We didn’t encounter anything like that. Most people (with ACT number plates) were tooting in approval at cars with flags etc.
Interesting, however, that the attacker called the lady “a bogan”. It shows that such prejudice is still alive and well in Australia. The state by state allocations of initial letters broke down years ago. NSW has been issuing “Y” plates for years, and also “Z” plates. I think I have also seen “U” plates here as well. It came to notice years ago, when a Canberra car was given a ticket in NSW, when the car had not been there in the relevant time period.

Almost all of the thousands of vehicles that descended on Canberra for the protest were decked with flags. It must have really aggravated those sanctimonious Canberra residents who think they have a monopoly on wisdom. Almost certainly the car behind the “protest” vehicle “nudged” the vehicle in front – the driver was clearly highly aggrieved at the flags – as seen by her subsequent agitation and the content of her abuse.
Negligent driving charge was a fairly light punishment in view of the deliberate nature of the damage.
I’m not personally familiar with the area where the incident occurred but a friend who is suggested that with the known road blockages etc. there wouldn’t be any likely reason for a local to be there unless it had something to do with the protest. In other words, it seemed likely to them that the aggressor went down there looking for trouble.

Both cars are NSW-plated. There was a very very tiny bump (no damage visible) which the chick in the brear car says was the front one rolling back.
The chick in the front car then got into the second chick’s face, and she then got angry. In the ACT there is no need to call cops if no-one’s hurt etc, and you have 24 hrs to report it. the front chick has filmed the number plate and filmed who was driving the rear car. the rear chick decided to piss off berfore it came to blows.

The “front chick” was the passenger, not the driver. She got out to document the damage, etc. with her cellphone. She was no closer than 10 feet and on the other side of the car from driver 2, not “in her face” when driver 2 began to melt down.
‘Emma’ was driver 1. When driver 2 went nuts and rammed her car ‘front chick’ obviously was apologizing to Emma that driver 2 overreacted to her videoing and rammed her car (again).
Further video shows driver 2 exiting her car, stealing the flags off of Emma’s car, and assaulting a woman (Emma?) with them.
If your car is damaged by another driver’s actions you absolutely want it extensively documented and an actual attending police report of the incident. That way there is no question of guilt later.
