Marulan is not that far from Belanglo State Forest. Constable Soyboy, though not very bright, has a sense of theatre.

Noooo!
To be associated with a man who wore cowboy hats and corduroy trousers.
Oh, the humanity!
Although Ivan’s moustache was somewhat Village People.

Yes, he was going to be done in by the circumstantial evidence big-time

I reckon there’s something else, aside from the circumstantial stuff, which would have made a double moida charge viable.

There’s either something not revealed to the media, or some form of confessional evidence during interview.

All the detective novels seem to indicate that you don’t charge and remand on a double with a hunch. If there were pieces missing, you (apparently) may release and watch, and wait until that piece arrives, and then then re-arrest.

That’s what they did with the Sharp bloke that killed his wife and child with a crossbow down Frankston way, and buried them at the local tip some years back.

Recovery of the bodies (and the subsequent forensic evidence) will merely nail the coffin shut, so to speak.

Anti-Israel rally hears martyrdom glorified on city street

EXCLUSIVE

Martyrdom in the name of Palestine was celebrated during a Melbourne CBD street protest where jihad and support for Yemen also was raised, it has been revealed.

Covert video shows supporters clapping when a speaker last week warned that the Palestinians would not be defeated, because its people were prepared to die for their cause.

In a worrying escalation of rhetoric, the speaker was videoed on Swanston St talking about why Palestinian mothers were worshipped when their sons or daughters were martyred, which is a common Islamic concept in the fight against Israel and in other parts of the Middle East.

With police nearby, the speaker said Palestinian families celebrated the martyrdom, bringing offerings to the mother. “It is great. (When) every single martyr died, they go to their houses with a sweet,’’ he told the gathering. “And they chant to his mother ‘You are very lucky … I wish my mum (is) in your place’.

“How are you going to defeat us when we wish our mothers has (sic) the martyr in their house?’’

About 200 anti-Israel protesters demonstrated outside Melbourne Town Hall on Tuesday, with another speaker mentioning “jihad”, and the chant “Yemen, Yemen, make us proud’’ breaking out. The video – seen by The Australian – is a clear escalation of the rhetoric by the most-outspoken anti-Israel protesters, coming amid increasing concern in the Jewish community that they are being targeted because of the conflict in Gaza, regardless of their personal views.

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese was one of 200 prominent leaders to attend a function headlined by singer Katy Perry at the home of the billionaire Pratt family at the weekend. The guests were confronted outside by pro-Palestinian protesters, who have increasingly targeted wealthy Jewish-linked businesses – especially families that have supported Israel.

Anti-Defamation Commission chairman Dr Dvir Abramovich said the rising hostility towards Jewish Australians was “stomach-churning”.

“This outrage, which blows on the embers of hate, violates every value that we hold dear and must be condemned in the strongest possible way by every political and religious leader,’’ he said.

“Australia’s reputation of being a tolerant, inclusive country, safe for the Jewish community, is being torn to shreds. I urge Victoria Police to explore whether they have the power to stop this abomination.’’

In Islam, “martyr” is a term for those who die adhering to a religious command, including jihad. “Martyr” in the Gaza conflict refers to Palestinians killed in the conflict over their land.

The City of Melbourne council last week rejected a motion calling for a ceasefire in the Israel-Hamas war amid fiery scenes inside and outside the building.

Members of the Jewish community, who were outside the building, claim to have been treated poorly by police.

Police are trying to calm tensions in the pro-Palestinian community amid growing frustrations that the relentless campaigning is having no impact on the fighting in Gaza.

At the same site that the commentary was made about martyrdom, there were clashes with a small number of people opposed to the Palestinian protests, which included a middle-aged man falling to the ground.

Police said: “Police will review CCTV footage … however encourage anyone who experienced or witnessed prejudice-motivated crime to report it to police.’’

“Any reports of this nature will be taken seriously and thoroughly investigated.”

The Weekend Australian revealed deep tensions in the arts community about the way some people were being targeted because of the Gaza conflict, which was sparked when Hamas militants invaded Israel on October 7, while firing hundreds of rockets.

