Guttering, downpipes, etc.

Nothing can possibly go wrong.

Did mine last month.
Replaced a section of guttering and so far the wet wobbly bits have stayed out of the house..
So far.

My anecdote means you are completely wrong, and people should rewire their houses using bunnings extension cords back to the switchboard.

I’ve read that the aid riot deaths were mostly caused by trampling, trucks but some Gazans rushd the IDF who, knowing exactly what would happen if they were overrun, fired warning shots then low at their legs.
Wouldn’t surprise me if Hamas hadn’t saved the bodies of a few dead terrorists for their palliwood production.
Only the IDF wear uniforms.

Joe Biden, an Indian, and Putin go to Hell and plead to the Devil that they don’t belong here. The Devil, bored, makes them an offer: “I will strike you 3 times with my whip, and if you survive, I’ll let you go. You can use anything you want as a shield”.

Joe Biden goes first. He builds a high-tech shield from depleted uranium and composites, and hides behind it. The Devil strikes once – the shield cracks; twice – the shield falls apart; thrice – Joe Biden is no more.

Next goes the Indian. He puts himself in some advanced Yoga position and goes into deep hibernation. The Devil strikes once – nothing; twice – the Indian shivers a bit; thrice – the Indian grunts, but lives.

The Devil is amazed and tells him he’s free to go. The Indian asks “May I stay and watch? In all the jokes, Putin somehow comes out on top. I want to see how he will do it this time”. The Devil nods and turns to Putin. “So, what will you use as a shield?”

Putin says: “The Indian, of course”.

how is it going in Dunkley?

LOL. Leftard university activists don’t realise that heckling the LNP candidate actually increases his vote.

These people are clueless about how democracy actually works and what turns off voters. They imagine the world is just like their activist fantasyland where anti-democratic fascists are the heroes.

I thought dairy was mostly down south coast, between Nowra and Bega.

Norco is based in Lismore and was est. at Byron Bay in 1895. Lovely dairy country in the north coast hinterland. In the 1970s they won the “milk war” and the right to distribute across NSW & in recent decades they’ve bought up SE QLD producers as well.

This is why Australia is so fokked.

In the 1970s they won the “milk war” and the right to distribute across NSW & in recent decades

They won the right to a market.

There’s few things that enrage me more than government interfering in marketing decisions. I wonder how much the bribes were? I wonder how badly the market was distorted by whatever went on in the ‘smoke filled rooms’.

If Trump is elected and ends the war in Ukraine, he will be denounced and probably impeached again as a “traitor” for letting down St Vlodimir.
Because theres no settlement now which doesnt end without Vlad getting most of what his objectives were.
I cant see a “win” for Trump if the war keeps going

Actually, if President Trump just walks away and tells Europe “You put your fingers in the grinder, work it out yourself”. Then cuts off the money and supplies, and leaves them hanging. That’d be a win and a very good one.

While in Denver, Colorado, in 1983, I was taken to a Denver Eatery. The starter was a dish called “Rocky Mountain Oysters”. I said, “Hey, we are a mile high and a long way from any Ocean”. These can’t be oysters.

The host said, “Well John these are steers’ testicles coated in bread crumbs”. So I said, “Well why don’t you just call them crumbed balls?”. At least you know what you are getting. Stunned looks from the locals and then a few giggles.

Strange. And if you need a pee you have to go to a bathroom. What a strange country.

A few days ago I posted a vid about how Denmark is taking measures to control the immigration problem that would be considered illegal here in Aus; especially the if non-white get lost policy. Britian has an arrangement for illegal immigrant deportation to Rwanda but the problem is legal immigrants. Other European countries are taking much stronger measures to deal with the immigrant problem from certain parts of the world. It is Britain, the USA, and us that seems to be the laggards in recognizing and dealing with the brute fact that if there are people in the land that don’t want to adopt the wider cultural aspirations they are a problem. As Camus noted so long ago: If men cannot refer to common values which they all separately recognize, man becomes incomprehensible to man.

In other Melbourne news:

Councillor Tosh-Jake Finnigan tasered during dramatic Colac Otway Shire council meeting

Colac Otway councillor Tosh-Jake Finnigan was tasered by police after they started acting erratically during a council meeting.

