Last week, Anthony Albanese was running scared from West Australians at the Perth Royal Show.
You may have heard that the Prime Minister was in Perth for a few days last week. But while a record 400,000+ West Aussies attended the Royal Agricultural Show at the Claremont Showgrounds, Anthony Albanese was nowhere to be seen.
Why didn’t the Prime Minister front up to the Royal Show?
It could have something to do with the thousands of West Australian farmers, producers, shearers, truckies vets and more?that he would have had to face while the Labor government decimates the Australian sheep industry.
It’s true, the PM would have faced protest from the #keepthesheep campaign at the Royal Show, and rightly so, but Albanese’s weak leadership?saw him unwilling to set foot amongst everyday Aussies impacted by his governments poor decisions.
Contrast this with the leadership of Peter Dutton.
I was fortunate enough join Peter and a suite of candidates for Parliament at the Royal Show; and speak to dozens of farmers and producers, but also many from the city too.
Peter displayed warmth and empathy for those impacted by Labor’s policy, but he is also displayed strong leadership by once again confirming a Liberal government will support the sheep trade.
Why doesn’t the Prime Minister front up to the Royal Show? He may remember the welcome Western Australian farmers gave Gough Whitlam in Forrest Place in 1974…

A 45-year-old Broome man has avoided jail after cable-tying and detaining three young children in an incident that made national headlines.
Mat Radelic claimed he made a citizen’s arrest of the children, aged six, seven and eight, in March this year after finding them in the backyard swimming pool of a vacant home he was in the process of selling.

On Friday, the court found Radelic guilty of two counts of common assault in circumstances of aggravation or racial aggravation, but acquitted him of a third charge and awarded legal costs of $5500.
Radelic was handed $1000 fines for each of the two charges, which were suspended for 12 months.
During his one-day trial on September 12, Radelic’s lawyer Seamus Rafferty told Broome Magistrates Court his client had made four complaints to police in the preceding three weeks over property damage he believed had been perpetrated by those children, leaving him “frustrated”.
Speaking in a Broome court on Friday the judge said they were satisfied the accused did not act in frustration or anger, but with a force he considered best to restrain the children until police arrived.
The incident made headlines after a passerby live-streamed their interaction with Radelic during the incident.

I get it, but using nuclear weapons against a non-nuclear nation, even one as loopy as Iran, is an international red line*. Israel is not officially at war with Iran (yet) nor are there Iranian troops massing on Israel’s border etc. In other words, Israel does not face an existential threat at this time. In fact, the alternative is true – Israel appears to have the upper hand at the moment and is caning Hezbollah and Hamas.
If you are suggesting a conventional missile strike against Iranian nuclear facilities, then sure. Fill ya boots. But that is far different to using a nuclear weapon, first.
* yes, WWII USA/Japan notwithstanding but that is/was an entirely different scenario.
