All Souls’ Day

The way to love anything is to realize that it may be lost.

-G. K. Chesterton

In the OT today, Calli made the following astute comment,

We seem to be in a perfect storm of physical and spiritual (or, if you like, moral) degradation, without the will to tackle it in the simplest of ways. That is, starting in the home. Our telescopic philanthropy has us viewing far away causes while ignoring our toddler of a country teetering on the precipice.

How do we do this? By honouring our immediate obligations, firstly, to God. Secondly, to our spouse and children, our parents and siblings, and extended families. Thirdly, our obligations to our nearest neighbors, community, and so on; as the concentric circle enlarges, our obligations become less onerous because they become more diffuse and less direct.

If we want to preserve what remains of our civilization, and regenerate robust and flourishing communities, there is no alternative than beginning at the level of the household. And given the day, there is no better means of honouring our obligations than remembering our dearly departed. Light a candle. Visit their graves. Remember them in your prayers.

One of the most moving things I saw last year was a daughter on a picnic rug enjoying a sunny afternoon by what I guess was her parent/s? graveside on All Souls’ Day. Among all the ignoble things we have witnessed these last couple of years, that remains a ray of hope.

“Do something every day that you don’t want to do; this is the golden rule for acquiring the habit of doing your duty without pain.”

“Be careful about reading health books – you may die of a misprint.”

“Kindness is a language that the deaf can hear and the blind can see.”

“Forgiveness is the fragrance that the violet sheds on the heel that has crushed it”.

“Fear of death follows from fear of life. A man who lives fully is prepared to die at any time.”

“To get the full value of joy, you must have someone to divide it with.”

“Anger is an acid that can do more harm to the vessel in which it is stored than to anything on which it is poured.”

All Mark Twain.
All timeless wisdom.
All seemingly apropos to our current time and circumstance, as well as the head post.

If we want to preserve what remains of our civilization, and regenerate robust and flourishing communities, there is no alternative than beginning at the level of the household.

Which is why the family or household has been under attack for decades, with the state steadily encroaching upon it and claiming authority in its sphere.

It is clearer than it ever has been in recent times that we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.

One final Twain quote:

“If you find a starving dog and make it prosperous, it will not bite you. This is the principle difference between a dog and man.”

Politics, anyone?

The family is the institution that Big Government — and, in the end, all who nurture it by voting its Free Stuff –fear the most.

All around us we see loving family life and , surrounding it, the institutional wall of Big Government determined to destroy it.

Big govenment and the ideology that inspires it, Marxism, hate the family.

I have been thinking that we need to launch a counter-offensive to survive.
Putting the CRT teachers to the sword creates a world I don’t want to live in , even if their ‘moral status auction’ is certain to end in them putting US to the sword.
The better offensive is to start becoming the best person I can. And trying to help others to see it that way. We can make ready for the knock in the night hours, perhaps make it less likely, and not be the ones who start it.

And just in time, to ensure you are able to have your household “robust and flourishing”, The Summa Domestica” is published this November. In three volumes, “The Summa Domestica” (Family Life, Education and Housekeeping) is neatly presented in a slipcase by the author Leila Lawler. Mrs Lawler is much, much more than a 21st Century Mrs Beeton.

It was George Pell who wrote the forward to another of Mrs Lawler’s books, “God Has No Grandchildren”.

Err….I think it would be more accurate to say we haven’t held up our side of the bargain…

having failed to conserve anything, conservatives want to conserve just the self, as though that idea will win over fascists and marxists. I mean when something doesn’t work, let’s double down, right?

I say nuke them to hell.

I have come to understand that I cannot avoid the vax. I am a single woman, part of group 2 in WA and must have it all official by the end of January. I cannot count the nights I have been sleepless with worry. I am the kind of person who avoids harmful chemicals to the nth degree, despite not having an allergy to bless myself with and very robust health.

I will admit that I began to hate. To hate those who would coerce me in this manner, to hate those who acted as the bully boy enforcers and to hate those who heaped vitriol on me for expressing my reservations and fears.

Sometimes, waking at 0130 on a workday brings clarity. To hate would hurt noone but myself. I have been well-taught as to what forgiveness is – a conscious act of the will, not a feeling. I have seen the power of forgiveness in my own life many times.

I will not forget what has been done to us. Indeed, there is a protest in Perth on November 20 that I am going to attend. No more letting others do all the heavy political lifting. I want to be among peaceful, like-minded people who are doing no more than asserting their natural rights.

But I will not hate. To do that means I have lost.

“Putting the CRT teachers to the sword creates a world I don’t want to live in , even if their ‘moral status auction’ is certain to end in them putting US to the sword.”

Noble sentiment but that’s not how wars are fought and won. We on the right have been turning the other cheek for decades and by doing so all we’ve done is empower the left. They’re sneering and laughing at us. That’s why the left loathed Trump…he fought back. Whilst he might not have put a sword through leftists physically, he most certainly put a sword through their sinister ideology….such as transgenderism, where a boy/man wakes up one morning and decides that HE is a female and HE enters female only spaces and exposes HIS dick to women or, as in Loudoun country, a boy who rapes a young girl and then the progressive school board try and cover it up.

DB is right….we need to concentrate on the family and home. This was how people survived in Eastern Europe and the Soviet Union…it’s how Jews survived thousands of years of persecution. It’s the only way forward.

I’ve had to work hard at getting the SP to understand that this is a great way forward. Our families form the most humanly meaningful communities in our lives*. Respect for individual choices while maintaining relationships of trust and establishing a shared moral framework can provide the foundation for the parallel societies/structures that can be the foundation of our personal freedom.

* Not everyone has actual family with which to do this. Building yourself a ‘created’ family with like minded people can be challenging but can also provide you with all of the benefits, sometimes with less of the liabilities from blood relatives.

@Luzu:

Under normal circumstances, I would be the last person to suggest an ‘illegal’ solution to anything.

Furthermore, such a ‘solution’ does not alleviate the much greater problem – which is that by submitting to the ConVid vaxx mandate, whether in reality or by cheating, we are only perpetuating and abetting the government overreach that has led to this situation in the first place.

And the coming mandatory ‘boosters’ mean that this solution is only temporary anyway.

However, extraordinary circumstances sometimes warrant an extraordinary response.

What is your life & good health worth, after all? You do know that should you become one of those ‘extremely rare’ casualties of the frankenvaxx, you, or your close relatives, have no legal recourse to sue the perpetrators?

You can obtain a valid, Medicare-registered vaxx certificate for about $350 or so by spending a bit of time on the Telegram app and talking to people there.

You can also simply download a genuine-looking ‘digital certificate’ for your mobile phone through sources I will no divulge here so as not to compromise them.

As your employer is not able to access your Medicare records directly, you just need to be brazen and tell them that yes, you are ‘fully vaxxed’.

And you can add ‘I hope you FOAD’ to that.

Yep, sure is Roger. Straight out of the communist manifesto .. one of their policies (commitments) is to destroy the nuclear family, and the church.
And after 70 to 80-odd years at it, they’ve managed to travel a l-o-n-g way down that particular road!