A local councillor suffering a “mental health emergency” was tasered by police during a dramatic council meeting on Wednesday.

Emergency services were called to the Colac Otway Shire council meeting at 9pm after councillor Tosh-Jake Finnigan began acting erratically and self harming.

In a statement on Saturday addressing the incident, Finnigan, who takes medication to manage Borderline Personality Disorder and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, said they suffered a mental health emergency during the meeting.

The meeting was postponed after Finnigan’s demeanour “changed markedly”.

“Though I have no recollection of the meeting past an early agenda item, I am told when an item was made confidential on the fly as I was asking questions, my demeanour changed markedly, stating that I was being gagged, before placing a post-it note adorned with the word “GAGGED” over my mouth and remaining unresponsive for the rest of the meeting,” Finnigan said in a statement.

“After the meeting was adjourned matters escalated, and I ended up hurting myself. At this point emergency services were called, and upon their arrival, police elected to deploy the use of a taser to prevent me from further harming myself, and I was sent to hospital in Geelong via ambulance for emergency treatment.”

A Victoria Police spokeswoman said officers attended the council meeting to conduct a welfare check.

“Officers attended a public meeting on Gellibrand Street and attempted to negotiate with the person in possession of a sharp implement who had sustained minor injuries about 9pm,” she said.

“Police deployed a taser with effect and the 30-year-old Colac person was transported to hospital by ambulance for an assessment.”

Finnigan, who was discharged from Geelong Hospital, is now receiving mental health treatment and will take a step back from some council duties.

“I care deeply about my community, and will still be making an effort to help ratepayers and residents with their issues,” they said.

The Liberal Party has secured a strong swing in one of its strongest booths in Mt Eliza.

The Mt Eliza North both has swung more than 13 per cent to the Liberal Party.

Greens vote crashing in early count
John Ferguson
John Ferguson

The Greens appear to be suffering sharp falls in support, down more than five points in early voting.

This drop, if replicated across the seat, could harm Labor through lower preference flows.

Dunkley appears to be polling strongly for the Liberal Party in the south of the seat, while Labor is holding up better in the north.

The north is a lower socioeconomic compared with the south.

With about 9 per cent of the primary vote counted results are showing a 1.7 per cent swing toward the Liberals, close to a 6 per cent swing to the government and a near 5 pre cent crash in support for the Greens.

He can’t do either –

1. His word is only a half-truth and is not a bond. Elbow speaks with forked tongue.

2. And how can you make a Treaty? There is no one to make a Treaty with. In 1788, there was no Sovereign Nation here. Now there is. And a Nation does not need to make a Treaty with itself.

All of the Australian States and Territories do not have the legal power to make a Treaty. It will only be a Clayton’s Treaty at worst. An Agreement at best. Taxpayers will pay once again.

Because the jellybacks party are promising to do the same thing, only slower.

Apologies for breaking the new rules, but I feel the following is important:

The government media office of Hamas in the Gaza Strip reported that as of February 18, 2024, 131 Palestinian journalists had been killed in the Gaza Strip since the beginning of the war (October 7, 2023). The Intelligence and Terrorism Information Center’s comprehensive examination of the 131 names revealed that approximately 60% were operatives in or affiliated with the terrorist organizations, Fatah or the Palestinian Authority.

Hamas and the other terrorist organizations in the Gaza Strip operate affiliated media outlets. Hamas operates an array of prominent, senior journalists who assist it with ‘”media information” and propaganda activities, conveying messages and reports to residents and others in the Gaza Strip, and abroad. Some work both for Hamas and as correspondents for foreign media.

Avichay Adraee, IDF spokesman for the Arab media, announced that the IDF forces had found the laptop of Muhammad Samir Muhammad Washah in a Hamas base in the northern Gaza Strip. Washah was born in al-Bureij in 1986 and was a correspondent for al-Jazeera Mubasher TV and the al-Jazeera network in the Gaza Strip. The contents of his computer revealed he was also a commander in the anti-tank missile unit of Hamas’ military wing. At the end of 2022, he transferred to R&D in the Hamas anti-aircraft force. Photos were also found on the computer linking him to activities in Hamas’ military wing (Avichay Adraee’s X account, February 11, 2024). Following the IDF spokesman’s announcement, a web surfer published a photo of Washah with Yahya al-Sinwar from his Instagram account.

