Look what the man who signed a contract for submarine delivery in the great by and bye has to say: Scott Morrison put national security at risk.
Former prime minister Malcolm Turnbull has claimed Prime Minister Scott Morrison put Australia’s national security at risk in the way he has handled the decision to dump a $90 billion submarine contract with France and instead build a nuclear-propelled fleet with the United States and Britain.
Mr Turnbull also revealed that he has spoken to Emmanuel Macron since the shock announcement two weeks ago, despite Mr Morrison being unable to get the French President on the phone.
Reminds me how grateful we should be that Malcolm is no longer even in Parliament. As was said at the time:
“$50 billion to prop up less than 3000 jobs in Adelaide just doesn’t add up.”
It was worse than that, but you get the point.
Boons must be doggled, Comrades…
“$50 billion to prop up less than 3000 jobs in Adelaide just doesn’t add up.”
****
Only one job was being propped up – Christopher Pyne’s.
$50 billion to get rid of Pyne would have been extravagant but explicable in the national interest – but $50 billion to KEEP him?

“$50 billion to prop up less than 3000 jobs in Adelaide just doesn’t add up.” Only one job was being propped up – Christopher Pyne’s.
Tim, you’re spot on, and the decision was made after successive Coalition leaders spent years fighting against the ‘industry policy’ madness of the Kim Carr ALP model and after we managed to stop the ludicrous propping up of the automotive giants. When did it become okay to blow billions? Just when??
A pox on Turnbull and his house.
What a disgrace. If this were the US that would be treason.
I would not mind at all if all comments of any type about turdball were NOT shown anywhere in the world.
“Only one job was being propped up – Christopher Pyne’s.”
Correct.
You know what.. with Turdball as a benchmark, KRudd wasn’t that bad.
Why is he still a member in good standing of the Liberal Party?
There are several reasons, no doubt, but what they add up to is that the Liberal Party has no self-respect.
That is because it doesn’t stand for anything anymore, other than political pragmatism (a.k.a. hold on to ministerial leather at any cost), and so it doesn’t respect any core values on which it is willing to take a stand.
Thus the Liberal Party is reduced to being a mere booster for the careers of the insiders who gain pre-selection, few of whom are ever likely to be of much use to the nation’s long term interests.
It only enjoys the public’s somewhat reluctantly bestowed confidence because it’s not the Labor Party.
The Prancing Poodle had sway because of his “personal” connections. Enjoyed a party and introducing people. Also quite quixotic so it didn’t stand you in good stead to get on his wrong side. Canberra is a small place but its tentacles in political, bureaucratic and diplomatic circles can extend to the bath houses of New York.
Steve, we didn’t need to be reminded, thanks.
A lamentable, preening, narcissistic and bitter man. He shows no loyalty to anything except himself. He and Rudd should be locked in a room with nothing to watch except Sky after dark. Neither have any sense of service to their country only self-interest.
Real Deal
Turnbuckle was in the wrong party. That’s all.
In a just world, Tremble would get the ‘dreaded delta’ and be put on a ventilator.
Having the tube stuck down his throat would at least shut him up for a while.
And maybe, just maybe, Australia would finally be rid of him altogether (almost 90% of people on ventilators in the USA died).
“There are several reasons, no doubt, but what they add up to is that the Liberal Party has no self-respect.”
Correct. It was clear to many of us back in 2015 that the party had no self-respect. I’ve long said, since that fateful day back in September 2015, that the Liberal party will never ever escape the miserable effects of the Turnbull years along with his never ending bitterness and malevolence. That’s what happens when you sell your soul to the devil, it’s gone, you can never get it back. Lightweight Liberals, who fell for the lies of the MSM’s jihad against Abbott as well as the meaningless polls, allowed themselves to fall prey to Turnbull’s narcissism, his sleazy and empty words and so they knifed a sitting PM in the back…a man who’d won an election in a landslide. Don’t get me wrong, I had and still have issues with Abbott, I think he was way too decent, when dealing with scum in the media and scum in your own party you need to be ruthless. He wasn’t. And then the inevitable rot of the Turnbull prime ministership, it was like watching the Titanic sinking, but instead of taking three hours it took three long years….a disastrous election campaign, all because Lord Turnbull wouldn’t get his hands dirty by going out and spending time talking to ordinary Australians in marginal electorates, no, no,, no…..he and his cane toad wife performed cheap stunts like getting photographed catching a train from Edgecliff to Town Hall, all to convey the impression they were “ordinary” and then turning up at the Sydney Mardi Gras. Those stunts still makes me laugh out loud. But Malcolm had assured the Liberals everyone loves him! It was going to be a landslide because he was the messiah………except that the only people who waxed lyrical about Malcolm the Great, inner city progressives, would rather be dead than vote Liberal . I knew two such people…LOL…who for years had told me how much they loved Malcolm and how that they might even vote Liberal if Malcolm was PM. I remember going to work on Monday 4 July 2016 and asking…so did you vote for Malcolm? Both answers were the same, “oh we really like Malcolm but there’s no way we could ever bring ourselves to vote Liberal”.
Say what you like about Rudd….at least he won an landslide election in 2007 and at least he doesn’t defecate on the Labor party the way that Turnbull defecates on the Liberal party.
The Liberal party died on 14 September 2015.
Nailed it Cassie.
I shall no longer acknowledge him socially.
Cop that Malcontent
Turnbuckle was in the wrong party. That’s all.
And aren’t the Libs better off for his contribution, JC.
One of Howard’s poorer decisions.
I have observed Trumble since the 80s and the politest thing I can say is that he always was an unpleasant, abrasive little man. How could hoWARd and the lieborals not see this?
I’m mystified how acquiring nuclear subs can possibly “put national security at risk”, particularly if they be gotten quickly, eg. leased from USN reserve boats. It’s like saying we should buy Cessna Caravans instead of F-35’s.
At the very worst it does further annoy the Chinese, but nothing short of surrendering would overcome that.
It’s really weird. But then so is his moaning about global warming, which steadfastly isn’t happening in real world data. Certainly not this century so far.
Libs had no money so Turnbull funded his campaign to the tune of 1 million . Perhaps he included a clause about repayment and they are stuck with him.
Apart from the defence of our country, annoying the chink pooh bear is a side benefit.
Please, please, please let him lose the current court case, be found guilty of wrongdoing and have to swap his Pt Piper harbour views for the Long Bay ones.
It’s a civil case, Ted.
Nobody will be going to jail.
I shall no longer acknowledge him socially.
Me either. He is on his own at the next greyhound meet.
Never underestimate the Gay Party.
They are bloody ruthless, vindictive and nasty.
I’m extremely impressed with your writing skills and also with the layout on your blog. Is this a paid theme or did you modify it yourself? Either way keep up the nice quality writing, it’s rare to see a great blog like this one these days..
