in court.

Absolutely. If donors and surrogates are going to exist then the children produced should have rights to know details of their parentage. And those helping infertile couples should have some protection against financial claims from offspring, but not against moral claims from offspring to know of their biological origins.

As Cassie said earlier, it may be easier to cancel all donors and surrogates, although very tough on infertile couples, who may also be forced by emotion to seek illegal channels. So not really ‘easier’ to just cancel it all? It’s always going to be a minefield.

Northern Dancer pre-dates the shuttle stallion era. He was born in Canada. Won the Kentucky Derby in 1964. Stood in Kentucky as a stallion. Shows how good he was.

Remember Secretariat? He was a champion, but a disappointing stallion; except as a broodmare sire. Strange and interesting field horse breeding.

My trifecta would have been at least worthy of the name had Zapulia stayed for another 50 feet or so!

Or if Sunsets had managed 2500, not 2300.

I’m not sure 3yos over 2500 is much of anything anymore in a country which no longer breeds stayers worthy of the name. There are 4 – count them – Australian-bred horses in this year’s Cup field. A positive plethora of brackets.

Cite you the case of the two lesbians, applying for child support from the sperm donor who fathered their offspring, but applying to deny him access, on the grounds that “they felt uncomfortable in his presence.”

Oh dear, Zafiro, that is what might be called ‘phrasing’.

Turkey basters are often metaphorically waved around here in discussing do-it-yourself artificial insemination but I have heard that some women also try to put the ‘donation’ into an old-style Dutch Cap contraceptive, which would keep the donation at the tip of the uterus for a substantial period of time, all in the cause of assisting impregnation.

Someone upthread mentioned the film “Centurion” as a good altenative to Rustys Gladiator.

Centurion battle scenes are moderately graphic but capture the awful reality of close action combat with bladed weapons.

The movie “Ironclad” tells the story of King John, and the battle scenes in that film were meant to be accurate (with a few exception), warfare then must have been a horror show.

The online university Trump is talking about could be incredibly good. It would be free, or very inexpensive, and totally unwoke, and you would have academics competing against each other to sell their courses. Of course, if the deomonrats ever got back in, they’d destroy it, but his plan, which also includes accreditation, would be excellent. Funding it? He’s talking about taking away some of the funding from the big universities with huge endowments.

The movie “Ironclad” tells the story of King John, and the battle scenes in that film were meant to be accurate (with a few exception), warfare then must have been a horror show.

Read any of Bernard Cornwell’s ‘Last Kingdom’ series of novels and you’ll get a fairly graphic description by a pacey novelist of just how horrible it was to stand in a ninth century shield wall with a heap of husky vikings on the opposite side.

The staged fighting in the TV series is pretty good, but nothing like as graphic. Cornwall also details the fear, overcoming it by force of will, and what it does to a fighter.

Having read and seen some accounts of 7th October in Israel, I shudder to think of what happens to men when all constraints of human decency are deliberately removed by years of indoctrination. No wonder Jewish people see it as a re-run of the Nazis. That’s exactly what it is.

Hedy Lamarr: Golden Age Film Star—and Important Inventor
March 7, 2023

Actor Hedy Lamarr (1914–2000) had a fascinating life, including her scandalous debut in the Czech film Ecstasy, discovery (and renaming) by Louis B. Mayer, persona as the most glamorous woman of Hollywood’s Golden Age, and relative obscurity in her later years.

But far beyond the Hollywood image, Lamarr was an inventor.

Lamarr wanted to aid the Allied forces during World War II. She explored potential military applications for radio technology. She theorized that varying radio frequencies at irregular intervals would prevent interception or jamming of transmissions, thereby creating an innovative communication system.

Lamarr shared her concept for using “frequency hopping” with the U.S. Navy and codeveloped a patent with Antheil 1941. Today, her innovation helped make possible a wide range of wireless communications technologies, including Wi-Fi, GPS, and Bluetooth.

BENTON, LA — The Federal Bureau of Investigation announced today that it had discovered terrifying extremist reading material in a raid of Speaker of the House Mike Johnson’s Louisiana home.

“We were very troubled by what we found during our totally legal raid,” said FBI Special Agent Curt Schampers. “When our tactical team breached the door of the home, one of our lead agents called our attention to a piece of reading material on the living room coffee table. The reading material appeared to be a thick, leather-bound book that had pages with gold-gilded edges. Clearly some type of radical, religious text. This type of book is normally only found in the homes of truly dangerous individuals.”

There are certain things that happen to women as we age, such as vaginal itchiness, and vaginal dryness which makes sexual intercourse painful. HRT can assist women with this and other issues. However it is up to the individual.

Homosexuality has become very popular among young Western girls because they’re encouraged by the dominant culture to become nihilists to be popular. It’s a mixture of athieism and rebellion against their parents.

Hundreds of thousands of Western females are now signing up as online prostitutes, commonly known as camgirls, who can make hundreds of US dollars a week selling sex on the internet as soon as they turn 18, when they become legally independent of their parents.

Watching young girls who were jailbait five minutes ago defying their parents as 18-year-old prostitutes must be devastating to their parents, who are legally powerless to intervene.

