But what if it were neither “spiritual” or “materialistic” but just more brutal than you can imagine ?

I had a laugh this morning as I got out of bed and headed for the loo. Elsie the cat has finally deigned to notice my existence and doesn’t run like hell when she spies me.. Obviously, she’s connected me with the miraculous appearance of food.
She was in the hallway as I came out of the bedroom and she looked at me, and you could just about see the wheels turning. “You’re not Roger” and she continues her grooming routine. Looks around at the furniture and carpet. “Nope this isn’t the normal carpet.”
“Perhaps Roger has a different skin on today. Perhaps the carpet has just inexplicitly changed colour. Perhaps my food bowls have metamorphosed into a new form of bowl.”
    Face goes into the sardines.
    “Nom nom nom.”
    “Close enough.”

Five times bigger since 1941? Horrific ROI.

Look, JC. I know many (not all) of these people are idiots, but you don’t do yourself any favours by being lazy and just disagreeing with everything.

It’s a much more complex conversation than ‘tis vs ‘tisn’t

Don’t waste your time, John. JC isn’t here just for the discussion – it about being able to scream his frustration at the world for refusing to acknowledge his magnificence, but without the risk of getting taught the manners his dad obviously didn’t bother teaching him.

A man with such a malignant attitude …as you are portraying … brings shame on me as an Australian and Men who saw combat

I’ll treat your demented honkings with the contempt they deserve.

BTW, I hold a Gold Card as a result of my time in the military.

As to some ad copy here is a catchy line ”

“They are going to piss it all against the wall, and their children will be impoverished paupers…I hope their children starve, in the freezing dark. ”

A conversation held between men who carried arms on behalf of the ADF .. I reckon it might work as a recruiting spiel?

Really, turtlehead, you want to bring parents into it like the bush pig. But you told us you were dumped in a home and your father was a real hero who took off like deadbeat.. That’s cultural though, right? -:)

Because Australian fighting men …warriors in the Gallipolli tradition concernt themselves primarily over vanquishing the enemie’s children starving them …

It might be moot because a modern conflict will be thermonuclear. Lower radiation, much more infrastructure damage.

Depends if they use the third stage or not. Thermonukes have a fission trigger, fusion package and if desired, a third stage which consists of a U238 jacket over the whole thing. The U238 undergoes fission from the neutron flux and considerably adds to the yield and fallout. IIRC they left the third stage out of Tsar Bomba.

Yes – Fission/Fusion/Fission. The Tsar Bomba, going from memory was designed to give 100Mt. Leaving off the outer fissile blanket dropped that to 50Mt. I think they did that because the physicists were having little hysterical fits.
There was a curious development with one of the US bombs that had something to do with lithium in the core, but damned if I can remember it.
    Here’s Ivy Mike.
Here it is – Castle Bravo. oops.

Oh no. How sad. Never mind. The ‘Booka will hear of this.

Rosie, Amberley is a RAAF superbase. F-18 Super Hornets, F-18G electronic warfare aircraft, E-7 Wedgetail AWACS at least some of the time, A330 Tanker/Transports and our small fleet of C-27 Mini Hercs as well as the C-17 transport fleet. Take it out and the RAAF is considerably degraded.

    Yes, don’t diss Amberley.
The aircraft can be relatively quickly replaced. The pilots, ground crew, stores, refueling capability and repair equipment are definitely not.
If I were thinking of invading, Amberly would be second target, Katherine first. No, I haven’t forgotten Darwin but it would come under attack by infiltrated manpads.
However I would bow to Boambee Johns expertise and knowledge.

I am not upset .. I am just embarrassed that the sorts of men who claim to be protecting us are far from …

Jails are full of ‘men of honour’.

It just depends on the definition.

I have known men who have aquited them selves with honor and dignity in Indochina… not ones to “mouth off” .. because they knew what was going on… I am so proud that Men Like that did what they had to …. and mostly it wasnt about starving children … Not thew way a Digger goes about things.

We were talking about potential nuclear targets, in the scheme of things if Amberley were a target Brisbane would be annihilated.
This entire discussion is nonsense. Please forgive me for not rushing out to buy a gallon of iodine.

Get yourself to the nukemap site. That allows you to select warhead, detonation height, wind direction, and casualty count. It also gives you radiation levels in distances from grond zero as well as blast overpressures.
Nuclear weapons are just not that powerful as has been made out.
Yes they make a mess of the bits of cities, but to take out Brisbane would use about 5 or 6 350Kt weapons. That’s why the major US weaponry is smaller in yield than it was before. About 350Kt dial a yield I think is the mainstay. The B61 at 350Kt and Trident at 455Kt – all this stuff is there on the site.

Muddy, anyone who posts comments is looking for attention. You included.

Why are you asking me, the be quiet? If the Turtlehead attacks me, like he did this morning and has continued to, I’ll respond. Have you bothered to look at the bolige he’s posted, or that doesn’t matter? The others did too and I’ll respond. Go take a look who started it every single time. You’ve never had any gonads, which is why you can’t understand what’s happening. Just stick to your boring nothing posts and don’t interfere and you will never get a response from me.

    You wouldn’t know.

You, earlier, and clearly inferring that atrocities weren’t committed on 7 October:

    the paucity of beheaded babies

Explain yourself, please. In detail. No fairy floss, no meandering around the subject matter. Explain exactly what you meant by that statement.

Bear in mind that there is irrefutable evidence that Hamas did actually behead infants on that day.

I don’t think anyone would shiver with you, Muddy. If you want to act like a high court judge then look who initiated this and then come back with a reasonable response or otherwise stick to the cactionary and try to keep sounding witty and deep.
