Is there a Milei in this country, Cats?
My, how we have fallen … 😡
Kim, you can only “spend more” if the central bank is on a monetary expansion footing.
Inflation ultimately has to show through nominal wage increases.
A rise in energy prices can also have a dis-inflationary effect if the impact isn’t felt through wages because it would cause a fall in spending in other areas of the economy.
Lastly, as a well known economist keeps reminding, never make an argument from a price change.
Cook: “I who hope ambition leads me not only further than any other man has been before me, but as far as I think it possible to go…”
Reaction to Cook’s second voyage once he got home to England:
Made a Fellow of the Royal Society
Awarded the Copley Gold Medal for advances to health at sea
Received by the King
Promoted to Post-Captain in command of HMS Kent
Made Captain of Greenwich Hospital – aged 47, on pension for life
But…
“A few months ago the whole southern hemisphere was hardly big enough for me, and now I am going to be confined within the limits of Greenwich Hospital, which are far too small for an active mind like mine…”
On hearing of Cook’s death:
The surgeon’s mate of HMS Resolution: “In every situation he stood unrivalled and alone: on him all eyes were turned, he was our leading star, which at its setting left us involved in darkness and despair”
Thanks to collectivism, we get to watch:

Cats, it’s an outrage, I tells ya! 😕
You appear to be fixated on the speed of light and Einstein’s theory in relation to the discussion earlier in the week regarding time.
Quantum theory shows changes in one particle can cause an immediate change in another particle instantaneously at great distance. This invalidates the theory that time is subservient to the speed of light.
Go rut a dog *so amaaazing!*
I got the Novavax so I would be allowed to see my ailing, disabled, brother before he passed away – which he very obligingly did. No vaxxes until compelled by what I am sure you consider an unworthy reason and none since.
I have throughout argued my objections to mandates and my misgivings about the mRNA vaxes (and the one so tardily yet with dubious certainty made available). You cannot seriously think that being able to skirt the vax mandates makes you an expert. All too often it seems the mark of a monomaniac.
I argued against mandates on the basis of what it was doing to us as a society, the unwarranted deification of certain ‘experts’, the risk of blindly trusting risk-averse politicians and their ‘experts’, and multiple other facets of the lockdowns and mandates, and would consider a person who thought I was not qualified because I had had to make a distasteful choice for something even more important to be a Struthian baboon dying on a hill shouting his virtue to people who were not listening.
Any questions?
He’s worried that the Pist Office has stolen his cigars.
Can’t think straight.
Wasn’t Cook a sick man when he was persuaded to make the third voyage?
JC – Squire – never, ever use the term “theory” when the term “hypothesis” is the correct one to be using.
Sacré bleu.
I wonder if there was a connection between ’spirit cooking’ and the blood libel where Jooz supposedly used the blood of innocents to prepare their religious fare.
srr really was out there.
Happily she is now out there some-there else.
Close. Too much plonk doesn’t help, either.
Oh my lord, that is good.
Still, it’s pearls before swine to a Tartaria and Direct Energy Weapon Used By Gummint To Control The Weather And Steel Er Land devotee, and who can only be distracted by clips of large dogs and grifting from isolated cattle station workers looking for a second income from idiots.
Rabz
Squire, thanks for the expert advice.
Barking mad.
JC – Anytime, Squire – you know it to be not false …
The anti-vaxx purists who wag their fingers at those who were dragooned into being vaxxed are almost as bad as the mad vaxxers. One is less dangerous than the other, but they’re two sides of the same coin, really.
Pink and Bleu …

What would I know, other than we’ve been told that travel is limited to the speed of light. Experiments have shown to this likely to be true.
However the original argument was that an instant in time isn’t the same from one end of the universe to the other and somehow it became a discussion about the speed of light and time’s subservience.
Quantum suggests though that when there’s linkage between two particles any change in one will, even at great distance, immediately impact another at the same time.
I was with struth…kind of…in that his nuttiness was kind of amusing, and he was dead right on some things….but he went down the whole “Covid doesn’t exist” road and would try to gaslight anyone who didn’t agree with him by telling them the weird ailment with the strange assortment of random symptoms they were experiencing was just the common cold they’d always known and they’d been hoodwinked by the media.
uncanny
… but what does sancho think?
On a more “light” note. Tesla reported earnings last evening that proved disappointing to the market. The firm reported concerns about future sales and income projections. Stock is down just over 8%.
Here’s my theory or hypothesis. If Musk is right about robotics and that homes will begin to have humanoid robots in the next 5 or so years, Telsa will become the most valuable company on earth as it’s at the forefront of robot development. There’s a possibility that the car business could be spun off or sold and Tesla becomes a robot maker. Don’t undersell Musk.
I wonder what the next Tesla shape is going to be. The current one is starting to age.
Uncanny? Naaa, it’s derivative in a Hegelian way.
You know that.
err, then JC – the only way to solve this infernal conundrum is by getting into some Lou
Being the R ‘n’ R animal that he is … 😕
kind of a Terminator 2 thing
liquid metal that can take the shape of JC’s toaster when he’s peckish
Just flick the switch off, G.O. You know about flicking switches.
Hey – Strawman!
home-grown … for Rabz
And cloud seeding.
Or was it chemtrails?
Maybe it was the BoM weather radar?
The Lou – as he always was and should have been …
Sherbet? Trans, sophisticated musical pallet. Hegelian.
I think ussr took a tumble and ended up with an infected foot which wouldn’t heal.
Last I heard she knew better than the doctors …
Seriously, though. Tesla’s model lineup is basically iterations of the original Model S. It needs a new Model S like the original iPhone needed to be superseded by the iPhone 4 for Apple to keep the magic alive.
good night JC

The Lou, loving the Suzanne – again …
How would you know Trans, trans. In the four years you’ve haunted the sites, you’ve never made a single one. You’re very stupid, always trying to disguise stupidity with poor attempts at smartarsey.
No.
Jabbed or unjabbed, you look at the risks as best you can, and then you do what you have to do.
Just like everything else in a well-ordered life.
Happy Oz Day, folks! Don’t let the turkeys spoil the day. Misery guts (plural) have to share it around, no need for us to pick up what they are putting down.
Although picking up the Cook statue is a given.