An analysis of the identity of the 131 journalists revealed that least 78 (more than 59%) were active in or affiliated with a terrorist organization. Among them were 13 prominent members of a terrorist organization, Fatah or the Palestinian Authority. Of them 13 were overtly terrorist operatives belonging to Hamas, the Palestinian Islamic Jihad, the al-Aqsa Martyrs’ Brigades[2] and the Popular Resistance Committees, the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine, Fatah and the Palestinian Authority. It is therefore reasonable to assume their coverage of the events was not objective.

The following is quite dated (2015), but much of it contrasts markedly with what has been publicly stated regarding the ‘occupation’ of Palestine. The following extracts are sourced from: Luxury Alongside Poverty in the Palestinian Authority by the Jerusalem Center for Public Affairs:

What Palestinian advocates like to call “camp shelters” are typically 4-5 story concrete apartment buildings with electricity, kitchens, satellite television and municipal garbage collection. According to the UN, 99.8% of camp shelters are “connected to water networks” and 87% are “connected to sewerage networks.”

Poverty
The CIA World Factbook reported the poverty rate in the West Bank as 18% in 2011,20 in contrast to Israel’s poverty rate in 2012 of 21%.

Life Expectancy
In 2015, life expectancy in the West Bank was 76 years. This was notably higher than the life expectancy in Arab states of 71 years (in 2012), and the average life expectancy around the world of 70 years.

Infant Mortality
In 2015, the infant mortality rate in the West Bank and Gaza was 13 per 1,000 live births, compared with 27 per 1,000 live births in the Arab states in 2013 and 36.58 per 1,000 live births in the world in 2014.

Literacy
In 2015 the literacy rate for people aged 15 and above in the West Bank and Gaza was 96.5%.

Education
In 2011, when Palestinians were asked “Are you satisfied or dissatisfied with the education system?” 63.5% answered “satisfied”, a higher percentage than the U.S. (62.8), Netherlands (60.3), Sweden (61.6) or Japan (54.6).27 The overall percentage in Arab states was 50.0%.

Here We Go news (the Tele):

Packed to the Rafters actor Hugh Sheridan has pleaded for more domestic violence funding for the LGBTQI community, following the shocking killing of friend Luke Davies and his boyfriend Jesse Baird, and revealing for the first time his own terrifying abuse at the hands of a knife-wielding former partner.

Yesss, throw cash at homos because they are special.

Sheridan, who himself survived an abusive same-sex relationship, will march at Saturday’s Mardi Gras parade in memory of his slain friend and as an ambassador for the Domestic Violence Awareness Foundation (DVAF), the organisation he credits with helping him escape a toxic and violent former partner who threatened him with a knife.

Awareness? An awareness foundation helped him ‘escape’? Because he was made aware he could leave? Really? Is this the pandering that goes on?

“I was in a short-term relationship, but it was a committed bond. A strong, committed bond.”

Yup. A short-term really committed relationship, infused with domestic violence. In all seriousness, the drama around homo domestic violence stuff well and truly eclipses anything the poor old heteros can wheel out.

“I was in a position where I couldn’t really escape easily.”

This is about personal pride and potential embarrassment, and nothing else.

He said queer victims often had their DV matters trivialised as gay hysteria

They don’t need funding to combat hysteria. Hysteria is well known to be cured by riding sidesaddle. And paying attention to embroidery.

Hunter Biden sues Rudy Giuliani over ‘total annihilation’ of digital privacy

Trump lawyer has boasted of accessing data from external hard drive linked to president’s son’s laptop computer
Martin Pengelly in Washington
@MartinPengelly
Wed 27 Sep 2023 01.46 AEST

Lawyers for Biden say his data was “manipulated, altered and damaged before it was copied and sent” to defendants

Oh right. Someone stole it. He never noticed until he got screwed over by the public revelations?

Metadata can prove or disprove who hacked the data or not and if the files are genuine or tampered with.

