Out of interest, I clicked on the Menzies Research Centre link, but all I have in my mind’s eye is an elderly person sitting on a chair, next to the carcass of a horse, waving a feather duster now and then to keep the flies away.
I’ll admit that my knowledge of Sir Robert’s philosophy is not even rudimentary, but it seems to me that the present iteration of the Liberal Party is ‘borrowing’ a tradition it does not deserve.
Last thought on this: A brief (though old) article by a former Menzies Centre Future Leader, makes the obvious statement that I have made previously: That conservatives (the Liberals are dead to me) make little other than token effort to engage with younger voters. We simply write them off as ‘the natural way. We’ll get them when they age (and watch the world crumble in the meantime).