Watching the Melbourne Cup barrier draw, it should be remembered that the alloted gate calls on all the skills of the jockey, who has about 1000 metres to get into position at the first turn, when the field jostles for positions in the second half of the three-minute race.

The gate will make little difference to a good jockey.

PS: 2023 Melbourne Cup favourite Vauban has drawn barrier 3.

Me too. He had no sons, but he did have a “company”. He was an amazing man of tremendous talent.

Robert Blatchford wrote on his death,

”He was our best man. We cannot spare him; we cannot replace him. In all England there lives no braver, kinder, honester, cleverer, heartier man than William Morris. He is dead, and we cannot help feeling for a while that nothing else matters.”

Below is an extract from a dissertation, by a shrink on YouTube (one Dr Todd Grande). He describes the case of Buffy Sainte-Marie (some may remember her, a warbler from the 1960’s) and the faking of indigenous heritage. Buffy appears to have been a pioneer of exploiting bogus indigeneity. Paging Uncle Bruce, and many others (B-Ark candidates one and all).

https://youtu.be/O6TxJnhly-s

Pretendians

People who engage in this behavior are sometimes referred to as Pretendian. There have been quite a few of them throughout the years and some of them were in high-profile positions … This brings me to the question, why do people pretend that they have indigenous identity?

It is reasonable to believe that the motive for this type of deception is assembled when a person is young. Perhaps their childhood experiences challenged their self-esteem they didn’t receive a lot of praise and they could not find a way to feel superior. Contemplating their ordinary nature caused them discomfort and they wanted to find a way to escape that.

These individuals tend to be grandiose have a sense of entitlement and believe they are special in their way of thinking. They deserve to be famous and successful and they should be able to achieve these results without necessarily having talent or working hard. It should be automatic they simply deserve it. Based on their incredible and amazing status, pretendians tend to have a deep level of insecurity and they are not confident about their abilities.

This means that the idea of fairly competing in a marketplace is frightening to them, no matter what their vocation is. The desire to possess an unfair advantage: often they believe they need and deserve this Advantage … the idea of fabricating an Indigenous ancestry comes from the discrimination that many people in this category endure. Selecting this heritage to impersonate gives the Pretendian a sense of security.

It’s like a safety mechanism, they know that if they fail they can always blame the failure on discrimination. In this position of relative safety, the Pretendian can succeed in their career. They can take chances because they know they always have that safety net. Another benefit from selecting an indigenous identity is the idea of being part of a relatively small group. This strongly appeals to the person’s desire to feel special. No matter what happens to them in their career they will be special, no one can take that away. In a sense this also operates like a safety mechanism.

As far as the logistics of fabricating identity, there was a time in history when record-keeping wasn’t the best for indigenous populations. This allows the Pretendian to act like records pertaining to their Heritage were destroyed or never produced in the first place. In a sense when looking at all the advantages from the point of view of someone with narcissistic characteristics it makes sense for them to become a Pretendian.

In addition to these dynamics … fabricating an indigenous Heritage could also be tied to the general movement of people redefining long-held social constructs related to Identity. Whether right or wrong, in the last few years there has been a tremendous emphasis placed on people claiming an identity, that is not necessarily supported by traditional or scientific definitions.

There is the sense that everybody can simply be whatever they want to be, it doesn’t matter what the particular Dimension happens to be. This ties into the idea that each person can construct their own version of the truth. curiously connecting back to [Buffy St Marie’s] case she once said, quote: “I learned early on that what was absolutely true was not necessarily true for me” unquote. This may be a way of rationalizing a lie, like she’s not really lying because she has redefined the truth. So what would have been deceptive is now not deceptive.

In this sense someone who reconstructs the truth never has to lie, and if they do, no worries – they can just change the truth again … Buffy was special in another way she was a Pioneer in the area of redefining reality – she started this in 1961, long before many of her contemporaries some may be angry at Buffy for repeatedly being deceptive and not taking responsibility for her behavior; but her behavior aligns with what people can expect in the future. Buffy St Marie was ahead of her time.

Today I saw a picture of an anti-Israel protest in Poland, in Warsaw, taken a few days ago.

Poland is the home of the World War II extermination camps, we know the names of these death camps, Auschwitz, Sobibor, Treblinka and others, it is the home of the Krakow and Warsaw ghettoes, ghettoes where Jews were forcibly confined, to die of disease and hunger, those few Jews who managed to survive the disease and hunger were later targeted for “liquidation”, that is to be transported to the aforementioned death camps, to be gassed on arrival.

Poland, like Ukraine, is one big Jewish cemetary.

The protesters, no doubt far-leftists along with middle eastern men and women, were carrying placards, and a blonde woman with a big smile was pictured carrying a large placard that had a Star of David drawn on it and next to the Star of David were the words….”Keep the world clean”. Just like the Nazis eight years ago thought they were keeping the world clean by exterminating Jewish men, women and children, todays Nazis also aim to keep the world clean by exterminating Jewish men, women and children, and they’re not even trying to hide their desire.

I get it now, nothing, absolutely nothing, has changed in 78 years.

Horror Movie (1974)

I had a high schools exam in English or somesuch. Question asked what is your favourite song? I’d heard this track about once, it was such an ear opener I wrote “Horror Movie” in the answer. The exam paper came back with a large red question mark on it and zero marks…