Nearly 30,000 Palestinians have died in the conflict – about two-thirds of them women and children – and Israel is facing global pressure to limit the death toll.

There have been scores of protests across Australia since Israel moved into Gaza, most of them in Melbourne.

At the same time, more radical elements have targeted Israeli shipping interests and other business connections.

There is deep concern in the Australian Jewish community about both hard and soft anti-Semitism, with some of the posters, stickers and protests overtly anti-Semitic.

On March 2, writer Clementine Ford – an outspoken opponent of Israel – will perform at Melbourne’s Malthouse Theatre on the same night as the opening of an acclaimed performance of Yentl.

The decision to push ahead with Ford’s appearance has alarmed prominent members of the Jewish community, who are opposed to her strident support for the Palestinian cause.

With all due respect to the Palestinians, I hope the Israeli Army gives as many of them as possible the chance to be martyred for their cause….

They are going to steal the next election and they’re saying it straight to our faces.

There is no need to steal what a percentage of the so-called opposition party is willing to give to you, for free (or maybe a handjob).

If you know you cannot compete – change the rules of the competition.
The Republicans and their Australian bogan third cousins have no desire to learn, adapt, effectively respond. They had great seats in a ViP box, so why break any sweat by actually stepping onto the field of play?

In a past life, I saw a cockroach surfing on an unflushable at a client’s home, and my first thought was: So this is where we are, huh?

Do these dickheads actually believe chanting “From the River to the Sea” up & down Spring street, or outside Sydney Town Hall, driving around in oversized utes with “OCT 7TH” number plates, plastering swatikas on Jewish-owned businesses, etc, is going to stop the IDF from exterminating Hamas?

Wouldn’t the murder charges be laid on the basis, that lamarre’s service weapon definitely used at the victim’s home, there was sufficient blood to indicate that death or serious injury had occurred and the dumping of bloodstained person items, in fact a great deal more personal evidence that initially available in the Sharpe case which iirc was a missing person case after the mother in law in New Zealand became suspicious about messages she was getting from her daughter and got her PP to raise the alarm?

Because they make the best graphic cards for computers, are the preferred computing platform for Bitcoin mining and also in some AI applications.
What might be interesting is that early reports on the latest AMD computer CPUs indicate it represents the largest ever generation increase in computing power. That probably has already been factored into the share price.

Nvidia dominates the games graphic card market. Many computers don’t have graphic cards, instead the graphics computing chip is integrated into the CPU. AMD run a distant second on the graphic card market but their cards are cheaper and for most gamers will deliver good performance.

The big change coming is that Intel but moreso AMD now make CPU integrated graphics computing chips with enough power to eliminate most low end video cards. Market wise that is of little relevance to AMD and Nividia because I suspect their bucks are made in the rest of the market. Recently Intel entered the graphic card market. Not sure why Intel chose to do that, can’t make sense of it.

The other big graphics card market is consoles. I know little about that but it is a very big segment, bigger than computers. The younger generations seem to buy laptops with integrated graphics for work and rely on consoles for games.

Miserable day here, again.
Low-lying clouds even touching the higher part of the town.
I guess climbing La Rocca isn’t happening.
I went to mass at the two churches turned into one at the Bastion.
Doors were open and I went in to an empty church, thought oh well I’ll have to go to the cathedral, then the bell rang and I realised everyone was in the church on the right hand side, which you can’t really see if you come in the left side door.

There are still two altars but the parish obviously only uses the right side one which is set up for Novus Ordo.
They opened the walls between the two churches with three sets of arches in 1961.
Not sure why there were two side by side.
Like many old Italian towns there are multiple churches and chapels, there is one sitting diagonal to the cathedral next to the steps and there was another opposite, part of the Benedictine monastery which was seized by the state in 1866 and now an exhibition space, part of a government complex.
I went to the museum yesterday too, the building and the contents a gift from the childless owner in the mid 19th century, was a school of the arts but now moved.
Coins, seals, stuffed animals, household items archaeological finds and art, the man had catholic interests.
His impressive study and library are extant but roped off.

Some of the coins and seals were tiny, they must have sieved the soil to find them. Still way more exciting than knapped rocks
Off to Taormina tomorrow.