Ted Goodman, an adviser to Giuliani, said: “Hunter Biden has previously refused to admit ownership of the laptop. I’m not surprised he’s now falsely claiming his laptop hard drive was manipulated by Mayor Giuliani, considering the sordid material and potential evidence of crimes on that thing.”

So now Biden Jr has given three versions of events, publicly;

1. Not mine!
2. Mine, but how dare they do this to an innocent customer of an unethical IT business!
3. The “blind IT guy” was not a merchant I bought services off, he received stolen goods. So one stole my laptop!

At least one of there is bullshit.

Let’s hope it isn’t the one he made a deposition with.

From St Pats Day last year:

“[Hunter] Biden had more than a reasonable expectation of privacy that any data that he created or maintained … would not be accessed, copied, disseminated, or posted on the Internet for others to use against him or his family or for the public to view,” according to the countersuit.

Attorneys for Hunter Biden challenged Mac Isaac’s claim that the laptop and an external hard drive became his property when Hunter Biden failed to retrieve them within 90 days of leaving them at the repairman’s Wilmington, Delaware, shop for servicing, citing the fine print of a repair order allegedly signed by Hunter Biden at the time.

Someone will have a reckoning. There are receipts or they are forged.

Why would Biden Jr have a reasonable expectation of the above if he had his laptop stolen?

I think we can say that is version 4. of events that Hunter Biden has claimed.

What happens if you make a deposition to Congress and it contradicts a statement of claim you attest to being true in civil proceedings?

Asking for a friend who has cleaned himself up lately. A Roman a clef of democracy, this little guy.

The entry fee is €13.50 but for that you get the Roman amphitheatre, the Greek theatre, the aforementioned Ear, a grotto and the largest altar in the Greek world, plus in normal circumstances Archimedes burial chamber? Whatever, they had two police officers guarding the entry so no-one would go up there.
The Ear of Dionysus and its close friends are artificial caves from when the place was a Greek quarry (and prison).
The sign said it was changed into a beautiful garden but it looked to me like a 20th century farmer had planted a citrus orchard.
Above the Greek theatre with the grotto were caves that also looked human enhanced, reminded me a bit of Matera.
There were striations in the Roman amphitheatre that puzzled me, turned out they were wheel ruts from when a road ran through before the Romans enhanced the topography to build their arena.
Lots of roped off areas suggesting visitors are no longer allowed to free range as much as they used to and of course the sites had been pillaged for their dressed stone, most recently by Charles V.
Absolutely worth the long walk from Ortigia.
Headlines today that Sicily has a major problem with water supply.
The tap water here is awful, they must be putting it through a salination plant, it’s so salty. I’ll have to buy more bottled water if I want to make a cup of tea again.

Penis News (the Courier-Mail):

A Queensland man who mowed a giant penis shape into his parent’s lawn and wrote the words next to it saying the shape was to describe his brother, has been slapped with a suspended jail sentence.

The man, who cannot be named for legal reasons, spent a night in custody and appeared in Brisbane Arrest Court on Saturday.

And:

The prosecutor told the court that the man saw his parents’ lawn at Burbank was overgrown on February 17.

The brother was unable to mow his lawn because the defendant had “disabled” their parents ride-on mower, the prosecutor told the court.

Two days’ later the brother found the words “(Brother’s name) is a” next to the penis drawing mowed into the long grass in the paddock.

Australian of the Year.

If this style of commentary is resulting in commenters’ phones being sucked dry by Big Gummint, then they’re looking in the wrong spot.

Bizarre.

Maybe he has a suppression order he applied for on his name being released but otherwise he’s being treated like a criminal with vulnerable victims who the court has deemed need protection.

For an obscure and poorly detailed 2D outdoor graffiti of a phallus in grass.

Nevertheless, he has actually spent gaol time for what really should be a civil dispute of a questionable dollar value.

Compare this man’s behaviour to what children can say to teachers at school.

Trivial nonsense like this does not require custody, arrests, let alone a hearing.

There’s got to be more to this, like a mental health issue.

I thought my devices were playing up, but lately conversations with colleagues and friends are just freezing for no reason and I have to reboot, and I am always down to 5% charge.

I do wonder now if it’s because of cat insurgents here? Or just the bad company I keep.
